A/N hey guys. I know this is kind of random, but some things in the story plot changed and I came up with some really cool ideas... So I've decided that we will only have between 5-10 more chapters in this story. For book 2, I've decided to only use a few POVs as more main POVs and use the others only sometimes. So I have a pole up on my profile. Please go vote for your favorite cats

disclaimer: I still don't own warriors

enjoy!

Chapter 24-

Pepperpaw POV

I sit in the den watching the rain. It's been raining all night. Honestly, I think StarClan is trying to turn us all RiverClan.

I'm preparing myself for a border patrol, then a whole day of battle training.

In the rain.

Joy.

I'm interrupted by a sound behind me.

Sneezing.

Oh StarClan no.

I heard about that strange sickness last night at the gathering. It seems that either we've gotten it to, or somecat has a cold.

I stand up and walk toward the sneezing. It's Snowpaw, she's Ravenpaw's sister. Her nose is runny and she looks as if she hasn't slept well.

"Snowpaw! Lets get you to Kestrelflight. Come on." I meow. She gets up and we slowly make our way through the heavy rain to Kestrelflight's den.

I guess I'll be starting patrol already soaked.

...

Snowpaw only has a cold, for now at least. Kestrelflight sent her back to the apprentices' den, after some herbs, with strict orders to rest. This is Skypaw and Scarletpaw's first day as apprentices. Even though they are brother and sister, they are absolutely nothing alike. While Skypaw is cautious and thoughtful, Scarletpaw is energetic and care-free. Hopefully Larkear can put her energy to use.

"Pepperpaw, come on. We are due for a border patrol." Meows Heathertail at the entrance to the apprentice den. I had just gotten back and had begun to dry my fur.

"Alright." I reply, standing up.

The moment we step outside, it seems as if the rain only gets worse. Don't get me wrong, I love what rain does to the moors and the forest. I know that we need the rain. But does it have to be this much?

As we leave the camp, I look towards ThunderClan territory. Only to see something wonderful. The trees, they are no longer green. They are mixed with shades of red, yellow, orange, and still a few are green. It's, amazing.

I realize that I'm standing still, rain pouring over me. I shake myself and run to catch up with the patrol.

We head towards our border with RiverClan. I wonder if they like this weather? I wonder if Willowpaw enjoys being there? I think this clan switch will be difficult to overcome. Jayfeather said that we have to go back to ThunderClan. I'm going to get in so much trouble for this, but do I even want to go back? I mean, I have Ravenpaw as a friend, and Scarletpaw and Skypaw are fun to be around even after only a day of them being apprentices. And what about,...

"Halt!" Yowls a voice

"What are you doing do near the border?"

I see that it is a dark brown Tom, leading a patrol.

"We are on a border patrol." Meows Heathertail

They eye us warily, then seem to approve our patrol and walk off.

"Come on," meows Heathertail "let's head down to the lake, away from those fish-breaths."

We nod and begin a swift run towards the lake. The air is cold with the rain, I fear Leafbare may be setting in already.

...

The rain is down to a drizzle and the sky is a bit lighter. I'm now on my way to a training session. I'm going to be working with Ravenpaw to teach some things to Scarletpaw. Onestar said that he wants an older apprentice and a younger one to help teach the two newest apprentices. For practice I guess.

When I arrive at the clearing, I see my mentor and Scarletpaw are already here, but no Ravenpaw. I enter the clearing and sit. He'll arrive when he does.

All of a sudden I hear the sound of paw-steps behind me, I whirl around to find Ravenpaw attacking me. What's going on?

He lands in front of me. "Good, you heard the paw steps. Now lets battle as an example for Scarletpaw. Remember claws sheathed."

I nod and we take defensive stances.

We slowly circle one another. I'm not quite sure what to do. He stops and leaps above me, I try to gage where he'll land. He lands behind me and throws me off balance with a well placed paw.

I quickly get up. Remember, I tell myself, WindClan is light and swift. They are always on their guard. They know what to do, if they don't they improvise.

I jump to the side as he charges at me, he flips around quickly and I figure it out. Trip him. He runs again, this time I look to one side and jmo to the other. When he turns around I'm already there to quickly jab his leg with a paw as he tries to flip around. He falls and I step back, proud of my work. Then before I know it, I too am flat on my face in the mud. He tripped me when I wasn't looking. He wins, of course.

We lay in the mud, not wanting to get up, laughing at ourselves and soon Scarletpaw joins in.

"Can I try? Please please please!" She asks

"Alright fine," meows Ravenpaw "but first lets teach you a few good moves."

We spend the rest of the day trying to teach her how to jump, and stay, on an opponent's back. Lets just say that she has a lot to learn.
