LOVE HURTS
CHAPTER 26
Kate was awoken to quite the ruckus. She could feel the humans picking up the cage and set it down on the ground. She then heard a loud squeak and the bars that kept her contained slid up. Humphrey, Rawlings and Hope were already awake and shot out of the cage. Kate was quick on the follow up
Kate finally ran out of breath and had to stop. Giving Humphrey and the pup's time to catch up.
"Well that got us nowhere." Kate said, gasping for air.
Humphrey nodded, trying to catch his breath.
Humphrey looked up at the sky and noticed that it was getting dark. "It's getting dark, maybe we should be looking for a place to sleep." Humphrey suggested.
Kate nodded agreeingly. "Good idea." She replied.
They would walk for an hour or two before finding a suitable place to sleep.
Humphrey's eyes flashed open, as he woke up to find Kate cuddled up right next to him. It made him shake with joy. He decided to wait a few minutes and let Kate sleep a little longer. So he went outside, where the bright morning suns shone down on him.
After about thirty minutes, Kate woke up, and found Humphrey outside, waiting for her. "Good morning." He said, smiling warmly.
Kate emerged from the cave, the bright rays of light from the sun gleaming in her fur. She smiled back, and with a voice like an angel said "good morning."
"Come on, let's get going." Humphrey begged. "I really want to go home."
Kate nodded. "Me too, let's go." She whispered softly as she cantered behind Humphrey. Hope and Rawlings trailing behind them.
