"So can we hurry up and start this battle." Alex said calmly.
"We might as well get this over with. I need to teach you a lesson." Brandon said calmly as he held out his Pokeballs.
"Um Brendan you really don't have to battle her. She gave me my Ralts back so there's no real point is there?" Wally said.
"Just let me handle her. She needs to be taught somethings about respect. And I'm just the guy to do it." Brandon said.
"Why is it that cute guys like yourself always take things way to seriously. Honestly the only thing you've got going for yourself is the fact that your not bad on the eyes. At least grass head here was fun to tease." Alex said looking annoyed.
I wish that Alex girl would stop calling Brandon cute. It's annoying as hell. May thought while glaring daggers at Alex.
Uh oh. Looks like May's getting jealous. Talk about scary. Wally thought
Brendan grabbed a pokeball and said "let's go Ninjask."
"Ninjask." his pokemon buzzed while zooming around above their heads.
"How's a three on three battle sound? I know I said earlier let's do two on two but three on three seems more fun besides the way I see it I can use my Frodiger a bit more this way." Alex asked. As she brought back out her Frogadier again.
"Frogadier!" the water type said looking excited at battling again so soon.
"Sounds wonderful. More fun for me anyway" Brendan replied.
"Excellent. Then in that case you can have the first move." Alex said.
"Thank you. Ninjask use slash!" Brendan said.
Faster then the eye could follow Ninjask shot forward and slashed Frogadier with one of its sharp arms and made Frogadier groan.
"Dier!" Frogadier groaned.
"Use water pulse Frogadier!" Alex said.
"Slash right through it and use giga drain." Brendan said.
Frogadier threw a blue watery sphere at Ninjask who slashed right threw it and then started circling around Frogadier.
Green energy strands connected to Frogadier and started to drain it's health.
Unlike before with Grovyle's absorb, giga drain made Frogadier cry out in pain.
"Protean is a powerful ability but it's also a double edged sword." Brendan said.
"So your smart along with being cute. I think I'm starting to like you. Frogadier get away with quick attack!" Alex said while ignoring the small growl that was coming from May.
Frogadier leapt away from the giga drain barrage but Ninjask easily kept up and delivered another slash to the blue water type.
"Ice beam!" Alex said.
Frogadier launched a strong beam of ice that hit Ninjask due to it being so close and made the fast bug type buzz in pain.
"Follow it up with another!" Alex said.
"Protect." Brendan said still completely calm.
Frogadier's ice beam was stopped when it hit a green barrier that surrounded Ninjask, giving the fast bug type time to get back into the air.
"Frogadier use ice beam again!" Alex said.
Brendan smirked and said "dodge it and use metal claw."
The green barrier that was protecting Ninjask disappeared but the fast bug type was more then ready to dodge the ice beam.
Ninjask then shot forward and was in front of Frogadier before anyone could so much as breath, it's insect legs now glowing silver and it slashed Frogadier and sent the water type flying back.
"Looks like Frogadier's out." Brendan said.
"Doesn't mean anything. He was still tired from fighting Mr. Radioactive over there." Alex said.
"Sounds like someone's making excuses." May teased.
"Your second pokemon." Brendan said before Alex could say anything.
"Right. Come out Growlithe." Alex said.
Out of her pokeball was a small orange pokemon with black stripes. It had cream colored fur on its muzzle, stomach, and tail.
"Growlithe! Growl Growl!" the pokemon barked.
Brendan returned his Ninjask and said "Linoone let's go."
"I didn't know Brendan had a Linoone." Wally said to May.
"Yeah I saw Brendan catch it when it was still a Zigzagoon." May said back.
"You can have the first move this time." Brendan said.
"Such a gentleman. Growlithe use flamethrower!" Alex said.
"Dig!" Brendan said.
Growlithe launched a jet of flames at Linoone who quickly leapt into the air and dug underground.
"Shoot a flamethrower down the hole!" Alex said.
Growlithe ran over to the hole Linoone made and shot another flamethrower down the hole.
"Noone!" Linoone cried as it shot to the surface surrounded by flames.
"Shake them off with quick attack!" Brendan said.
Linoone shot right at Growlithe, so fast the the flames were snuffed out, and slammed into the fire type.
"Crunch!" Alex said.
Growlithe bit down hard on Linoone's side causing him to let out a painful groan.
"Noone!" Linoone whimpered.
"Thunderbolt." Brendan said.
Linoone launched a thunderbolt that caused Growlithe to release it's hole and whimper.
"Now iron tail." Brendan said.
Linoone quickly whipped his tail at Growlithe, hitting the fire type in the face and knocking it back.
"Growlithe use close combat!" Alex said.
Growlithe shot forward and started to pummel Linoone with rapid strikes from all four legs and caused Linoone to cry out with every strike.
When the barrage ended Linoone was just laying there.
"Looks like your out." Alex said.
"Don't worry Brendan you'll pull through this!" May said.
Brendan smiled at May while returning Linoon and said to his pokeball "you did great Linoone."
"So we're both down one pokemon. I can't wait to see who your going to choose next." Alex said.
"Then may I introduce you to my starter. Come out Marshtomp!" Brendan said.
"Marshtomp!" Brendan"s starter roared when he was released.
"I'm just seeing all kinds of new pokemon today." Alex said.
"Well stick around and you may learn something too." Brendan said.
Alex smirked and said "Growlithe use sunny day!"
Growlithe howled towards the sun and moments later the sun grew brighter and hotter.
Watch out for solar beam!" May warned remembering how Nikki used sunny day and then solarbeam to beat Brendan and his Marshtomp.
"Don't worry. Growlithe can't learn solar beam. Only it's evolved form can." Brendan said.
"Yes but unfortunately this little guy just won't evolve. We've been training like crazy but he just won't evolve." Alex said with a frustrated huff.
"You do know you need a fire stone to evolve a Growlithe right?" Brendan asked.
Alex stood completely motionless and said "Growlithe use take down!"
May and Wally burst out laughing and Brendan said "Marshtomp brick break!"
Marshtomp rushed forward and was hit in the stomach by Growlithe's take down but fortunately managed to deliver a strong chop to Growlithe's back before jumping away and clutching his stomach.
"Use mud shot!" Brendan said.
"Dodge them all and use take down again!" Alex said.
Growlithe tried to dodge all of the balls of mud that Marshtomp launched but couldn't and was struck, caking its fur with mud and making the fire type cry out.
"Finish up with brick break!" Brendan said.
Marshtomp rushed forward and struck Growlithe knocking it down.
"And that's two." Brendan said.
"I suppose it is." Alex said.
"So who do you have last?" Brendan asked before returning his Marshtomp for his Ninjask.
"Let me show you." Alex said after returning her Growlithe.
She threw her third pokeball and out was another strange pokemon.
It was a small pokemon with a dark purple body and eyes that looked like gemstones. It also had a red stone on its chest and what looked like a ruby, sapphire, and emerald sticking out of its back. It also wore a necklace with a stone attached to it.
"Sableye." it said.
"Well let's see how that will do against me. Ninjask use aerial ace!" Brendan said.
"Will-o-wisp!" Alex said.
Sableye launched a blue fire ball that collided with Ninjask's aerial ace and sent the fast bug type flying back.
"Jask." Ninjask buzzed angrily.
"Use giga drain Ninjask." Brendan said.
"Will O Wisp again!"Alex said.
Before Ninjask could do anything, Sableye appeared behind it and threw a blue ball of fire into NInjask burning the Pokemon.
"Jask!" Ninjask buzzed in pain.
"Perfect now Ninjask is burned. We have to try and finish this fast then. Ninjask use swords dance!" Brendon said annoyed as his Ninjask.
Ninjask's front legs started glowing red and it started to spin it's front legs around in some kind of weird, aerial dance.
"Now let's use aerial ace!" Brendan said.
"It won't do you any good. Now Sableye use confuse ray." Alex said.
However before either Sableye or Ninjask could move a powerful blast of flames was shot down from above which caused Sableye to jump back. Unfortunately Ninjask wasn't to lucky and was knocked out from the strong flames
Then from above, was a boy who looked like he was a few years older then the four of them landed on the back of a huge black pokemon that May had never seen before, but sitting on the the boys shoulder was a pokemon that May did recognize as an Eevee.
"Hello Alex." The boy said coldly.
"Oh uh big bro. Hehe, what brings you here on this fine day." Alex said sheeply.
Big Bro? Brendon thought surprised.
The Eevee that was on the boys shoulder jumped off and ran over to Alex and jumped into her arms.
"Vee!" Eevee said happily snuggling with Alex.
"What were you up to sister. It almost looked like you were going to use it." The boy said scolded.
"Huh well maybe a little. It's not like I would've beaten them too bad." Alex said.
"I swear your being so ignorant right now. Did it ever occur to you that if you weren't careful you could've lost that battle." The boy said.
"Lost? How would I have lost. I don't know how much you were watching but Sableye was out speeding everything. That boy didn't have a chance." Alex said.
"Stop being so cocky sis! I swear if you keep underestimating your opponents then they'll make a fool of you." the boy said.
"Hey, buddy." Brendon began looking slightly annoyed at something.
"Yes is something wrong with you? No wait don't tell me. My little sister did something that pissed you off?" the boy guessed.
"Well yes but that's really not the reason why I'm talking to you." Brendon said
"Well what is your reason then?" The boy asked
"It's just that when you showed up, you shot down a Flamethrower. And you not only interuped our battle but you and hit my Ninjask with your attack and knocked him out." Brendon said annoyed.
"It's your fault for having such a weak Ninjask Mr. Cocky Trainer." Alex said laughing.
"Flamethrower on Sableye." the boy said sounding really annoyed.
The large black pokemon turned to Sableye and launched a powerful jet of flames that knocked the dark purple pokemon out.
"Ah my Sableye!" Alex said dropping Eevee and running over to her pokemon.
"Eevee!" the small brown pokemon pouted after being dropped.
"Why did you do that? Talk about rude." Alex angrily said to her brother.
"It's your fault for being weak." the boy said imitating his sisters voice.
"That's just messed up!" Alex said with a pout as she returned Sableye.
"No messed up was you dropping my Eevee." the boy said.
"Vee!" Eevee said in agreement.
"You say this bro but of all the people, you're really not one to talk Mr. Runner up in the Sinnoh league." Alex taunted.
"I made it a hell of a lot farther then you'll make it if you keep up that attitude."
Runner up in the Sinnoh League? Just who the hell is this guy? Brendon thought confused, but also impressed that his guy made it that far into the Sinnoh League.
"Hold on you're Earnest aren't you?" Wally said surprising everyone.
"Yea that's my name I suppose." Earnest said putting his hands behind his head.
"Hey Wally you know this guy?" May asked.
"I know of him. I remember watching the Sinnoh League a couple of months ago. He made it to the finals without a single one of his pokemon being knocked out. He lost to this girl in the finals, Dawn I think her name was, but it was an incredibly close battle." Wally explained.
"Oh yea I think I've heard of that." Brendon said.
"Never heard of it in my life." May said laughing.
"How stupid are you!" Alex said.
"At least I didn't forget how to evolve my Pokemon!" May yelled back.
"There's like a million different Pokemon. Forgive me for not being some nerd who memorizes every way to evolve then!" Alex said.
Well that girl seems to remind me of Dawn. Especially in that temper and sometimes denseness attitude. How interesting. Earnest thought with a smirk.
"Oh and before any of you say anything to my brother about his lost, I think I should warn you that he only lost because his opponent got lucky and it totally looked suspicious so she probably cheated her way into beating my brother." Alex said.
"No way, it didn't look like that on TV." Wally said surprised.
"SO are you saying that he should've won that battle against that Dawn girl?" Brendan asked.
"That's right. "There's no way my brother actually lost in a fair battle." Alex said.
"Oh no I totally lost that battle. Fair and square." Earnest said calmly as Alex fell on her face.
"Vee" Eevee laughed before it jumped up onto Earnest's shoulder.
"Please stop doing that in public." Earnest said blushing a bit.
"Oh wow it's so cute." May squealed.
"Yeah you defiantly remind me of her all right." Earnest said sighing.
"Who?" May asked.
"Dawn. After she beat me we met up a few times before she went to the Kanto region." Earnest said with a smile.
"Really. hey if that's the case then wanna battle!" May said getting excited.
Earnest chuckled and said "no offense but I made it all the way to the finals in the Sinnoh League and I've been told before that I don't know how to hold back."
"Come on please." May begged.
"Go for it bro. It'll be hilarious." Alex encouraged her brother.
"Shut up Alex. If I did that then I'd be no better then you. How many badges do you have girl?" Earnest asked.
"Three" May said proudly.
"Just three huh. What about your friends here. Are they around your level? Earnest asked.
"You we all are about close in skill." May said.
"I see. And you were going to go full force on two of them?" Earnest said looking at Alex annoyed.
"Well I didn't. Besides at least I didn't go to hard." Alex said sighing.
"Hold on are telling me that she was holding back?" Bendon asked annoyed.
"What's it to you?" Alex asked.
"Holding back wouldn't be the right term here. See my sister has a lot of potential but she's not really living up to it. If she was actually focusing on her journey she could easily have six badges by now. But instead, she spends most of her time teaching her pokemon bad moves and not evolving certain pokemon."
"Hey! Sableye is about as strong as it can get when it comes to moves." Alex protested.
"Yes but Sableye has it's weaknesses. I'll tell you right now, if that boy had a Pokemon with the move taunt then you would be done for. If he didn't have then yes you would've most likely won but if he did have one you'd be finished." Earnest said.
"So Brendan could've won. Figures he'd have a counter." May said happily.
Yeah. I just wish I had a pokemon that did have taunt." Brendan said looking embarrassed.
That look on the boys face. He didn't have Taunt did he? Well the girl may remind me of Dawn but this kid is a little different from Lucas. Still he is strong as is the girl. As for if he were to fininsh his battle with my sister. Well honestly I don't know how it would turn out. But still these three are interesting. Earnest thought.
"You said you wanted to battle me right girl." Earnest said.
"You bet!" May said happily.
"Fine but only one on one. You ready Eevee." Earnest asked.
"Eevee!" the little brown fur ball said before jumping down from Earnest's shoulder.
"Okay so a normal type huh and it's just a little Eevee. Okay then go Combusken!" May said as she sent out her starter Pokemon.
"Fire and fighting huh. Well then the first move is your's" Earnest said.
"Okay then use Double Kick!" May said.
Combuskin ran up to Eevee and swung it's leg at Eevee but the little pokemon quickly leapt out of the way.
"Now DIg!" Earnest said.
Eevee leapt into the air and then quickly dove underground.
Combusken looked around, not sure where Eevee would pop up from.
The ground beneath Combusken's feet broke and Eevee slammed it's back legs right into Combusken's chin, making him stumble back but it didn't look like it caused much damage.
"Now let's use flame charge!" May said.
"Let it hit!" Earnest said.
"Vee" Eevee said as it got slammed into Combuskin and got knocked backwards but landed on its feet, looking no worse for ware.
"Eevee just took the hit? Is this a test or something." May asked.
"It may be." Earnest said.
"FIne you'll regret that. Combuskin use Ember!" May said as Combuskin shot Eevee with a barrage of fireballs.
"What's your game?" Wally asked annoyed.
"Game?" Just what are you talking about?" Earnest said calmly.
"Right now your battling like someone who only has one badge not a runner up for a tournament. I mean I saw you on TV and you were battling completely different." Wally said.
"Yea your right. I as just testing her so I told my Eevee to hold back that's all. But I suppose that was obvious. Okay then tell you what. I'll either make Eevee battle at full power or I'll hold back some more and just battle at the level of someone with three badges." Earnest said.
"No that's fine, I wanna see your best." May said.
"Alright but don't say I didn't warn you. Eevee use return." Earnest said.
"Watch out Combusken!" May said.
Unfortunately May's warning did nothing to help Combusken.
Eevee started glowing white and shot forward and hit Combusken with a tackle that sent him flying right into a tree and knocked him out.
"No way! What just happened?" May said shocked at that little Eevee's power.
"It was a good effort but the gap is to big. Though it was fun. Don't be ashamed, for someone with three badges it's only natural for there to be a gap and I can tell if you keep training hard you'll get better." Earnest said.
"Great so should we leave now brother." Alex asked.
"Well I'm leaving but you're going to continue training. Look I'm busy Alex so try not to cause anymore trouble." Earnest said.
"FIne fine I was just having fun. Anyway I'll make sure to perfect my new moves, train some more Pokemon up and evolve my guys and all that stuff." Alex said.
"Right catch!" Earnest said as he tossed his sister a red stone.
"Fire stone huh?" Alex said.
"Use it when you think Growlithe is ready." Earnest said calmly.
"You got it." Alex said putting the fire stone in her pocket.
"Hold on, Mister why did you even come here?" Wally asked.
"Well a friend of mine asked me to investigate a few things here. Since I didn't have anything better to do I figured I'd help him out. I'll probably be here for a while so maybe I'll run into you guys again." Earnest said before he mounted his Charizard and flew away.
"Interesting guy huh." Brendan said.
"Yea I know and he's super strong." May said.
"Well of course. He is my brother after all." Alex said proudly.
"I see. So now do you wanna finish the battle?" Brendan asked.
"Nah I got boared with that. You're no fun to mess with. If me meet again I'll battle green head but only him. He's fun and I wanna see him get stronger." Alex said laughing.
"But why me?" Wally asked.
Alex walked up and starred at his face and said "because your fun to tease. And I can tell that you've got a lot of potential." Alex said before she stood on her toes and kissed Wally's cheek.
Wally stood there in shock which made Alex and May giggle.
Alex turned to walk away but said "and take care of that Ralts grass head. See you later dork."
"What the?" Wally said, his face turning bright red.
"How the hell can she do that so casually!" May said shocked.
"Some girls are able to do that just to mess with people. I doubt it means anything and knowing her, she did it to joke around with Wally and see his reaction. And judging by Wally's reaction, it looks like that worked." Brendan said sighing.
"Huh oh right I suppose. Man she's weird and kinda scary. But you know guys I don't think she's a bad person. I mean she helped us out and I think she just likes having fun." Wally said laughing a bit.
"I suppose so though kissing you out of no where is still pretty messed up." May said shaking her head.
"All people are different May. She just enjoys joking around." Brendan said.
"Yea I suppose it's just how she acts. Though she seems different from her brother." Wally said.
"The brothers fine. I just don't like Alex. Anyway can we get going? I wanna forget about that girl." May said.
"Somehow I doubt that will be an option." Brendan said.
"Yea but I look forward to battling her again. I look forward to showing her that I'm not just some little kid. And training this Ralts is just the beginning." Wally said as he held out his new pokeball.
A/N to anyone who doesn't know, my first pokemon story was a Platinum story with Dawn as the main character.
Instead of just having someone pass through Victory Road to challange the elite four I chose to take a page from the anime and had a tournament.
Earnest is a O.C from my friend RPG1115 who also helps me with my chapters.
I'm also going to try to get my next chapter up faster.
