The sun still shone ever brightly as the four padded through the jungle, listening to the birds chirp away.
"You call this hunting?" Desta asked sourly.
"No, we and rest of society call it walking, but you can call it what you want" retorted Akua.
"Guys, can we keep it together for just a little while" Maliki mewed quietly.
Akua nodded and Desta looked away.
Imarie smiled. "Maliki's right, normally I'd expect a full scale war by now"
Akua giggled, Maliki grinned and even Desta looked mildly amused.
"So, where we going then Imarie?" Desta asked, a lighter tone in her voice.
"I thought about this pond of water, its quite deep, so I don't think It'll have dried up" he replied, looking round at Maliki and Akua.
Akua nodded gratefully.
"That sounds grate, you don't know how enjoining it is to have a black pelt in this weather!" she complained as they made their way into a sheltered clearing.
Maliki smiled inwardly. The group was feeling light hearted and happier now, it was nice, of the four to be together without arguing for once.
"Good thing my pelt is pale dusty coloured" Desta mewed, brushing her long tail over her ears as if to admire her pale spotted fur.
"Just my luck that Nanda had black fur in summer, but its glossy, that means it absorbs heat even more" she moaned.
Imarie grinned and licked his paw pad.
"Well at least you look beautifle, even if your furs not much use in the sun" he said, smiling at her.
Maliki heard Akua purring , and she licked her brothers cheek in thanks.
As they walked on the ground began to dip into a slope.
"Err Imaire is this the right way?" Desta pulled the group to a stop. They all looked expectantly at Imarie.
He looked a little sheepish, but in a way still didn't loose his cool.
"I don't think so..we might have made a wrong turn"
Desta sighed in exasperation. Then she lifted her shell pink nose and sniffed.
"What is it?" asked Akua curiously.
Desta sniffed again.
"Gorilla, and strong, I think we're at their border" she reported.
"Oh well done Imarie" Akua butted her brother.
Maliki sharply drew in breath. The gorilla border!
"We must have taken a wrong turn and are on the other side of the territory, right by their border" Maliki explained.
Imarie nodded.
"But hey, what's down that slope" Maliki placed her paw down over the border.
Desta flinched.
"Maliki, your going over the border"
"Yeah, the gorillas'll probably eat you if they find you, especially as you killed one of them!" Akua called after her.
Maliki ignored them and started to make her way down the slope, carefully placing her paws and she sent pebbles flying.
"I don't care what they do" she called back.
"Maliki!" Imarie warned her.
"Fine" he turned back to his sisters. "I'm going in after her"
"What?!" squeaked Desta. "Its dangerous, plus they'll smell us on their border"
"Gorillas can't smell anywhere near as well as we can" Imarie explained, then he crossed the border.
Akua and Desta waited at the top of the slope anxiously. Well, Desta justd paced and Akua closed her eyes in pleasure at the suns warmth as it sank into her pelt, of cores still worried.
Then a call echoed off the slope walls.
"Come on down, its beautifle!" Akua recognised Maliki's voice.
The two sisters rather awkwardly clawed their way down, and bounced up in delight.
