So, hey. A new, long overdue chapter. Bear with me, there will be fights within two chapters. Read and Review and be honest. I accept flames with open arms ;) Also, a question for a chapter farther down the line, should there be a fight between Gine and Queen Okra? And what are some other fights you guys would like to see? Let me know in the Review section please along with your story feedback.
As Zorn stood patiently, militarily at ease to the side of the throne, his brows were downcast in muted worry as the Queen idly spun the contained needle within her hand.
According to the soldiers who had just dropped it off, it was the liquid solution that Queen Okra was so excited about.
The extract from that infant Legendary Super Saiyan.
"Your highness, are you sure this is wise?" Zorn spoke up after an uncomfortable silence. The way at which Okra seemed to be studying the container was a bit unnerving. She didn't seem hestitant at all about the nature of what she was holding. As if she waiting for the perfect moment to enact her plan.
"We've done all the possible research on Broly's blood. Besides, we're going to need it," she explained offhandedly, still not quite answering the question. Zorn was about to question her further when a loud beeping sound blared before the monitor in the room activated. It was the same monitor that the recording was viewed on, and it had remained in it's spot ever since. To get a better vantage point, Zorn made his way to the side of the throne, just far off enough that he wouldn't be in view of the monitor from the caller's side.
Zorn's breath caught in his throat at the sight of who it was.
"Ah, Cooler. What do I owe this unexpected call?"
Okra's advisor's expression was contorted into that of shock at the Queen's indelicate greeting. Had she gone mad?
The Arcosian seemed less than pleased at her attitude himself, his eyes narrowed dangerously. "In an act of selflessness, I am offering you one chance to surrender both your planet and all of it's resources."
It was Okra's turn for her eyes to narrow. She leaned forward slightly, her fingers steepled. "And if I refuse your gracious offer?"
Cooler wasn't sure what it was, but the Queen was behaving awfully arrogant, as though she were brushing him off, when in reality it should be the other way around!
"Simple," Cooler retorted, leaning forward in his own command chair. "Refuse, and your planet is space dust!" The transmission cut abruptly, shortly after his words, as if preventing Okra from having the last word.
The queen merely grunted in satisfaction, leaning back on her throne.
Through those tense, short moments, Zorn felt as if a crushing pressure was within his chest. He couldn't just stay silent after that exchange!
"My Queen, if I speak bluntly..."
"Go ahead."
"With all due respect...Do you know what you've done!?" Zorn's voice raised in volume as his demand was voiced. "There's no way we can repel the Planet Trade Organization, let alone Cooler himself!"
Without turning her head, Okra glared at him from the corners of her eyes, causing Zorn to flinch as if struck.
"I...apologize for my rudeness," Zorn recanted, lowering his gaze. Although, he was still unsure of the planet's fate now that the Queen acted so recklessly. The way things were progressing, he doubted she would try to negotiate with Cooler, let alone accept his "gracious offer".
Okra inhaled through her nose before exhaling.
"Zorn, don't you worry about Cooler. This is what all the research has been for. I was expecting Cold's family to make a move now that Frieza is dead," she explained, rising from her throne and approaching the Royal Advisor. "With this, me, and the rest of the planet will be more powerful than even Cold could ever imagine," she added, presenting the needle she had been holding in her hand.
Even if it was the DNA of a legendary Super Saiyan...was it even enough?
"I am unsure if it will be enough to-"
Zorn ceased speaking when suddenly, Okra pressed the needle into her own arm, releasing the contents into her bloodstream. She let out a small laugh before tossing the empty device to the floor.
He looked at the needle incredulously, now empty.
"Oh and Zorn?"
Before he could make eye contact with her, her arm was a blur, suddenly finding something colliding with the side of his head. After being sent through the wall, to the surprise of some hapless guards in the adjacent room, he grunted in pain, cupping the side of his face.
"Do be mindful of who you're raising your voice at," she stated calmly before lowering her arm and vacating the room.
Zorn still remained laid out on the floor, rubble from a now non-existent wall surrounding him. He propped himself on one elbow, wondering if his Queen indeed had it all planned out or if she starting to lose her sanity.
Goku concentrated, just long enough to pinpoint his location, before his body felt like it was slipping into pathway of sorts. For him, time slowed down as everything around him seemed to flash in different colors as if he were inside of a police siren looking out. As he followed the trail before him, his surrounding seemed to blur back into real space as he neared his destination, before finally, with a loud whistling sound, he slipped out of whatever it was that he first slipped into. He removed his fingers from atop his forehead as Vegeta finally noticed his presence.
"What are you doing here, clown?"
Vegeta had been sitting atop a cliff face, one knee raised up with his arm resting atop it, examining the much different sky of their home planet. Usually, when Vegeta ended his sentence like that, Goku learned that meant he had something on his mind.
"Alright, what's up?" the younger Saiyan asked sitting down next to him, resting his hands behind him on the ground. Vegeta grunted as if mildly disapproving of Goku's decision to sit down but didn't call him out on it.
"I'm getting sick of this planet," Vegeta stated bluntly, not re moving his eyes from the view of the sky. Goku followed his gaze up to the cloudless sky, wondering just what it was that Vegeta was seeing or hoping to see.
"Well, can't argue with ya there. But I do have some good news."
"If it's not the location of a time machine, I doubt it's good news," the Prince sighed irritably.
Goku shrugged before speaking. "I think Paragus can make a time machine, or something like it. Remember how he and that squid guy made Broly's ring-"
"Ugh, I don't need any reminders of Broly. Do you seriously believe he would be the key to getting us out of here?" Vegeta inquired before standing up. Better yet, I'm ashamed I hadn't thought of it sooner. Why don't we just use those Dragon Balls to get home?"
Goku's expression didn't show surprise, so Vegeta was under the impression he'd already considered that.
"I dunno. I'm not familiar enough with Kami's signature to even know where he'd be right now. And I'm not sure where Namek even is from here..."
"Just great," Vegeta muttered angrily under his breath, turning his back and crossing his arms. "So we're stuck here with a bunch of foolish Saiyans, an irritating queen and an insane stalker."
"What?" Goku questioned, more specifically, to that last bit of Vegeta's sentence. The prince coughed awkwardly before ordering him to forget about it.
"So, about Paragus, you think he can build one?"
Goku nodded once. "I think so. Oh!" His eyes widened as he remembered what else he was meaning to tell him.
"Also, I think you're mom's trying to use Broly's blood for something."
Vegeta had remained silent after this revelation, slightly unnerving Goku. "Vegeta?"
"She's what!?" Vegeta nearly exploded, turning around almost quickly enough to give his own hair whiplash. "What even gives you that impression!?"
"I sorta snuck into the palace and overheard her talking to an important looking guy?" Vegeta groaned in frustration, firstly at Goku's antics, but then at the reality of the situation.
"She had a needle in her hand," Goku continued, whispering 'needle' as if it was a forbidden word that should never be spoken aloud.
"A needle?" Vegeta parroted, trying to process the information he was hearing. "No, that's ridiculous! She wouldn't!" he claimed, beginning to pace back and forth. "Fine!" he announced as if coming to a decision. "You go speak with Paragus. I'm going to confront my mother." Vegeta hbegan to ascend into the air, muttering about whether this should even bother him at all. But to inject herself with Broly's DNA? If that's what she was planning to do, he wasn't going to just let her do something so...cowardly! Even if this was some alternate past or whatever!
Guaranteed fight next chapter. I swear, I'm trying not to make this over dramatic. But there will be fights galore next chapter, so stay tuned!
