MusicMaker87: K, um, dude, that's so not cool.
Soul: Hey, that's my line!
MusicMaker87: Ohhh I must've skipped my line! That's why it didn't make sense!
Soul: Yeah, you idiot. Now we gotta start over again.
MusicMaker87: Sorryy :C but... it's not that bad...
Soul: Whatever... and aren't you the one who wrote the script it the first place?
MusicMaker87: Yeahhh...
Soul: * sigh * Sorry... let's just get this over with...
MusicMaker87: OK! HERE WE GO FROM THE TOP! * ahem * I hate to inform you, but I got a really mean review on this story a while back. I didn't like it so I deleted it, but it still might possibly be there for some of you. I just wanted to say that it won't stop me from writing! The only thing that can temporarily do that is ... WRITER'S BLOCK (DUN DUN DUN)
Soul: ...
MusicMaker87: * cough cough * Soul it's your line * cough cough *
Soul: ... MM87... that wasn't even on the script...
MusicMaker87: ...
Soul: ...
MusicMaker87: ... Ah forget it! Just go to the Disclaimer darn it!
~~~~~~~~Soul's Disclaimer: When MM87 owns Soul Eater, she'll learn how to read right!
Maka: You're one to talk :P
Soul: What are you saying? That I can't read?
Maka: Not necessarily... I'm saying that you never take the time to read, so why would you accept doing this if you don't like it?
Soul: ... I dunno.
Maka: Honestly...
MusicMaker87: Alrighty then! TO THE CHAPTER!
Chapter 25: OH MY GOSH FEELINGS... EHH...
Soul: What kind of chapter name is that?
MusicMaker87: Why, Soul? Whyy must you judge me sooo muuuch!
Soul: Uhh... sorry...
MusicMaker87: It's ok! ~
Normal POV_
The curtains were closed shut.
There she sat in the darkness of her room. Surrounded by thoughts of who she deemed was her closest friend, not wanting to admit he was more than that, she couldn't help but to feel like her trust in him was starting to falter.
No.
It was not faltering, it was merely... fluctuating.
Yes, that's the word, she thought to herself as she wrapped her shivering body into the warmth of the heavy covers.
Maka let herself fall back on to her mattress with a long sigh. Surprisingly, she wasn't mad. She understood his misconception, but the fact that he made an assumption without asking her about the truth made her not want to forgive him.
Not just yet.
She had to make sure he knew that what he did was wrong. Nodding to herself, the decision was made clear. Forgiveness was definitely not an option at this point, or at least, not one she was willing to make.
There was a knock at the door.
"Pizza's here."
She sat up slowly. Soul's voice echoed through her mind. A memory from what happen only a few hours ago popped into her head, and she was glad that she was home.
The moment she ran away, Soul had followed her, but she wasn't ready to stop yet. She wanted to somehow burn off all of the sadness and anger in her heart, and the only way she could think of doing it at the moment was by running away, as fast as she possibly could.
But the thoughts kept pestering her, reminding her of how Black*Star's voice sounded when everything got serious. The way he blamed her for everything; she couldn't keep herself from crying. And soon enough, she was blinded by her own tears.
She sat up on her bed. What happened next was anyone's guess. The only thing she could remember after that was waking up under an old-looking oak tree, somewhere far away from the carnival.
Soul was there, breathing heavily.
"So, you're finally awake," he had said. He was looking at the sky, his eyes fixed on the clouds.
"Yeah," she sat up next to him.
"You ready to go home?" he asked, looking over to her.
She only nodded.
And then they left.
She was lucky to have such an amazing partner.
"Hey, Maka," Soul's voice interrupted her thoughts, "It's getting cold. What're you doing in there?"
"Oh, sorry. I was just thinking," Maka said as Soul slowly opened the door to look at her, "Do you remember what happened before I woke up under the tree?"
"Oh..." Soul said, "... Are you sure you want to know?"
Maka only nodded in reply.
"Alright... It wasn't very cool, but you weren't watching where you were going, and you... you ran into a poll..." he said, trying to suppress his laughter.
"I... ran into a pole?" Maka asked him, meaning to clarify if what he said was what she heard.
Soul nodded, "Yeah... I had to carry you pretty far."
"Oh, sorry about that," Maka scratched the back of her head and laughed nervously.
"It's ok, but come on, let's go eat," he replied and left for the living room.
Maka smiled, "Ok."
Normal POV_
Both clocks ticked in perfect harmony, neither of them a second off. They were the only ones that made a sound loud enough to break the utterly awkward silence in his symmetrical room.
He lied there on his bed, his arms and legs spread out in perfection. He took in a deep breath and let out a long sigh.
I can't let myself be distracted by things like this... he thought to himself as his mind went over everything that had happened that day, I have to focus on my mission. I'll meet with Shirley tomorrow, and surely... surely everything will work out. It has to.
"Kid, we made dinner this time," Liz said, "it's ready."
Kid sat up unimaginably quick and turned his head to look at his weapon.
"Did you make it symmetrical?" he asked.
"... Well... It might not be perfect, but...-" Liz started, but he interrupted her, "MIGHT NOT BE PERFECT?! I must inspect it!"
He hopped out of bed, and, with lightning speed, he rushed down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Ohh! Hi Kid!" Patty's voice could be heard from upstairs. Liz massaged her temples as she headed down for dinner as well.
"Do you like it?" Patty asked with a bright smile and rosy cheeks.
Kid stared the food down with all seriousness.
"Almost..." he replied.
"Huh?" Patty looked at him confused.
"Just eat it already," Liz said as she entered the room, "You haven't really eaten at all today."
"Hold on," Kid said, holding a finger up to her.
"It looks like Kiddo's feelin' better!" Patty smiled brightly.
"Well... it's nice to see he isn't sulking anymore... but I wouldn't personally say that this is any better..." Liz replied honestly.
"GARBAGE!" Kid shouted.
The two girls jumped at the suddenly loud statement.
"There's a speck on this side and not on the other side! I need tweezers!" Kid shouted, "Liz, get me the tweezers! I'll watch the speck to make sure it doesn't move!"
Liz's brows furrowed, "C'mon Kid, it's just a-"
"Hurry!" Kid ordered.
"Come on, sis! Let's look it your room! I bet there's some in there!" Patty skipped out of the room and up the stairs, followed by Liz who trudged slowly behind her younger sister.
"Hurry up, Sis! We can't let Kiddo's food get cold!" Patty chirped.
Liz sighed, "Go on without me, I'll catch up with you later..." She slowly fell onto the stairs and looked up at Patty who was already at the top step and was looking down at her sister.
Liz reached her arm up to Patty and looked at her as she said, "You... have to go on... without me..."
Patty blinked and then said, "Ok!"
She skipped away cheerfully towards Liz's room.
Liz dropped her arm and sighed.
~~~ Moments Later ~~~ Normal POV_
Patty gave Kid the tweezers and he successfully got rid of the speck. Afterward, the food was cold, so they had to warm it up again. Then, after all of that work, Kid finally said he wasn't hungry and then left the kitchen.
"But Kid, it took us almost all night to perfect this for you! At least take a bite!" Liz pleaded.
"I can't. I'm not hungry, and if I did take a bite, then I'd have to take another bite to make it symmetrical... Then it probably wouldn't look right so I'd have to take two more bites, and then four more, and then I'd finally finish it..." Kid explained.
"Just eat it..." Liz said.
"No." Kid replied.
"Patty! Could you please... do your thing...?" Liz said.
But before Patty could do anything, Kid shouted, "Please no! Anything but that!" He knelt before Liz and pleaded her not to do this.
"Then eat it," Liz said.
Patty glared at Kid, "Yeah... You're way to thin, you make me sick!"
Kid's eye twitched.
"I'm sorryyy!" he whined, "I'll eat it ok? I'm eating it!"
He took the plate from Liz and finished the meal.
"There, see? It wasn't that bad, was it?" Liz asked.
"It... it was actually pretty good... maybe I should have you girls cook for me more often..." Kid said.
"What! No way! That took us wayyy too long to prepare!" Liz said, folding her arms.
"But it was worth it! It was really delicious, Liz..." Kid said.
"... you really think so?" Liz asked.
Kid nodded.
"Alright... fine, but only once in a while... I can't afford to get my hands all greasy all the time." Liz said.
"Oh thank you Liz! Thank you Patty!" Kid bowed to both of them. Suddenly, the clock sounded, letting them all know that it was time for bed.
"It's... EIGHT!" Kid shouted excitedly, "Time to go to bed!"
"You really are insane," Liz shook her head.
"Yay! It's eight! Yay!" Patty laughed as she and Kid shouted this together.
"What am I gonna do with you two?" Liz asked herself.
"Tuck us in?" Patty asked childishly, with begging eyes.
"... Alright, we'll tuck Kid in first, though," Liz said to Patty.
"Aye aye, captain!" Patty saluted.
Kid smiled. He was glad he had such great weapons. He really is thankful.
And once everyone was tucked in and warm under the covers, the lights turned off and their pillows fluffed, they all went to sleep, and had good dreams.
Normal POV_
Black*star was on the roof of the house, staring at the dark, night sky.
His mind went over the things he said to her. Maybe it wasn't the best idea to do that to her at the carnival, where everyone was watching. Hell if he cared, he wanted the audience to hear what a god like him had to say. It was important, after all...
But...
Maka probably didn't feel the same way...
"She's probably embarrassed," Tsubaki had said as they walked home.
"Yeah, so what?" he had asked.
"Well... I think you should apologize to her," Tsubaki suggested.
"No way! She's the one who cheated on me! She should be the one to apologize!" he shouted in anger.
Tsubaki looked down.
"Black*Star..." she said.
"Yeah, what?" he asked.
"I know it might not seem like it, but Maka is really a shy person when it comes to this kind of stuff... She doesn't open up to men quite easily, and yet... she found some sort of a trust in you. Calling her a cheater... makes her feel like she's no better than her father..." Tsubaki explained.
"What? She should know her father is WAY worse than her!" Black*Star shouted, "Why would she think that?"
"Because of her experiences as a child," Tsubaki replied, "Just... think about it, alright? Don't overthink the situation... just think about how she feels right now... I doubt she's really even mad at you at all."
There was a silence before he spoke, "Alright... I'll think about it..."
Tsubaki smiled, "Good. Now what would you like for dinner?"
"What do you want me to do, Maka?" Black*Star asked out loud, breaking his own thoughts.
He stared at the stars, hoping to find some sort of answer, but he was unlucky.
"...Maybe I should go apologize after all," Black*Star said, "I guess..."
There was then a sound of a door opening.
"Black*Star, I'm going to bed now... You should come inside." Tsubaki said.
"Alright," Black*Star hopped off the roof and walked into the house.
"Well, goodnight Black*Star," Tsubaki smiled as she headed over to her room.
"Goodnight. ... Wait, Tsubaki," Black*Star said.
"Hm?" Tsubaki turned to look at him.
"I've decided... that I'm gonna go apologize to Maka tomorrow... I.. I think I wanna go alone, ok?" Black*Star said.
Tsubaki smiled, "Alright."
"Thanks, Tsubaki," Black*Star smirked, "Goodnight."
"Goodnight."
MusicMaker87: So... I think my Writer's Block is gone! YAY!
Maka: Awesome.
MusicMaker87: I know! :3 Anyway, wow this story is becoming sappy... I'll work on it more though... I'm trying to make it better everyday. Sorry it took so long to update by the way! I hope you enjoyed it!
