Unfortunately, I didn't get to change and update the earlier chapters... I did one and that was chapter 23 I believe... I thought about finishing them all before posting this but that would have taken way too long and I did promise this chapter would be posted soon... So... Yeah here it is :) Thanks again for reading, oh and before I forget, Defensivecat576 also has a wonderful rendition of Cheetah so if you all get tired of sitting around and waiting for me to update, go check it out. It too is called cheetah. Ok that's it enjoy :)

Barbara ducked just in time as a batarang went flying over her head. Looking up, she realized it was the Joker who had thrown it... so that meant...

"You've managed to unlock the belt did you?" she asked Luthor hesitantly all the while trying to step away from the clown prince of crime as he suddenly eyed her strangely before trying to approach her.

"Yes... and if I can find that one thing I need... Ahh... There you are..." Luthor cooed, pulling something out of the belt's pockets, showing it to both her and the Joker who frowned upon seeing the rather un impressing piece of machinery.

"And what is that?" he asked dryly before going back to staring at Barbara, much to her discomfort.

"THAT is what will give us entry to the justice league's watch tower..." Luthor smiled before characteristically going back to scowling and barking.

"Cheetah! Get Sapphire, Shade and Grundy... And be quick!"

Relived to get away from the room and not to mention the Joker, Barbara straightened up and gladly went to do as she was told only to yelp and freeze when the joker forcefully grabbed her arm and pinned her to the wall.

Barbara felt alarm bells go off in her head as the joker leaned his grotesque face closer to her own.

"Let me go..." she growled, baring her teeth at him only to stop when he smiled and slammed her again.

"I can smell him on you..." he cooed causing her to freeze completely and stare at him in fear. Was it possible... Did he know? No... It wasn't possible... How could he?

"I... I don't know what you're talking about..."

"Oh yes you do... The cat and the bat... Funny... I'd always thought it'd be the other one... Well no matter..." and Barbara quickly wrenched herself from his grip as he suddenly whipped a knife out, murder within his eyes.

"You're crazy..." she hissed backing away from him and into the elevator, rapidly pressing the button to shut the damn doors and it managed to do so just in time as the joker leaned forward to grab her...

"You may have the others fooled kitty... But remember... CURIOUSTY KILLED THE CAT!" And the lift merciful went down along with his spiral of laughter. Barbara slunk down against the wall in relief... That had been terrifying beyond measure...

"Have to be more careful..." she thought, still trying to calm herself from that encounter... Although she couldn't help but notice how her fur was bristling with uneasiness... Barbara sighed, and then had the tremendous urge to hit something... Just like life to immediately turn sour for her once it starts getting better... God... she should have just tore Joker's throat out when she had the chance. It would have been simple, precise... and not to mention permanent... Barbara blinked before shaking her head... No... She was better than this... She's not a savage animal... She' not...

"Please... Please just hold on..." she begged herself as the elevator continued to travel down.

It took five minutes for Barbara to gather Sapphire and Grundy before the three of them headed back to the projection room; ready for whatever Luthor wanted them to do... Barbara made sure to keep a weary distance from the clown prince this time as she took a seat although surprisingly, he made no move against her... Only smiling cheerfully when she eyed him cautiously... Barbara growled low in her throat before turning her full attention to Luthor. If she and batman planned to get out this alive... She had better listen and know Luthor's plan through and through to know how to get out of this mess.

"So the gang's altogether..." Luthor growled sarcastically as he paced to the front. Glaring at them with a sort of excited glee Barbara had never seen him exhibit before.

"So... while all of you were out lazing about... I finally managed to obtain this..." Luthor declared before proudly holding up the device from earlier...

"And what is that?" Sapphire interrupted, her tone bored. Luthor glared at her before continuing.

"The key to our success... You see, this little piece of machinery... Is what we need to access the justice league watchtower... Sapphire! Grundy! I want you to go to up there and leave them a little gift."

"What kind of gift?" Grundy bellowed stupidly.

"One that would blow them away..." Luthor smiled sinisterly before pulling out a suitcase.

"You see, Humanite and I developed a portable... but very powerful bomb and I believe the watch tower is an appropriate place to put it..."

"How... How powerful?" Barbara asked hesitantly.

"Powerful enough to reduce them into cosmic dust... and all you two have to do is put it there... So don't fail me..." Luthor snarled in warning before passing the suitcase to Star Sapphire and Grundy who immediately went off to do as they were told.

"Perfect... now all we need is Cheetah to... Cheetah? WHERE IS SHE?"

Outside, Barbara tapped her foot impatiently as the elevator lowered down at its snail's pace. This is bad... Very bad... She had expected Luthor's plan of breaking into the league tower was to steal information... Or blackmail... But to blow the entire thing up... That was insane... she had to warn batman...

"Come on... Come on!" she begged. Finally, the doors swung open and Barbara rushed out.

"Batman I know what Luthor is planning! He's trying to..." Barbara stopped when she realized her mistake. Eyeing the Ultrahumanite in fear as he menacingly approached her...

Hope you all enjoyed that and remember... Reviews means guaranteed continuation...
