Everyone had left and Sam sent Emily home with Casey. He watched as Bella stood at the edge of the water. Her eyes were closed and the sun was setting which made her skin glow orange. "Bella. I need you to clarify some things for me" he told her. She sighed. "sam .If your tribe knew that paul was being abused and yet you still put up with his fathers crap, why in the word would why entrust you with the vital information of the relationship with paul?"
Sam sighed, she was right he had failed Paul . As alpha it was his job to protect his pack and he failed them. Bella sighed again. "relax Sam, that's not what I meant. You cant control or blame yourself for the abuse Paul went through but you can help him now. He needs someone that has gone through what he has. He needs you."
"and what about Jacob Bella? Are you going to hurt him again? Are you going to tear him from his imprint? Hurt my pack again."
Bella shook her head. "Jacob and i. We have both made mistakes. But I made the worst of them all. I did love him. I do love him! we could have been good togather. Really good. It wouldn't have been too much work. We could have been something. I admit that. but I have changed and so has Jake. I'm not denying that he's hurt but I've been hurt too. When he comes back, I'm going to be there for him. I told him that already. He must let me go. I'm not saying it should happen overnight. But we must move forward. He's my best friend and I want him to be happy. But I will not punish myself or him for us not working out. It is what it is. I let go of Edward and people were mad, I let go of Jake and people were mad. It's like I can't please anyone. Im human. Im not a vampire. Im here. Is that not enough. "

"im sorry should not be pressured into anything. But I am concerned. That cuff I saw on your wrist is something extremely sacred to our tribe and if you and paul are really togather, this could really affect the pack. Especially since you guys are not imprinted. You both know the consequences. I cant have that in the pack its too much risk. And Jacob is till raw from you not choosing him and then he imprinted. It only makes it worse. Seeing you and paul together would only make things worse."
"oh sam., I'm not that mean. i will not flaunt my relationship with Paul in front of Jacob, besides Paul and I are keeping it quiet. Now, you should get home to Emily and please let Casey know I am no threat to her and Jacob's relationship. If he wants it."
Sam nodded and left. Bella breathed in the salty air. If anyone could get through Jacobs hard head, it was the king of hard heads. Paul himself.
