Here's another chapter.

"So you're saying that someone is after to kill me?" Castle couldn't believe what he was hearing.

"Well basically yes." She answered allowing him to sit next to her so she could show him what she found so far.

He looked at the notes carefully and Kate wrapped an arm around his shoulders and kissed his cheek. "I promise I'm going to find out what this is all about and who is responsible for it and make them pay."

"I know you will." He said grabbing her hand and giving it a light squeeze, all of this is making my head hurt I'm going to go take a nap so I'm up and alert to play with Maddie when she gets home." And with that he left Kate alone.

She had to solve this she couldn't loose him, she wouldn't survive it.

Soon it was time to go to work after she was sure that Castle was in a better state plus Martha promised to keep her classes in the loft so that she could keep a close eye on him.

"Hey sweetie where's mommy?" Castle asked as the four year old sat on the couch next to him sipping on a juice box.

"Mommy is getting ready for work."

He nodded his head looking changing the channel to a more kid friendly one.

"Daddy, do you feel better now?" Maddie asked the worry clear in her eyes.

"I'm all better now, thanks for asking." He said hugging her.

Castle rubbed her back noticing that she had a tight grip on him and he bit his lip to ignore the pain in his ribs.

"I don't like it when you get hurt, I was afraid." She told him, her voice muffled by his chest.

He gently pulled her away looking her in the eyes. "What were you afraid of?" He asked.

She dropped her head choosing not to speak like if she had said something wrong.

"Maddie," He said urging her to tell him the answer the question to his question.

"I thought that you were going to go help the angels too." She spat out.

Castle sat back his face in shock, maybe she understood death more than they thought she did."

"Daddy, please don't leave me she said, her eyes filled with tears."

He gently wiped the tears from her eyes. "Don't worry," He said rubbing her back. "I'm not leaving you."

Suddenly Kate walked up to them. "Everything ok?" She asked when she saw the two sitting on the couch both of them had serious looks on their faces.

Castle gave Maddie a soft smile. "I think we're fine." He said as the girl returned his smile.

"Ok, Maddie are you ready to go?" Kate asked. She slowly got off of the couch grabbing her bags and following Kate to the door slipping on her sneakers, waving goodbye to Castle as they exited the loft.

After dropping Maddie off at the preschool Kate headed to work and when she arrived she let Gates know that she was reporting back for duty. Then she sat at her desk looking up at the board to see her future husband's face for the investigation of his attempted murder.

She read through the notes that Ryan and Esposito had made, so far no leads were found she took her eyes off of the board and looked down onto her desk and there it was a piece of white paper neatly folded and placed on top of her files addressed to Detective Beckett. At first she wasn't worried but when she read it, it made her scared.

Dear Detective Beckett

Your fate is catching up to you.

You took the most important person away from me and now it's your turn,

I may have failed my first attempt but this time I will succeed at taking one of the most important people in your life.

Sincerely, an old friend.

"Hey guys," Kate called out grabbing both of the boys' attention.

"Did any of you two see the person who put this on my desk?" She asked.

The two men shook their heads and answered her with a nope.

"Why?" Esposito asked.

"Well this is a threat." The two men immediately got out of their seats gathering at her desk.

They sent the letter to the lab to be tested then they called Gate to show her their new lead.

Then she called Castle who picked up at the second ring.

"Hello,"

"Hey Castle."

"What's up?" He asked.

Kate ran her fingers through her hair. "I got a note from the person who was responsible for your accident. They want to take away the most important people in my life. This is all my fault she wants revenge on me."

"Kate calm down we'll get through this toge..."

Then there was a beep.

"Hold on a sec Rick someone is trying to call me."

"Hello," She answered cautiously.

"Hello is Kate Beckett."

"Yes,"

"This is Madison's school, your daughter has gone missing."
