I walked back up to the castle after watching Lil y and Scarlett leave on the train. When I got up to the dorm I saw that Scarlett's owl was fluttering by the window. I opened it, expecting to have to give the owl something that she left behind. So when the owl just dropped a package on my bed and flew away again, I was a bit shocked.
I opened the small box and saw a little note with Lily's handwriting.
So sorry you can't be with us on the train, here are some every flavour beans to enjoy while we're not there. Lily and Scarlett.
I smiled at them and fell heavily on to my bed, making all of the beans jump out of the box. I sighed and put them all back in before putting them on my bedside table and lying down to look at the roof.
I had tons of homework, but I didn't want to do any of it just yet.
"Oh, hi Citrus." Peach said. "I thought you had gone home."
"No, I'm staying here these holidays."
"Okay, but if you ever want something to do you can join me and the guys."
"I think I'll pass."I said.
"Okay, but the offer is open if you want it." she said walking out of the door and I slupmed back again.
I turned on the raido and tried to sing along to the music. When that got boring I pulled out my homework.
Looking at it ruined my motivation to do anything. I tried to comb my fingers through my hair and decided that I needed another shower.
With the hot water running over me I felt much better and slipped into a world of day dreams.
I smiled and though about how things could have been done differently.
My thoughts then moved to home. Not to everything happening with my family, but the boy next door. His mother was a Muggle-Born, but he wasn't magical. We got along so well as kids, I just can't help but wonder what would have happened if he had come to Hogwarts.
Over the summer holidays we had spent so much time together. I had told him about everything that I had learnt in school. I knew that it made him sad, but he was happy that he could still know about this world.
He said that I had grown so much over the months I had been away. He had changed a little, but not as much as I had I think. I wonder how much he'll have changed next time I see him. I was jolted from thinking about Liam when I looked at my hands and saw that they had gone all pruny. I turned off the tap and went about getting dressed again.
I sat in the bathroom and dried my hair with the towel, still lost in thought, not wanting to go back to the outside world.
"Citrus! Are you in there?" Peach yelled banging on the door.
"Yeah." I called back.
"Get out! I need to go and it's dinner time."
"Oh." I said and opened the door.
"How long have you been in there?" she asked. I looked past her to the dark window.
"All day I guess. I must have fallen asleep."
"Why were you in there all day?"
"I was trying to avoid homework."
"Fair enough, go eat though."
"I'm going."
"Good."
I grabbed a jumper as I walked past my things and walked down the stairs to the great hall. As I rounded the staircase to the common room Black, Potter and Remus jumped out at me.
"Ah, sorry Citrus." Potter said.
"We thought you were Peach." Black said.
I nodded and walked past them.
"Wait for us." Remus said. "We'll eat with you."
"Seeing as all your friends left you." Black said.
"Be nice about it." Peach said.
"Sorry Peach." Black said.
"Are you joining us for dinner Citrus?" Peach asked.
"She is." Potter said.
"Let's go then."
So without having a say in the matter my arms were linked with Peach and Black and we walked down to dinner.
I was seated in between Remus and Peach, in perfect position to watch the disgusting display that is Potter and Black race each other in eating competitions.
"Is this normal?" I asked Peach.
"Yes."
"It's even worse during the holidays because there are less people around to complain." Remus said.
So trying to ignore the sight in front of us I started to eat and enjoy a meal with the Marauders.
