I'm sorry! I think I've become hooked on this kinda thing! I was gonna just leave it but I didn't want to let it go! In my defense look at all the kooky things you get from omegaverse pregnancy fans! *Points accusing finger*
They finished their meal in near silence, no one having anything to say really.
Afterwards Al went off to meditate. It was a while before he quietly called for Matt.
*I'm here,* Matt answered calmly. *Everything alright?*
*I know why it hurt.. Coming and going..* He lay on his back hands covering his face.
Matt just listened patiently, waiting for him to continue.
*According to Eagle I was changed differently than you or Dad, because of my bird side I did have to have a specific second chamber for the eggs which ended up in a lot of extra stretching and reorganizing, but you guys actually just had one. You had some special storage contraption to let both sets start to develop and one would go on hold as the other finished.*
*At least its over now,* Matt hummed softly. *You shouldn't have to go through it again...*
Al sighs softly. *I'm not so sure..*
*What do you mean?*
*It might not have hurt at all but.. Eagle was upset, the eggs hadn't hatched the cubs were premature and half dead. He got scared and grabbed the spell as Coyote Woman tried to take it away. It hurt because he ripped off a piece of the spell off as it was leaving..*
Matt remained silent at that, thoughts racing through his head. *...Are you sure...?*
*Yes..*
Matt cussed, anxiety bubbling up again.
*Easy Matt, nothing happened. The stimulation just made it twitch but Eagle shut it down before anything proccessed.*
*You promise?*
*I promise. He was still working out the kinks, he says it's such a small piece that it would only be active every so many 'breeding seasons', like three to five at the least. And it should be more manageable numbers too, though there is a chance I could end up with a false egg now and then if I'm 'over stimulated'*
*Okay...* Linked as they were, it was easy for Al to sense just how rattled the little piece of information had made Matt. The thought of Al getting that sick again had him trembling where he lay beside Gil.
*It's fine Matt, with fewer chances it won't be nearly as bad as this go around. ..And honestly I'm a little glad he did..*
Matt didn't answer, but he was still listening.
*He wouldn't have done it in the first place if I wasn't upset about it too right? Even if I didn't know it at the time...*
*I-I guess...* he was starting to calm down but not by much.
*..Ya know I wonder, does that mean I have to be a girl now? Paint my nails with Ro?* He joked.
Matt chuckled halfheartedly. *She's never done anything like that, actually...*
*Come on bro, it'll be fine. We don't have to worry about it for a good long while at least.*
*I know, just... For a second there, I thought it was all starting again...*
Al nuzzled closer to his consciousness. *Easy.. Just calm down.*
*Can you come here...? Please...* Mentally, Al could only do so much... Matt needed him in person. He was still picking himself up.
Al shifted up from his bed walking over to Matt's room. Gil glanced up as he came in, but didn't seem too surprised about it with the way Matt just had a panic attack out of nowhere.
Matt simply rolled over, latching on to his twin. Al clung tight and Gil pressed against his back in turn. Matt just curled between them, slowly calming down.
"Better?" Al asked, though Gil glanced between them questions clear in his eyes.
"I think so..."
Al grips his hand comfortingly. He gripped back tightly, hands cold and clammy.
"Am I allowed to be filled in?" Gil asked behind them.
Matt looked back to Al, letting him explain.
"Lemme find Ivan first.."
"Okay..." Matt pulled away and huddled into Gil.
Al went to find his partner, coming back and sitting him down before explaining.
Ivan frowned softly in concern, hugging Al gently from behind, resting his hands on his stomach. Al leans back into it but smiled slightly anyway. Gil just glanced to Matt.
Matt just looked tired and pale. "I thought it was gonna happen again..."
The albino hugs him tight, pulling him into his lap. Matt curled into him, nuzzling into his shoulder. The four sit there for a bit letting it sink in.
It was a bit of a shock, but better than it could have been... Something they thought was over had a chance to creep up again, but this time they couldn't go asking for help since it was self inflicted..
And it seemed it was only Al. Hell, if Arthur ended up brooding again...
But it wouldn't be so bad next time, sure when the heat came it might feel intense, but with smaller groups the stress on his body would be reduced greatly compared to this.
Nonetheless, they were all tired right now... Al had curled up in Ivan's lap nuzzled in his chest. Ivan looked to Gil, asking if they should leave.
"Ah go ahead and stay if you want. Don't think they'd mind it."
Ivan smiled and lay down, letting Al curl between him and Matt. The twins pressed together automatically even while half asleep. The bed just barely big enough to hold the four of them.
They huddled together, trying not to fall off. The comforting little huddle lured them to sleep. Night passing by peacefully.
They were rudely woken in the morning however by a little red beak. Gil shifts groggily, routine waking him. Al on the other hand started feeling around instinctually.
Al accidentally smacked Matt in the face, waking him roughly. "Ow!"
"Huh?"
*Get your hand out of my face!*
Al quickly retreated. Matt spluttered softly. Ivan sat up at the confusion but slipped off the bed. Jules squawked impatiently, flapping her wings.
All in all it was a mess of confusion, such confusion that it prompted Francis to stop and peek in on his way to let the bunnies in the yard. Jules wouldn't settle until Gil picked her up and petted her feathers soothingly.
Francis stood in the doorway watching the mess of people. "Is something wrong?" It wasn't uncommon to see the twins in bed together, but all four of them usually meant trouble..
"Jules got moody," Matt groaned softly.
Francis stayed for a moment more before leaving, there was something more to it though and he planed to push for it later. For now, the four of them just picked themselves up.
Francis stood outside watching as the rabbits hopped about, the cats were starting to walk around more as well. It wouldn't be too long before the rabbits would be ready to leave..
Where to take them though?
Arthur and Alfred both had nature reserves... That was the safest they could make them without keeping them captive..
Francis sighs to himself glancing to the kitchen window, checking to see if Arthur had come down yet.
He walked into the kitchen just then, flashing him a smile through the window.
'Come out here when you get the chance?' Francis signed.
'Want coffee?'
He nodded.
Arthur came out a few minutes later with two mugs. Francis smiles taking his.
"So what was the fuss in Matthew's room?"
"Apparently the chick got grumpy and woke them up, the problem was there were four men in the same bed.."
Arthur frowned softly "That's mildly concerning..."
"I'll ask at breakfast.."
"Alright... How are the rabbits today?"
"They're trying to move further out.."
"I guess they're growing fast..."
Francis smiles sadly wrapping an arm around him. "You could always bring them home? You've got enough woodlands around your house."
"I doubt I could let them go properly anyway," Arthur chuckled.
Francis smiles kissing his cheek.
Arthur smiled, slipping an arm around his waist. "What are you going to do with the kittens?"
"Not let them anywhere near Greece?"
"I don't think you'd get them back if you did..."
Francis chuckles. "I'm not sure honestly, maybe we can divide them up along the family, I'm sure Michelle (Seychelles) would love one."
"I know Molly would just spoil one or two of them," Arthur smiled warmly.
"...There's also Ro's little bear hang-up?"
"Offer her a kitten instead? Even Matt's runt is growing fast..."
Francis nodded sipping his drink.
"She's young, but something tells me she will care for it..."
Francis smiles softly, kissing him. "Come on, let's go interrogate." They headed back in.
Al and Gil sat in the kitchen feeding their respective nests. Matt sported a nice red mark on his face now. Ivan just chuckled as he tended his cubs.
Francis steps over to them. "Good your all here!"
They looked up at the same time. Arthur was next to him as his grin turned serious. "Something happened, what was it?"
Al flushed looking away awkwardly and rubbing his neck. Matt busied himself with his own cubs. Gil points an accusing finger to Al and receives a glare in turn.
"Alfred will explain," Ivan hummed, smiling warmly.
Said blonde headdesked with a groan. His fathers just waited expectantly.
Al sighs sitting up again. "Well you see.. I might not be entirely.. sterile.."
They listened as Al recounted his findings with Eagle, watching them take it all in.
When he finished he just stared at the floor, fidgeting nervously.
"Well... If it only effects you and you're happy with it, I don't think it should prove a problem. All else fails, Dylan and Molly should be able to remove it between them."
Francis chuckles as Al hides in Ivan's back.
Ivan rolled his eyes dramatically. "Fredka..."
He got a muffled response.
"These are your parents, da? Stop being so embarrassed."
Al just sighs.
"Honestly, this can't be worse than when we caught you, what's the term, choking your chicken? You looked like a tomato for weeks." Arthur laughed.
Al shrunk a little more. Matt snickered lightly.
Well all that puritan religion he had growing up didn't help his mindset..
*Just relax a bit,* Matt chuckled, sending soothing vibes. *Remember they caught me and Gil on their kitchen table...*
He uncurled slightly, a little less tense. Matt rubbed his back, offering a cub jokingly. Al grabbed it anyway hugging. The cub didn't mind it leaned up licking his chin.
Francis steps off to cook, pulling a snickering Gilbert to help. Arthur went to check the kittens.
It left the three of them (plus young) alone. Al sighs sitting back. Ivan patted Al's knee gently.
"So did Molly ever reply?" Al asked changing the subject.
"Yes, she did," Arthur came back and set down his basket of kittens. "She's on her way over now."
"Does she know about all this..?" he waved his hand over to the various animals.
"Kind of? I told her we were swamped with baby animals. She'll sense the connection anyway..."
Al hugged the bear again.
"She's not the type to judge, you know that," Arthur smiled gently.
"It's still awkward though.."
"I know, but its not the first time a screwy spell has messed things about."
Well he couldn't argue with that.. This being the third for him.. Arthur and his siblings had had centuries of this...
"I guess we should go wake up Ro."
"She'll be glad to know Molly's on her way," Arthur smiled. "Why not give her the news?"
Al nodded going off to find her.
Ro was still curled up in her bed, sleeping deeply. She needed her rest... She looked so peaceful too, at last... Maybe he could let her sleep in a little..
She mumbled softly, sleepily trying to reach for Teddy.
Al frowns, they still hadn't gotten her a new one..
That had probably lended to her outburst... She struggled to sleep without something to hold and no one had had the time to replace something so trivial as a stuffed bear... Hell, most of them probably didn't even know Teddy had been ravaged by bunnies.
Al sets the cub he was still holding next to her.
As soon as her fingers met fur, she tugged it close, burying her face into it. The cub wriggled uncertainly.
Ok maybe that wasn't the best idea.. The cub was already trying to escape and Ro was just holding tighter.
"Ro.. Come on wake up, you're hurting him."
She groaned, clinging. "My Teddy..."
"That's not a teddy.."
Ro frowned softly; looking down. Her loosened grip let the cub get away, but his claws bit into her arm, leaving nasty scratches on its soft underside.
Al frowns taking her arm and looking them over. They weren't too deep, but they stung... Ro winced softly.
"Come on let's fix you up."
She followed along, shuffling behind him in her jammies. Al took her to the bathroom and started cleaning her up. "So um.. Molly's coming over.. She and you are going to have a girl talk.."
Just at the mention of Molly, she brightened. "How long is she staying?"
"I'm not sure. But she should be here soon."
"Oka-ow!" she flinched as he caught her cuts.
"Sorry.." He quickly finished up.
She pulled her arm into her chest, hugging it with a pout. Al pouted right back.
"Meanie," she muttered, trying not to smile.
He chuckles, "Go get dressed."
She hugged him warmly before running off. "Thank you..."
He smiles back.
She ran back to her room and changed into leggings and a comfy t-shirt.
Al had gone back downstairs by then, food for the humans set up on the table. Ro slunk down to join them, managing to acquire a bunny on the way. She always seemed to get her hands on something fluffy. They settle down to eat.
Just as they were about to clean up the leftovers, a knock sounded on the front door. Al glanced up nervously, fidgeting a bit before answering it.
Molly bounced excitedly on the doorstep, lively as ever. "Morning honeybunch, Artie promised me bunnies!"
"Uh yeah.. In the kitchen.."
"Wonderful," she grinned then hugged him. "Come on grumpygills!"
Al followed behind rubbing his neck nervously.
She bounced into the kitchen. Arthur, shockingly, was the first to embrace her. Ro was mere seconds behind. Al sat over with his nest again. Ivan patted his leg comfortingly. Francis took his turn hugging her with a kiss on the cheek as well.
"So," she grinned, cuddling Francis for a moment. "Someone tell me just how we ended up with a zoo?"
Al shifted grabbing onto Ivan's hand, "It's kind of a long story.."
She just waited for him to explain.
"We kind of got cursed by a trickster and ended up pregnant.."
She pouted sadly, coming and hugging him. "Poor thing."
Al blinked in surprise, not expecting that reaction.
"It's not a fun experience," she cooed. "But the outcome is adorable."
"Uh.."
Molly just petted a chick gently.
"Alright then.."
"Anyway," she turned back to Ro. "Arthur tells me you've been feeling a little left out lately."
She nodded. "Well then lets you and me go have some fun."
Al glanced to Matt, *She's gonna talk to her right?*
*This is Molly, just let her do her thing.*
Al just nods turning back to them. The girls were already on their way out, giggling softly.
Al sighs softly sitting back. At least they had one less person to worry about today..
Arthur came over with tea for them all, smiling softly "I told her Ro was feeling forgotten, so I think she's taken it upon herself to cheer her up."
"Ok."
"Drink up your tea, we'll get her sorted."
Al takes his cup trying to unwind. The warm soothing aromas helped a bit. The men sat around for a bit relaxing. Bad as it sounded, things were a lot easier knowing Ro wasn't a problem anymore...
