The Last Weasley
Harry drew in a deep breath as he stepped out of the plane. The air was different here. It was history and the past and what was once home. And he couldn't wait to leave it. He'd never hated England. Never. He despised most of the Wizarding World but England would always be home for him.
That first breath made him realize something he thought he should have known all along. England was home but now…so was Seattle. His resolve hardened. He would go take care of what needed to be done for George and then he was going home.
"Potter!" A female voice called out as he followed the crowd past the gate. "Over here!"
Harry turned and spotted the blond beauty calling to him. He smiled a bit and headed towards her. "Hello Daph," he greeted when he came to a stop in front of her. "You look amazing."
Daphne grinned and rested a hand on her protruding belly. "A Gryffndor with charm, is the world coming to an end?" She shook her head, blinked and then braced herself on his arm so that she could lean around her belly and kiss his cheek. "We've missed you."
"I've missed you too," he admitted and kissed the top of her head. "Where's Blaise?"
Daphne's eyes shone with mirth. "France picking you up. He's leading the aurors on a wild goose chase. And he's having a blast doing it. So far this morning he's apparated to Cairo, Brussels, Madrid and now Paris."
Harry grinned. "Well as long as he's having fun." He wrapped an arm over her shoulders and led her towards the airport entrance.

"Astoria's covering George's floor today," Daphne informed him as they finally made it out into the sunshine. "She's set up that alcove you like so that no one will know you've apparated in. She'll keep everyone away from there and George's room after I message her."
Harry nodded. "Thanks," he said huskily. "And tell her too if I don't see her."
Daphne wrapped an arm around his waist in a half hug. "I'll see you at the house tonight. Bedroom's the same one as always. Let me know when you apparate in and I'll fix you something to eat."
Harry sighed heavily. Suddenly he really didn't want to be here anymore. "Thanks Daph, really. Thank you." He couldn't look at her. He would break down and bawl like a baby if he looked into those understanding blue eyes.
"Anything for the Chosen One," Daphne responded in a sugary sweet voice. "The Man Who Vanquished and all that."
Harry huffed out a laugh and gently set her away from him. "How does Blaise put up with you, woman?"
"More like how do I put up with him?" She retorted. "Now go on, Story doesn't have all day."
"Yes ma'am," Harry grinned, saluted her, turned and apparated away.

Harry took a deep breath when he reappeared inside the small alcove down the hall from the room George had lain in for nearly a decade. He did not want to be here. He did not want to do this. He did not want to lose the last Weasley but he knew that it was time. George couldn't stay any longer. And the ties holding him to this world had been thin to begin with. Only Harry.
He took a quick glance around and then crept from the alcove and down the hall. He would say his good-byes to George, have dinner with Blaise and Daphne, floo call Nev and Luna, sleep and then go home. Screw McGonagall and Kingsley. They could take care of whatever themselves. He had people back home that needed him to be there.
"Hey Harry," the soft voice greeted him as he slipped into the room.
Harry spun around and stared at the form beside George's bed. "George," he breathed out. "I…I was too late."
George quickly shook his head as he stared down at himself. "No," he plucked up a thin cord of light and then let it fall back into himself. "Not yet. Soon though."
Harry sat down on the visitor's chair and held George's physical hand in his own while staring at his spirit. "I have no idea what to say," he finally announced. "I'm sorry doesn't cover it. I miss you and them seems so little. I don't…"
George nodded tiredly. "Yeah. Mate…you know I'm happy to finally be going don't you?" Harry nodded. "And I don't blame you and neither do they. The family tells me everything going on with you when I dream. I'm happy you've finally found somewhere and someone…someones."
Harry smiled a little. "They'll be glad to see you."
George let out that cocky grin. "For about five minutes and then me and Fred will do something to make Mum yell."
Harry's smile grew. "Yeah."
They let the comfortable silence grow a little between them. "You're wrong you know?" George finally commented.
"Mmm? About what?"
"I'm not the last Weasley, Harry." George's blue eyes became intense as they locked with Harry's. Harry waited him out somehow knowing this was important. "You are. You've always been one of us. Our black haired brother. You have a lot of responsibility now. You have to live for all of us and your parents and godparents, Snape and the Malfoys. You were part of all of us. So live for all of us and make it good."
Harry swallowed. "That's…that's a lot of living to do."
George grinned again. "You're Harry Freaking Potter you'll manage."
Harry chuffed out a laugh. "And if I don't?"
George shrugged easily. "We'll petition to have you sent back and try again. One for each of us. Or we'll just let the girls kick your ass. Whichever."
Harry let out another laugh. "I'll do my best."
George nodded. "Knew you would." He seemed to draw in a deep breath. "You find a way to be happy, Harry. That's all any of us want. That's the most important thing. Be happy. We'll be waiting for you when you make it up there but until then you be happy. All the shit that's happened has to have a balance."
Harry's eyes filled with tears. "It should be you guys," he said.
"No," George cut him off. "No it shouldn't. We wouldn't trade for anything. We…I am so glad you made it through and you deserve the happy ever after stuff."
"So do you," Harry said quickly.
George smirked at him a little. "Maybe but this is how it worked out so you get to have the happy ending and we get to have the happy afterlife. And we'll visit. They already do and now I get to come have a front row seat. I'm only going to say this once because, hey, I'm dying here so I get to say whatever I want." The smirk fell away. "I love you."
Harry blinked away the tears and nodded. "Yeah, me too. You're…the best family I ever could have wanted and I love you too, George."
George nodded. "Good. Don't forget cuz that's such a girl thing. But it's true." He looked down at himself again. "Hunh, doesn't hurt as much as I thought it would. See ya, Harry."
Harry watched the lanky form fade away and then stared as the body on the bed took one last shuddering breath and then ceased all movement. "Bye George," he whispered and then apparated away. It was time to go home.
