Hi, everyone! Sorry for such a long wait. It was earlier today that I got hit with a bunch of inspiration and... guess what!? I have just finished writing the next four chapters! I have finished this story - thank goodness! It has been way too long. I loved writing it. But I am so sorry for the wait.

Anyways, here is the next chapter.

If you are confused - do not worry! I have recapped everything in this chapter. This chapter is supposed to be kind of lame and funny. I couldn't resist. I think it rocks because it explains the last 24 chapters perfectly. You won't need to go back to read the earlier chapters if you are confused.

"H. E. L. P!"

"How about we stop reading?" Stella suggested pitifully, looking at the hybrid falling apart.

"HEL-"

There was a loud bang.

Then, silence.

The group stared at Mirta in horror. She lay on the floor, out completely cold with My Melody sitting open beside her.

Above her, Amaryl stood, a few pages from My Melody ripped out in her hands.

"YOU MONSTER!" Timmy cried out. With yell, Timmy was out of his seat and flying through the air towards Amaryl. "You killed her!" He pushed her to the ground, both of them landing ungracefully on the floor.

"Bro, Mirta isn't dead!" Brandon called out, quickly standing up to pull Timmy off the floor. "Amaryl just smacked another down."

"I wasn't talking about Mirta!" Timmy said. "The book! The poor book!" Intense sobbing came from him and Brandon took a few quick steps backwards. "She died! She ripped some pages out! It's ruined!"

"Okaaaaaaay…" Riven said slowly. "I'll get the duct tape?" Brandon sighed.

"Let's go."

The Winx Read My Melody

Chapter 25: Welcome Back

*record scratch*

*freeze frame*

As if it was a TV show that aired on multiple different networks and dubbed by many different people, the scene was frozen in place. A girl with purple hair clutched a little brown book in her hands with five others chasing her.

"Yeah. That's me." The camera zoomed in on the face of a man with magenta hair. "You're probably wondering how I ended up here," Riven began. He sighed and took a step out of the freeze frame, leaving the five others behind, still rooted to the spot. "All I have to say is… Well, it's been quite a journey. There were sixteen of us to begin with, now we are down to six." He glanced to Stella, whom clutched the book. He sighed. "Five, actually. I'll start from the beginning…

"We were all called to Mrs. F's office earlier, saying it was an emergency. Bloom, Stella, Flora, Musa, Layla, Tecna, Roxy, Mirta, Sky, Brandon, Helia, Timmy, and myself were thrown into the worst situation possible. A curse.

"No, not actually a curse… Actually, yeah. We are totally cursed. This book was supposedly from the future, but it really just ruined out futures. As soon as we opened it, it was like it had a hold on us. We can't escape." He let out a chuckle. "Damn, just listen to me. I sound like a sap." He turned to the scene and frowned. "Where was I? Oh, right. Being sucked in.

"As soon as we were sucked in, we couldn't stop. This book was clearly not from the future – it contained the lives of us, set many years in the future, but it wasn't possible it was true. My BFFL Nabu, who died, was in it, like, totally alive."

"Dude, who are you talking to?" Another voice joined in on the conversation. Riven looked away from the wall and turned to Brandon, one of the members chasing Stella. Riven pointed right at the wall.

"Our readers." Brandon turned to look where Riven pointed. Realization dawned on his face.

"Right, gotchu. You're doing the freeze frame meme, aren't you?"

"Totally. Plus, I'm summarizing what has happened so far."

A look of confusion passed over Brandon. "If they are our readers, why do they need a refresher? Didn't they just read it all? Why do they need to read it again?"

"I need to remind everyone what is going on, dude. It's been over a year and a half since the writer has updated this and almost five years since it was first posted."

"Dang," Brandon whistled.

"If I were a reader, I would have totally given up on this story by now. Or if I was still around, I would have totally forgotten what happened. That's why I'm refreshing everyone." Brandon gave Riven a pointed look.

"… You just wanted to do the freeze frame meme, didn't you?" A guilty smile passed over Riven's lips.

"Totally." Brandon nodded knowingly. "Anyways, back to the story. Even though this book wasn't from the future, we still wanted to read it. We read it for fun-"

"I wouldn't say that burning brain cells is fun…" Brandon muttered. Riven shot him a look. "Oh. Sorry. Continue."

"We each started to go crazy, just a little bit." Brandon laughed loudly.

"Like when I made out with the librarian!"

"Or when Sky shaved Helia's head." They both chuckled as they glanced at their newly bald friend. "We figured out that the book was possessing us. If we didn't finish it, we would pay. We already lost ten of our fellow readers."

"L. O. L. – you are referring as us as readers to our readers. Inception, bro."

"We lost Musa first, then Bloom and Tecna. They were each possessed by the book and were becoming dangerous. Next, Mrs. F totally lost it and Brandon took a sick tackle to her."

"Good times."

"Next was Sky. He really lost it. Shaved Helia and braided his hair into his." They both shivered.

"That's messed up, dude."

"After that, Mrs. G went crazy and Stella beat her down. Flora was taken down by Amaryl, but then we lost Amaryl, Mirta and Timmy earlier today."

"We are just down to Roxy, Helia, Riven, Layla, Stella, and me."

"Scratch that. Just Helia, Layla, Stella, Brandon and myself," Riven corrected. They both glanced over to the frozen picture of their friends. "Roxy is… uh… Well, she's possessed."

"Plus, we have all taken a beating. Helia is bald, Riven has a broken nose, Stella has a concussion, and I have scarred memories of kissing older ladies. The only one that came out of this adventure untouched is Layla," Brandon said.

"Well, she's actually going through an identity crisis right now. Is her name Aisha or Layla? Is she the princess of Tides or Andros? Is she the fairy of liquids or Morphix? Is she in love with Nabu, Roy or that other dude?"

"Other dude?"

"Yeah, man, apparently her new love interest is Nex."

"Who the heck is that?"

"I don't know. Anyways, we have all taken a beating. I'm not sure how much longer we will last," Riven said. Brandon frowned.

"Well, we need to last as long as we can. We need to survive this book so we can all go free. We are almost done."

"That is if the ripped out pages from Amaryl." Riven frowned and Brandon turned to face the wall again. "Amaryl ripped out a chunk of the book when she went crazy, causing Timmy to lose it too."

"Aaaaaand we don't know where those pages are. We only have one chapter that is…" There was an uncomfortable glance. "The chapter left is unsavory between my daughter, Melody and one of her several boyfriends…"

"There is so many things messed up with that sentence," Brandon muttered. "Either way, we don't have the rest of the book. The middle was ripped out and so was the ending, leaving one chapter in the middle that contains some scarring material that nobody would subject anybody to. How did Amaryl leave only that one chapter? She ripped out and took everything else…"

"Convenience, man," Riven responded. He looked back to the frozen scene. "We should get back. We need to catch Roxy before she does anything crazy." Brandon nodded in agreement.

The two men turned away from the wall that they were staring intently at and walked back to their previous position. They raised their leg and posed their arms, imitating running. As soon as they got back into their positions, the scene started again.

The reason I have taken so long to update this story is due to my personal life. I have been doing some intense schooling these past few years and it has really paid off (study hard to all of those still in school). I am still in school and really enjoying it. I have had people come into and leave my life - that is how things go. I am thankful for all of the people I have met and thankful for all of the lessons.

Along with personal reasons, I also took a break from this story because of my other stories! I have several on the go... Some have been waiting for updates longer than you guys have! I know, I know... I'm evil. But I'm slowly working out each story! Things are going well. Sorry again for the long wait.

An important note: I will NEVER leave my stories unfinished (The Obvious Wishes, Fire of Hope, The Winx Read My Melody, or Changes). Some have been a very long time without being updated :( but I really want to finish them. I never want to give up on a story. I love all of my readers (especially my reviewers) and I grow very attached to plot lines. Unfortunately, real life has been causing craziness recently (as is true with all of you), so my updating has not been strong! I am back for this story now! It should be wrapped up within the week. I am so happy.
