"Why would you help us?" Zeo demanded as Josh wrapped his arm.
"Cause I'm a Power Ranger. My job is to help people." Josh replied.
"Even those you strike down?" Dino asked.
"I'm supposed to help those in need... people who are in danger. When you guys don't need me anymore, then I'll leave."
"How do you know we're even real?" White questioned.
"Does it matter if you're real? Because you're real to me." Josh answered.
"You realize even if you return to your world... you will die Emerald." Green reminded him.
"I'm not afraid to die." Josh told them.
"And you think it makes you strong?" Zeo asked.
Josh shrugged. "Maybe not. But if I'm not willing to accept the possibility of dying... then how could I have the courage to even try?"
"There is a jump." White told him. "it is 20 feet longways... if you jump too short you'll fall into the chasm to your immediate death at the bottom of the pit."
"If you die your mission will fail. TyraTriTera will take over the Earth and breed fear into your planet. There will be no more justice or good." Dino explained.
"So I have to get stronger before I attempt the jump?"
"Survival is in the spirit... the soul." Turbo interjected.
"Once you leave this world you will need help. Only the Power Rangers can hope to save your friends... Your destiny will be met on the day of the final battle... if you can find and locate all the rangers from the past and bring them together... you will fulfill the prophecy and bring an end to evil." Green elaborated.
"All the rangers...?" Josh wondered... how many were there? There had to be dozens...how could he find them all?
"They are a part of your legacy... and in that, they are a part of you." Dino said, interrupting his thoughts.
"Go now... or you will not have enough time..." They all disappeared.
Josh turned and ran... he found the chasm and took it all in... One chance.
"Survival is the spirit." He heard Tommy say again.
"My soul is ready to escape" He decided, preparing to make the run.
"How can you move faster than possible? Fight longer than possible...? Without the most powerful impulse on the spirit?... The fear of death." A voice whispered in his ear.
He thought of his worst memories... Trini dying to save him... his father being attacked... his mother getting hurt trying to protect him... his friends risking their lives to save the world he ran from.
"I fear dying here... while my home burns to the ground... and I'm not there to stop it." Josh told the sky.
Josh sprinted... in 14 steps he reached the edge and lifted off. He pulled his chest up and threw his body weight forward and up... the extra lift gave him some... but not enough distance... he landed on the other edge and felt as the ground crumbled and fell beneath him causing him to tumble down.
He reached his arm as high as possible and found the edge in just enough time.
"AHHHHHHH!" He screamed in pain.
His arm was definitely broken... it felt like it was on fire... he yearned for the end that wouldn't come... the black out to end his days but death came not.
"I'm not gonna make it..." He whispered... "I failed."
"You haven't failed Josh." A voice echoed through the crevice in the Earth. Before him appeared a beam... an inter-galactic being... from a time-warp. "If there is anyone to blame for the state of our world... it would be me."
"But my parents think I'm dead... the rangers think I've abandoned them... and I'm losing this war... letting the whole world down." Josh was downright angry... he knew he was capable of being better... so why wasn't he?
"I should have seen this war coming and prevented it... you inherited my problems and my mistakes." Zordon assured him... "But I believe you are destined to redeem me, and restore peace to the planet."
"I'm not so sure. What if I don't make it back in time?"
"I know you can do it Josh. You have done the impossible before." Zordon reminded him.
Flashes of the battle returned to him... he was outnumbered 100 to 1. All he had was a sword and his 2 fists... up against how many... But he had to survive and get back to Terra Venture... otherwise Zordon would be lost forever.
And he did.
"You've all ready saved a world..." Dimitria reminded him. "And you can save another... as long as you never give up."
He found the strength to pull his left arm up to the edge and get a better grip.
"I won't give up... I won't let go... I can't." Using all his remaining strength he pulled himself over the ledge and finally made it to safety... Feet away from him was the blue zeo crystal.
Without even knowing it he had earned the black crystal... just by helping the Tommy's... and now that Connor was safe and back home... the dino thunder could be reborn.
On Earth
Trent, Ethan, and Dr Oliver felt the familiar boost of power as they looked at their wrists to discover their dino gems... fully restored.
Dino Thunder was back.
