Title: A Christmas to Remember
Disclaimer: I do not own InuYasha and Co.
Summary: "Tell me Higurashi, did you and the mythological Lord have tea together?" Her teacher asked sarcastically. "No professor, The Lord of the Western lands and I never had tea together, although we did spend Christmas together." was her simple reply. S/K
A/N: So, I am feeling waaaay better! So that's some good news. However, at the moment, I am stuck inside due to the after effects of Hurricane Harvey. I live about 2-3 hours away from the initial impact point which means that I am hiding at home and trying to ignore the fact that there is nonstop raining, winds, and a flash flood watch for the next four days.
Kagome Higurashi knew only one thing at the moment.
Her head was pounding.
Slowly opening her eyes, she let out a silent yawn of exhaustion. Whatever sleep had occurred did little to nothing for her exhaustion.
As she attempted to sit up, she noticed several things.
She was in his bed—still.
He was asleep.
Finally yet most importantly, she was held captive in his arms.
She could feel the heat growing in her cheeks as she took in her surroundings. Their bodies intertwined with one another not much differently than his silver hair and her ebony locks. His arms held her possessively, almost as if to protect her from the harsh elements of the world. As she attempted to squirm out of his grasp, she gasped quietly as his nose accidently tickled her ear. Closing her eyes in embarrassment, she ceased her attempt at escape.
Still, she could not help but smile at the events that had transpired. She had not meant to release the dam of emotions on him like that. Yet, it had been because of Rin. Because of that, he had not faulted her in having such emotions. Instead, he comforted her.
He had understood her pain.
It was at that thought that emotion flooded her once again. What had happened to the little girl? Did she have a happy life? Had something happened to her? She should have asked him all these things. Instead, she had fallen asleep from pure exhaustion. For some reason, he had allowed such intimacy. Had he allowed it because of his memories for Rin?
"Miko, you will cease your mourning."
Had he not held her so tightly, she knew would have jumped in shock. Eyes shot up to meet the Daiyoukai but in doing so, it had brought even more intimacy among them. They were face-to-face—nose-to-nose, and her body continued to be protected by his embrace. She had understood his words, and smiled at the worry that was in his tone.
"Thank you."
Other than those simple words, she knew of nothing else to explain her feelings. He had rescued her from the possibility of being alone, he was training her to ensure her acceptance into their society, and he had somehow understood everything it was that she needed. Or wanted.
Memories of the winter they had spent together came flying back. The rare emotions he had shown. Their time together with Rin. She couldn't help but wonder what she had done to deserve it all. She had asked for nothing from him—and yet he had continuing to give her everything. It seemed that even after five hundred years he was determined to take care of her. She thanked the gods for such a thing—thanked them for bringing him.
Powerful amber eyes stared at her in curiosity and hesitation. Her thoughts caused her to blush, and she knew he could smell her embarrassment. Did he know her thoughts? She hoped not. Yet, his eyes gave nothing away. Unable to stop herself, she studied his expression for any possible answers. Yet, he had always been so talented in not showing too much of his emotions.
She leaned closer with determination. Within seconds, their foreheads touched. Yet neither individual moved. Neither broke eye contact. Without fully understanding her actions, she allowed her lips to brush against his. Waiting for argument, or resistant—she was surprised when none was given. Instead, amber eyes gazed at her with an unknown expression. Gathering up her courage, she allowed her lips to find his once more. This time, it was with more confidence.
She would have described it as slow, and soft. Comforting, even.
It had been all those things.
Until it wasn't.
Then he had reacted.
Not at all in the way had she thought.
His lips slammed down on hers and for a moment, she wasn't sure if she could breathe. Pressing his tongue onto her lips, he began to explore the inside of my mouth. Neither of them seemed shocked at the access that she had given so freely. So quickly.
She didn't know what she was doing. Or why. All she knew was that her body was reacting. Her fingers tangled with his hair, while his arms were forcing their bodies closer. A foreign moan escaped her lips as she felt a fire spread throughout her entire body.
It's just a kiss.
She had tried to tell herself this. Yet, as she pulled back to look up at him, she knew that was not true. The swirls of emotion that she had found in his eyes had said something much different.
Lust, desire, but also something else.
Then he had let out a low growl and roughly brought her back to him. Covering her mouth. Crushing their lips together. Another moan escaped her lips before she was able to stop it. She told herself she had not meant for such a thing to happen. Yet, that did not explain why their lips fit each other's perfectly—as if it meant to be. Or why every touch had felt like a static of electricity. Or even why she was unable to pull away.
However, he had been.
Sesshoumaru had grabbed the back of her neck while growling into the passionate kiss. She had not moaned this time—instead, she whimpered. His arms pushed her down on the bed, and she was sure that they were going to continue.
Continue whatever this was.
Instead, The Daiyoukai stood up and removed himself off her. She could have sworn she heard a growl rumble from the back of his throat. This time, it was not of passion but one of frustration. As he neared the door, he turned to gaze at her.
"Be wary of your actions, miko. One might get the wrong idea and think you are attempting to court your alpha."
The words had not shocked her. No, it had been something else. In fact, she had hardly heard the words. She was far too blown away to take in the full meaning of what he had implied.
The speck of red in his eyes.
That had been where all her attentions lay.
A/N: Sooo, I don't really do heated/romantic scenes. That being said, hope it wasn't too bad. ;) In case anyone is wondering, the next chapter is off Sesshoumaru's POV. Also, it will involve meeting the council. Hope every enjoyed! Remember to review! :)
