"She's going to get you killed," Scott informed me after Econ.

"Yeah. Yeah she probably is. She'll make it fun though."

"You two are so weird. You really think I've got a chance with Kira though?"

"Well, duh. Hey, dude, what is my dad doing here?" Down the hall, Dad was storming towards us with an entire team behind him.

"Uh…I don't know. Did somebody die?"

Dad reached us at that point and ordered, "Walk with me."

"Dad, what's going on?" Scott and I fell into step with him.

"William Barrow escaped from the hospital about an hour and a half ago in the middle of an emergency operation."

"William Barrow, like the shrapnel bomber?"

"Yeah. The ambulance Barrow stole was parked a few blocks from the school."

"So what? Did the dogs lead you here?" I asked.

"No."

"So what's really going on here? What's up, Dad?"

He looked around and then leaned close to murmur, "Where's Carter?"

"Why?"

"When Barrow blew up that bus, he said it was because the kids had glowing eyes. Who does that remind you of, Stiles?" He glanced over at Scott.

"Shit," Scott cussed. "We have to get Isaac and Carter. Do you know where she is?"

"On her way to Government. Probably with Brian or Danny. Maybe Greenberg."

"She still talks to him?"

"That's not important right now!" I snapped. "We just have to get to her, now!"

"Isaac too," Scott added.

"Well, duh, dude. Carter's not leaving him in a dangerous situation."

"Go," Dad ordered. "Just, be careful, got it. If you can, leave it to the cops. Stiles, walk with me. I'll fill you in. Come on."

"He just broke it."

"I'm sorry, dear. He probably didn't know it was from you."

"I know but I put a lot of work into that gift. I wanted to get him something really special." Greenberg was close to tears and I really did feel bad for the guy. I rubbed his shoulder comfortingly and looked across him at Brian who was doing his best not to glare at me still. My brother wasn't taking it well that Stiles and I had gotten a little over excited in the school the night before.

"It'll be alright, Greenberg," Brian assured him.

"Carter, Brian! Hey!" We looked up as Scott and Isaac stormed over. Fear, worry, anger, angst.

"What's going on?"

"We need you to come with us really quick. It's an emergency."

"Is everybody okay?" Greenberg asked quickly.

"Family emergency," Scott corrected.

"You guys are related?"

"Cousins," Scott lied. "Their dad was my dad's cousin. So we're second cousins."

"Oh. That makes sense. What's going on?"

"Secret."

"Why does Isaac know?"

"He's family too," I said. "And now we have to go. Right now."

"Okay, see you later." I hugged him really quickly and grabbed Brian's hand and we followed Scott and Isaac.

"What's going on, where's Stiles, and does it have anything to do with those alpha twins?"

"Long story, he's getting the rest of the information, and not this time. A psychotic dude who killed a bus of teenagers with a shrapnel bomb escaped from the hospital this morning," Scott explained as quickly as he could. "We need to split up and then regroup. Carter, get Allison. Brian, get Lydia. Isaac, go get Stiles."

"Pause," I commanded while we continued to stride down the hallway, nearly shoving people out of our way. "My brother isn't going anywhere without somebody with him. He's not like us."

"Isaac, go with Brian to get Allison. Carter, get Lydia. We'll meet back here," Scott amended.

We nodded and broke off into our separate assignments. Lydia was by her locker. I snagged her arm without stopping walking, dragging her with me while she protested, "What the hell, Carter?"

"Come on. Now. I don't have the whole story but you have to come with me." I continued to drag her, my fingers digging into her wrist.

"Carter!"

"No time! Why do you smell like werewolf? Like a lot like werewolf. And sex. Ugh! Lydia!"

"Don't judge, Carter. We've all heard what you were doing last night! I can't believe you didn't call and tell me!"

"It hasn't even been twelve hours since it happened! Why does everybody know already? Seriously. Did you want me to call you while Stiles was in the jeep with me?"

"No, but come on! You could have shot me a text. 'Hey, buddy, by the way, totally dry humped in the school on the night before hell night. Came so hard that the wolves heard me!'"

"What?" We had arrived with the rest of the group and Allison, Isaac, and Brian were staring at us. Allison continued, "Are you talking about Carter's midnight tryst?"

"Isaac, you are the shittiest person ever at keeping secrets," I accused.

"You didn't tell me it was a secret," he pointed out. Scott and Stiles walked over.

"I'll be back," Scott said quickly. "I'm going to do a quick patrol. Stiles, fill them in on what you just told me. Get out of the main hall."

Stiles entwined his fingers in mine and led us down the hall. "Okay, so this morning, Barrow was taken to the hospital to have a tumor removed. When they started to remove the tumor, it was filled with flies. Live flies."

"Flies?" Lydia repeated.

"Yeah, live ones. Then he escaped, stole an ambulance, and they think he might be here. So we really need to get Carter, Isaac, and Scott off the site. When he killed the kids off the bus, he said it was because they had glowing eyes."

"I'm not leaving without everybody," I argued.

"Of course you're not," Stiles sighed.

"Live flies?" Lydia repeated.

"Yeah, live flies," Stiles repeated.

"You're definitely getting out of this school," Brian spoke up.

"Guys, shut up!" Lydia exclaimed. "Seriously, I've been hearing buzzing all day!"

"Like the sound of flies?" Stiles asked, dropping my hand.

"Exactly like the sound of flies. I can't get it out of my head."

"Fuck, we have to find Scott!" Isaac sighed.

"Bri, go with Allison and Lydia to the library and stay there," I commanded. "Danny's there. Make sure he's safe. Stiles, go find Scott. We're going to see what else is going on."

"I'm not…"

"Bri, go. Remember what happens if you get hurt?" I interrupted.

"Which is why I don't want you to get hurt!"

"Werewolf."

"Barely."

"Go," I commanded. "I'll be fine."
