Fiuh…I was enjoy making this story until I recognize that there are only two more chapter and this story will reaches its end.
It's been about 8 months since I posted this story and now it's has more than twenty followers and reviews.

Sacrifice
A black limousine arrives at Cross Acedemy, bring the injured Kaito, the rest of hunters and the purebloods as well. Cross Kaien welcomed them with worry face especially when he saw Kaito injured badly.
Zero report the recent situation to Kaien and bring Kaito inside quickly. On the other hands, to make sure that there will be nothing will endanger the new parent, Kaien decided to imprison Kuran Kaname in the dungeon underground the association building.

Few Days Later
Hikari visits the dungeon where Kaname is being imprisoned again. She had visited the dungeon many times since few hours ago. Hikari sits in the front of dungeon and Kaname sits by her side with the dungeon's cage place them apart.
"The preparations of the furnace are nearly complete…" Hikari said.
"I know…" Kaname replied.
They hold each other's hands through the cage. Kaname can see the sadness within Hikari's eyes. Those eyes usually though and hard like steel, but now it looks as fragile as every woman has.
"We've closed the campus, so we can fight until the end," Hikari said. "Don't worry, I will protect you,"
"I'm sorry…" Kaname said with smile on his face.
Hikari's eyes widened in surprise when she heard those words came out of Kaname's mouth. Those words is a usual words and it's not weird to say but…the way he use when he say it…as if someone who loss its passion.
Hikari holds his hands tighter…
"You're sister are arguing with Kaien up there," Hikari said. "She still naïve as usual; belief that we will gain something without sacrifice,"
"Is that so…?"
"That's your fault. You never let her see the real world. You always protect her within you arms," Hikari said.
"I guess you're right…"
"Sometimes…those naïve being…is bright existence in our eyes, isn't it?" Hikari asked. "But really…you're sister is really selfish yet…she is so kind. What a unique pureblood…"
Kaname replies those hurting words with one smile.
"Kana-chan, may I ask something?"
Kaname doesn't seem to be objected to be called by 'Kana-chan' after long time Hikari hadn't called him so.
"What is it?"
"What did you ask Isaya-san to do at the masquerade?" Hikari asked.
Kaname doesn't answer.
"Did you ask him to make Yuuki a human?" Hikari asked.
"I think you have to meet Ichijou and your adoptive father," Kaname suggested instead of answer Hikari's question.
Hikari know that Kaname change the topic on purpose. That means she is right; Kaname asked Isaya-san to sacrifice himself in order to make Yuuki a human. Hikari knows she would get this answer. Kaname she knows always doing something like this.
'If you turn Yuuki into a human, Yuuki will no longer remember anything about you,' Hikari thought. 'Kaname, you're really…'
Hikari releases her hand of Kaname and stands up, "I guess you're right, since Yuuki is on her way here…"
In a flash of an eye, Hikari leaves the dungeon, leaves Kaname alone.

The first man she faces after she leaves the dungeon is the angry face of Arashi. That man looks upset wherever he seems.
"What are you doing down there?" he asked.
"I was visiting him," Hikari answered.
"That damns Kuran…" he said in angry tone. "…seriously, what is he for you, exactly? Why you're so care about him?"
Hikari smiled faintly, "Well, I don't know what kind of relationship we both have, but basically…we're friends or something like that,"
Arashi frowns, that means he totally disbelief of what his daughter just said.
"You hate him…?" she asked.
"Why I have to hate something which will be our weapons soon?" he replied. "I just…perplex because you're so care about certain vampires, you usually hate those things,"
Hikari smiled, "Sou ka? I'm glad to hear that,"
Then Hikari walks away, pass him and leaves him behind, but before she can go far away,
"You will protect him until the end, won't you?" he asked and stopped Hikari at her place. "Since you've guarantee him with your own life?"
"Of course…I will protect him with my own live until the very end," Hikari said firmly, sounds merciless. "I won't let those dirty purebloods lay a finger on him,"
Arashi can sense when Hikari's presence is gone. That hunter sighed.
"Hikari, is he…that important to you?" he murmured. "The way you said it…he is not only your friend, Hikari…it's more than it…"

The following Night
Everything is going better in Association and the preparation of the furnace is complete. It's just the matter of time. Hikari is sitting on her bed in her room alone. Ares is laid by her side. Hikari touches her gun and sense that her gun is getting weaker and weaker each day since the parent's gone. That's the signal for the hunter to do the furnace as soon as possible before they totally become harmless human.
Tonight is the same calm night as yesterday, but Hikari feels this calmness would end up soon.
'Those purebloods won't silently keep watching. As long as Kuran Kaname is still alive, they will do whatever to prevent the born of the parent,' she thought. 'The probability of us for being attacked is more than enough,'
Suddenly Hikari senses another presence comes to Association.
"Isaya-san is coming…" she murmured.
Hikari quickly disappear from her room.

At The Dungeon
Shoutou Isaya has come to Association to fulfil his promise to Kaname to make Yuuki become a human. Hikari watches everything and heard everything within the shadows.
"That's something for me to decide, Kaname!" Yuuki snapped angrily to Kaname who still in his prison as Isaya drag Yuuki along with her to somewhere she doesn't know.
After Isaya, Yuuki, and Zero is gone, Hikari comes out of the shadows and shows himself in front of Kaname.
"Isn't it a little bit cruel?" she asked to Kaname.
"Yes, you're right," Kaname admitted.
"After Yuuki had turned into a human, she won't remember anything about you, will she?" she asked.
"I guess so…" he answered.
Hikari doesn't talk for a while…
"Everything about you will be burn into ashes soon and disappear forever," Hikari said later. "Even your sister won't remember anything about you after this,"
When Hikari turns her gaze to Kaname, that pureblood shatters his entire body into hundreds of bats and come out of his prison. In a flash, Kaname has stood right before her eyes. They're gazing each other in silence; don't know each other's mind or the meaning of each other's eyes.
Hikari doesn't surprise at all. She gazes Kaname directly.
"Kaname, if we hadn't met that time…if I didn't come to your life…" Hikari said.
Without warning, Kaname places a gentle kiss on her forehead. Hikari surprised but she become more surprise when Kaname drag himself closer to her until their forehead meet each other. He holds her face gently while their eyes meet each other. Hikari can feel Kaname's breath right on her face. No distance between them now.
Hikari can see Kaname's eyes clearly but nothing she can see in the depth of those eyes.
"Kaname…?" Hikari asked, confused.
"Don't say as if everything was a mistake," he said gently. "I'm glad I disobeyed Ichijou's warning that time, I'm glad I decided to know more about you, I'm glad I fall for you,"
Hikari surprised, "Kaname…"
"I'm glad I could meet in you in this second chance of my life. After Rido awakened me, I thought it will be one more endless meaningless journey, but with you and the others…I found something in this life," Kaname explained.
Hikari is crying now. Her tears burst from her eyes.
"You're the first woman who punched my head with watering can, you're the first woman who could be angry with me and didn't hesitate to show it up. You always show your true emotion; no lies on your face. That makes you became radiance existence in my life, Hikari and I like it all. I like everything about you," he told her.
"Hikari…thanks for everything, thanks for coming into my life…" he whispered and smiled.
Hikari's eyes opened widely in surprised. It is the first time Kaname smiles for her. It is the first time Kaname shows her smile in front of her and it is the most charming smile she ever seen.
"…promise me you would smile for me someday, got it, Kana-chan?"
Hikari reminded of the promise she gave to Kaname eleven years ago.
"You fulfil your promise…" Hikari said. "…but why at a time like this…?"
'Kaname…you said those things as if…it is farewell…' she thought in sadden.
Suddenly Hikari feels huge aura approach and it's many…
Kaname pull himself away from Hikari. They both become serious now.
"The purebloods…we're being attacked," Hikari murmured.
"I know you can hear me, Kuran Kaname!" Hikari heard Zero's loud voice calling from outside.
"Kiryuu-kun…" she murmured. "He had gotten his memories back, I see…"
'Then Yuuki is still…' Hikari thought.
Zero keep calling Kaname with very loud voice of him.
"He is looking for you," she said.
"Come and protect this academy with me!" Kiryuu Zero said.
Then without saying anything, Kaname shatters his entire body into thousands of bats and flies out of the dungeon. He leaves Hikari behind. That girl waste no time, she goes out of dungeon too. He runs aim to in front of the school's gate, where the battle she felt about is influence.
'Great battle…' she thought. '…so many ex-human vampires…'
With the left power of Ares, she can't be so sure of winning against those ex-human vampires and their master pureblood.
'It looks like…I have to go all out…' she thought.

Hikari shows up in the battle. She jumps out and land in front of the school's gate; join the first line battle there, with some noble vampires and the rest of hunters.
"Where have you been, Hikari?" Ichijou Takuma who fights besides her asked.
Hikari draws her weapon, "There is some business back then," And Then she starts to shoot every vampire who come attack the anti vampire gate and wants to enter the academy.
Hikari is looking around while she is fighting; watches the noble vampires who fight on their sides. She knows all of them; the boy with maroon hair is Senri from Shiki family, the lady with wavy hair is Ruka from Souen family, the boy with orange hair is Akatsuki from Kain family, and the girl with orange hair is Rima from Touya family…and with Ichijou Takuma, they're complete now. They are all Kaname's friends. They're fighting with the hunter to protect Kaname…to protect the future between human and vampires…giving hope for both kinds to living coexist someday.
Hikari smiles faintly, 'Kaname…you sure have something here…you have this many friends who always stay by your side…'
Hikari faces the purebloods. She shows her merciless face as hunter to them.
"I'll kill all of you…" she claimed firmly.
In a second, Cross Academy had become battlefield between vampire hunters against the purebloods and their servants. If chairman didn't close the academy few days before, no one could imagine how bad these chaotic situation would be and how if the students see these; the battle against the creatures who once believed doesn't exist?
Hikari keeps shooting every vampire who dares to get closer. She keeps shooting as if nothing happen, although…actually, there is something happens and only Hikari could feel it.
'Just hang on a little bit longer, Ares…please…' she begged deep within her heart.
She could feel it in every shoot. She can feel that Ares is dying in every second. It almost dead and vanished as its mother had. Even though, Hikari doesn't stops shooting and killing the purebloods mercilessly.
"Hikari…"
When Hikari heard that voice echoing within her head, she stops shooting. Suddenly, her body freeze. She doesn't move, totally. She just stands there and silently watching more vampires enters the academy.
Her ears can hear the sounds when Kaname tore his own chest and when the furnace is burning by the fuel of Kaname's heart.
Then she grabs Ares tighter in her clench.
"Kaname…" She bit her own lips; stops everything who wants to come out of her mouth in the end of her tongue.
Hikari get her conscious again and then she begins to shoots the vampires once more; this time she moves quicker and more merciless. No one knows…while Hikari shoots the vampires…tears running down on her cheeks.
