A/N: I was hoping I'd be able to give you all something before Christmas and the New Year. For some reason my muse had this story low on my priority list. In case anyone was curious how I came up with the twins names, Emery is a combination of Emma & Henry and Meghan is a combination of Emma, Regina & Henry.
Chapter 25: Repairing Old Wounds
Emma was laying on the couch in the living room absent mindedly staring at the screen when she felt the couch dip beside her. "What's on your mind kid?" She knew it was Henry because Regina was at the office for half the day.
"I was just thinking...are you more excited about having Emery and Meghan than you were when you had me?" He was really trying to wrap his mind around his new family dynamic. He was thrilled about the fact his Mothers were getting married. He was even ok with being a big brother. But, he just had a ever present nagging feeling that his birth wasn't celebrated as his sisters were.
Emma flicked the TV off and looked at her son. "Henry...I do love you. I love you so much. It's not like I love your sisters more than you or that I love you more than them. It's just different. With you, I was a dumb kid and I was all alone. I had nothing to offer you. I didn't even hold you. I-I couldn't look at you. I'm so sorry buddy." She had broken down into sobs. She was rubbing her belly and cursing her hormones. She leaned over and hugged her son.
"I love you too, Mom. Don't worry. I'm gonna be a good big brother to Emery and Meghan. I'm not gonna let anything happen to them." Henry promised. He squeezed Emma tightly and then released her.
"If you touch my belly right now, you can feel Emery stretching." Emma said guiding Henry's hand to the right side of her large baby bump.
Henry was very quiet and still for a minute before gasping when he felt a thump against his hand. "That's so cool!" He immediately fell in love with his sisters.
Regina came home late and smiled when she found a covered plate of lemon pepper chicken, steamed mixed veggies and roasted baby red potatoes on the table for her - along with a note from Emma.
"I figured it would be late by the time you made it home tonight. Heat this up and come eat it in bed with me." - xoxo Emma
Regina smiled as she warmed her plate and poured herself a glass of wine. Her smile hadn't disappeared as she made her way upstairs and into the bedroom. "Hello darling." She sat the plate on the nightstand and crawled onto the bed, sitting on Emma's legs and cupping her face, kissing her as if they had been apart of days. "I've missed you so much." She said softly when they broke apart.
"I missed you too. Eat your dinner. There's something I wanna talk to you about." Emma said. She had been waiting all day to talk to Regina about her talk with Henry. Not only was Regina the love of her life but she was also her best friend.
Regina stood from the bed and began to strip her clothes off, slowly. She knew how much Emma loved to watch her undress. After she was finished she slipped under the covers, not even bothering to get dressed and started eating her dinner. "Mmmm darling, it's perfect. Thank you." She said after a few bites. She had been famished by the time she finished all of her meetings. She worked through lunch in the hopes she would be able to return to her family early. "Now, what is it you want to talk to me about?"
"Henry and I talked this morning, it was kind of emotional..." Emma started. She felt her heart squeeze in her chest as the memories of her conversation with Henry earlier that morning.
"Emma?" Regina asked gently pushing her fiancé to continue.
"Henry asked me this morning if I loved Meghan and Emery more than him." Emma said.
"What? Why would he think that?" Regina asked. She was confused. Henry had seemed so excited.
Emma could see the wheels turning in Regina's head. "I tried my best to tell him that it wasn't that I love them more, it's just a different situation. He seemed to accept what I told him, but it's been in the back of my mind all day." She said sadly.
"Do you want me to speak with him?" Regina asked. They had never been in this situation before. She wasn't really sure what to do.
"I think it would be best if we let it go, for now. But, maybe before the girls get here we do something special for him?" Emma suggested.
"I see, maybe a sort of "big brother" party?" Regina asked.
Emma nodded excitedly. "That's perfect Gina! We'll throw his party before my baby shower so he doesn't feel left out!" She grabbed Regina's face and planted kisses all over. She finally settled on the older woman's mouth and dove her tongue into it, tasting every inch of her tongue.
Regina giggled. A sound she hadn't made since she was a young girl head over heels in love with Daniel. Another time. Another place. Emma had truly broken the curse. She burst through all the walls and brought out the best parts of her. She was changing the once "Evil Queen's" dark heart to one filled of love and light. Emma did more than save everyone from never having a happy ending. She was repairing old wounds. She realized she had been staring at Emma for several minutes. "Sorry darling, I was just thinking about how much I love you."
"I love you too. And I have to say, sitting this close to you without any clothes on has me very turned on..." Emma said waggling her eyebrows.
Regina laughed fully and deep from her throat. "Must it always be about sex with you?" She joked.
"Hey, I'm five months pregnant, with twins by the way, and it's not my fault you're so sexy it doesn't matter what you wear!" Emma whined. She could feel her underwear dampening with each passing minute. She pouted and kissed Regina's nipple. "Please let me touch you." She begged.
"Oh alright, if you must!" Regina said in mock annoyance. Truth be told she was as turned on as Emma. She peeled the covers back, straddled Emma's legs and guided one of her lover's soft warm hands to her dripping wet folds. She leaned into Emma's ear and whispered, "Fuck me."
Emma pushed three fingers into Regina to the knuckle. "Hold on tight Regina, it's going to be a bumpy ride."
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
