Tutoring Chapter 25
"Come on Annabeth this trip is going to be fun, and you diffidently deserve to have some fun. You were just announced as the class valedictorian, you helped bring Goode High Schools Girls Track Team fourth state championship trophy home. A week away from school and our parents, it's exactly what we need right now" Thalia said.
Thalia was helping Annabeth pack for their trip to U of O and UCLA, they were leaving tomorrow afternoon.
"You do realize that my mother is going on this trip with us right?" Annabeth said as she packed her suit case.
"Yes I do realize that, but were also talking about your work obsessed mother, who already told you that she didn't care what you did while you were there as long as we are at the hotel by curfew" Thalia said.
"Alright Thals I'll loosen up a bit, I promise we'll have fun on this trip" Annabeth said so her friend would stop nagging her about it.
"Good just because your dating my cousin doesn't mean you can mope around" Thalia said teasing her friend.
"Percy has nothing to do with this Thals, I'm happy to be going on this trip, and he's happy that I'm going. I just don't want to deal with my mom, she doesn't like Percy that much, and I don't want to listen to her comments".
Thalia frowned "I still don't get why she doesn't like him. He can be an airhead sometimes, and he used to party pretty hard but since he meet you he's done a complete one eighty and I don't know how she would know any of that".
Annabeth through her hands in the air in frustration "That's exactly what I'm thinking, she won't tell me why she doesn't like him, she just keeps telling me that he's no good for me. It's really annoying, my dad and Susan like him, and the twins think he walks on water. I just don't get it".
"I know this is hard for you Annie, but just relax it'll all be okay. Now let's finish this packing so you can go on your date with kelp head".
Annabeth smiled as she moved towards her bathroom getting her hygiene travel bag off the counter. Tonight Percy was supposed to take her to dinner, but she had no idea where, just that she was supposed to wear the red dress in her closet that Percy loved so much. Percy had told her that his mom and Paul were going away for the weekend so he had the house to himself, she wasn't sure if that meant they could go back there and be alone, which would be the first time since they shared the hotel room together almost three weeks ago. Annabeth really just wanted to go out on a nice date with her boyfriend and not have to worry about her mom, or anything else.
"Alright I think that's everything" Annabeth said zipping her suitcase.
"Awesome let's do your hair, kelp head is supposed to be here in an hour" Thalia said.
Forty minutes later Annabeth stood in front of her mirror wearing a strapless red dress that went right below her knees with black flats, Thalia had left her hair curly and flowing down her back but pulled her bangs back. Annabeth never liked wearing make-up but right now she was wearing mascara, eye-liner and a little bit of blush with some lip gloss.
"You my friend look hot" Thalia said from behind her.
Annabeth laughed "Thanks Thals, I love what you did with my hair".
Thalia just shrugged her shoulders "Your welcome Annie, I should get going though, I'm meeting Luke soon, and kelp head should be here any minute. I'll see you tomorrow".
Annabeth hugged her friend "See you tomorrow" Annabeth said as her friend left the bedroom. Checking the mirror one last time she grabbed her phone and wallet, heading downstairs to wait for Percy.
"Oh Annabeth you look gorgeous" Susan said smiling at her as she looked up from her book on the couch.
"Thank you" Annabeth smiled "What do you and dad have planned tonight since the twins and I'll be out?"
"Your dad is making a romantic dinner. Or should I say trying to, we both know how he is in the kitchen" Susan said with a laugh.
Annabeth laughed "He's never been much of a cook, but at least he's trying".
"Yes it's always the thought that counts, I have an order at our favorite Chinese place set to the side just in case though. But we won't tell your father that" Susan said.
Before Annabeth could reply someone rang the doorbell. "That must be Percy, have fun tonight Annabeth" Susan said smiling.
"Thanks you to Susan" Annabeth said moving towards the door.
Percy stood on the other side of the door wearing grey dress pants with a dark charcoal grey button up shirt, his hair was as messy as always, but that was something that Annabeth loved about him.
Percy's smile widened when he saw her "Wow…. You….wow" Percy said with a goofy grin.
Annabeth smirked "Way to use proper grammar seaweed brain. But thank you anyways; you don't look too bad yourself".
"Sorry, it's just every time I see you in this dress I lose the ability to use proper words for a minute. You look gorgeous Annabeth" Percy said finally able to get his ability to speak back.
Annabeth smiled stepping out of the house closing the door behind her; Percy immediately grabbed her hand intertwining their fingers "So where exactly are we going?"
"I told you it's a surprise" Percy said opening the car door for her.
"You know I hate surprises Percy, just tell me" Annabeth said ignoring the fact that she was supposed to get in the car.
Percy just kept smiling "Just get in the car Wise Girl, I promise that you'll love this surprise".
Annabeth huffed in annoyance but got in the car anyways, Percy just grinned closing the door before running around the car to get in his side. "Okay seriously Percy, I need to know where were going".
Percy laughed "No you don't, you just think you do because you like being in control of everything. Just trust me for once in your life".
"But…"
"And if you keep asking about it you won't be getting any desert tonight" Percy said with a mischievous wink.
Annabeth's eyes widened "Are you seriously going to deny that of me if I keep asking you about where were going?"
Percy nodded his head "Yup".
"Shouldn't that threat be the other way around, usually the girl threatens the guy with it" Annabeth said still in shock.
"Well I'm changing it around, but you can stop asking me about it now" Percy said stopping the car.
"What do you mean?" Annabeth asked.
"Were here" Percy said getting out of the car and moving around to open her door for her.
"What?" Annabeth said shocked.
"You said it was one of your favorite restaurants, and last week you said you've wanted to come here. So to make your last night here romantic, fun, and incredibly cheesy I talked my dad into pulling some strings for me" Percy said like it was nothing.
But it was something; Del Posto was supposed to be the most amazing Italian restaurant ever, and one of Annabeth's absolute favorites.
Annabeth threw her arms around his neck kissing him softly on the mouth surprising Percy at first, but he quickly recovered wrapping his arms around her waist and kissing her back.
"You're incredible" Annabeth said pulling away.
Percy smiled "I just have connections. Come on let's get inside". He said taking her hand and leading her into the restaurant.
"Hello and how may I help you this evening" A young brunette hostess asked.
"Reservation for Jackson" Percy said moving his arm around Annabeth's waist.
"Yes right this way" she said grabbing a couple menus and leading them to a table for two in a slightly private area in the back of the restaurant. "Your waitress shall be with you shortly" the hostess said placing the menus on the table.
"Thank you" Percy said as they sat down.
"This is absolutely amazing Percy, thank you so much" Annabeth said.
Percy smiled "I wanted your last night here before your gone for a very long week to be special and memorable".
"Trust me it's proving to be very memorable" she said smiling at him.
After eating at the restaurant Percy drove them back to his house "What do you want to do now wise girl?" Percy asked as they walked into the empty house.
"I'm pretty sure you know what I want to do seaweed brain" Annabeth said coyly.
Percy didn't say anything as he stepped towards her cupping her face in his hands moving his lips towards hers "I've wanted to do this all night" Percy whispered before pressing his lips onto hers in a heated passionate kiss.
Resting her head on Percy's chest she couldn't help but smile.
"What are you thinking about?" Percy asked as he played with her hair.
Annabeth moved her head slightly so she could look into his eyes "That I don't want to go home, I'd rather stay here with you".
"Think your parents would go for that?"
Annabeth snorted "My dad diffidently won't, but I think I could talk Susan into lying for me, especially if it meant her and my dad would have the house to themselves all night".
"Well what are you waiting for make the call already" Percy said smiling.
Annabeth laughed sitting up in the bed wrapping the sheet around her she stood up "How about you go get us some food and I'll make the call".
"Deal, I need some more energy for round two anyways, I'll be back" he said pulling on a pair of shorts, kissing her lightly on the lips Percy left the bedroom.
"Hello" Susan answered.
"Hey I was wondering if I could stay the night with Percy but if you could tell my dad I'm at Thalia's so he doesn't freak out" Annabeth said quickly.
"I'm pretty sure that can be arranged. Are Percy's parents there?" Susan asked.
"No there away for the weekend" Annabeth answered honestly.
"You are being careful right?" Susan asked concerned.
Annabeth knew her face was getting red "Yes, of course we are".
"Okay, I'm just making sure. Don't worry about a thing I'll tell your father you're with Thalia. Just be responsible Annabeth".
"Thank you so much, and we will be" Annabeth said hanging up the phone.
"So I grabbed some vitamin water along with crackers and grapes, since you insist on eating healthy food" Percy said as he entered the bedroom.
Annabeth smiled "Unlike you I can't eat a bag of chips and not gain weight. I've gotta keep this figure somehow".
"And I absolutely love your figure. What did Susan say?" Percy asked setting the food down.
"She's going to cover with my dad" Annabeth said.
Percy grinned wrapping his arms around her waist "That's good because I'm diffidently ready for round two".
Annabeth smiled "Well those snacks will have to wait a minute then wont they".
"Oh trust me they'll be waiting a lot longer than a minute" Percy said kissing her hard on the mouth.
