Chapter 25: Rayden Vs Onigumo(Part 2)

Looking at Rayden whose wounds had almost completely healed, several thoughts flashed quickly in Onigumo's head. He needed to use his vast experience to end this battle as soon as possible. "Haha, I didn't expect to meet such a strong but obscure young pirate in this weak area of the North Sea. With your potential, you would definitely become a disaster to the Navy in the future. But now it's time to get rid of you!" Onigumo said as he became more self-assured. Even though this young man in front of him was very strong, inexperience was his bane. He was now quite confident in finishing him off after a few more rounds.

After fighting with Onigumo for a period of time, Rayden discovered that this guy in front of him was not a complete swordsman, because the other side's swordsmanship was just too normal.

As for those six hands behind him, Rayden could still not figure out whether it was a devil fruit ability because it extended from his hair. From the Devil fruit illustrations that his father showed him, he still couldn't identify Onigumo's ability. Also Vice Admiral Onigumo wasn't particularly too strong in one aspect.

The characteristics of this opponent can be said to be comprehensive. No matter whether it is the six techniques of "Rokushiki", body techniques, swordsmanship, Haki, or even the use of firearms, they are not top, but they are not weak either. The two of them once moved at blinding speed, with one party attacking and the other on the defense. With a bang, they smashed into the wall of the adjoining courtyard. More and more of the ship was being destroyed with more marine soldiers being thrown off board.

"Boom!"

In that instant, a loud bang reverberated in the whole ship. Onigumo, who had just thrown Rayden out through the force of his attack into the wooden wall, once again flew in the opposite direction at an even more terrifying speed. He landed on the ground with a loud 'BAM' as he stomped on the ground, causing a thunderous boom to ring out across the entire ship.

A flash of black shadow gradually floated out from the cloud of swirling dust caused by the smashed wall. Shockingly, it was Rayden, who had just been smashed into the wall. His present physique began to slowly distort and swell, as if something had been released in his originally delicate and weak body. His physique also ballooned from his ordinary self to grow and expand, larger and higher, until he was 3.4 meters tall in the blink of an eye.

His eyes were deep gold now and the thunder flowing around him were now sizzling with deadly intensity. He had finally activated [Thunder Mode] (Level 2)!

"Come on. Let me see just how you intend to get rid of me!"

"Boom!" The entire ship seemed to tremble as he stepped outwards and stomped his foot on the courtyard.

"Thunder Flash!"

This time Onigumo couldn't even detect Rayden with his observation Haki fully activated, this was Rayden's first time using his [Shield] skill in battle. It could prevent the opponent's Haki from detecting him as long as his opponent's Haki was not about a level stronger than him. His body charged forwards!

"BOOOM!"

Onigumo tried to use all his eight hands to block out of reflex. Rayden's speed reached an alarming level and actually evaded Vice Admiral Onigumo's sabers. At the same time, the silver sword light seemed to be a form of thunderbolt, its speed was so fast that Vice Admiral Onigumo wasn't even given a chance to dodge it, came towards his neck.

"PUCHI!" A head directly flew up and blood splashed everywhere.

However, Rayden's charging figure appeared on the ship around 12 meters away from Vice Admiral Onigumo. This showed how fast he was moving.

'Bang!' Vice Admiral Onigumo's headless corpse crashed down!

Looking at the now headless corpse of Onigumo, Rayden immediately activated his [Devour] skill. A greyish energy started flowing from Onigumo's corpse into his body. This process continued for a few second until all the soul energy had dissipated. Because his Devour skill wasn't high leveled enough, he still couldn't devour much energy from his kills. But the current Onigumo still supplied him with 150 energy points.

After finally finishing off Onigumo, Rayden signed. He could now vaguely determine his strength level now. At [Thunder Mode](Level 1), he was slightly weaker than Onigumo but still at A+ level. But after activating [Thunder Mode] ( Level 2), he instantly shot to the peak of A++. He could now determine that most A++ tiered fighters are not his match but there was still a distance between him and an S- rank.

In the One Piece world, as long as your power level doesn't vastly exceed your opponent, it is very difficult to kill them. The only reason he was able to so easily dispatch Vice Admiral Onigumo come from his two major skills; [Thunder Mode] and [Shield]!

[Thunder Mode] allows him to have both inhumane speed and reflex reaction rate and [Shield] also allows him to escape the detection of Observation Haki. With these two skills both activate, Onigumo didn't even realise his attack until the last moment. At that time, it was already to late.

Still in [Thunder Mode] ( Level 2), he looked at the few marines who had still held on and stayed on the ship. These marines were also starring at him with horror. It wasn't that these marine officers were not brave but rather, the manner in which Rayden killed the Navy Vice Admiral Onigumo who they considered "invincible" in these parts really shocked them.

Even though Onigumo wasn't really a good role model as he required absolute obedience of his orders or else the consequence would be death, these officers still saw him as a pillar, having time and time again dispatched very strong pirates. Now that their pillar was destroyed, they were absolutely terrified!

Rayden had also steeled his heart about what he needed to do so there was no hesitation on his part.

'Illusionary Sword Step!'

This time he used this skill instead of Thunder Flash since it was enough to take care of these weaklings. Blood immediately splashed everywhere as Rayden began to slaughter his way through these Marines. They didn't even have a chance to fight back. While engaging in this massacre, his [Devour] skill was already activated. Soul energy was flowing into him non stop.

After about thirty minutes, Rayden was once again a standing in his speed boat. After killing these marines, he also destroyed the warship to get rid of the remaining evidence. As he thought of the series of plans that he had made he began to anticipate the future more and more. As long as he is able to level up his [Devour] skill as soon as possible, he can set all his plans into motion.

But for now, during his rescue and retrieve task, even if he met Doflamingo, he was very confident of being able to escape even if he as not able to match him.
