AN: Hey hey hey!

So here is all of the Nightmare Begins!

BTW, I can NOW do all of the episodes, because of Gwen and Arthur actually being canon now!

Disclaimer: I don't own Merlin, the BBC does. I only own Elizabeth Malinor, and her thoughts.

Enjoy!

I smiled at Gwen as she set down a tray of tea for Morgana and me. It'd been really hard, not knowing what was happening in the episodes, but I was getting better with it.

Gwen poured the tea, and I thanked her as I took my cup. Morgana took a sip from hers, before making a face. "Gwen, it's a bit on the cold side."

I looked down to mine, and guessed that since hers was cold, mine was gonna be too. I started thinking about how she could heat it up, when suddenly, my eyes flashed gold. Since my eyelids were half closed, no one could tell that they changed colour for half a second. I felt the once cold cup in my hands turn warm. Cautiously, I took a sip of it, and it was piping hot.

I instantly put my cup down. How did it get warm?

"Is there something wrong, My Lady?" Gwen asked.

I quickly shook my head before smiling sweetly at her. "Nothing, Gwen. I would appreciate it if you could heat the tea up."

She nodded. "My apologies, my Ladies. I'll make a fresh pot."

As soon as Gwen was gone, Morgana leaned towards me. "All right Lizzie, what really happened?"

"What do you mean?" I asked nervously. Could it really be magic?

"You put the cup down as if you tasted something revolting. And I always know when you're lying."

I looked left and right before leaning in closer to Morgana. I knew that I couldn't keep anything from her. A) because she knew me too well, and B) because she wouldn't drop it until I told her.

"When I looked down at the cold tea, I thought about it being warm. And before I knew it, it was hot," I said nervously.

"What? But how's that possible?" Morgana asked.

"There's only one way I can think of," I said. Then I said quieter, "Magic."

Morgana drew a breath. "You think it's magic?"

"What else can it be, Morgana? It's not just that. A lot of stuff like that has happened before," I pointed out.

"Well, you must tell Gaius," Morgana said instantly.

I scoffed, then leaned back into my chair. "What good would that do? Him speaking to me like I'm a child? More medication to shove down my throat?"

Morgana was about to say something when Gwen walked back in. "Warm tea, I made sure this time."

We both smiled at her in thanks, but I could tell that Morgana wouldn't just let it go so easily.

The next morning, I had heard from Gwen that Morgana's room and set on fire and that her window broke. I ran around everywhere, trying to find her. I finally did, and she was in Gaius's chambers. I got to Gaius's chambers at the same time Merlin does. We both moved to go in, but stopped when we heard voices.

"What I don't understand, Morgana, is how the fire started in the first place," Gaius's said.

"It happened so quickly. It was terrifying," Morgana said back.

"It's alright. You're safe now."

"You're the only person I've told about my dreams. I know I can trust you, Gaius," Morgana told him.

"Yes, of course you can."

"It was me. I set the room alight. I started the fire," Morgana said. As soon as she did, Merlin's eyes widened, and he looked over to me. He raised his eyebrows as if saying, 'Did you know about this'?

I shook my head. I had no idea that Morgana had started the fire. I mean, it must have been mentioned in the episode, but I had no idea. I leaned my head more on the door.

"I don't understand. Did you knock a candle over?" Gaius asked.

"No that's not what happened. I did it just by looking at it, the flames suddenly leaped higher."

"I could've been a gust of wind," Gaius tried to dismiss.

"It wasn't. It was me. It was magic," Morgana continued to insist.

"My child..." Gaius started.

"I'm not a child!" Morgana suddenly exclaimed.

"Last night was an accident. It had nothing to do with you. How could it have?" Gaius asked, and there was a pause before Gaius started talking again. "I am going to draw you up a fresh remedy that will make you feel better, I promise."

"No..." Morgana started weakly.

"You must trust me," Gaius told her.

A bit of scuffling, and we heard footsteps coming towards the door. I grabbed Merlin by the front of his shirt and pushed him behind a pillar. Then, I ran to the other end of the hall, and made it look like I was walking down the hall. Morgana walked out of the room, and I ran over to her.

"Oh Morgana," I said, and enveloped her into a hug. "I heard what happened, are you alright?" I asked, pulling back

She shrugged. "Honestly Lizzie, I have no idea."

"Well, come back to my chambers, and we can talk about it," I said, hooking my arm through hers.

"Actually Lizzie, I was thinking of going to sleep for a bit, I didn't have the best night," She said to me.

I nodded. "Of course, anything to make you feel better."

She smiled at me and moved to go to her room. I ran my hands along my arms and couldn't help but feel like something bad was gonna happen.

I went back to my own chambers and sat down in one of my big chairs, right in front of my fireplace. Morgana was sleeping, Gwen was tending to Morgana, and Merlin was probably tending to Arthur during his training. It was weird, being alone. Ever since my accident, I was never left alone. I shall take this to mean that people are actually starting to believe me when I said that I was feeling better.

I shivered, feeling a little cold. As I stared into the fireplace, I decided to read a book for a bit. Still looking into the fireplace, I stood up to get it. When I turned around, I felt a sudden heat at my back, and smelled the scent of burning wood. Slowly, I turned around and screamed when I saw that the fireplace has been set ablaze.

I did that! I did it! There was no one else in this room, and I was fairly certain that I didn't light that fire with stones.

A guard came running in. "My Lady, are you alright?"

I instantly felt stupid for bothering this guard with my silly scream. "Yes, sorry. I thought I saw a spider. I'm fine, thank you."

He looked a little uncertain, but eventually left. Not thinking, I grabbed the jug of water on my table, and threw it over the flames, effectively killing them. After I had done so, I ran to find Merlin.

When I found him in his chambers, I immediately grabbed him into a hug. "Merlin, oh my God."

"What? What's wrong?" He asked, pulling me away from him.

I stepped back. Why had I come to Merlin again? "I know you have magic, Merlin."

He nodded. "Yes, I know."

"And you're my friend, yeah? I can tell you anything and you wouldn't tell me that it was silly?" I asked. "You'd believe me?"

He nodded again. "Of course, without a thought."

I took a deep breath. I looked back to the door, checking to make sure that I had shut it nice and tight. I looked back to him and whispered, "I think I have magic." Screw thinking, I'd suspected it the moment that I came here with my dreams.

His face dropped. "What? What would make you say that?"

"Yesterday, I heated up a cup of tea," I said, and he looked at me, as if he was saying, 'That's nothing special', when I continued, "Just by looking at it."

"What?" He said.

"And just now, I started a fire in my fireplace, just by looking at it. It's magic, Merlin, I know it is," I said and started pacing in front of him. "What am I to do? I can't tell Gaius. He won't help me. But if Uther finds out, he'd have me executed!" I don't care how much I supposedly mean to Uther, I would not put it passed him to kill me if he found out that I had magic.

Merlin stopped me by grabbing me by the shoulders. "Lizzie, listen," I stopped and listened to him. "What do you want me to do? Is there anything that I can do?"

I sighed, tears welling up. "I just want someone to say it. Someone to say it before I go mad."

He hesitated for a long time but finally nodded. "Fine, I'll admit it. You're starting to show what I did when I was a child."

"So what am I to do?" I asked.

Merlin looked like he was gonna say something, but he just collapsed onto the bench. "I don't know, Lizzie. I really don't. Gaius helps me, but I don't think he'd be too keen on helping you."

"He keeps denying it whenever I bring the thought up," I said, starting to pace again. "The sleeping drafts that he gives me don't work. I still get the nightmares." I stopped pacing. "You don't think that my nightmares has anything to do with my magic, do you?"

"I don't know, Lizzie. I honestly don't. I'm sorry," He said.

I rolled my eyes. "You lot all are, aren't you?" I said.

The door opened, and Gaius walked in. "Ah, Liz. Was there anything you needed?"

I looked from Merlin back to Gaius. "Nothing, I was just leaving. It's nice to see you, Gaius," I said, before leaving. I started walking in the hall, before I groaned and kicked the wall closest to me.

This whole magic thing would not be as easy as I thought.

That night, as I was attempting to sleep, Morgana ran into my room, tears falling down her face. I immediately got out of bed before walking over to her, meeting her halfway. "What's wrong, Morgana?" I asked as I grabbed her wrists, trying to calm her down.

"I was laying down in my bed, about to fall asleep, when I woke up, and I looked at the vase in my room. The vase exploded, Lizzie," She said, continuing to cry.

"Oh Morgana, are you alright?" I asked her.

She shook her head. "It's magic, Lizzie. I know it is."

"Have you spoke to Gaius about it?" I asked.

She shook her head. "He wasn't there when I went over. but Merlin was. I talked to him about it, but that just made me more confused. I have no idea if Merlin believes me or not. He said one thing, then he said another."

"Merlin is confusing," I said, leading her over to my bed. "Lay down, Morgana, you need to rest."

She shook her head, trying to push away from it. "No Lizzie, this is your bed, I can't sleep here."

"Morgana honestly, it's nothing. Please, I want you to lie down."

Wiping at her tears, she finally nodded and got into my bed. I tucked her in, like I would a small child. I rubbed her hair back and whispered, "Go to sleep."

I stood there until she did, and wandered in my room. I was about to go to my big chair, but remember that it was by the fireplace, and I didn't want to do anything in my sleep. If Morgana could do it, then there was no reason why I couldn't.

I ended up grabbing one of the extra blankets laying around in my room and grabbed a pillow on the bed that Morgana wasn't using. I put the pillow on the ground, and lie down, wrapping the blanket around me. As I fell asleep, I prayed that I had put enough distance between me and the stupid fireplace...

The next day proceeded as a normal one, though Morgana was still tense as ever. She was gone when I woke up, and Gwen was rather confused as to why I was sleeping on the floor. But once I explained to her the situation, I instructed her to look after Morgana all day, and not to worry about me.

The day after was when chaos struck. When I woke up the next morning, Gwen informed me that Morgana was missing. I quickly dressed, and skipped breakfast, much to Gwen's disapproval. But I didn't care. My friend was missing, but I suspected that she ran away. And there was one person that I knew I could get answers from.

I ran into that person with a pack on his shoulders. "Where are you going?" I asked.

"I just have to go somewhere," Merlin said, and tried to walk around me. I grabbed his arm before he could leave. "Now wait just a minute. If this is about Morgana, then I want to come." He looked like he was going to protest when I put a hand up. "Don't try and argue with me Merlin! She is my best and closest friend and I want to find her."

He looked reluctant. "The King will notice that you're gone too."

"I can take care of myself against Uther," I said. Really, the worst that could happen was me ending up in the dungeons. But once I explained I was just trying to find Morgana, Uther would back right off. He knew how close we were.

I quickly changed into proper travelling clothes (i.e, NOT a dress), and Merlin and I quickly slipped out of the castle. It felt like we were walking forever before Merlin said that we should stop and take a break.

Merlin and I gathered some firewood, and I waited for him to grab two stones (yeah, no matches, which I never realized before that I missed), but instead, he said, "Forbearnan," and the fire was lit. I looked from the fire to Merlin in amazement. He noticed me staring at him, and looked over to me, blushing slightly. "What?"

I shook my head. "I just forgot how amazing it was to watch you do the simplest magic," I said, and Merlin gave me a funny look. "I mean, usually you're using magic to save Arthur, or Camelot, but watching you use it for something so trivial as lighting a fire, is truly something."

Merlin's giving me a smile before his facial expression changed. I furrowed my eyebrows at the face he was making, before I started to hear something weird. I looked around, and saw no signs of movement. But the sound was still there. It sounded like a voice, and it looked like Merlin could hear it too. If he could hear it, then where was it?

"Can you..." I pointed to my head, and he nodded. So he could hear it too. Was it some form of telepathy?

Merlin quickly doused the fire, and we were on our feet again. Merlin clearly knew where he was going, so I just followed him. Soon enough, the druid camp came into view. Merlin and I exchanged glances before we started running for the camp.

We quickly found Morgana's tent, but she wasn't alone in there. Silently, we decided that we'd stand out and wait until she was alone.

"What would you like to know?" A male voice said.

"Why I can see the future in my dreams. Why I'm able to start fires with my mind. My best friend, she's exactly the same as I am. What does it mean?" Morgana asked. When she mentioned "her best friend", Merlin and I turned to look at each other, since she was clearly talking about me.

"People who are able to do this are few and far between. You, as well as your friend, have a gift," the male voice said.

Hesitation from Morgana's side. "Is it magic?"

"Of a kind, yes. But it will be many years before you're able to understand it fully, let alone use it," He said, and I could feel Merlin's eyes on me. "This isn't something to be afraid of."

"It is if you have Uther as your guardian. If he found out, he'd have me and my friend killed," Morgana said.

"He won't," the man said firmly.

"But if he did..." She trailed off.

"We won't let that happen. You're safe here. And your friend? If it makes you feel better, we'll find her, and we can bring her here," Hell no, I wasn't going nowhere! "You shouldn't be scared of Uther. You should pity him."

"Pity? Why?" Morgana asked, the confusion clear in her voice.

"Because he's a broken man, consumed by fear. His hatred of magic has driven goodness from his heart," The man said, and I was with him on that one.

"I've always been taught that magic is evil, that it corrupts your soul," Morgana said, and I'd been taught the exact same thing.

"Uther told you this. Just because he decrees it, doesn't make it so. In time you will learn that magic isn't a dark art that must be shrouded in secrecy. It can be a force for good," He said, and I looked over to Merlin, who wasn't looking at me.

We peeked inside and saw that the man has left the tent, so Merlin and I poked our heads inside. "Morgana!" We whispered.

She whipped her head around. "Merlin! Lizzie! What are you doing here?"

"We've come to take you back to Camelot," Merlin explained.

Morgana frowned. "Then I'm afraid you two have had a wasted journey. I'm never going back."

"You have to," I said, shaking my head.

"Why?" Morgana asked. She looked over at Merlin. "Merlin is the one who said I should seek out the druids."

"Did he now?" I asked, turning my head and giving him a glare, which he pretended not to see.

"Either way, I never realized what the repercussions would be," Merlin continued.

Morgana furrowed her eyebrows. "What repercussions?"

"Uther thinks you've been kidnapped," I told her, and her eyes widened in surprise.

"He won't stop until you're found. He's arrested dozens of people. He's gonna execute them all," Merlin kept going.

"If I return, the same fate awaits me," She said.

"Uther doesn't need to know about this. I won't tell a soul," Merlin promised.

"And you know you can trust me, Morgana, Uther won't know about this as long as I can help it," I assured her.

"I'm sorry. I'm never going back. These are my people. They're like me. I don't feel so alone here," Morgana said, getting a distant look in her eyes. Then she looked over to me. "Lizzie, this place is good! They have people just like us! We can stay here, have a life!"

I shook my head at her words. "Morgana, that is utterly bonkers!" I protested. "This is not the place for us. Camelot is."

"But I am so tired of it being just the two of us! Here, we're not alone," She said and looked over to Merlin. "Do you understand?"

He just nodded. "Better than anyone."

He really did. I was the only one that understands the true meaning of his words.

The tent suddenly opened, and the man from before walked in, "Morgana, we must go," He took notice of Merlin and I. "Who are you two?"

Morgana shook her head. "I-it's alright, they're my friends. The girl was the person I was telling you about before. What's wrong?"

"Arthur and his men are coming. Your friends has led him straight to us," He said, giving Merlin and I a glare.

I was about ready to jump him when Merlin grabbed my arm, helping me off of the ground so that we could run.

As soon as I stepped out of the tent, I came face to face with a little boy, who was familiar, yet unfamiliar.

'Hello, Elizabeth,' I heard, and judging by the look on the little boy's face, he was the one that said it. But the freaky thing was that he didn't move his lips. He must have done it telepathically.

"Morgana told me about your accident, that you might not remember me," The boy said. "I am Mordred, remember now?"

I shook my head, although the name was familiar. "No."

"Well, now I get to save you, like you did me," Mordred said, and he reached out and took my hand.

The second he did, I felt this jot pass through me, and I wretched my hand away from Mordred. All I felt was...bad. A cold, darkness, of a sort.

Mordred just looked a little confused before he grabbed my hand again. This time, I let him, and once Morgana, Merlin and the man (whose name I had learned to be Aglain) came, we bolted.

We started running, and when I looked back, I saw Arthur looking at us. I quickly turned my head so that he wouldn't see my face, and I heard him shout "This way!" As we kept running.

Morgana was still limping, and we were having a hard time running with Morgana. "We've got to keep moving!" Aglain said.

"My leg, it's too painful!" Morgana moaned.

"I'll try to create a diversion," Merlin quickly said.

"No, Merlin, you can't!" Morgana instantly protested.

"Morgana's right Merlin, don't be stupid," I insisted.

He shook his head. "You two carry on! It's my fault they're here! Go! Go!"

Morgana hesitated before saying, "I'll never forget this."

Morgana, Mordred, and Aglain started running, but I looked back at Merlin. "But Merlin..."

He grabbed my shoulders. "You can't be caught. Go with them. I promise I'll see you soon."

Tears filled my eyes, but I reached up and put my arms around his neck, hugging him tightly. I quickly let go, and Merlin and I ran our separate ways.

We came to this tunnel thing, but Morgana fell to the ground. "I can't go on," She rasped in pain. I bent down next to her and put my arms around her.

"We're not leaving you behind," Aglain said.

"Please," Morgana whimpered, and she leaned her head on my shoulder. I looked down at her, and it looks like she had passed out from the pain.

I looked at the two boys. "Run. I promise, I'll look after her. And I won't breathe a word about you two helping her. Go, it's what she wants."

Aglain nodded, but Mordred's eyes traveled up, and he pointed. "They're coming!"

Before there was time to even do anything, I heard a shot, and Aglain suddenly had an arrow in his chest.

I looked up and saw the knights of Camelot. I turned back to Mordred. "Run, Mordred! Just go!" I told him.

Mordred didn't need to be told twice. He took right off. Maybe a minute later, one of the guards came running. He saw Morgana first, because he yelled, "Prince Arthur! We have the Lady Morgana!" He came closer and finally saw me. "And the Lady Elizabeth!" He added, though he sounded super confused.

He looked from me, to the unconsciousness Morgana, back to me. "Look, I can explain..."

I sat on a horse with one of the Knights as

we rode into Camelot. I was in the back, so when the Knight helped me off of my horse, Morgana was already in Uther's tight embrace. He looked over her shoulder and saw me standing among the knights. "Elizabeth? What are you doing?"

Quick, lie! "I... wanted to help the knights find Morgana. But, Arthur wouldn't let me, so I snuck off. Mind you, I found her before they did. I had just found her and was helping her escape when your men showed up." Ooh I was getting good at this!

Uther walked over and brought me into a hug too. "You weren't hurt, were you?"

I shook my head against his shoulder. "No, Sire. I'm fine."

He pulled back. "Good. Come inside, we should get you two cleaned up and get you some food."

I nodded and walked in front of Uther, beside Morgana. Just as we started walking into the castle, Morgana and I instinctively looped our arms together, holding tightly.

TBC...

Now we can get into the fun episodes! Yeah, Elizabeth didn't go to the druids, because she wasn't having as hard of a time as Morgana was, and she didn't want to leave Camelot for them.

Anyways, Lizzie's outfits on Polyvore!

THE ADVENTURES OF ELIZABETH MALINOR CONTINUE...

Morgana punches her kidnappers in the face as Gwen tosses her a sword.

"Morgana's party hasn't returned," Arthur informs Uther. "There's no sign of her anywhere."

"We must do something!" Elizabeth frantically says. She knew she should have gone with her!

Arthur whips around from the tree, ready to pull the trigger on his crossbow, but was startled to see Morgana.

But she was by herself.

"Where's Guinevere?" Arthur asks as Elizabeth ran to Morgana's side, draping her cape over Morgana.

"How can I admit, that I think about her all the time?" Arthur rants, and Elizabeth and Merlin exchange glances.

Guinevere stood on her tip toes to look through the vent, and smiles when she sees a familiar face.

"Lancelot," She breathes.

Lancelot and a man battle in a cage.

Lancelot and Guinevere ran down the corridor, hand in hand.

"I would give myself for you, one hundred times over," Lancelot told Guinevere, grabbing her gently by the face.

Arthur led Elizabeth and Merlin in a cave by torch light.

Merlin muttered out an incantation, and the chandelier falls on a bandit.

"Release the wilddeoren!" Hengist orders, and a huge animal resembling a warthog and a pig come out of a cage.

That's it! Until next time on I've Got the Magic in Me!
