Chapter Twenty-Five
Lux walked around her home, picking up clothes that were laid around, and cleaning anything else she saw was out of place. It's been two days since Jax left for a run with the club and she couldn't help but feel a little depressed without him around.
/She quickly came to the conclusion how much she wanted him around as much as she could. Lux looked towards the clock and saw that she only had a few hours before she had to head down to Cara Cara for her shift.
On top of Jax being gone for the last few days, he'd been distant before he left with the rest of SAMCRO. She tried to chalk it up to stress or something with Tommy, but something was telling her it wasn't that. But any time she wanted to talk to him
/and possibly work through it, but any time she tried, he brushed her off.
After a quick shower, Lux dressed quickly for work and drove down to Cara Cara. When she walked in she already saw Gemma and Jade behind the bar.
"Well I'm hoping you're going to be a little happier when you get up on stage tonight," Gemma spoke as Lux leaned against the bar. "What's eating you sweetheart?"
Lux shakes her head "Nothing that you can help with,"
"If it's about the run, Opie called a few hours ago and said they should be home either tonight or tomorrow morning,"
Lux looked towards her friend confused "Opie called?"
"Yeah. Didn't Jax let you know already"
Lux shook her head "I haven't really talked to him all week. He's been distant. Won't talk to me about anything, and I know something is bothering him."
Gemma shook her head "It's most likely just the club sweetheart, Clay is putting a little more pressure on him lately with the club."
Lux could tell by the look on Gemma's face, there was more to what she was really saying. She'd been with Jax long enough to know when the club was hiding something. Lux let out a heavy sigh and nodded her head before turning away from the two and towards
/her dressing room to get ready for tonight. She could feel the burn at the back of her throat and her eyes water as she walked. Lux couldn't understand now what she did wrong to be ignored and lied to. It's like the ATF all over again.
The night passed quickly for Lux, before she knew it, Lux was sitting in the dressing room and counting the cash from the stage. Outside the door she could hear the other closing down the club. Lux finished counting and packaged them into her travel bag
/tightly before going towards her vanity to wipe off her makeup and get ready to go home. She pressed the button on her phone, hoping to see a missed call or text from Jax, but was set with disappointment when she was welcomed to nothing.
Another two days went by and still nothing from Jax. She tried calling and texting and no answer from him. Her worry began to spike more and more, but was brushed off by Gemma any time she called to see if she knew anything. Gemma knew that her son was
/to come first, and that if he didn't want Lux knowing where he was, Gemma would keep that secret. At the end of the fourth day, Lux pulled up to Teller-Morrow and could see the bikes lined up outside of the club house and Jax being in line. He was
/back in town, for god knows how long, and he hadn't contacted her at all. Lux slammed the door to her truck and stomped towards the doors and yanked them open, welcomed to the loud music and sounds of the party she walked into. Her green eyes scanned
/over the party and only saw some crow-eaters and prospects. Her eyes locked on Rat and she walked towards him quickly.
"Where is Jax?" She spoke, her green glaring eyes stopping him dead in his tracks.
"I-I...I don't know."
"Bullshit, his bike is outside, you know exactly where he is." She stepped towards him again causing him to back up from her.
"Where. Is. He." Lux spoke, he hesitated for a moment before sighing and pointing towards the garage.
She looked at him confused before turning and heading towards the garage and could the sounds of what sounded like screams. Her heart raced as she tore open the office door and walked through and turning into the garage. Lux's heart stopped as she saw
/the scene that was before her. Chibs, Bobby ad Tig stood with their backs to her, as Jax and Tig faced towards her. But that wasn't what made her heart stop. Sitting in the chair was her former boss, Micheal Petwiha, tied to a chair and was slumped
/forward as blood dripped down his face and chest. The moment the door opened, all eyes snapped towards her.
"What the fuck is going on in here?" She spoke as the shock seemed to wear off. Lux could hear Jax curse under his breath before passing something to Tig and walking towards her quickly.
Before she could even react, his hand was wrapped around her arm and pulling her towards the office door and closing it tightly behind him. His blue eyes looked towards her, anger vibrating off his body so hard she could feel it.
"What the hell are you doing here?" He spoke towards her. She faltered slightly from the tone of his voice, not understanding where it was coming from.
"I haven't heard from you in days! I was worried and came looking for Gemma to see if she'd heard anything, only to find you back home." She spat towards him "What the fuck is going on Jax, why is he here?"
"Because I'm taking care of everything like I said I was going to." Jax stepped towards her and glared down towards her more "Now, go back home and let me take care of everything."
Jax turned to leave but Lux reached to grab his hand and turned him back towards her. "Why are you shutting me out? You told me you'd keep me in the loop and you're doing the complete opposite of that, Jackson."
"Because you don't need to be involved in this right now." Jax grabbed her around the arm again and pulled her towards the exit and opened the door for her before nearly pushing her through the door. Lux stumbled slightly and turned around quickly back
/towards him.
"What the fuck is your problem!" She screamed towards him, she looked up towards him and didn't recognized the man she was in love with for the past six months.
"Don't make me repeat myself, Lux. Go home."
He slammed the door in her face and she stood there in shock as the sound of the door locking broke through the silence. She stared at the door and could feel the tears welling up in her eyes. Lux stood there for a second, as if waiting for him to come
/out and apologize for how he was acting. But it never happened. After a few minutes, Lux turned on her heels and walked back towards her truck, tears streaming down her face. But she stepped into her car, Lux felt someone's eyes on her and looked
/over to see Gemma standing in the doorway of the club house. A look of sympathy on her aged face. Gemma looked towards the girl and gave her a curt nod, as if a way to tell her it was all gonna be ok, before turning and heading back into the club
/house. Lux stood there for a second before unlocking the truck door and getting inside. She reached up and wiped away her tears before turning the truck on and driving away out of the lot.
