Too many things unsaid

Chapter 25

A few weeks later!

Penelope and Derek had walked out of the doctors appointment with massive smiles on their faces that day, they had overcome the shock a few days later.

'Hey baby girl' Derek said as he got home. He walked in to the kitchen where Penelope was cooking dinner.

He smiled widely when he saw Penelope turn around and smiled back at him 'hey hot stuff how was the meeting?' Penelope asked.

He walked over to her and kissed her and put his hand on her tummy 'yea it went fine, boring but fine'

During dinner Penelope said 'oh yea we need to know when your mum can come over so can we call her tonight to find out?' Penelope smiled. Derek smiled back and said 'yea we need to find out we'll call her tonight. After dinner?' Penelope nodded and took a sip of her coke.

Derek put the dishes away and got Penelope her drink as he went in the living room to where Penelope was sitting 'how you feeling baby girl?' he handed her the drink and she took a sip before she answered 'I am feeling tired but good' she grinned widely and got herself comfortable.

Derek went to get the phone and dialed his mothers number. After a few rings she answered. 'hello?'

'Hello Fran, hello mother' Derek and Penelope replied.

'aaahh hey Penelope, how are you. Derek don't say "hello mother" you make me feel old' Fran replied.

Penelope laughed a little and Derek smiled 'sorry' he said in a sarcastic tone.

'I am fine thank you, how are you' Penelope replied and smiled at Derek

'That's good, I am fine thank you for asking' Fran answered.

'Mum we were wondering when you could come over' Derek joined the conversation.

'I have a week of in three weeks so I can come then. I cant wait to see you both' Fran smiled when she answered.

Penelope whispered something in Dereks ear and Derek replied to his mum 'wait a second mum.' He turned to Penelope 'what did you say baby?' Penelope kissed him and smiled 'I would be showing by then' Penelope told him quietly. Derek grinned and nodded. He put his hand on her tummy and 'right so sooner?' Penelope smiled and shrugged ' 2 weeks?' Derek nodded. 'Mum how about 2 weeks just work a week later and come in two weeks?'

'Derek you know if I could I would but I have already asked and they need me to they said I could in three weeks though so I can book the tickets in three weeks' Fran replied.

Derek and Penelope looked at eachother, 'yea ok we will see you in three weeks' Derek said 'I can book you the tickets now if you want, it will take me like 5 minutes' she looked at Derek and he said 'yea 'cause then you can tell your boss that you cannot come in for that week and tell them not to call you'

Fran laughed and said 'thats ok Penelope I can do it' even though she knew they could and would change her mind eventually. Penelope is an expert at computers and it would propably take her hours to do. So she said 'Ok Penelope but you dont have to do it but thank you' she loved Penelope and couldn't wait to see her and Derek.

'good choice, ok I will do it now.' Penelope smiled. She kissed Derek and got up to get her laptop. She came back a minute later and she had gotten changed into tracksuits and one of Dereks FBI tops that was a little too big for her. She sat down next to Derek and turned her laptop on.

Derek, Penelope and Fran finished talking an hour later and Penelope had booked Fran's ticket. They had Penelope's ultrasound tomorrow so they were excited and headed to bed early.
