When Nothing Works out like you thought it would...

Arizona smiled to herself, rather smugly at the heated memory of their first taste of romance in many months. Callie was in the shower first, while she was getting Sofia changed and her diaper bag ready. The daily grind of being a mother and a wife...she sometimes had honestly zoned out and let Callie do most of the work lately and she intended to change that. She was going to be home more and spend more time with her family.

She brought the toddler into their room and left her near the lounge chair with several toys. She heard the unmistakeable ring of Callie's phone and turned in a full circle around the bedroom...seeking the source...

"Babe, that's my phone, it's in my purse...see who it is?"

She found Callie's bag had fallen on the floor between the night stand and bed, slightly dumping the contents...she grabbed her phone and saw it was DR. Bailey calling...personal or work unknown.

"It's Bailey" ….

Arizona screamed from the room ….as she went to pick up Callie's things and shove them back into the purse. Two wallets...Various lip glosses, receipts, business cards...she wondered if Callie was a secret hoarder...dumping all the extras inside...a plain white envelope with Callie's name scrawled in unfamiliar handwriting sat at the bottom ….Arizona squinted first...thinking that was very odd...what was it about and from who?

She felt her stomach clench but didn't know why...she reached her hand to grab the envelope...then retreated...she wouldn't want Callie rifling through her stuff...surely they trusted each other anyway so it didn't matter...it was most likely nothing and if it had been something, Callie would mention it, Arizona reasoned with herself... Right...She piled more items on top..her fingertips running the edges of the letter...just as she was thinking again to pull it out for a closer inspection...

"Did you answer her or just throwing my stuff on the floor?", Callie's husky voice made her jump and startled her.

Arizona withdrew her hand and explained the situation. She handed Callie her purse and turned her back so just in case she had a guilty look in her eyes, it would go unnoticed. It was nothing...just because she had nearly cheated just yesterday while Callie was out of town all weekend was no reason to go questioning her...Arizona sure didn't want any questions thrown her way about anything over the last several days. How their separate trips had gone hadn't came up yet in conversation surprisingly.

"You know, I was hoping that Sofia might still be asleep and you could have joined me in the shower...Callie's eyes looked heated and she winked, "I still have to return the favor"...

"Wow, I would have loved that too,"Arizona said wistfully, nodding her head to their daughter..."no such luck...maybe tonight or tomorrow...or an on-call room...

She glanced around to see that Callie already had Sofia on her hip and headed to the front door. Arizona did a double take...keys, wallet , phone, pager, kid...yep ready..."So how deep are we booked today?"

Callie glanced in the rear view mirror as they headed to the hospital..."Not Sure really until we get there and look at the board...

The rest of the morning went smoothly, bowel reconstruction, an Appy that went well until an errant bleeder went all over the front of her scrubs...then a break...Callie was swamped in the OR next door...Arizona sank into the couch at the Surgeon's lounge. She needed to change and then do some afternoon rounds, maybe swing by the daycare.

She got up and opened her locker, Callie always kept an extra top in there for her...she did nice , little things like that...or remembered to pack her lunch if Arizona forgot...she smiled...Callie had done a lot over the last year that she had taken for granted. She threw the ruined scrub top in the biohazard bin, lost in thought...standing in a low-cut pink lacy bra and blue scrub bottoms. Walking back towards her locker, she heard the door click and turned to face Leah Murphy.

Leah rarely saw Arizona out of surgery...or for that matter..out of her clothes apparently...her own hazel eyes were drawn the to the curves of Arizona's shoulders, long blonde hair, lovely round breasts and flat toned stomach. She was shocked, knew she should look away...but her private thoughts questioning her own sexuality wouldn't let her...yes she found Arizona sexy...very pretty and powerful around the hospital...she knew Arizona recently had a wandering eye and wondered what perks flirting with the vulnerable Attending might get her...

About 30 seconds may have passed but it seemed like forever...as Arizona leaned down to get her top from the bench, her hair fell down shielding her face from Leah. Arizona's eyes wide as she knew that for whatever reason, Leah had just totally checked her out ...her eyes had went all over her body and left a smile on her intern's face no less...Murphy was grinning like a fool and had yet to speak a word...this was trouble she didn't need...

Finally breaking the tension, "Can I help you Murphy?", Arizona said facing her back to her.

Leah took another couple of steps until she was closer than necessary..."I was hoping you could..but I'm not sure...I'm feeling really confused"...She gave her hair a quick flip to the side and her eyes twinkled as she gave Arizona her "please undress me" smile...
