Day Eleven (Part Two)
Smoky Willis (D1 M 18)
Mars and I drop our first handful of supplies over the cliff. It smashes to the ground, its contents destroyed I am proud to have come up with this plan a few minutes ago. Basically, since we have so many supplies at our camp, we don't need these. Also, this may draw some tributes out to the table. They'll want to get their hands on these supplies.
As I look at the table to grab my second load, I notice something unusual. The table is mostly stocked with supplies, food, water, and backpacks; the stuff you'd find at the cornucopia during the bloodbath. But, I also see some slightly more interesting objects on the table. When Mars lifts up a backpack, I see a glint of silver under it. I dig through the pile, and pull out a silver spear with a button near the handle. I push the button, and a spearhead shoots out of the front, quickly replaced by another spearhead. Wow, this is neat. "Mars, come check this out," I say. "There seems to be some cool stuff buried in this pile."
"We can check that out later, Smoky," he says as he throws a jug of water over the cliff. "Just chuck the simple stuff over the cliff now."
"But other tributes are going to run out soon," I say. "Shouldn't we grab all the cool stuff before they can get to it."
Mars laughs. "No one's going to come. There's only lousy girls left. They can't take us in a fight. We outnumber them. It would be stupid for them to come."
I'm about to point out that we don't outnumber them when I see a flash of movement to my left. The girl from District Nine dashes out from behind a tree, and runs toward the table.
Carmen Sylvester (D9 F 17)
I run at the table, blood pounding in my ears. Those careers have some nerve. First, they stroll up to the table and begin casually destroying supplies by dumping them over the cliff. If they keep doing that, there won't be anything left by the time I get there. Then, they start bragging about how they're the most talented tributes left and boast about how no girl is going to step in their way. Well, they thought wrong. I'm not really sure if I'm running towards the table or the careers, but either way's fine by me.
Although the careers have an advantage in number, they also do have their backs to the cliff. One good push, and I'll reunite them with their smashed supplies. Right now, we face each other on either side of the table. I consider grabbing something and running, but that would be the cowardly way to handle this situation. It's time to fight.
I spot a second silver spear on the table; identical to the one Smoky picked up. Time for some target practice. Smoky and I begin firing spearheads at each other. One hits Smoky in the arm. One hits my left hand. The second boy, Mars, isn't doing anything. He's just standing by the edge of the cliff, twirling his machete handle around his finger and looking bored. I expect he'll only step in if Smoky needs some help.
Piper Hagen (D11 F 14)
I watch as Smoky and the girl from District Nine fire spearheads at each other. The Gamemakers are probably rethinking the choice to supply those special spears at the feast. There hasn't been any hand-to-hand combat yet. I'm sure it'll come soon enough, though. There can't be a feast without some hand-to-hand combat. I have to say, I'm rooting for the girl on this one. After all, I'll never ever root for the careers.
I look at Mars as he just stands there, twirling his machete. What does he think he's doing? My guess is he's waiting until Smoky injures her badly. Then, he'll step in for the final kill. That's just how Mars is; always wanting the kill. Smoky just barely dodges a spearhead that flies at his face. Carmen has to duck underneath the table to avoid one launched at her. When she stands back up to fire another one, nothing flies out of the end of her spear. She presses the button a few times, but to no success. She makes the terrible mistake of looking down at her weapon as Smoky fires one more spearhead at her. The spearhead hits her right in the stomach.
Carmen Sylvester (D9 F 17)
The spearhead flies into my stomach, and I fall down behind the table. I feel a great heap of pain. I know I need to get that spearhead out of my stomach fast if I want any chance of survival. I find it, give a grunt, and out it comes, covered in blood. It hurts even more than the initial hit. I'm about to drop the spearhead, when I see a symbol on it; a skull and crossbones. Under the picture, it has printed: Warning. Spearhead is poisonous. Side effects include hallucinations, immense pain, and certain death. Wonderful; the spearhead was poisonous.
I immediately accept the fact that I'm going to die. There isn't a doubt about it. The pain will worsen, I'll start hallucinating a bit, and then I'll die. After all the suffering, I'll die. But then I realize, I don't have to go through all of this pain and suffering. I can end this now. My mind hatches a plan.
Using my constantly decreasing supply of strength, I crawl around the side of the table. Smoky is sifting through the supplies, once again. He probably thinks that I'm nearly dead. Well, he's right. I look at Mars, who's looking down, examining his machete blade. I pick him out as the weaker target. I then gather all of my remaining strength. Ignoring the pain, I stand up, and begin to run towards Mars. My body screams in protest, and dark spots dance in my eyes, but I ignore it all. Mars looks up about a second before I reach him. By the time he realizes what I'm doing, it's too late. I jump on top of Mars, tackling him and pushing him over the edge of the cliff. We begin to plummet to the ground. During my last few seconds of life, I commend myself for killing this monster. I hope that this year, a non-career will win. That's my final wish.
Ciera Dawson (D7 F 17)
I watch as the girl throws herself on top of the boy, and they both plummet to the ground. Wow; she's brave. Well, here's my chance to dash for supplies; the other career's looking over the edge of the cliff. I suck up my courage and dash towards the table as two cannons go off simultaneously.
I reach the table and start looking through the supplies; trying to be as quiet as possible. I grab two backpacks and a few stray packages of food. Then I spot something that makes the whole trip here worth it; an expensive-looking slingshot. It has some buttons on it that I'll have to test out later. I also spot a box labeled: Slingshot ammo. Warning: Ammo is poisonous. Side effects include hallucinations, immense pain, and certain death. Wonderful. I grab that as well. It seems as though the Gamemakers have included a special weapon for everyone. I spot a machete that probably was for the boy who was pushed off the cliff. I also spot a blowgun, but I have no idea who that would be for.
Since my hands are full, I take my two bags, various food packages, slingshot, and slingshot ammo, and run off. As I make it back into the woods, I hear a voice shout, "Hey!" I whip around to see the boy from One glaring at me, his spear raised. I turn back around and dash into the woods.
Smoky Willis (D1 M 18)
I watch as the girl runs back into the forest. I consider going after her, but decide against it. There are two tributes who didn't show up, so they may be lurking nearby. If I leave, they'll start taking stuff from the table. Besides, it looked like she only took two bags and a slingshot. That stuff won't last long. When it's time, the Gamemakers will force us together, and I'll be able to kill her.
I turn my attention back to the table. Looking closely, I see some weapons lying on the table that I didn't notice before. There's a fancy-looking machete; probably meant for Mars. Well, since he's dead, I guess I'll take it. There's also an expensive blowgun. It's certainly not my type of weapon, but I'll take it, just in case. The remainder of the stuff is just supplies, food, and water. I'll dump all this stuff over the cliff since I already have enough at the cornucopia. I don't want any tributes getting their hands on these, and it would be too much work to carry them all down.
As I drop bag after bag off the cliff, I try not to look at the splattered remains of Mars and the girl from District Nine. (I think her name was Carmen, but I'm not positive.) Shouldn't there be a hovercraft to come and take it? As soon as this thought enters my mind, a hovercraft appears, just like magic. The claw has to drop down a few times before both bodies are completely removed. When it is done, it flies off, and I continue to drop the supplies.
Jillian Perry (D3 F 13)
I finish gathering up the last of my supplies. I have compiled two backpacks, complete with food, water, and supplies. I even threw in a knife, just in case. I won't use it to kill anyone, but it might come in handy. It took me a while to compile these supplies because there's barely anything left here. Now that I've taken some, I doubt there's enough left for two days.I slip the backpacks onto my back, and walk towards the mouth of the cornucopia. I peek my head out, and get ready to run, but what I see stops me. The boy from District One is walking towards the cornucopia!
I turn back and look for something to hide under. I find a tarp, lie down, and pull it over me. I try not to make a noise as I hear the boy step in. His buddy doesn't seem to be with him. I wonder if he was one of the deaths today. I hear the boy shuffle around for a bit, and then walk out of the cornucopia. I let out a sigh of relief. Thankfully, he didn't notice me.
I guess all I can do know is wait for night time to fall. Since I haven't heard any voices, I'm assuming that the other career is dead. When this career falls asleep, I'll make my run for the cliff. Then, I'll just have to hope that my supplies will last for a few more days.
Smoky Willis (D1 M 18)
The feast went very well today. Not only one, but two big threats were killed today. I'm even happy that Mars died. It would have been a challenge to kill him, and our alliance was coming to a close anyways. Now, there's only three girls left, none of which have the skills to win. These last few days will be fun.
I notice the pile of supplies that I dropped over the edge of the cliff. I'd better go check those out and see if I destroyed everything. If not, I'll just drop them in the lake. I've got plenty of stuff in the cornucopia, so I've got no need for any of this. Sure enough, I find a few pieces of rope and some other knick-knacks that weren't damaged by the fall. I grab them all in my arms, head over to the lake, and launch them. Finally, I can head back to my camp.
I wonder if I'll get credited with Carmen's kill. I did send a poisonous spearhead into her gut, so she would have died anyways if she hadn't decided to push Mars over the cliff. I expect the Gamemakers will charge me with it. They'll look for any chance to bring the twist into these Games, and right now, no one else has a kill. I'm kind of hoping that it'll be counted because I don't have any kills yet. I know I'll have a chance to get some soon, but the more kills I have, the more sponsors I'll get.
Ciera Dawson (D7 F 17)
I think I've finally walked far enough. I find a nice tree and hoist myself up into it. When I escaped from the feast, I ran for about half an hour. When I was positive the career wasn't following me, I began to walk. I might as well not waste energy if I don't need to.
Once I'm settled into my tree, I decide to go through my existing bags and supplies. I still have my original bag, which has my spile, slingshot, berries, and matches in it. I then pull out my new bags. Inside, I find about ten packages of food, three bottles of water, my new slingshot and ammo, a blanket, a jacket, some rope and a pair of night vision goggles. I guess it was worth the trip. Although I didn't need the food or water, it will be nice to have some filtered water and a variety of food, for a change. I pull out a package of crackers and begin to much on them. Wow, it's been forever since I've tasted salt. They taste absolutely delicious.
I take a peek at the sun. I think the time's somewhere in between four and six right now. I suppose I'll stay up for the Panem Anthem and then fall asleep. Otherwise, it will mess up my sleeping pattern, so I'll wake up before dawn but then be tired once the afternoon hits. I stifle a yawn and pull out another cracker. Now, all I can do is sit and wait.
Piper Hagen (D11 F 14)
That was an interesting turn of events today. I have great respect for the girl from Nine, who took out the boy from Two when she knew she was a gonner. I will forever be in her debt. It would have been hard to defeat two careers, but I may be able to defeat one with a little bit of brain power.
The only person I haven't seen today is the girl from District Three. I wonder where she is. She probably figured it was best to stay away from all of the action, which was probably a smart strategy for her. However, just as this thought goes through my head, I see a flash of movement from the cornucopia.
At first, I don't see anything, but after a few more minutes, I spot the girl's blonde hair peek over the edge of the cornucopia, looking at the boy from One, who's sitting by the river. Wow, she must have gone down there during the feast. Although it was very smart to avoid the violence of the feast, she is kind of in a pickle now. There's no way she could sprint to the edge of the cliff and then climb up it undetected. She's probably going to wait until nightfall, though I don't know why she keeps peeking her head out.
The Panem Anthem begins to play. In the sky, the faces of the boy from District Two and the girl from District Nine are displayed. Once the Panem ends, I'm shocked to remember that I'm in the final four. I can't believe I've made it this far. I didn't expect to make it this far. However, now that I have, maybe, with a little bit of luck, I can win this thing.

Well I hope you enjoyed this exciting chapter. I tried to kill off some unliked characters, so I hope you're happy with my choices. (Carmen only had one vote and Mars only had two.) Speaking of the poll, I've created a new one for the final four. So, vote now, please! I should have the Games wrapped up in three-ish chapters, so make sure you vote before I write them. Thanks! :-)
