James, Harry and the marauders were all headed to the hospital the following weekend. James had yet to confront his wife about what he knew. He was furious and he wanted to ring her neck. But he knew that there was more to this and he needed to find out. They had returned the potion before it was found missing. Severus had altered it though, so that the potion wouldn't work. James had not gone to the hospital with them. He had simply gone at the same time. He had an appointment with the specialist they had seen when they started talking about babies.

Harry was anxious and not happy about the trip to the hospital. He had been promised that they would not make him go to the hospital. He had promised to give the therapy a few tries. But they had said the healer would come to him at school and speak.

Harry eyed the building. "No."

"It's okay cub." Remus tried.

"We are not leaving you here."

"You promised at school."

Remus sighed. "Just this time."

"She wants to meet you first."

Harry nervously went in. "You promise…."

Remus kissed his head. "You will come home."

The healer was waiting in a nice office. "You must be Harry."

Harry eyed her nervously. "Yes."

She looked at his dads. "You may accompany him for the first session."

Harry was worried. "I…."

Remus reminded him. "Nothing will make us leave you."

Sirius said. "Maybe you'd feel better if just one."

Harry looked at Remus. "Please."

Remus nodded. "Of course cub."

Sirius smiled in reassurance. "I will be here."

The healer had spoken to them a little bit. Usually she held therapy at her office but she was willing to come to the school, Andromeda was a good friend. But she had wanted to meet Harry here for the first time. Usually she encouraged the kids to come in alone for the sessions at least at first. But being told of Harry's fear of hospitals, she had agreed it may be good for a dad to come in with him. Sirius was not hurt or surprised Harry had chosen Remus. They both had a very strong bond with Harry but Remus' was a bit different at times.

James was down a floor below them and was waiting to meet with the fertility specialist there. He had seen the man only twice. They had gone to see if they needed help of some kind, and then when Lily found out she was pregnant. But he wondered if the man may have some ideas.

The man was surprised. "I didn't expect to see you."

"I wanted to know about the potions you gave my wife."

The man was surprised. "Why?"

"Did you give her the ovulation potions earlier? Before I met with you?"

"Ovulation potions?"

"I know she is further along than I thought. I suspect she was already pregnant when I came in."

The man was confused. "There is some confusion. I gave her no ovulation potions."

James stopped. "After our meeting, she started taking potions. I didn't know until she found out she was pregnant but…."

"James, the potions I gave your wife were for you."

James stopped. "I am sorry?"

"Your wife had no fertility issues. You do."

"I do? What do you mean? You said nothing."

"You came in for treatments."

James head spun. "I have met you twice."

"You came in for two administrations of the potion."

"What kind of potion?"

"I told you your fertility rate, you had a 5% chance of fathering another child."

James sunk into a stool. "So little? But the potions…."

"I told you two that there was little chance they would help but you insisted."

The doctor explained he had warned it may be a waist as James had serious hex and age issues. But they had come in for both treatments. James demanded to know if there was a way the healer could tell if he had taken the potions. James of course knew he had not been there. But he needed proof someone had been. The healer ran the test, saying there should be some trace. If James had been fertile enough to get Lily pregnant, there should be more than a trace. He confirmed for James though that there was no sign. He had been shocked when Lily managed to get pregnant so fast. He did have a vile of blood though from the last time he did the treatment. He wasn't certain that the man he thought to be James, knew.

James took the vile and he hoped that Severus could be convinced to run a test for him. If whoever had pretended to be him had used a polyjuice, his blood would still be his own DNA. He had no idea how he would convince Severus to ad him.

"James, what are you doing here?"

He turned. "Sirius. Could say the same."

Sirius motioned. "Harry."

"Is he okay?"

"We convinced him to see a mind healer."

James was relieved. "Good."

"You didn't answer."

James explained. "Now I have this."

"Give it to me."

James was confused. "Why?"

"I have a better chance of convincing Severus."

"You? Short memory?"

"Well maybe Moony."

James handed it. "Why?"

Sirius grunted. "Harry is being hurt too."

James for a moment saw a flash but said. "Thanks."

James would not push it. He could never ask either of the men to forgive him, any more than he could ask it of his son. He had allowed Albus to convince him he was doing the right thing. And when he had come back, he had still believed so. But seeing hos his son had suffered, and knowing what Sirius went through, he knew different. But he could admit he was grateful that the man would at least try and help.

Harry appeared and held to him but Moony said quietly. "She will be coming in a few days to talk with him again."

Harry had been scared but he had got through it. He was glad Moony had been there with him. The woman hadn't gone too deep into the talk. Harry found she was okay to talk to. He was worried when she started asking about Them. She wanted him to come alone next time, but agreed at school. As long as he was at school, Poppy and his dads not far, he would agree to a few more at least.

Severus had been surprised when he was given the bottle and he was told what it was. He could have almost laughed that either man asked for his help. But he had agreed to do it without Remus having to step in. He had shown he was willing to help when it affected Harry in some way.

Severus found James. "I have the results."

James turned. "And?"

"Albus."

James shook. "She slept….."

"He took your place at the appointments."

James knew. "But he may not have fathered it."

Severus agreed. "There is a way to tell."

James wondered. "How?"

Severus handed him parchment. "It only needs her blood."

"What will it do?"

"It will test her and the baby's blood and do a family tree."

James took it. "Thanks."

Severus turned to leave. "Never mention it."

James found his wife in their rooms. "Lily."

She looked up. "You came home."

James handed her the scroll. "I wished to show you this."

Lily swore as she cut her finger but she looked. "It is blank."

James motioned. "Not for long."

Lily was confused but she noticed the blood had dripped onto the paper. She saw her name appear and the baby appear under her. She could see a family tree growing around it. She smiled at first when she saw what was happening. She knew James had his doubts about the baby. She had taken the potion a few days before. It may not change the DNA, but the blood enough, it would fool such a charm as this.

James could see the look on her face and knew that she thought she had won. His eyes went to the tree and could see the branch for the father's name form. He wondered if it would be Albus but he had his doubts. He didn't think Lily could have sunk that low.

Lily gaped. "What? No. This is wrong."

James snatched it. "What were you saying?"

"She is your baby. You know she is."

"Not according to this."

Lily snatched it from him. "You can't believe this."

"I never thought you would ever touch that man."

Lily reminded him. "You know I would never sleep with Albus."

James was angry. "And yet he is the father."

Lily was red. "I never slept with him."

"Muggle IVF then? We know you didn't go magic."

"I needed a baby and you were not man enough to…."

James smacked her. "Don't you dare."

Lily assured him. "You will blood adopt her and nobody need know."

James was sick. "I will not claim that man's child."

Lily reminded him. "I am your wife."

"Not for long."

"Albus will have the Potter vote one way or another."

James stopped. "Telling me to watch for falling stones?"

Lily shrugged. "He just needs you out of the picture for me to be to have the vote."

James was furious. "Neither you or that man will Ever touch my estate."

Lily reminded him. "He is powerful and….."

"I signed the forms today to confirm Harry is my heir."

"I am his mother and Lady Potter, I would….."

"And gave Sirius my proxy if anything happens to me. Death or prison, anything."

Lily watched as her husband stormed out and she sunk down onto the couch. She knew Albus would be furious. He had been the one to offer to provide the sperm. He had no desire to be a father so didn't mind the adoption. Though he took pleasure his child would have a title and power. Severus had been her first choice, and she had tried to drug him one night, when she found him in a bar. He had not drunk with her. In the long run she was convinced this was better. Severus would have taken the baby if he had found out. And any other sperm providers may be loose lipped if anyone suspected. She could have used a muggle sperm bank, but they wanted to ensure the baby had magic.

James found himself at the marauder apartment and knocked. "I need to speak."

Sirius reluctantly let him in. "Harry is…."

Harry eyed the man. "You look upset."

James told them. "Albus is the father."

Remus was white. "She slept with….."

"No. They used spells." James said.

Harry was confused. "Why?"

"If I am out of the picture, they hoped to gain my seat."

Sirius was shocked. "An accident?"

"Or prison." Remus thought.

James nodded. "I need to leave school."

Remus agreed. "We know your temper."

He looked at Sirius. "Here."

Harry wondered. "What is that?"

Sirius read. "If James is dead, incapacitated or in prison, the estate passes to you."

James finished. "And Sirius will oversee it till you come of age."

Remus was shocked. "Why?"

"He will protect Harry. And I know he would make my father proud."

James looked at Harry and he knew he had done little good by his son. He knew even if Harry was adopted, he was William's grandson. William had loved Sirius and had considered him to be a member of his family. James trusted Sirius to watch over Harry and make sure he was okay. He knew Albus would not rest and would try to get James out of the picture. But he would do what he could to protect Harry.

Sirius shocked even himself when he told James. "You can stay at Grimmauld. The wards are changed, Albus can't enter."

James thanked him. "Thank you."

Harry eyed the man. "You are leaving."

"It is safer for you."

Harry held back. "And you."

James sighed. "One day I hope you will let me have a chance…."

"I have my dads."

"To talk." Was all James said.

Harry sighed. "Maybe."

Sirius motioned. "Likely time to go."

Remus handed him something. "This will take you."

James was confused. "How?"

Remus shrugged. "May have snuck it from Severus."

The portkey was one that Severus had that used to take him to and from campus during the war. There was very few that could get through the school wards. Remus had not actually stolen it from Severus. But the man was not about to admit he was helping James Potter with anything. Even if he had helped with the potion and with the paper as well. James sent one last look at his son and he left.

Harry showed some small concern. "I hope he is safe."

AN: So a new little Dumbledore on the way...yes definitely in vitro, trust me the thought of those two doing it naturally was too much for me as well.

And a bit more insight into Albus. Review and I will update soon.
