Total Eclipse of the Heart

OK so my muse has totally lost it with this piece (what with my love hate Spixie relationship, Night Shift being over, Claire Coffee being taken off contract, the fact that Lucas is pretty much an OC at this point and the lack of Milo since forever ago. Seriously Matt is the only person I'm not 100 present pissed at and that's mainly cause of Mecca (Matt and Natalia Livingston's new character Rebecca Shaw). However I am determined to finish this piece as there are only about four or five chapters remaining. I'm sorry in advance if things are getting choppy as well as I'm sorry for this long Author Note. Needless to say this is pretty much AR at the moment. If you are still reading now would be the time to tell me as much so that my muse may be inspired to craft a decent ending.

Matt was thrilled to finally be back at work and was just finishing up a shift when he heard her familiar voice from behind him.

"I bet now your missing all that relaxation."

Matt shook his head.

"Not a chance."

He leaned in to kiss her, however she took a step to the side rejecting his advance.

Placing his hands on his hip he looked at her.

"What did I do now?"

Nadine let out a small laugh.

"Nothing."

"Then why..."

It then hit him like a ton of bricks. He knew that his relationship with the young nurse was defiantly not traditional however he thought she liked that about things.

"I think we should go out Hunter, like a real date."

"We're going to my brother's wedding."

Nadine sighed.

"I know that, but I want a real date now."

"Now...fine, is tonight soon enough for you."

Nadine gently kissed his cheek and nodded.

Across town Kyle was helping Claire into his car. "Thank you," she said as the young man smiled.

"Don't mention it; anyway tell me again why your boyfriend couldn't take you."

Claire watched as Kyle got into the passengers seat.

"Well I figured your n your way to work, why bother him during his final days employed for Sonny."

"Please, you'd give anything to see him not with the godfather, I mean wasn't his employment that made you skeptical to date him in the beginning."

Claire nodded guilty as charged.

"That was the old me."

"What, you mean before you were a target for criminal activity."

"Kyle stop."

"Fine, I'm just saying."

Claire rolled her eyes as the last thing she needed was to be lectured on her love life.

Closing her eyes as the card rolled on she began to slip into the daydream they she loved so much. A daydream of her and Milo twirling around the dance floor of Robin and Patrick's wedding.

Ever since deciding to stick around Lucas was grateful not only for the friends he made but for the job he now had.

Maxie walked into the Crimson office and smiled.

"I can't believe Kate gave you the job oh my god," the petite blonde said as she threw her

hand around her cousin.

Lucas nodded a grin crossing his lips.

"I mean second assistant to a fashion magazine editor was hardly the dream job I had in mind."

"Hey, it beats being a bartender at Jake's."

Lucas let out a laugh.

"Actually Coleman had nothing, however he did tell me he knew a gut at this chop shop and..."

"And anyways it's going to be great to have you here."

"You're just saying this cause you're my boss."

Maxie never really thought of that as she looked over at her slightly older cousin.

"I'm your boss wow...now I in a million years would have never seen THAT coming."

Lucas playfully punched Maxie as she gave him a serious look.

"I know you're a bit green when it comes to the industry but I promised Robin I'd help with her wedding and I'm going to need you to pick up some of my slack."

Lucas gave her a nod as he decided to change the subject....

"So I went shopping with Spinelli the other day..."

--

Claire and Kyle entered the hospital and Kyle stated his rounds as Claire headed into the room for her therapy.

"Ok, easy now," the physical therapist, a young doctor who was not much older then Claire said as she watched Claire get out of her chair holding crutches, "alright baby steps."

Claire nodded and took one step, two, three.

A smile crossed her face as she continued to walk across the room without falling before taking a seat on the folding chair on the other side.

"How did I do," Claire asked.

The young woman gave her a smile.

"I think you're making better progress then I thought."

"I am," Claire said with a smile on her face.

The woman nodded.

"Be honest with me, do you think I'll be able to dance at a wedding at the end of the month."

"Honestly."

Claire nodded.

"Well..."

Lucas had just finished telling Maxie about how he went to Wyndoms the previous day to help him pick up a suit for the wedding causing Maxie to smile a bit. She had seen Spinelli dressed up in a suit numerous times before but knowing that her cousin was helping him choose one for this occasion made Maxie smile.

It was at that moment that the elevator doors opened and the man in question stepped into the office dressed in a gray t-shirt covered with a light purple and white plaid dress shirt and a pair of nice jeans. She smiled thinking that day in and day out he'd been making strides in his fashion choices.

"Speak of the devil and he appears," Lucas said smiling as he glared at the blonde.

"Lucas was just telling me how you went shopping the other day."

Spinelli smiled.

"That we did."

Lucas stood up.

"Anyways I need to head out; I need to drop these off at the printers."

Maxie nodded as Spinelli took the seat that Lucas vacated.

"So, Maximista, how are the wedding plans coming along."

Her face lit up.

"I'm beginning to think I've found my true calling in wedding planning."

"So then you're too busy to go out tonight."

Maxie got up and kissed his cheek.

"Not a chance."

Claire was in the room being told that she could be walking with the aid of crutches at least short distances as soon as she wanted causing a smile to cross her face.

Meanwhile Milo had entered the hospital and made his way toward the room where Claire was having her therapy. He was supposed to wait for her in the lobby however he couldn't resist surprising her.

Looking into the window he smiled as she was walking around the room with crutches.

"Mr. Giambetti," the young woman at the door said smiling as Claire turned around and was about to stumble however Milo caught her.

"Thank you," she mumbled as he kissed the top of her head and carried her to her chair.

Ok so here is the plan. Next chapter will be an unexpected double date with Spixie and Madine leading to wedding talk and a shocking friendship. I'm at a loss as to what Milo/Claire and Kyle/Lucas will be up to. After that I plan to skip to the pre wedding festivities followed by the actual SCRUBS wedding and an ending to this piece.

My muse never minds ideas so feel free to place them especially when it comes to the double date and the bachelor and baccalaureate parties

Thanks for Reading
