I do not own any of the original Avengers characters.

Epilogue

Damian watched the others in silence. He felt guilty for being happy. So many were dead. Fiends. Loved ones. Clint. Vision. Loki. The Gamora from the past that had come to this time had refused to be in a relationship with Peter Quill, and had lost the version of her sister from her own time, even though the version from Damian's time survived. It was...wrong for him to be happy. And yet he was. Happier than he had ever been. He was alive. Wanda was alive. The galaxy was safe from Thanos. And then, as his eyes drifted past the crowd, his guilt grew in proportion to his joy.

She looked beautiful in her dress. Her red hair was loose with some over each shoulder and most behind her, and her dress fit her perfectly. It wasn't overly extravagant, or too plain. It was perfect. It hung close to her body and ended just above her feet so that she didn't trip. And despite all that had been lost, Damian couldn't help but smile. His eyes flicked across the stage to where Nat was standing in her place as Maid of Honor, Nat gave him an encouraging smile. Maybe it was wrong for him to be so happy, but as Wanda joined him on stage, taking his hands, he couldn't find it in himself to feel guilty.

"Is it wrong for me to be happy?" Damian asked as his hand drifted lazily up and down Wanda's arm.

"I don't think so," Wanda said. "They may be gone, but they wouldn't want us to grieve forever. They'd want us to move on."

"Easy for us to say," Damian said. "We survived."

"Should we have waited longer to get married?" Wanda asked after a few seconds of silence.

"Maybe," Damian said. "But I don't regret it."

Wanda smiled, kissing him before laying her head on his chest again. "I think they'd be happy for us. And they'd be glad that we're able to move on with our lives, instead of being hung up on things we couldn't change."

Damian nodded. "I guess you're right. Sorry. This probably isn't what you want to talk about on your wedding night."

Wanda smiled. "We have all night to talk about other things. Besides, the wedding day is for the bride. The wedding night is for the groom. We can talk about whatever you want."

"Really?" Damian asked, grinning. "Well if that's true, I think I have a slightly more entertaining topic in mind."

"Oh?" Wanda asked, raising an eyebrow. "And what's that?"

Damian smiled and reached up kissing her. Wanda sighed, kissing him back as Damian's hands began to drift for the thousandth time since they had escaped the others.

Damian watched as Nat and Steve made their way down the aisle, everyone present cheering loudly. Maybe it wasn't okay for him to be as happy as he was, but he was, and that wasn't about to change any time soon.

THE END

Sorry for the short chapter.
