The Kappa

Disclaimer: Naruto isn't mine.

"Hey dad?" They were sitting at the kitchen table eating dinner when Sasuke decided to bring up something with Fugaku. His father hadn't expected to be talked to (usually he sat and read) so he looked understandably worried.

"Are you alright Sasuke?"

"I wanted to ask you something." If anything this made him more afraid.

"Oh Sasuke, we've already talked about how babies are made." Sasuke grabbed one of the bread rolls and lobbed it at Itachi's head.

"Don't waste food boys."

"You were saying Sasuke?"

"Are there any family legends about this house?" Since it was one of his ancestors who had killed Mangetsu, he wanted to find out who it was at least. Asking Suigetsu hadn't been a good idea so he figured Fugaku had been a reasonable alternative.

"Family legends?"

"That sounds pretty stupid."

"Suck a dick, Itachi. And yeah, like ghosts or something."

"Weirdo." He kicked his brother this time. "Tell Sasuke to stop kicking me mum."

"Don't kick your brother Sasuke. And Itachi. If you have nothing nice to say to him, don't bother." Mikoto sounded almost bored at this. Mainly she was used to dealing with two bad-tempered boys. Ahh, if only I'd had girls…

"…Mum's doing that face again."

"Yeah… Let's leave her alone boys."

Once Itachi had moved upstairs and Sasuke and Fugaku were in the living room, Sasuke tried to bring it up again.

"Can you think of any then, dad?"

"Hm? Oh, ghosts." Fugaku went silent for a while and Sasuke waited. He knew that you couldn't rush his father. It was best to wait for him to get there in his own time.

"There was one thing…"

"Yeah?"

"With your great-great grandfather Madara." This man he had heard of.

"…Did he end up in asylum?"

"How did you know that?" Fugaku seemed surprised.

"I think you've mentioned him before."

"Ahh… Probably. He said he saw ghosts here apparently. Slept with a sword in his bed."

"Wow…" Knowing Suigetsu, there would've been a lot of build-up to cause this reaction.

"Apparently he killed a kappa so it cursed the place. That's how it goes, anyway. And there were other ghost sightings after that. My father said he saw things."

"Have you?"

"I don't think so. Your mother said she saw a few weird floating lights and shadows outside but you know what she's like."

"I know." Mikoto was the kind of over-imaginative person who, when told a place was haunted, would see ghosts everywhere.

"Why the interest?"

"Just wondering… We were talking about ghosts and crap at school, and since our house is old…"

"Fair enough." And Fugaku went back to his book. He and Sasuke were quite similar, in the same way that Itachi and Mikoto were similar.

Sasuke had been awkward around Suigetsu since he'd found this information out, something that made him feel like an asshole. He didn't deal with emotional crap very well and feeling some kind of guilt made him angry. He had nothing to do with it but he hated the fact that someone in his family had caused Suigetsu pain. Not only that, but he also seemed to be avoiding his boyfriend since the kappa had told him all about his brother.

Standing by the window in his bedroom, he looked down at the pitiful excuse for a pond that Suigetsu lived in. Compared to what he used to have, this was probably nothing.

I am not getting depressed about this. It would be foolish. Instead he decided to try and distract himself with anything he could. This ended up with him surrounded by stacks of books, attempting to find one that could stop him from thinking about everything. At this point, the cause of his worry decided to hop in through the window.

"You were staring at me for a long time there."

"If you noticed, why are you just coming in now?" He continued to look down at the book in his hands.

"Because I am shy!" Now he had to look up, his left eyebrow raised slightly. Suigetsu was grinning at him as per usual.

"Please don't bullshit with me." He knew that Suigetsu was kind of shy since he had taken so long to talk to Sasuke but this shouldn't have been a problem now. He'd thought so anyway.

"You were looking at me with such intent… It gave me chills."

"I was thinking about how small that pond is."

"I guess? Why, are you concerned for me?" Suigetsu had that irritatingly eager look on his face that he used to annoy his boyfriend with.

"I was just thinking about how you need somewhere bigger."

"I wouldn't complain if you guys installed a large heated outdoor bath." Sasuke rolled his eyes.

"Unless you can get the money, that's not happening."

"Thought not." Suigetsu sat on the bed and grabbed Sasuke's foot.

"What are you doing?" Suigetsu chuckled and pulled his leg, making Sasuke fall backwards on to the bed.

"You look very cute like that Sasuke." And then he started massaging his calf.

"Why though?" He couldn't deny that it was pleasant but it was embarrassing to be lying like that.

"You look tense."

"You didn't have to pull me over."

"No, but I liked doing it." Sasuke just glared at him. "Now you know how Naruto felt."

"What?"

"Usually you're on top but you aren't right now." He was basically purring at this point.

"You need to shut up." But he couldn't stop himself from going red. He was always in charge; that was the way things were. And the idea on not being in control was something he didn't like at all. So much so that he sat up and pushed the kappa away.

"You don't need to be embarrassed Sasuke."

"I am not."

"Your face says otherwise." He reached out a finger and poked Sasuke's cheek.

"Think what you want." He was well aware that he was acting like a child but Sasuke didn't care.

"There is nothing wrong with being on the bottom."

"I know!"

"Why are you being so weird?"

"I'm not."

"You are. You don't- oh." Suigetsu paused for a second. "Is this about my brother?"

"No."

"You have been offy with me recently."

"You're just imagining things."

"You know it's not your fault idiot. And you know I love you."

"Hn." Obviously he wasn't going to admit this. Sasuke hadn't felt so uncomfortable since the day they had first met each other.

Suigetsu wasn't as confident as he seemed, but he also really liked Sasuke and so he decided the hell with it and grabbed the raven haired boy by the waist, pulling their bodies together.

"What are you doing now?"

"Showing you my affection of course." He buried his face into the soft black hair and closed his eyes. It was nice to feel Sasuke up close, and the boy was actually allowing him to do it too.

Sasuke at first froze and considered telling his asshat boyfriend to fuck off. But then he realised that it was quite nice to lie like this. In some ways it was better to be the one being held since it required no effort on his part. And then Suigetsu started running his fingers through his hair. It was unexpected and so he let out a small noise.

"Holy shit Sasuke, that was adorable." Well this was incredibly embarrassing.

"Do not call me adorable. Ever." He pushed him away and sat at the end of the bed. His face was probably glowing by this point.

"I find you adorable. You never call me cute either." He attempted the pout.

"Because you're not. You're not unattractive but you're not cute." The kappa's face wasn't quite right to be considered cute.

"Really? That sucks." He sighed. "Ah well… I can live with that as long as you love me."

"Mostly." Although he didn't enjoy feeling like a small child all of the time.

"You should trust me more."

"What?" This was a weird thing to say. He never allowed anyone else this close. He let Suigetsu shower with him even, something he normally found really annoying.

"You're scared of me touching you. It's kind of sad."

"I'm not scared of that!"

"Is it because I'm not human?" As per usual, he ignored what Sasuke had just said. "I know it's weird to think about."

"I don't care what species you are. Maybe I'm not keen on physical contact." He'd never been keen on it. It had taken Naruto years to be allowed to touch him.

"You instigate then." The expectant look on his face wasn't helpful.

"What do you want?"

"I'd settle for light fondling." Well of course he would.

Sasuke, in the usual awkward Uchiha fashion, gripped Suigetsu's shirt and pulled him close. Kissing him, he ran his hands over the Kapas's shoulders, moving down his body. Suigetsu apparently approved as he moved closer. He even avoided touching Sasuke, letting the smaller boy do all the work.

"I can see why Naruto enjoyed it," was his response when they pulled apart.

"I'm not done." And he lay back down, pulling the kappa with him, Suigetsu's head against his chest and started stroking his hair.

"Why didn't you do this before?"

"You never asked me?"

"Git." He flicked him in the face. "Don't be weird with me. It's really annoying. You're supposed to like me."

"I won't… My dad kind of knew about you by the way."

"Oh?"

"His name was Madara… but I'm guessing you already knew that."

"I did."

"Did you enjoy making him go batshit crazy?"

"Oh that was satisfying."

"He sounded like a dick."

"He was. It runs in the family."

"Don't push your luck."

"Of course, darling."
