Chapter 23: Battle for the 8th badge

Clay and the group had just arrived in Greenwood City. They first went to pokemon center to get there pokemon healed, before heading off to the gym. Outside the gym Clay and the group were about to go inside.

Lyra: so were finally here.

Clay: I just need one more badge, so I can compete in the Retco Leauge.

Erwin: Brent is not going to be easy, his grass pokemon are pretty tough.

Clay: I'm ready for him.

Buizel: bui! (who was feeling pumped about the battle.)

Lyra: lets go inside.

The group went inside and were greeted by man named Brent. He was wearing a dark green shirt, with blue jeans, and had a black baseball cap on.

Brent: Welcome to the Greenwood City gym. Im Brent the gym leader. So which one of you three wants to challenge me for the Leaf Badge.

Clay: I will, I just need one more badge So I can enter the Retco League.

Brent: your almost there kid, but you will need to beat me!

Clay: your on!

Brent: okay, follow me guys.

Clay and the group soon followed Brent.

On the battlefield, Clay was on one side with Buizel, Brent was on the other side, The Referee was on the sidelines getting ready to begin the match, and Erwin and Lyra were in the bleachers getting to watch Clay's battle.

Referee: Alright this is going to be a 3 on 3 match, only the challenger can switch pokemon. Let the match begin.

Brent: go Oddish! (out came Oddish)

Clay: go Vulpix! (out came Vulpix)

Brent: Oddish use hidden power.

Clay: Vulpix use quick attack.

Both pokemon did not do much damage from there attacks.

Clay: alright Vulpix use flamethrower!

Brent: Oddish use sludgebomb!

Oddish hit Vulpix with its attack which did some damage, and also got poisned, but Vulpix's flamethrower was strong enough to knock it out.

Referee: Oddish is no longer able to battle, Vulpix wins.

Clay: good job Vulpix!

Vulpix: vul! (cry was a little weak from being poisned, but happy it won the battle)

Clay: Vulpix you don't look so good, Im calling you back. (Clay returned Vulpix back to its pokeball)

Brent: Oddish return, you did good buddy. Now its time for my next pokemon, go Tropius! (out came Tropius.)

Clay: alright Buizel your up. (Buizel got into the battlefield getting ready to battle)

Clay: Buizel use sonic boom!

Brent: Tropius use air slash!

Both pokemon took some damage from each other attacks.

Clay: Buizel use Ice punch!

Brent: quick dodge it, then use magical leaf!

Tropius dodged Buizel's attack, but hit it with a powerful attack, which did a lot of damage to Buizel.

Clay: Buizel are you okay?

Buizel: bui (gave clay a thumbs up, but was pretty worn out.)

Brent: okay Tropius finish this with energyball!

Buizel did not have a chance to move, and got knocked out by Tropius.

Referee: Buizel can no longer battle, Tropius wins.

Clay: Buizel! ( walked over to his pokemon.)

Clay: Buizel are you okay?

Buizel: bui!

Clay: you take a nice rest.

Clay grabbed Buizel, and walked over to the bleachers, so Erwin and Lyra can take of Buizel. Clay walked back to the battlefield and called out his next pokemon.

Clay: Grimer I choose you! ( out came Grimer)

Grimer: grimer! ( who turned around and was happy to see Clay)

Clay: I'm happy to see you too Grimer, but right now we need to focus on the battle.

Grimer turned around, and was ready for battle.

Brent: alright Tropius use air slash!

Clay: dodge it Grimer, then use sludge!

Grimer dodged Tropius, and hit with a powerful sludge that knocked out Tropius.

Brent: Tropius no!

Referee: Tropius is unable to battle, Grimer wins!

Brent: good job Tropius. (returned to its pokeball)

Brent then faced Clay.

Brent: It's been a while since I had a battle like this, but your beating my next pokemon. Go Torterra! (out came Torterra)

Clay: Grimer use bite!

Brent: Torterra use Razorleaf!

Torterra did not do much damage, but Grimer did some damage.

Brent: alright lets finish this with earthquake!

Clay: Grime quick use protect!

Grimer's attack failed, and got hit with a powerful earthquake that knocked it out.

Referee: Grimer is no longer able to battle, Torterra wins.

Clay: good job Grimer. (returned it to its pokeball) looks I got only 1 option left, go Vulpix. (out came Vulpix)

Clay: Vulpix lets end this quick, use flamethrower!

Brent: Torterra use bite.

Vulpix dodged Torterra's attack, but hit it with a strong flamethrower.

Brent:Torterra use earthquake!

Clay: Vulpix dodge it, then use fire spin!

Vulpix dodged another attack from Torterra, and knocked it out with it fire spin.

Brent: Torterra no!

Referee: Torterra is unable to battle, Vulpix wins. The victor goes to Clay!

Clay: alright vulpix!

Brent: good job Torterra. (returning to its pokeball)

Brent walked over to Clay.

Brent: nice battle Clay, you fought hard and you won. Here's the Leaf badge.

Clay: sweet now I got all 8 badges, I can now compete in the Retco League.

Erwin, Lyra, and Buizel walked over to where Clay was at.

Erwin: awesome job Clay.

Lyra: now you can compete in Retco League.

Buizl: bui! (who was so happy for Clay)

Clay: where is the Retco League? ( who was unsure where its at.)

Lyra: I'm sure your Father knows wheres it at.

Erwin: we can also ask Professor Sketchit.

Clay: thats true, but were far away from Fargo town.

Brent: actucally there's a train station here that can take you to Vector City.

Lyra: that will help us out, plus thats not far from Fargo Town.

Clay: yeah your right.

Erwin: lets go to the pokemon center first, before we go to the train station.

Clay: good Idea.

Clay and the group soon left gym and headed off to the pokemon center. After they got there pokemon healed, they went to the train station and were off to Vector City.
