A/N: Something happened with the voting and I honestly was not planning for it. Between the PM's and the reviews, we have a total tie. 6 each. So a couple of readers suggested combining the names, ergo everyone wins. When I pick Japanese names for my OC's, I try to look at their meaning and see if it fits the character or situation I am creating. If any of you would like to know what everyone's name means, I will supply them. I actually have a list because this story has so many OC and I need to keep them straight. LOL. Enjoy the new chapter!

A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT VOTED AND FOR MTNIKOLLE FOR WORKING WITH THE SHADOW KING TO KEEP COUNT! I promise that no harm will befall you from Kyoya. I will be the only one leaving their home country.

Counts: Tamaki – 80, Hikaru – 28, Kaoru – 27, Kyoya – 4 (I should probably say my prayers. Maybe you should too. I need to live long enough to finish this story… and my others), Mori – 4, Hunny – 2. A couple of people asked about Chika and Satoshi. We haven't been keeping count because poor Chika gets hit enough due to Satoshi… should we start?

Chapter 24 – Two New Babies

Hunny and Sachiko went home in the early hours of the morning after Chika's wife, Kiku, delivered their new little baby girl, Yasuko (which means peaceful child dear reader, for those that want to know). They were exhausted and after checking on their sleeping son and finding him passed out in bed with Usa-Chan, they returned their own room and allowed themselves to succumb to oblivion.

They needed to talk to their son about the baby. If Mitsuo truly did not want her for a sister, the parents would then allow her to go to another home and just help support her financially until she was adopted; however, as they drifted off to sleep, they hoped and prayed Mitsuo still wanted a little sister and would accept the little abandoned baby with opens arms.

A sensation of being in the middle of an ocean, or at least sleeping on a trampoline, ripped Hunny out of his slumber and his dark aura started to circulate around him ready to be unleashed upon the unsuspecting fool that dare interrupt his slumber. Eyes and body only half awake, he scanned the room and found, much to his annoyance and joy, his son. With the darkness receding, he asked with a grin, "Mitsuo, what are you doing?"

"Mommy said to come wake you up. She said you won't attack me because I was too cute," the younger version of the father grinned as he jumped. Leaping high into the air, he landed on his butt and giggled with excitement. Crawling towards his drowsy parent, he said, "Get up daddy! Why did mommy say you wouldn't attack me? You're not mean. Uncle Tama, Uncle Hika, and Uncle Kaoru are meaner."

"They're not mean, they're just idiots sometimes."

"All the time! We always have to protect Aunt Haru!"

"Well, they do tend to lose their heads around her, especially Tama-Chan," Hunny chuckled with his son and started to tickle him. Sounds of laughter rang through the room.

Sachiko sat at the breakfast table and realized her son and husband had not yet returned, and knew they were probably goofing around. Walking into the master bedroom, she found herself leaning against the wall and quietly snickering as the father and son tickled each other and wrestled around. This was her family and the loves of her life, and she couldn't help but think the little girl lying in NICU would further complete it. It was just a feeling she had, and she knew Hunny shared it, but that baby belonged with the Haninozuka family.

Shaking her head, she called out, "You two realize that breakfast is getting cold?"

"Daddy says that's what a microwave is for," Mitsuo screamed his reply as he leaped onto his father once again.

Lifting his son as if he was bench pressing light weights, Hunny grinned, "We need to listen to mommy."

"Why?"

The father tilted his head back and gazed upon his wife's upside down form, "Because you are always supposed to listen to mommy."

"Why?"

"Because mommy's the boss," Hunny winked at his wife and then dropped his son onto the bed so that he bounced, and smiling when Mitsuo squealed with laughter. "Besides, we need to talk about something."

"Something bad?" The younger Haninozuka could feel the change in his father and knew whatever needed to be said was serious.

Hunny glanced at his wife again and then down at his son, "No, not bad."

Narrowing his eyes and studying his parents for a moment as his mother joined them on the bed, Mitsuo finally asked, "Is it about the sick baby? Are you going to make her all better and bring her home?"

Much like his father, Mitsuo had always been astute and aware of his surroundings… even when it seemed he was more clueless than naught (dear reader, he was just like his father in every way). Blinking, Hunny smiled softly and nodded, "Well, if that's alright with you, that's what will happen."

"Mitsuo, she is very sick and needs to have an operation, but she doesn't have any parents and we were thinking that we could be her parents and you could be her big brother," Sachiko further explained.

"I can protect her like Akio does for Hitomi!" The little boy announced.

Chuckling, Hunny nodded, "Yes, you can. Does this mean you still want a little sister?"

"YES!" Mitsuo excitedly jumped on his parents.

His mother shook her head, "Well that was easier than I thought it would be."

"When can I see my little sister? What is her name?" An eight year old was still a curious little boy and he had a lot of questions, "What kind of operation? Is she going to be ok? You just need to kiss it and make her hurts all better mommy."

"It isn't as simple as a scraped knee, Mitsuo," Hunny began. He glanced at his wife and when she nodded, he continued, "Her heart is hurt and so your Uncle Kyo…"

Mitsuo interrupted, "Uncle Kyo will make her all better? He can fix almost anything! He and Aunt Nobu!"

"Yes, when you're sick, Aunt Nobu gives you medicine to make you all better, but someone else needs to do the operation on the baby," Sachiko told her son.

"Who?"

Taking a deep breath, Hunny briefly wondered if he had ever acted this way and he immediately knew the answer… he had (I know what you're thinking dear reader, all of the hosts have). Ruffling his son's head, he continued, "Uncle Kyo called a specialist who will do the operation to make her better. Once she has the operation, we will need to be gentle with her at first, but she will be alright."

"What's her name? When can I see her?"

"I don't know if you can see her until after she has her operation, but we can ask Uncle Kyo. As for her name… well, she doesn't have one yet. We need to come up with a name. Mommy thought about Emi or Takara."

"Both!"

"Both?" The parents queried together confused.

"Takara Emi! I want both!"

"Mitsuo…" his mother began, but a hand on her arm stopped her. Gazing up at her husband, she watched him shake his head.

Hunny smiled at his son and then lifted him onto his lap. After kissed the little boy's silky hair, he said "I think that sounds like the perfect name for her. She is a treasure and a beautiful blessing." (There you go dear reader, both names combined! I hope you like it.)

"Both it is," Sachiko whispered and wiped a tear from her eye. This moment with her husband and son would be one she would remember for the rest of her life.

"What about my cousin? Did Aunt Kiku have her baby?" Mitsuo asked a few minutes later after he had been crushed in a family hug.

His grin widening, Hunny nodded, "Yep! Uncle Chika and Aunt Kiku had a little girl!"

"YAY! Now I get a baby sister and a new baby cousin!" The little boy was excited and jumped off the bed to announce the good news to the house, screaming down the hall.

Snickering, Hunny leaned over and gave his wife a kiss. When he pulled back, he whispered, "Have I told you how lucky I am to have married you or how much I love you? Thank you."

Sachiko's smile grew and she glowed, "You have, but I don't mind hearing it again. I love you too. Now I think we need to go and grab our son, eat some breakfast, and take him to meet his new little cousin."

"Agreed!" He helped his wife to her feet and they walked hand in hand to search out their son. Life was good.

The moment they entered the hospital, Mitsuo found Haruhi and her children walking towards the elevator and yelled, "Aunt Haru, Akio, Hitomi!"

"Don't scream Mitsuo. This is a hospital, we need to keep our voices down," Mori said from behind him.

Whipping around, he found his uncle and ran up to him. After the tall man had picked him up, he said, "Uncle Taka, guess what?"

"What?"

"I got a new baby sister!"

"No you don't. You have a new cousin that's a girl!" Akio corrected his best friend and cousin.

Shaking his head, he frowned, "No, I have a new baby sister too! Right mommy and daddy?"

"That's right Mitsuo," Hunny smiled. He walked up to Haruhi and spoke softly, "We talked to him this morning. We are going to move forward with the adoption."

"Really? But Aunt Sachiko didn't get big and round like mommy did!" Akio stated confused.

Kneeling down next to her son and daughter, Haruhi explained, "Your aunt and uncle are going to adopt and take home a baby who doesn't have any mommy or daddy to take care of her."

"Another girl?" Hitomi asked excitedly, and when she got the nod of confirmation, jumped onto her uncle and gave him a hug.

Akio's reaction was a little different, "Really, another girl? It couldn't be a boy?"

When the adults laughed, Sachiko bent down and told him, "Maybe next time, but at least your Uncle Kyoya had a boy. And who knows, your Uncle Tamaki might be having a boy. He is keeping the gender a secret. And your Uncle Satoshi is having a boy."

"True!" The little boy perked up. Maybe he wouldn't be so outnumbered after all.

The small brood made their way towards Kiku's room and knocked on the door. When they were allowed entry, they found Chika holding the new baby next to his sleeping wife. "Shh, both of them are sleeping."

Gathering around their uncle, the children were excited to see the new addition to their family. Chika knelt down carefully and showed off his new little princess before glancing over to his sister-in-law and asking, "Do you want to hold her? I hear you're going to need the practice again."

"Chika-Chan?" Hunny inquired.

The younger brother handed the baby over to Sachiko and placed a hand on his sibling's shoulder, "Kyoya told me about it. I'm proud of you, and excited too."

"You're not mad that…"

"Not at all. Maybe if we were still high school and middle school, but I know how much you two wanted another child and Kyoya explained the situation. She needs you, and I have a feeling you need her."

Hunny stared at his brother disbelievingly. While it was true they got along better now, he had not been expecting this.

"Don't look at me like that. I think I understand what you felt after Mitsuo was born and maybe, our daughters can be close growing up, the way we weren't." He punched his brother's shoulder, "But you better take care of her or else."

"You sound like Sachiko's father when I asked for her hand," the elder sibling snickered.

"What's her name? Kyoya said she didn't have one. I assume you and Sachiko came up with something."

"We were trying to decide between Takara and Emi."

"And?"

"Mitsuo decided she needed both. Her name is Takara Emi."

"I think it suits her. When is the surgery?"

"Tomorrow."

"Kiku gets out of the hospital tomorrow morning. I'm going to take her home and stay with her, will you call me and give us updates. She will want to know as well."

"I… will. Thank you Chika-Chan. Your support means more to me than you know."

Nodding, he left his brother standing there and went to retrieve his little girl. Chika could never get enough holding her, staring at her, watching his wife with her, and talking to her. Now he knew what it meant to be a parent, and he also knew that if his little Yasuko were in the same situation as Takara Emi, he would hope someone would watch out for her as well. If he was unable to be there because he had already ascended to the heavens, he would have prayed for someone to take care of his baby with his last breath of life, as he was sure Takara Emi's mother did before she died; and his brother had answered that call. Chika would support him and silently cheer him and Sachiko on for taking the initiative and giving the baby a home.

The next day, surgery lasted several hours, and when the surgeon finally emerged from the operating room, Hunny and Sachiko were surround by their friends, Hunny's father (dear reader his mother was waiting for news with Chika), and nurse Yuki who had come to wait after her shift was over. With baited breath they awaited the doctor's words, "Everything went great and Takara Emi is resting now. If the parents will come with me, I will allow you to see her." Hunny and Sachiko slowly stood up and followed the man that had saved the baby's life, their daughter's life.

Thanks to Kyoya and Yuuichi, the Haninozuka's were recognized by the hospital as the legal guardians of the once unnamed baby. And due to Haruhi's quick work, she received word before the operation had been completed that Hunny and Sachiko had been granted temporary emergency guardianship. It was the first step to making Takara Emi part of their family permanently.
