A New Couple and an Old One
Friday, February 11th 2022
Victoire's first day of work at Hogwarts was scheduled to be tomorrow. She would arrive there in the morning, be introduced to the students during breakfast in the Great Hall, and since it was a day that a house Quidditch game was scheduled for, she would be able to spend the few hours that the game would take, to put her clothes and other things away in her rooms in the Hospital Wing. Pending of course, if someone gets hurts during the game. Since it was her last day before her exile to Hogwarts, she had a list of errands to do that needed to be finished before she left.
One of the first things on her list was to find someone to ask to come over to her and Teddy's flat and to check on it every once and a while. They only had wizard mail, so she didn't need someone to collect the mail and send it to her, she just wanted someone to pop in and make sure that everything was as it should be. She decided to ask Molly to do that. She knew that Sandra and Kyle would be busy with their wedding planning, that Ally would be busy with her potions classes, that Dom was busy with her internship with Colton, and she didn't want to ask Lucy in the off chance that she might decide to stop by with Austin in tow. Victoire might have been trying to give her cousin's boyfriend a chance, but there was no way that she was going to allow Austin Pennington to be in her and Teddy's flat when neither of them would be present.
After she spoke with Molly, she went to the Puddlemere United complex. She needed to get the last of her hour sheets signed by Katie since she hadn't been back since she'd been sacked. Katie told her to stop by that day, sweetening the deal by saying that since Puddlemere had had a game the night before, the players weren't expected to be in for a practice, unless they wanted to do an extra workout. Victoire had decided that it would be the best to go; she really didn't want to run into certain people that could be wandering around the complex on any other day. When Victoire arrived, she walked in through the front set of doors and was happy to see that Katie was waiting for her.
"We'll be able to get this over with rather quickly won't we?" Victoire asked the older woman after they exchanged greetings.
"Yes, I'll sign these right now," Katie said taking the time sheets from Victoire, "And since only a handful of players showed up for a workout, Steven and Claudia will have time to sign this too."
"Just you signing it should be enough," Victoire replied not wanting to bother anyone else.
"Nonsense, they were very upset when they learned that you'd no longer be working with them and I'm sure they would love to see you again," Katie replied walking away with Victoire's papers towards the direction of Claudia and Steven's office, she left Victoire no choice but to follow her.
Once they got to the office and examination room Victoire had to wade through roughly ten minutes of greetings and rather chipper small talk (designated by Claudia) before she could explain to them why she'd come.
Steven and Claudia happily agreed to sign her papers and told her if she ever needed a reference of any sort, they'd be glad to write one. They had almost finished signing her time sheets when Xavier came walking through the door.
"Steven, Claudia, have you guys seen my Mu – Vic! What are you doing here?" Xavier asked stopping just past the threshold of the doorway.
"I came to get my time sheets signed," Victoire explained a little timidly.
"Why didn't you tell me you were coming?" Xavier asked a little sourly as he stepped up to her.
Victoire shrugged, "I didn't know if you would be here or not. Besides I have a 'to do' list a kilometre long that has to be completed before the day is out."
"Yes, you start your internship at Hogwarts tomorrow. You know that position is just glorified babysitting, right?" Xavier asked with a playful smirk.
"If working at Hogwarts is glorified babysitting, then what was I doing here? Even the first years are better behaved than Clark and Mark," Victoire countered.
Xavier chuckled, "Touché."
"What do you have left to do on your list Vic?" Katie asked casually.
"Well I've dealt with most of my personal affairs before going away, however even though I'll be working twenty-four/seven at Hogwarts that's no excuse to shirk my maid of honour duties. Now that we've decided on the bridesmaid dresses, I think Sandra's finally ready to go shopping for her wedding dress. I have to go make an appointment for her with some bridal consultant at some high-end wizarding dress boutique that Mrs. Line and Spencer say that she just has to go to," Victoire explained with an indulgent smile.
"I don't envy you that job," Katie laughed.
"Do you need to leave A. S. A. P. to get to this shop then?" Xavier asked.
"Pretty much, why?"
"Nadia, Clark, and Mark all joined me for a workout today and they're still in the gym, I'm sure they'd love to see you and wish you luck."
"Alright, but we have to make it quick," Victoire told Xavier seriously.
The pair said goodbye to Katie, Claudia, and Steven, and began walking down the hall towards the workout room. They travelled in silence, so when they were about to turn a sharp corner they were easily able to hear the manly chuckling and high-pitched giggling sounds that came from the other side. They stopped before turning the corner, shared a puzzled look and then slowly peaked around the corner. What they saw made Victoire feel like she wanted to vomit for the first time since her ulcer had healed.
"What. The. Hell?" Xavier exclaimed in a very loud tone.
His yell caused Giavanna and Chris to break apart from the very close embrace Victoire and Xavier had caught them in. The four started at each other, Victoire and Xavier looked very uncomfortable, while Chris had a red face and Giavanna a devilish smirk.
"What's going on here?" Xavier asked again in a more controlled voice.
"Not that it's any of your business Wood, but Chris and I were just trying to sneak in a little alone time," Giavanna said as she placed her hand on Chris's chest.
"Why would you want some alone time with Chris?" Xavier blurted out. His question didn't come out quite how he had meant it.
Chris glared at Xavier and straightened his shoulders, "Because she's my girlfriend."
"Since when?" Xavier asked keeping up with his line of abrasive questioning.
"Our first date was last Saturday night," Chris explained.
"Well she moved on quick," Victoire muttered in a voice that was much louder than she'd expected.
Both Chris and Giavanna heard her, and the latter sent her a scathing scowl, "You're just bitter that my daddy sacked you before you could make a move on Chris."
Victoire's mouth popped open in astonishment, "Okay, one, if I wanted Chris I've had several opportunities to have him, none of which I've taken. Two, your daddy only fired me because you lied to him about Xavier and I being involved when we weren't."
Giavanna shrugged, "I did what I had to do, there was no way I was going to let you stay around and try to take Chris away from me like you stole Xavier."
"Are you delusional or just stupid? I did not steal Xavier away from you and I have no plans to take Chris away from you either. Oh, and before another twisted idea pops into your mind, Xavier vomited on you because he had the flu; I had nothing to do with it. Although if I'd known that you were such a fruit-loop, I wouldn't have encouraged him to go out with you, and probably would have fed him a Puking Pastille just to stop you from coming up to him every chance you got to pant over him like a love-sick puppy," Victoire said crossing her arms over her chest angrily.
Giavanna's little face pinched and turned red, "What are you doing here anyway? You were sacked after all."
"I just came to get my time sheets signed, don't worry I'm leaving right after and you can get back to sucking face with the second-string seeker," Victoire went to walk away, Xavier quickly following after her, only to turn back and say, "Oh, and Chris even though you're a berk who likes to try and force himself on girls, even after they tell him that they don't like him, I still think you could do better than her."
Victoire turned on her heel and she and Xavier had almost reached the end of the hall when Chris called out from behind them.
"Victoire wait!"
Victoire gritted her teeth, and even though Xavier gave her a look that said 'don't-bother', she turned around and faced him.
"What?"
"Are you pregnant?"
Victoire easily masked her surprised expression at his words and wondered at where that question had come from. She studied Chris with a particular gaze. He looked much more invested in the question then he had any right to be.
She looked him right in the eyes when she answered, "I don't see how that's any of your business."
"Take a seat please Miss, and we'll call you as soon as we can," the woman with the stylish blonde pixie haircut, who was sitting behind the front desk of the bridal salon, told Victoire.
Victoire nodded and took a one of the only empty seats left in the sitting area that the receptionist had gestured to. She sat down in between two women in their early to mid-twenties, the one on her right had beautiful long black hair, and the one on her left had a cute curly auburn bob. They were both dressed in impeccably stylish muggle clothes that made Victoire very glad that she'd decided to wear one of her classier dresses and her nicest pair of high-heeled boots.
Even though the bridal boutique was the place to go to shop for wedding dresses -or at least that's what Mrs. Line said, an opinion that Dom backed up- their reading material in their waiting room was sadly lacking in diversity. It was full of bridal fashion and wedding planning magazines and Victoire sighed before leaning forward and picking one up.
She was saved however, from having to read any of the fluffy articles, by the voice of the black haired woman to her right.
"Is your ring getting resized?"
Victoire looked up at the woman with a perplexed expression, "Excuse me?"
The woman gestured to Victoire's bare left hand, "You don't have an engagement ring on, yet you're in a bridal shop. So, is your ring at a jewellers getting sized?"
"Oh, oh no I'm not engaged," Victoire replied.
"Then what are you doing at a bridal boutique?" the woman asked, it was her turn to be confused.
"I'm maid of honour for my best friend, so I'm here to make an appointment for her to come and pick her wedding dress," Victoire explained.
"Really, your best friend doesn't want to make her own appointment? Most women turn into perfectionists when it comes to their weddings."
"Yes, well Sandra's not like that, it's almost like pulling teeth to get her to go shopping. I don't think her wedding dress will prove to be much of a different experience," Victoire said with a laugh.
The black haired woman looked at Victoire as if she was crazy for suggesting that a woman not be excited to pick out her wedding dress, but thankfully, that was the end of their conversation as the receptionist with the blonde pixie haircut called out the name Lola Crawford. The dark haired woman stood up, and smoothed down the fabric of her royal blue skirt. As she moved her hands, Victoire caught a glance at the gigantic diamond ring on her left hand. The centre diamond was smaller than Sandra's, but it had roughly twenty smaller diamonds in a ring around the main one, making it sparkle spectacularly in the bright lights of the waiting room.
Once she was gone, the woman to Victoire's left let out a low whistle.
"Well she is certainly a piece of work."
Victoire looked at the curly haired redhead beside her and tried to decipher whether she was being waspish, or just laughing at the other woman's ridiculousness. Victoire decided on the latter.
"She certainly is."
The woman laughed and Victoire felt a twinge of recognition even though she couldn't quite work out why. The redhead turned to Victoire and held out her hand for her to shake, she was rather surprised that the woman had held out her left hand, most people held out their right because the majority of people are right handed.
"I seem to remember that you're a lefty," the woman said reading Victoire's confused look.
Her words just confused Victoire even more, "I'm sorry, but have we met before?"
"Yes, a few times but it's fine if you don't remember me. We went to Hogwarts together, although I was two years ahead of you. I'm Charlotte Cole, I was a friend of-"
Victoire cut Charlotte off now remembering the cheerful redhead, although the Charlotte she remembered was a little less curvy and had a lot longer hair, but the colour and texture was still the same, "You were a friend of Tasha Bennett's."
"Yes, and a friend of Teddy's, which also goes hand in hand with hanging around Malcolm Wood as you well know," Charlotte said with a bright smile.
"Yes, I do know that well. Are you still in contact with Tasha?" Victoire asked. She couldn't help but snoop a little. She hadn't heard anything about Tasha Bennett since Teddy cut off all communication with her near the end of her seventh year when she wrote a rather insulting letter to him in which she greatly abused Victoire with her words.
"A little bit, we're not as close of friends as we were at Hogwarts, but who is? Well with exception to you and Sandra Collins as she picked you to be her maid of honour, she is the reason you're here right?" Charlotte asked with a tilt of her head.
Victoire nodded.
"That's sweet, anyway to answer your question, we still keep in touch through letters and the very occasional floo call, but she's been on an archeological dig in Peru for the last six months, or was it Brazil? I'm not sure, but it's one of those places in South America that is very warm, even in the winter months. Anyhoo, I keep her informed of my work with the wedding preparations as a way to guilt her into promising to make it back for my wedding in late August," Charlotte explained with a bright smile that showed off the dimples in her cheeks.
Victoire was taken slightly aback by the wide smile, but she soon remembered that Charlotte Cole was just as bubbly during their time at Hogwarts together as she was being right now, during their five-minute conversation.
"You can't be suggesting that she'd purposely miss your wedding, could you?" Victoire asked shocked that anyone who was lucky enough to be considered a friend to such a warm person could think of not attending her wedding. Victoire was growing a soft spot for the auburn haired woman already and she usually didn't like people who were too bubbly.
"No I don't think she would purposely skive off my wedding, but I do know how lost she can get in her work. Particularly if they're having a difficult time getting the job done, she's a very determined person," Charlotte explained.
"I do believe I remember that of her," Victoire said quietly, "But back to you, so you're getting married in August?"
Charlotte's eyes brightened again, "Oh yes! I've been planning it for at least a year too! I originally wanted it to be here in England, but halfway through we decided to switch it to Spain which is why it took so long to plan."
"In Spain?" Victoire asked interestedly.
"Yes, my fiancée's from there. His name is Dimas Cabrera. I work for the Ministry's Department of International Co-operation and was stationed in Galicia three years ago, that's where we met. He's a wizard too, half-blood, not that that really matters. We became engaged when my time in Spain was drawing to an end and I've been busy traveling back and forth between here and there ever since to plan the wedding. Di , that's my nickname for him, is a business man and he has to pretty much stay there. We haven't decided where we'll settle down once the wedding is over, but the mystery of the unknown leaves a fun little intrigue, doesn't it?"
Victoire nodded her head even though she wasn't sure if she agreed with Charlotte's assessment or not.
"So are you here to try on wedding gowns today or . . .?" Victoire asked.
"Oh no, I'm here to make an appointment to try on wedding gowns like you are. I wouldn't be able to get away just myself to try dresses on, I'd have to bring at least a dozen other people with me because everyone I know is so darn opinionated," Charlotte said with a self-mocking air.
"I would hope that you'd at least bring your maid of honour," Victoire replied in a joking tone.
The next look that came upon Charlotte's face was priceless, "Believe me, if there were any way that I could go shopping for my wedding dress, without bringing along my maid of honour, I would."
"Why is that?"
"Because she's a big pain in the arse. Oh dear, that was rather mean. She's not a horrible person or anything, but I only picked her because she's Di's sister. She's five years older than Di and I and I think she's a little jealous that her little brother is getting married before she is. She's usually a lovely person, and I'm sure she's trying her best, but she has all of these ideas for how my Spanish wedding should go, but I don't want a fully Spanish wedding, I want an English and Spanish wedding," Charlotte complained.
"I understand. Sandra's sister is a little peeved that I'm her maid of honour and not her, but as far as practicality goes, I'm a little older than her and I have a better idea of what's expected at a wedding in the wizarding world," Victoire shared.
"Oh I've been talking all about me this past little while. So you're here to make an appointment for Sandra Collins?" Charlotte asked in a genuinely interested tone as she turned the conversation into a new direction.
"Yes, as I mentioned before, she's not the biggest fan of shopping."
"Let me guess, she's engaged to Kyle Line?"
"Yes she is," Victoire replied in a tone that said she was impressed with Charlotte's memory.
Charlotte clapped her hands together, "That's so wonderful! I'm glad for them; they're one of those couples that are so perfect for each other that you just hope that they last. Like you and Teddy."
Victoire's eyes widened in surprise at the turn the conversation took, "Pardon me?"
"Oh Godric Gryffindor I've gone and made myself sound like a bit of a stalker now haven't I?" Charlotte asked worriedly, "I don't want to sound like a creep, but I kinda heard through the grapevine a few years ago about you and Teddy."
"Is this grapevine named Tasha?" Victoire asked shrewdly.
Charlotte looked a little ashamed, "Yes, however I want you to know that while she was the one to first tell me about your relationship with Teddy, I do not agree with her opinions on the matter. I actually think that you two are rather perfect for each other and that anyone who didn't see it coming was a little dense. And as I said before, you two have what it takes to go the distance."
"Um, thanks but I think you're a little ahead of yourself, we're not even engaged yet."
Charlotte waved off Victoire's comment, "Psh, I bet you'll have a ring on your finger before Di and I say our 'I dos'."
Victoire laughed a little at Charlotte's insistence, "And how much time exactly does Teddy have to propose before you and Dimas say your 'I dos'?"
"T-minus two-hundred and fourteen days and counting," Charlotte said readily.
Victoire just shook her with a smile on her face.
"Charlotte Cole!" The receptionist called.
Charlotte stood up and gave Victoire a smile and a wink before walking over to the desk.
Victoire completed her errand at the bridal shop shortly after Charlotte had left, and mentally went down the items of her 'to do' list. She had finished pretty much all of them, so she decided to apparate over to Malcolm's house and have one last chat with him before he left on his next writing trip for work, which would begin on Sunday.
When she landed on his doorstep, she debated over whether she should ring the doorbell, or go right in. Usually she would just walk into his house, but since he and Nadia had started whatever it is they were doing, she had become more leery at the thought of just walking into his home unannounced. In the end, she decided that she would play it safe and knock on the door. Even though she'd seen Nadia briefly that morning when she went to go say goodbye to her and Clark and Mark, she wasn't sure how long the chaser had been planning on staying at the complex and working out, especially since the day was well into the afternoon by now.
Malcolm answered the door with a bright, if not hurried smile after Victoire knocked and her cheerily ushered her inside. She followed him into the living room and noticed that he was in the middle of packing his things for his work trip, that he found out earlier in the week he was assigned to go on.
"So where are you going this time?" Victoire asked sitting herself down on one of the only available spaces left on the couch. In Malcolm's line of work, it was very common for him to get an assignment one day, and then expected to be off and already working on it the next, even if the stay was for a long amount of time.
"France," Malcolm answered as he shuffled through some field textbooks.
Victoire tilted her head to the side in interest, "Really? Well that's rather close, usually you prefer to take assignments that are farther away and in places you haven't visited before."
Malcolm shrugged, "I've been working with the magazine that wants me to do the piece for a while now. I think I've earned a few opportunities to pick an assignment close to home."
"Of course," Victoire answered a little surprised at his animated response, "So how long are you going for this time?"
"Three, maybe four weeks, depending on how long it takes to get the 'gathering information' step done."
"Does that count how long it will take you to write the article?" Victoire asked knowing anywhere from one to two weeks could be added on for that certain creative process.
"Um, no," Malcolm said as he absentmindedly played with the string on his magical field binoculars, "I'm planning on coming back home to write the article."
Victoire failed at trying not to look surprised, usually Malcolm stayed in whatever place he was in to write the article, he hardly ever came home first, "Well, I guess France is close enough that it'd be rather easy to pop back home."
"That's what I figured," Malcolm said in a distracted tone.
They were quiet for a few moments before Victoire spoke again, "Malcolm does this sudden change in your writing M. O. have anything to do with whatever is going on between you and Nadia?"
Malcolm bit his lip, "Maybe . . ."
Victoire raised an eyebrow.
"Yes, okay. Is that what you want to hear?" Malcolm asked as he grabbed a handful of his hair, "I'm not entirely sure what's going on between Nadia and me either but I do know that going away for a month to some country on the other side of the world probably wouldn't be good for whatever we are doing."
Victoire held her hands up, "Hey, hey, hey. I'm not trying to criticize you of anything, heck I agree with you, I just wanted to hear what your thoughts on the matter were."
"We're not serious or anything, or at least I don't think we are, it's always so hard to tell with Nadia."
"Well here's a novel idea, why don't you ask her?"
Malcolm looked at Victoire as if she'd grown two heads, "Ask her? I can't do that! What if she says 'no-we're-not-serious, in-fact-I'm-done-with-you-right-now'?"
Victoire sighed, "Do you really want to leave the country, even if it is just to go to France, without determining what exactly is going on between you?"
"Yes. No. I don't know," Malcolm said dejectedly, "I don't want to think of this right now, talk about something that will distract me."
Victoire shot him a worried look. She was almost certain that avoiding the subject wouldn't help him, but she didn't want to push him into something he wasn't ready to face yet, so she did as he asked and started to ramble on about the first thing that came to her mind.
"I spent my day doing errands and I had to go to this really high class bridal boutique and wait for almost an hour before I could make an appointment for Sandra to come in in a few weeks and try on wedding dresses with one of their bridal consultants. The waiting room was a nightmare; it was all white and looked like a closet full of wedding dresses had exploded, there was lace, pearls, sequins, tulle, satin, and silk everywhere in the decorations."
Malcolm had let go of his hair and was starting to go back to organizing his suitcases, "That sounds horrible, how ever did you survive the hour in the waiting room?"
"I had a small conversation with some woman with black hair that lost interest with me when she found out that I wasn't a bride, just a lowly maid of honour. However, after she left I did have a lovely conversation with another woman who was there to make an appointment to try on wedding dresses. Do you remember a girl in your year from Hogwarts named Charlotte Cole?" Victoire asked.
Malcolm froze, "Long curly red hair, was a Ravenclaw, and was good friends with Tasha Bennett?"
"Yes that's her, although her hair's much shorter now. She said she was friends with you and Teddy too. Or, well she said she was friends with Teddy and that she hung out around you by default," Victoire said in a teasing tone.
Malcolm didn't seem to catch it, and still looked rather surprised, "What was Charlotte doing there?"
Victoire noted that he seemed very interested in hearing about her, "She's getting married at the end of August and was making an appointment to try dresses on."
Malcolm's face seemed to relax a little, "She's getting married? To whom?"
His change in posture just made Victoire more suspicious, "To some bloke she met in Spain, that's where she said there wedding was going to be. Why are you so surprised to hear about her getting married?"
"I'm not surprised to hear that she's getting married," Malcolm said slowly, "I'm just surprised that you had such a personal conversation with her."
Victoire shrugged, "We were at a bridal boutique, what else would we talk about? She told me a little bit about her wedding, I mentioned that I was there to make an appointment for Sandra. She asked me if Sandra was marrying Kyle, I told her 'yes'. She told me that she always thought that they were a great couple that would last a long time, and then she said that she'd heard that Teddy and I were together and said the same thing about us."
Malcolm dropped a heavy textbook and it was only a few millimetres shy of hitting his foot, he didn't seem to notice, "She said that about you and Teddy?"
"Yes, again you seem really surprised."
"I'm not surprised!"
"Yes you are; you've been paying very close attention to this entire conversation when you would usually care less about what I had to say about an old schoolmate I ran into. Why are you so interested in hearing about Charlotte Cole?" Victoire asked as she placed her hands determinately on her hips.
"I told you I'm not," Malcolm repeated before turning his back on Victoire.
"Yes you are! Is there something about her I should know?" Victoire asked shrewdly.
Malcolm spun back around, "No!"
"Oh there so is," Victoire said pointing at Malcolm, "So what is it? Are you going to tell me or do I have to guess?"
"I told you there's noth-"
"Oh my Merlin she's one of your ex-girlfriends isn't she?" Victoire asked excitedly.
"Vic, have I ever told you the story behind why I call you Freckles?"
Victoire stopped and gave Malcolm a penetrating look. The story behind her nickname was one of Malcolm's best kept secrets, and if he was using it in an attempt to distract her from asking about Charlotte then what ever he had to say about Charlotte had to be a juicer tidbit of information than he was letting on.
"She was one of your girlfriends wasn't she?!" Victoire said ignoring Malcolm's attempt to distract her.
"No-" Malcolm started but Victoire cut him off.
"Seriously Malcolm just tell me, you know if you don't I'll just write Teddy and ask him to tell me what he knows about Charlotte Cole," she reasoned.
Malcolm's face went white, "No, whatever you do, don't write to Teddy about Charlotte Cole."
Victoire crossed her arms in front of her chest, "You totally used to date her."
"No," Malcolm said steadily, "I never dated Charlotte Cole."
Victoire felt her face slipping into a frown, "But someone did?"
Malcolm looked like he wanted to hit his head against the wall, "It's really not important."
"Malcolm Fearghas Wood, tell me what you know!"
"It was a while ago."
"Exactly how long ago was this 'it'?"
"Our seventh year."
"And who exactly is this 'our'?"
"Teddy and me."
"You told me you never dated her," Victoire reminded him.
"I did say that, and it's true, I never dated Charlotte Cole."
A/N: Yeah, so I know you guys don't like cliffies but I had to end it there sorry ;)
Anyhoo, I'd like to know what your thoughts are on this chapter, and if you guys have any questions about it or the story, please don't hesitate to ask.
Next Update: Well, I've just started back up into my third year at university, so it might be a little longer than I'd like to update. I'm hoping to update next week, however it might take as long as two.
On That Note: I've been having a bit of a difficult time writing the chapters that come after the next two of this story and I figured that my asking you to answer a question for me might help me get back to writing so here it is:
Since Vic is going back to Hogwarts I would like to write the kids who are still there into the story, and not just in passing.
So, would it be okay if I write more plot lines for the Weasley/Potters who are still at school?
And if so, who particularly would you guys like to see?
Next Chapter: Victoire goes to Hogwarts and we get to see Louis, Cecilia, James, Freddie, and a little Lily and Baxter, along with meeting some of their friends. Think of next chapter as a preview of how involved the kids may get into the story.
Teaser for Next Chap:
"Did you even hear what I said James?" Freddie asked his best mate and cousin.
"Yeah that sounds fine," James answered still looking down the table and not at his teammates or breakfast companions.
Freddie sighed before picking up his now marmalade covered piece of toast and slapping the side of James's face with it.
Being attacked by a preserve encrusted breakfast food seemed to finally get James's attention. He turned to face Freddie with an extremely perplexed look on his face, "What the Hades was that for?"
Thanks to everyone who has followed, favourited, read, and especially reviewed!

Break This Spell626: It wasn't Chris talking to Ally but I'd like to think that this is just as good ;)
brilliant incandescence: (About the Jilly and Prof Cooke thing) normally I would just say something along the lines of wait and see, but it's not going to ruin my plot if I tell you that yes, they are still together and we'll see ab it of them together later on.
no cure for crazy: What do you think of Chris's girlfriend?
maxie210: Why thank you I will have a cookie (Note: The leftovers of a pack of Oreos are sitting next to me write now on my desk and I'm actually eating one).
WizardDemonHunter: If you are referring to who's on the Gryffindor quiddich team, we will find out next chapter :)
Manydifferentfandoms: D'aww, you're welcome!
Guest(1): I haven't yet mentioned who O. A. R. number one is, but we will find out before the story's over.
clessard: Because cliff hangers are fun! *Looks around* Or is it just me?
zvc56: You know me, when I write plot I go big or go home.
jeremiah123: Then it was fresh in your mind and you were one of the people who knew what I was talking about without having to look it up or take a refresher.
Guest(2): I'm sorry if you thought my comments from last chapter to be rude, as it is with the internet and writing, it's hard to understand a person's inflection with the written word. I was not trying to be rude or passive aggressive or waspish in any way. I honestly meant what I said about if you're not enjoying the story than you can stop reading it. I'd hate to think that someone is continuing to read something that they don't like or enjoy just because they feel an obligation or a duty to because they've already started it, or because they read the first story. So seriously, if you don't like it I don't want you to waste your time on it, I'd rather you be doing something that you like to do instead of apathetically sitting and reading a story that you don't like because you may feel obligated to.
