Chapter 25 – Night of Romance
EPOV
Bella has been through a lot in the last little while; I don't know how she has managed to stay so sane through all of this. If it were me in her place, I would have run off screaming a long time ago and I never would have looked back. I will have to do something extra special tonight. I don't know what exactly but I want to make sure Bella knows just how loved she is.
While I waited at home for Bella's focus time to be over and news about the possible meeting, I filled Carlisle in on what Bella was doing. "She said that she has to get the shape-shifters involved if she can Carlisle, and she says that I have to be there to show the Elders what her proof is. I don't know if they will even amend the Treaty even a little to allow this. I didn't want to tell her that it was a possibility in case it caused doubt in her mind. She is so sure that they will allow this meeting to go through."
"Edward, have some faith in Bella, she may be able to persuade them into letting you be there."
"She did tell Billy Black that she wanted me there and from what I understand from the conversation, her being upfront about knowing that me even being there is breaking the treaty between us. But Billy seemed confident enough that it would be enough. I just don't think it will be." I said.
"As I said son, just have some faith that all will work out for the best. Regardless of the outcome, there is a reason for everything and if it is meant to be then it will be."
"Preaching was never your forte Carlisle. Best to stick with medicine and be thankful the church never did call to you." I smiled.
Carlisle just gave me a playful jab in the arm. "That's for the church reference."
CPOV
"On a serious note Edward, I called the Denali's, and I spoke with Eleazar." I said.
"And?"
~*~ BEGIN PHONE CALL RECAP ~*~
"Eleazar, its Carlisle. How are you my friend?" I said.
"Carlisle, it's been too long. Things are good here my friend, how are things with you and your family?"
"Not good Eleazar, not good at all. I need you and your family to come to Forks as soon as possible."
"Carlisle what is going on?" Eleazar said.
"Do you remember Bella? That little girl Aro brought with him all those years ago?"
"The one I said was a shield, yeah I remember her. What is going on?"
"Eleazar, I promised Bella that I would let her explain it all to you. She will be able to offer you proof... I am not explaining myself very well. Listen, our families and others of our kind are in mortal danger we need your help to stand by our side through this. Will you come?"
"We will come but only to hear what is going on and then we will decide from there. I make no promises Carlisle; you know we don't like to involve ourselves unless we absolutely have to."
"I understand Eleazar, all I ask is that you come and hear for yourself what is going on."

"That is all we can ask for Edward. I don't think Bella expects anything more than that."
EPOV
Of course Carlisle was right, I know Bella well enough to know that she would want to at least be heard, nothing more and nothing less. Hopefully they do stand with us, because Kate has some serious powers that could help.
So leaving me to my thoughts, I thought about Bella, I know she has been stressed out to the max and I wanted her to have a night of relaxation and a bit of romance thrown into the mix. So I plotted with Alice to make a special night for Bella.
"Alice, I want rose petals from the front door leading to the bathroom and from the bathroom to the bedroom..."
Alice interrupted me. "Edward don't worry about anything, it will be perfect. All you have to do is follow exactly what I tell you." She proceeded to tell me exactly what she had thought up.
After everything was in order, I realized what time it was and I set out to meet Bella at the Great Hall in La Push. I contemplated on running but that would leave me vulnerable to the wolves, so I opted for the Volvo instead. At least I would have the protection of my car until I got out of it. As you can imagine, there were a lot of stares as I drove by. Finally I pulled up to the Great Hall but I didn't see Bella's car there so I waited inside my car, until she got there. No I am not a chicken shit but I know when to cover my ass and when not to, this was a time to make sure my ass was fully covered and not exposed to a pack of vampire hungry wolves.
I didn't have to wait too long, Bella showed up no more than 2 minutes later. I got out of my car and kissed her cheek, "How are Jake and Eric?"
"They want us to witness for them in a civil union ceremony and I said we would. That's if we make it out of this alive that is. Oh and they said they would stand by us in this battle regardless of the outcome of this meeting. Now… let's hope the Elders will allow the rest of the Shape-shifters as well."
Wow a civil union... good for them. I do hope that we make it out of this alive. I would hate to think that I only have Bella for only a short amount of time. I was thinking of how I would love to marry this woman when we get out of this, but I wonder will we have that luxury. I want to feel what it would be like to be with her, to have her, to truly make her mine... I was barely registering what Billy was saying to Bella on a conscious level until my name was said.
"Edward, do everything that Bella does but only after her. This is her destiny, you are only along for the ride, so that means you need to be secondary to her; follow her every move after she makes said move."
"Thank you Billy, every little bit helps." Bella said before I could even reply to his statement
"Good luck Bella, Good luck to you too Edward. I will see you inside." With that he turned and went into the great hall.
Just as Bella was about to enter, I pulled her into my arms and said, "Tonight I would like to spend the evening just you and me at your place, I have something very special planned." Then I let her go and took her hand and led her through the huge door.
Past another set of doors at the end of a short hallway, I could hear the thoughts of the Elders. "What is the meaning of this meeting?" "I am being pulled away from my family?" "What is that awful smell, it smells of bloodsucker." When I reached the doors I followed Bella's lead and removed my shoes and stood just behind Bella and waited.
"Isabella Marie Swan daughter of Charlie and Rene Swan please step into the great hall." She grabbed my hand and we walked into the great hall, both she and I knelt in front of them with our hands on our laps.
"What is the meaning of this, by what right do you bring HIM to our great hall?" Uley said to my Bella. "I did smell bloodsucker. What is she doing with a leach like him?"
In a voice so low I whispered Uley to her. "Elder Uley, forgive my ignorance with regards to your treaty with the Cullen's but I bring with me Edward Cullen for a reason. But before I explain why I did it, it would please me to know what the Elders have already been told as to the urgency of this meeting. It would also please me to know what information has already been given to the Elders, the Elder council of the Quileute tribe. The Quileute's of La Push Washington. This way I will be able to please the Elders by eliminating any useless information that is already known, and give only the information that is NEEDED."
"There should never be any valid reason to break a Treaty by bringing in THAT bloodsucker. There is nothing she could say or do that will change my mind as to why he should be here." Thought Uley.
"Bella, I have told them only of the upcoming battle for the supernatural world, and that is pretty much it." Billy said. "The only battle that I can foresee is one between the wolves and the bloodsuckers."
"Thank you Elder Black. Elder's Uley, Ateara, Clearwater and Black, I have come before you to request the presence of the Shape-shifters of the Quileute tribe to aid in my quest to remove the threat that has come up against the supernatural world." Bella said in a clear and powerful voice.
"What threat to the supernatural world could a leach lover like her be talking about? I can't believe the other Elders are even entertaining this further than need be."
For two hours I watched Bella hand out the papers she brought with her. She showed the Elders her powers, all of her powers. Finally she showed the prophecy that stated that we would be marked with the marking of her lineage as proof we were each other's other half. They finally realized the miss-guided attempts from this Wyatt person, to take over the supernatural world thus ending all of our lives.
They asked us to leave the Great hall in order to discuss the situation in further detail. I knew from their minds they decided, the moment Bella showed her powers, that they were on board but each didn't know what the other was thinking; only I did. They needed to verbally talk this out amongst themselves. I told Bella this a few times trying to reassure her, but she was still pacing back and forth.
Ten minutes later Billy came outside. "Bella, could you and Edward come back in please."
We followed Billy back into the great hall, after removing our shoes like before; we were motioned to come in by Billy. We knelt on our knees like before waiting for something to be said.
"Bella," Elder Uley said. "Will you and Edward please stand. We have come to a discussion about your problem. First of all Edward, as you know our treaty has been breached just by you being here," I lowered my head and nodded. "That being said, we have decided to amend the treaty." I looked into Sam's eyes, "Any vampires of the Cullen clan and the Denali clan shall be welcomed on our lands. And, if it is to be understood correctly, the only other vegetarian vampire is Aro," I nodded my head "He too is welcome onto this land. That is the decision of the Quileute Tribal council. Second of all, thank you Bella for respecting our ways and addressing us as any Quileute would. It is for your respect and honesty towards the Quileute's and its Elders, that we will grant your wish to have the shape-shifters help you in your battle."
Sam took my hand saying, "Trust is earned; respect is gained and friendship is grown. You have earned our trust and gained our respect so now let our friendship grow together my new friends." But he was thinking, "I never thought I would see the day when I am actually shaking hands with a bloodsucker."
"Love, let's get you home. We have a special evening a head of us." I led her to her car. "I will meet you at your place."
"Edward, supper is in the oven ready to be plated for Bella. Remember to stick to the plan and you will be enjoying your night." The pixie had a hint of smugness to her voice when she said that. I fired off a quick text to Alice thanking her. I reached the house before Bella did and I let myself in, I went to the kitchen and set the table with candles and set a single red rose in the center of the table. I hear Bella pull up to the house and went to greet her at the front door.
"Welcome home my love." I moved aside to admit her into her home. I took her coat from her and led her into the kitchen. I pulled out her chair for her and gently pushed in as she sat.
"Edward, when did you do this, you were with me all afternoon." She said with shock.
"Alice helped." I smiled at her.
"Well it's lovely, thank you."
"This is only the beginning love. I have a whole evening planned for you." As she ate, I cleaned up the dishes and put away any leftovers so that she didn't have to do it. "I will be right back love." And I set off upstairs to draw a bath. I put some jasmine scented bubble bath in the water and lit several vanilla scented candles around the bathroom. Believe it or not there is a method to my madness with the mixture of these scents.
I went back downstairs just as Bella was putting her dishes in the sink. "Leave that love, there is a nice hot bath waiting for you, go sit and relax in the tub while I finish up here. And when you are finished please call to me before you get dressed and/or head into your bedroom."
"Ok?!" she said. "Edward what are you up to?"
"Let me pamper you tonight Bella, you have been through so much recently, it is time to relax and let me take care of you for one night."
"Deal!" With that she went off upstairs to the bathroom.
Once I was finished, I went to her bedroom and saw all of the massage oils on the night stand. I picked through them taking out the one that had a light vanilla scent. I pushed the others aside. I set up candles all over her room and waited in the rocking chair in the corner for her to call me. I sat there thinking of what was to come and...
"Edward." Bella called.
I moved to the bathroom door with a robe in hand, I lightly knocked and opened it a little bit holding the bathrobe through the opening. "Put this on and meet me your room." I returned to her room.
By the time Bella showed up in her room 2 minutes later all of the candles were lit and there was some soft Zamfir playing the background. "You know Zamfir? I thought I was the only one." She said with a raised eyebrow.
"I saw your pan flutes and assumed you liked his music. Do you like it." I motioned around the room.
"It's very romantic." She smiled.
I walked over to her, taking her in my arms and kissing her deeply. Now that I couldn't hurt her I didn't have to hold back. As I pulled away, I pulled on the tie of her bathrobe. I used the other hand to make sure it didn't open in the front.
"Lie down on the bed on your stomach please." She did as I asked. I pulled the bathrobe off her shoulders and down her arms, stopping just above her butt, leaving her back exposed. I pulled the bathrobe up so that it bunched just under her butt cheeks, leaving everything but her butt area exposed.
"Edward what are you...?" she asked in surprise, rising up on to her elbows.
"I am going to massage you love. I told you, you need to relax and be pampered tonight. Let me do this for you."
She relented by laying back down giving me proper massage access. I took the oil and put some in the palm of my hand, rubbed them together and started massaging her back. I moved up and down her back, I kneaded the knots out of her shoulders and lower back. I massaged her feet, her lower legs and then her upper legs taking in the smooth feel of her skin as I went. Once I was done with that, I debated if I should do her front, I almost didn't but want and need won over. I flipped her over making sure to keep her private areas private.
I took more massage oil into my hands and started from the front of her feet and worked my way up her legs. I got higher and higher waiting for the feel of hair between her legs to indicate when I went too far. What I felt instead is bare skin as my fingers rubbed against her sex, Bella let out a soft moan. Not wanting to do anything ungentlemanly I quickly bypassed that area landing at her tummy but the "damage" was already done, I could feel my growing need for her.
