She saved lives even now.
Just in a different way
and there'd be time
in between, where she
only struggled
day by day
with no fruits to show.
She was clever,
they said,
but cleverness
wasn't all there was.
Those things she was leaving
behind she could get back
But she didn't think she had
the patience to wait
for that long.
