Ian never ran so far in his life. His search was proving to be too much for his weak body. He ran around town asking people if they knew where a creepy guy lived. That's all he knew about Yumi's kidnapper and it wasn't much to go on. But Ian ran around the whole block looking for some way to find Denise. He found a guy who said he knew where Denise lives, but he was hooked up on something and thought he was asking about his mother. There was just no luck in the case.

Ian eventually stopped when his throat was dry, stopped at a restaurant with outside tables, and drank sparkling orange juice. It was just Ian alone with his Bakugan Leontess. If Yumi found out he was drinking instead of searching she would surely pull him by the ear.

"Why are we drinking here, Ian?" Leontess asked Ian while he continued slurping his drink.

"I'm thirsty," Ian said putting down his orange juice. " I know we're supposed to be looking for Denise but I can't just look all over town with a dry throat.

" Are you sure you're not just trying to avoid Yumi?"

"No."

" It's okay to tell me the truth. You're happy that Yumi's talking to you but you're afraid she's still mad at you, maybe even hurt you."

Ian shivered at the thought. It was true. Yumi had changed since the last time they spoke. She used to be funny and a little whimsical. Now she was scary like a black bear. " Do you know what's weird? Yesterday I knew Yumi would return to me. Well, it was a dream. Ever watch the show All Dogs go to Heaven? It was kind of like I was a dog trying to comfort this female dog with another dog helping me. First she hated me and then we were…"

" You were what?"

Ian shook his head. Telling Leontess would be too embarrassing. "It doesn't matter. I was just dreaming. We weren't dogs the entire dream. We became humans and then we were in this desert with hideous men wearing lizard skin going after us. I saw one of them talk to his father but I didn't know what it meant. "

" I think you would know what it means. It was your dream after all."

Leontess had a point. It was Ian's dream after all. If the dream was weird it was because Ian was weird. Until now Ian considered himself to be the sanest of the duo (him and Yumi) now he was becoming Yumi when Neon became his friend. Speaking of Neon…he showed up at the same restaurant Ian was having his drink. And he was carrying something only an insane person would carry, a katana and a battle axe.

" Ian, check this out." Neon laughed raising his arms up and down. He had a silly smile at how he possessed weapons. Everyone else thought he was a crazy person who liked weapons. They got up and left. " I brought weapons."

"Neon, what are you thinking?!" Ian gasped seeing Neon with those weapons. "If the police catch you holding those you'll get arrested."

"No they won't because these weapons are fake. But they look so real, right? The blades are made of plastic and the handles are made of tape for hockey sticks. I was thinking when we find this alien guy we can threaten him to give Denise back with these. "

"Neon, he nearly drowned us in Denise's house. I don't think he's intimidated by swords and knives even if they were real."

"You're right. He could have a turret or a machine gun on his roof. There's only one thing to do."

" Tell the police about the kidnapping and let them do their job of protecting and serving?" Ian asked hoping Neon would know it was the right decision.

" We need to find a bunch of rocks and throw them at the holes of those turrets. "

Ian nearly fell down at Neon's stupid idea, but he managed to slide his body back up. " The turrets will kill us before we even throw rocks at them.

"That's not true. " Neon said crossing his weapons. "I saw it in a movie once."

First thing wrong with Neon: he couldn't see the difference between movies and real life. Second thing wrong with Neon: His ego was so big that nothing could change his mind. " I got a better idea. How about first we find this guy's house and then we decide what to do."

"Yeah. Then we break in and show him our moves."

Neon showed Ian his moves. They looked ridiculous. First he jumped and then he swung his katana and axe everywhere. Ian covered his head in fear of his head being sliced off. It was a long show and it looked sort of cool, but it ended when Ian heard the loud shout from a type of man he never wanted to meet.

"Put your weapons down!"

The police were surrounding Ian and Neon. They had guns in their hands and SWAT cars around the area. Ian knew from the moment he saw the first officer that he and Neon were in big trouble.

"We have you surrounded. Put your weapons down."

"No, no! These are fake!" Neon cried. His big mistake was still holding the weapons in his hands when he tried to beg them to stop. "They are not real weapons. You can't arrest me, please! "

"Just put the weapons down, Neon!"

"Last warning. Put your weapons down or we will fire."

OOO

No surprise, Ian and Neon were sent to jail, the big house, the slammer, well, not yet. Right now they were in a police station holding cell. Ian didn't yell on the way there or even in the cell. He just sat and sighed. Why didn't he take the weapons out of Neon's hands sooner?

"And I thought being in detention with Yumi was bad."

"I didn't know carrying weapons around town was illegal!" Neon cried. Neon's mother must have been awfully ignorant to not teach him what he shouldn't do. " Movies lied to me!

"The worst part is…this is going on our permanent record." Ian felt like crying. His whole life was ruined. What was he even going to tell his adopted parent? In eight minutes hi parents were going to get a call from the police telling them he was in jail; on a lighter note it would be the first time they were actually home. " Wait. It doesn't have to end like this. Leontess, you can control people's minds, right?"

"I can influence people's decisions. Why do you need to know?"

"So you can tell the officer's to let us go and not put any of this on our permanent record."

" I could try but first I have to get out of this place. I can't move through walls after all."

" I got an idea!" Neon said raising his arms excitedly. The next thing Ian knew Neon was running to the jail cell door. "Hey guard…I bet you're a terrible husband and father. Your wife no longer loves you and your children don't respect you."

" I don't have that family yet." The guard said, his back pressed up against Neon.

" Oh. Well then…I got a gun."

Neon learned to use his last failures to save Ian from having his future completely ruined. He flew through the open door while Neon was having the living tar beat out of him. Once the guard subdued Neon he frisked his pants from pockets to feet and his entire shirt to find the gun. Ian was glad Neon didn't carry a real gun, that wouldn't look good.

"You don't have a gun. Don't lie like that again. You kids could get yourself in serious trouble. "
