With Joey and Anzu
Joey and Anzu met back up by the clock tower in the middle of town. Joey was leaning against the clock as he waited for Anzu to join him. Anzu came jogging up to Joey. She looked like an absolute mess. She was still wearing her work uniform which was clinging to her from all the sweating she had done literally running around town all day long.
Joey gave Anzu a bright smile when he saw Anzu approaching. Her hair was sticking up a little bit from the wind blowing it. One of the things that he really admired so much about Anzu was that she didn't allow petty things like vanity get in the way of her being there for her friends when they needed her. And if Joey was completely honest with himself he thought Anzu looked her prettiest when she was wearing shorts and a t-shirt with her hair a mess.
Anzu finally joined Joey at the clock tower, "You said that we were going to be going over to Otogi's." Anzu commented.
Joey nodded, "Yea, Otogi called one a his council a Elrond emergency meetin's. Dunno why." Joey said.
Anzu frowned slightly as she grabbed her phone, scrolling through her texts. "He didn't text me an invite." Anzu commented.
Joey shrugged, "Ah, ya know wut a skatter brain 'togi is. He probably just forgot ta click on ya contact. 'sides I already said we both was on our way." Joey said.
Anzu sank down onto the ground beside the clock. She fancied herself in good shape since she danced but she had been at work and then spent the last almost 5 hours literally running around town searching for Ryou. Adrenaline had been the only thing that had kept her running and now that they knew where Ryou was the adrenaline had left her system and exhaustion had really started to set in. She literally could almost take a nap here on the sidewalk.
"Hop on 'zu." Joey said. Anzu glanced up at Joey. He nodded towards the two pegs on his back wheel. Joey had, it appeared, dropped the packages back off at the post office while he was out searching for Ryou since he no longer had them. Anzu had seen Joey give Yugi a ride on those pegs before when they were running late for school and had missed the bus.
"I'll be okay Joey. I just need to catch my breath." Anzu replied.
Joey chuckled, "Wut are ya afraid ta ride wit me?" Joey teased.
"No I'm not afraid of riding with you." Anzu replied as she slowly got back to her feet.
Joey gave her a bright grin again, "Den wut are ya waitin' for? Hop on so we can get ta 'togi's." Joey said.
Anzu gave Joey an exasperated smile before she stepped up onto the two pegs on Joey's back wheel. She leaned forward slightly and wrapped her arms around Joey's waist, her hands lightly grabbing his worn light blue t-shirt.
Joey grinned as he slowly started to pedal, "Welcome ta da Joey Wheeler taxi service. Next stop 'togi's house a horrors." Joey said. Anzu chuckled against Joey's shoulder as she allowed her eyes to slip shut as the wind whipped past her. She wasn't going to sleep. Just resting for a little while.
Joey kept his mouth shut as he slowly road through town. He could feel Anzu's breath had evened out as he was riding. He knew he had told Honda that they would be there in about ten minutes but if it took them fifteen minutes so Anzu had a comfortable ride then Joey was always going to take the fifteen minutes.
And sure enough about fifteen minutes later Joey came to a stop in front of Otogi's creepy house. Joey kicked down his kickstand before turning around slowly, being careful not to knock Anzu off the back of his bike. Joey smiled fondly as he saw Anzu was sleeping on his shoulder, her hand still clutching his shirt.
"Hey 'zu, time ta wake up." Joey whispered, lightly shaking Anzu's shoulder. Joey watched as her bright blue eyes fluttered open. It seemed to take Anzu a second or two to remember what was going on. Joey watched as the realization hit Anzu and she let go of Joey, stretching her arms out over her head.
"Thanks for the ride Joey. What do I owe you?" Anzu joked as she climbed off the back of the bike.
Joey gave her a goofy grin as he climbed off his bike, slinging his arm around Anzu's shoulders, "For you 'zu da ride was free. God only knows how many times ya've saved my ass ova da years." Joey said.
Anzu smiled, "And let me tell you, keeping you and the others out of trouble is a full time job." Anzu replied.
Joey laughed and Anzu soon joined him as they made their way into Otogi's house before heading down into the basement where Otogi and Honda looked like they were wrestling. Yugi was chilling up on the couch munching on a bag of Doritos. He grinned and waved the two over once he had noticed them.
"Hey Joey. Hey Anzu. Glad you could make it." Yugi said.
Anzu pulled away from Joey and sank down onto couch beside Yugi while Joey started pulling Honda and Otogi apart. It took Joey a couple of minutes before he finally managed it. Honda sank down in a worn leather chair while Joey took the other spot on the sofa on Anzu's other side, leaving Otogi standing in the middle of the room. Joey reached across Anzu's lap to snag a handful of chips out of the bad Yugi was eating.
"So, what's going on Otogi?" Anzu asked, her hand absently brushing the crumbs Joey dropped on her lap off onto the floor.
"Well, I guess we might as well start." Otogi said.
Honda snorted as he popped open a can of soda, "Yeah, let's get this council meeting over with. Some of us have other places to be tonight." Honda said pointedly.
Otogi glared at Honda before he just decided to plow ahead, "I've called this meeting because I may have gotten myself a girlfriend and I wanted the council's advice on how to proceed." Otogi said.
Joey grinned, "Way ta go Otogi!" Joey said, giving his friend a thumbs up.
Anzu elbowed Joey in the ribs to shut him up before he started a rowdy celebration. "Question Otogi, what do you mean advice on how to proceed? What exactly happened?" Anzu asked.
"Yeah, I'm with Anzu on this one. You need to tell us the story. You said it was going to be a good one." Honda piped up. Yugi nodded his agreement, curious to hear what had happened.
Otogi sighed before he decided to just tell the story, "Well I was at work today and the commander was being an ass, like normal. Anyway, long story short he knows one of my coworkers is afraid of heights so he being the dick that he is. Told me and her to do a track walk. She her and I climbed up to the top of the roller coaster and she was shaking like a leaf. I pulled her into my arms and kissed her. Then we climbed down, and finished the track walk." Otogi said.
Joey, Honda and Yugi all applauded for their friend. Joey stood up and thumped Otogi on the back in congratulations.
It took Anzu three attempted to be heard over the sound of celebrations, "I asked what happened NEXT!" Anzu yelled.
The four boys gave her strange looks, "Umm, Anzu Otogi already told us all the important stuff." Yugi said.
Joey nodded, "Exactly 'zu. He landed himself a girlfriend." Joey said.
Boys. Anzu thought as she fixed Otogi with a pointed look, "I asked, what happened next. What happened after you got off the roller coaster? What happened when you guys finished your shift? There had to be more to it than that. So, I want to know what happened next." Anzu said.
Otogi shrugged, "She wanted to talk about it after we got off but I told her I was doing some stuff with my dad tonight. Then I headed home after texting the guys that we needed to meet up. I didn't want to do or say the wrong thing so I put off talking to her until after we could discuss things as a group." Otogi said.
Yugi seemed to think for a moment, "That does seem like a good idea. I mean I know from talking to Atemu that having the time to plan is really important unless you want to end up saying the wrong thing and making a huge mess. So, holding off was a good idea Otogi." Yugi said.
"No, it was a terrible idea. I don't know why you boys are celebrating. Otogi does not have a girlfriend. After that mess he'll be lucky if the girl even talks to him again." Anzu said.
Otogi gave Anzu a funny look, "Did you miss the part where we shared a romantic kiss atop the roller coaster?" Otogi asked.
Anzu slowly rose to her feet, "No, I got that part. That part was fine. The problem was what you did afterwards. That was when you lost everything. You had an opportunity to talk to her and reassure her that things are good. You probably should have taken her to get something to eat and talk about what happened on the roller coaster. At which point she would have asked you about the kiss and you would have confirmed that you liked her. She would probably blush before admitting the same. And then you would agree to start dating. What you probably did was break that poor girl's heart and she is probably at home sobbing over a carton of ice cream." Anzu said.
"Uh, 'zu forgive me if dis sounds like a dumb question. Stupid male, but why do ya tink 'Togi broke her heart?" Joey asked as he scratched his head.
Anzu sighed as she thought how in the world she was going to try and explain the situation from a girls prospective. She glanced over at her friends and her eyes briefly locked with honey colored ones. That gave her an idea about what to say. She just really hoped her friends were as clueless as she thought they were.
"Let's try and think about this for a minute. We all agree that the kiss was sweet. The problem is that you boys don't think the same way girls do. To us, the kiss might certainly seem romantic. We are also constantly surrounded by chauvinistic pigs, sleaze balls, and just plain jerkwads. For the most part boys are disgusting and can even be outright cruel. Finding ones that aren't are rare." Anzu paused briefly, her eyes once again resting on warm honey before she continued, "When you kissed this girl she probably thought it was a dream come true. She was terrified and you kissed those fears away and supported her when she needed you to. That was great for a step one. But once that initial moment passed we then reenter reality. What you should have done was talk to her about what happened. Because you ran off as soon as you were able to the message you sent to this girl was pretty clear: I got what I wanted from you. Thanks but I'll call you later, like never." Anzu said.
The boys all shared a look, "Please tell me girls don't actually think like that." Honda said.
Anzu nodded, "That is probably what the poor girl thinks." Anzu said before adding, "Almost all girls think like that. It's part of being a girl."
"Shit. Shit. Shit." Otogi muttered, his hand resting on his forehead as his mind reminded him of the run in at the store earlier. Anzu's explanation put that interaction into a whole different context. Mana must think he was a told sleaze.
"Wut?" Joey asked, as he turned his full attention onto Otogi, who sank down onto the edge of the coffee table, his head in his hands.
"Anzu's right." Otogi muttered.
Anzu rolled her eyes, "Of course I'm right. You just now figured it out." Anzu said.
Otogi waved his hand dismissively, "I ran into her earlier today when I was buying stuff for our get together. She was upset. I asked her what was wrong and she told me to look in the mirror. I didn't get what she meant by that." Otogi said.
Anzu walked over and knelt down in front of Otogi, "You hurt her feelings Otogi. Now we just need to fix it." Anzu said.
"I can still fix it?" Otogi asked, like he wasn't really sure if he could believe Anzu.
Anzu nodded, "The most likely reason that she is hurt is because she does like you Otogi. This means we have hope. But the most important thing for you to do is to talk to her. You need to be honest and explain why you ran away. Don't try and protect your pride of make it seem like a big deal. Tell her you're an idiot. That you really like her and that you were afraid of making an ass of yourself." Anzu paused briefly before adding, "But only say something like that if you mean it Otogi. If you don't mean it than there is no point in trying to fix things. You'll just end up hurting her worse in the long run."
Otogi gave Anzu a grateful smile, "Thanks Anzu, you're the best." Otogi said.
Yugi however figured this was the best moment to shatter the serious atmosphere, "Man, stuff like this really makes me happy I'm gay." Which made everyone laugh.
Joey sank back down on the couch, commandeering a bag of potato chips and shoving a big handful into his mouth. However, his mind was racing. Was he imagining things or was Anzu shooting him looks when she was talking about guys? Or more specifically when she talked about guys that aren't scumbags. Assuming he wasn't imagining things what did she mean by that?
Anzu got up and walked back over to the loveseat and plopped down next to Joey, resting her head on his shoulder, "I don't know about you Joey but I'm exhausted." Anzu whispered as she tried to muffle a yawn.
Joey swallowed and paused briefly before he grabbed more chips out of the bag, "If ya wanna take a nap dats cool. I'll wake ya up when its time ta head home." Joey said. Anzu didn't say anything in response other than to snuggle more into Joey's shoulder and close her eyes. Joey assumed that meant she was fine with that.
Joey shoved another handful of chips into his mouth. He swallowed before he suddenly asked, "Hey, don't ya normally get pizza for dese meetin's?"
With Honda
Honda jogged home from Otogi's at 745. He was meeting Kisara at the museum at 830 and he needed to head home, shower and change into some fresh clothes before he headed over to meet her. Honda jogged through the dining room before running into his bedroom without even pausing to greet his parents who were watching a game show of some kind on television.
Honda wrenched open his closet as he started looking through his clothing options. The vast majority of his closet was either his school uniform or t-shirts neither of which were particularly appropriate for a romantic evening with a beautiful, classy girl like Kisara.
Honda dug into the far back corner of his closet and grabbed a white button up collar shirt that he'd worn when he went to his uncles wedding a couple of months ago. Honda then grabbed a pair of black dress slacks out and set them onto the bed next to the shirt. Finally, he dug through his sock drawer feeling around for a tie.
Logically he knew they were just going out for a movie and that he'd be fine in jeans and a t-shirt. But he really wanted to make a good impression on Kisara. He didn't want to be a buffoon and end up pushing her into Marik's waiting arms because he didn't treat her like the angel she was, which meant wearing a noose and itchy dress paints.
"Aha, gotcha!" Honda declared when he finally located his elusive tie. It was a simple navy tie with tiny white motorcycles scattered on the tie. His mother had referred to it as a classy compromise when he wanted a tie with a motorcycle on it and she wanted a simple plain tie.
Honda then headed into the bathroom and a quick ten minute shower and brushed teeth later he dressed in his selected outfit. He even dug out his stiff black dress shoes from the far corner under his bed.
He stuck his wallet into his pocket, making sure that he had the rest of the money Dr. Bakura had given him from the museum so he could buy Kisara whatever she wanted at the movies. He quickly sprayed a little bit of cologne on before he headed out to meet Kisara.
Honda jogged down the street and saw the museum only a short distance up ahead. He glanced down at his watch and saw that it was 821, which meant he was not late. The last thing he wanted was for Kisara to think that he had stood her up. Honda bounded up the front steps of the museum and rested against one of the tall stone pillars that flanked the entrance to the museum.
He didn't have to wait long before he saw Kisara round the corner and start to climb the steps. She had also changed since he had last seen her at the museum. Kisara was now dressed in a beautiful knee length white dress. There was some type of design stitched on the dress however Honda had no idea what it was supposed to be. But, he did know it was the most beautiful dress he'd ever seen in his entire life.
Kisara gracefully walked up the steps coming to a stop just in front of him. Honda was mesmerized by the way the lights reflected from her hair, giving her an almost ethereal glow. God, this girl was absolutely beautiful. Hell, Honda didn't even know if the world beautiful was strong enough to describe her.
Kisara smiled at Honda, "Good evening Honda." Kisara said, her hand idly playing with her dress.
Honda smiled brightly at Kisara in return before he offered her his arm, "Shall we, my beautiful angel." Honda asked.
Kisara smile turned a little bit shy, a light blush dusting her cheeks as she slipped her arm through Honda's. He gave her arm a reassuring squeeze before he led her down the steps and into downtown Domino. Domino, thankfully wasn't an overcrowded city, nothing like New York City or anything like that. The city was busy, certainly but it lacked the massive crowds that larger cities were known for.
"Right over there is Burger World. That is the best burger place here in Domino. And just up ahead is the arcade. If you ever want to go somewhere to just blow some money and have a good time that would be the place to be. And right up ahead we have the movie theatre, right next to the coffee shop. I've never been there before but my friend Anzu said it's really good." Honda explained as they walked since even though they were skipping the tour tonight he didn't' think it would hurt to give her some idea about her surroundings.
"You live in a beautiful city Honda." Kisara replied as they joined the end of the line waiting to purchase tickets.
Honda smiled at Kisara, "That must be because the buildings are just trying to their best to reflect your beauty. Although, I will say they are not doing a good job of it." Honda replied. God that was a really cheesy line. Where do I come up with these things?
Kisara chuckled, "Oh Honda you are so sweet." Kisara replied. Honda could listen to Kisara laugh all night long. It was like listening to a chorus of angels. Although he was happy he resisted the urge to spout that particular cheesy line.
The two waited in line for about ten minutes before they reached the ticket counter. Honda glanced over to Kisara and asked her which movie she wanted to see. There was a horror movie, an action one and a romantic comedy. Honda really really hoped she didn't pick the chick flick but if she did he would grin and bear it.
Kisara seemed to contemplate the movie titles briefly before she said, "Two tickets to the horror movie, please." Honda was definitely surprised since he didn't expect her to pick that movie out, but he wasn't going to complain. That was the movie that would have been his choice.
Honda paid for the tickets before heading inside. "Do you want me to get some popcorn? Candy? A drink?" Honda asked.
Kisara shook her head, "I'm actually not hungry. We ate a huge dinner at the Italian restaurant we ate at with the Ishtars. You can get something if you would like Honda." Kisara said.
Honda shook his head, "Nah, I filled up on pizza and junk food over at my friend's house." Honda said.
The two then walked into the theatre and took their seats. They were able to find seats in the very back row, which meant they had the best view of the screen. Honda sat down, with Kisara sinking down into the chair beside him. The screen was airing random advertisements to pass the time while the theatre waited for the movie to fill up.
"So, we have about 25 minutes before the movie starts." Honda said, his mind racing for something witty to say, anything but came up blank.
Thankfully Kisara was on the ball, "We could use that time to get to know one another better if you would like." Kisara suggested.
Honda grinned, "Sounds great, what do you suggest?" Honda asked.
"We could do a variation of twenty questions. We can each ask each other ten questions and the other person must answer honestly no matter what they ask." Kisara said.
Honda nodded, "Okay, ladies first." Honda said.
Kisara seemed to think for a moment, "Let's start out simple Honda. What's your favorite color?" Kisara asked.
Honda stopped to think for a moment before he answered, "Red. My favorite color is red."
Kisara smiled, "Okay. You're turn Honda."
Honda thought for a moment, he almost wanted to ask favorite color but didn't want to fall into the habit of just parroting her questions back at her. "What's your favorite school subject?" Honda asked. If he had to guess he would assume it was history, given she spent the world traveling to different museums with her father.
Kisara smiled, "My favorite subject. Oh that's easy, I love science. Specifically chemistry. It's always fun when I get to blow something up." Kisara replied.
Wow, that is hot! Honda thought as his mind supplied him with an image of Kisara wearing a white lab coat while mixing chemicals together and having them explode.
Kisara seemed to think for a moment, "Hmm, well Honda what do you want to be when you grow up?" Kisara asked.
Your husband?! Or perhaps just your love slave? Honda's mind immediately supplied. Honda was so happy he didn't just blurt that out. So, ignoring those two very rewarding career options Honda scrambled to come up with a third choice. "Umm, I guess that I would probably want to open up my own motorcycle shop." Honda said.
Kisara gave him a wide smile, "Oh a business man. That sounds fascinating." Kisara said.
Honda grinned, "It would be fun. I love motorcycles so I figured that being able to work with bikes all day would be pretty cool. Now, onto your question. I have a feeling that you're going to surprise me with your answer, what do you want to do when you grow up?" Honda asked.
Kisara grinned, "Well, I would like to be a forensic scientist. I always thought it would be really cool to catch bad guys for a living and since I don't see myself becoming a cop I figured that was the next best thing." Kisara said.
Honda proved himself correct, that was certainly not something he had expected Kisara to say. Apparently she was just full of surprises. It was Kisara's turn to come up with a question, "Now, how about we go back to the basics. Boxers or briefs?" Kisara asked, while giving Honda a playful smirk.
Honda gulped. That was playing dirty. But the rules of the game were pretty clear. "Boxers." Honda then decided two could play this game, "What color underwear are you wearing right now?" Honda asked. He didn't consider himself being a pervert since she started with the underwear questions.
Kisara gave him a sultry, playful grin, "Why, do you want to see?" Honda started choking on air. She did not just ask him if he wanted to see her underwear. Kisara laughed, "Kidding. I'm kidding. The joke was so obvious I couldn't resist the chance." Kisara said.
Honda shot her a playful glare, "That was not funny." Honda said.
Kisara smiled, "Oh I think it was hilarious. Now, as to your question. White. My underwear are white with tiny purple flowers on them. Trimmed with lace." Kisara replied. She then gave Honda another playful smirk before she leaned in and whispered, "The underwear match my bra."
Honda's face was beet red was not able to not picture Kisara wearing exactly what she described. He shifted uncomfortably in his seat since his pants had gotten uncomfortably tight. This minx was certainly the last thing that he had expected when he had met sweet Kisara earlier today.
Kisara chuckled a little bit longer before deciding to give the clearly embarrassed boy a break, "What's your favorite type of music?" Kisara asked.
Honda released a breath he didn't realize he had been holding when they had returned to what was considered safer territory, "I'm pretty simple in that regard. I like rock." Honda replied evenly.
Honda went to ask another question, however it was at this moment that lights dimmed and the movie trailers began to play. "To be continued?" Honda whispered as Kisara snuggled down in her seat, her head resting on Honda's shoulder.
"To be continued." Kisara replied.
Honda really enjoyed the movie. He loved horror films and it seemed like Kisara did as well. Both of them would take turns guessing which character was going to be the next do die. Before they knew it the movie was coming to a close. They got up from their seats and exited the theatre. Night had officially fallen. Honda reached out for Kisara's hand and was delighted that she took it without hesitation.
They made their way down the street heading back towards Kisara's hotel. It wasn't too far from the movie theatre. "So, back to our little game. What's your favorite animal?" Honda asked.
"Monkeys. I love monkeys. I could watch them in the zoo for hours." Kisara replied.
The two rounded the corner and the hotel officially came in sight, "What are you thinking about right now?" Kisara asked out of the blue.
Honda sighed as he came to a stop. She had to keep asking him these random questions that always seemed to catch him unaware. "That I'd really like to kiss you." Honda replied honestly.
Kisara gave him a bright smile, lightly wrapping an arm around Honda's shoulder. "Ask me the same thing." Kisara whispered.
"What are you thinking about right now?" Honda replied, relishing the feeling of how close Kisara was to him at this moment.
"That I really hope you kiss me." Kisara replied.
Honda knew better than to disobey what might as well have been a direct order. He leaned down and pressed his lips against Kisaras. Kisara meeting him half way. The kiss was sweet. And amazing. And wonderful. Magical. And every other wonderful adjective that you could think of. The kiss wasn't overly long but it seemed like it lasted forever.
Honda was the first to pull away when he could no longer ignore his body's desire to breathe.
"Wow." Honda whispered once they had finally pulled away. Kisara smiled before she pecked him on the lips once again. "Wow indeed Honda."
"I hope you had a good time." Honda said awkwardly. His mind would much rather play the kiss on repeat but he needed to at least try and focus on the conversation.
"I had a great time. And I really hope we can do this again sometime." Kisara said.
This time it was Honda's turn to playfully smirk, "Do what again? See a movie? Or kiss?" Honda asked.
Kisara gave him another sultry smile that seemed to do strange things to his insides, "Do I really only need to choose one?" Kisara asked.
Honda figured that this was the point where Otogi mucked it up. And he wasn't the fool that Otogi was. "Be my girlfriend?" Honda asked.
Kisara gave Honda another playful look, "What do you think?" She whispered before she leaned forward and kissed Honda once again.
As the two kissed under the light of the street lamp in front of Kisara's hotel two things raced through Honda's mind. One was it possible to just not longer have to breathe? And two, how do you know if you loved someone because right now that was exactly what his mind was screaming at him.
Honda didn't know the answer to either of those questions but he would certainly be trying to find out. All too soon Kisara pulled away from the thoroughly kissed Honda.
"Good night Honda." Kisara whispered before she slipped out of his arms and walked the rest of the way to her hotel.
"Good night, Kisara." Honda replied. He stood there and watched as Kisara entered the hotel lobby before he turned and decided to head for home. As he was walking away it vaguely occurred to him that he didn't have Kisara's number before he dismissed it as not an issue. He knew where she was staying and where to find her when she wasn't at the hotel. He'd be able to set up another date.
Besides, he still owed her that grand tour of Domino.
With Atemu
Atemu for some reason could not get to sleep that night. He finally gave up at around 3 am. He saw that Yami was sound asleep as he slipped out of the bed and headed over to his computer. He booted up the machine as his mind wandered over the past weekend. It had certainly been a whirlwind.
Once the computer had booted up Atemu opened up Google and typed Ammut in the search bar. He clicked over to images and scrolled down until he found a nice line drawing of Ammut from inside an Egyptian tomb.
He saved the picture to his computer before he pulled it up in paint and enlarged it as much as he was able without pixelating the picture. Then he pressed print. Since he was up anyway he might as well work on his project.
He walked over to the corner and grabbed the bucket of clay he had bought with Mai on Saturday and opened it. He was okay at sculpting and the good news was he had hours to get this just right. "Probably should start with the head first." Atemu mumbled as he rolled a clump of clay into a round ball which he would use as a base that would eventually become the jaws and face of a crocodile.
He knew that today was going to be a hectic day. As his fingers massaged the clay Atemu allowed his mind to wander. Yugi was not going to leave things where they had been. He was going to seek him out again, Atemu would bet his life on that. The question that Atemu needed to answer however was how was he going to handle that situation.
Or more specifically, what was it about Yugi that seemed to get under his skin so easily? The kid was a puzzle that Atemu could not figure out and it aggravated him. Yugi both infuriated and enthralled him. But the scariest part of all was the no matter how much he said otherwise he did care what Yugi had to say.
Soon Atemu was satisfied with the shape and size of the ball, his finger digging in indent between what was going to eventually become the crocodile's eyes. His fingers slowly massaged the eye socket before he was satisfied that it at least looked like a crocodile eye socket. He then reached into the clay and rolled another small ball of clay. Once he had a perfectly round sphere in his hand he reached over and grabbed a pencil off his desk before poking a hole into the clay creating the crocodile's pupil.
He figured that he had two options for how to deal with Yugi. He could do his best to continue to push him away and ignore him. Act like nothing Yugi had said or did over the last few days mattered at all and hope that eventually Yugi would give up and move on.
There were a couple of glaring flaws with that plan, the most obvious one was that Atemu didn't think it would really work. Yugi was almost as stubborn as he was and Yugi would probably keep going to greater and greater extremes to get to Atemu's attention. Those two things told Atemu that plan was a literal recipe for disaster.
Which meant he would have to approach the matter in a completely different way. Atemu had no idea if this was going to work, but what if instead of waiting for Yugi to pounce on him and start something. What if, instead Atemu approached Yugi? What if Atemu started this conversation instead of waiting for Yugi to? Perhaps that would give Atemu a greater measure of control over the situation and he might be able to resolve it to his favor.
At this point Atemu figured it was worth a shot. He glanced down at the clay sculpture he had been working on. He had completed the base of the skull and now he just needed to work on the jaws. A glance at his alarm clock told him it was now 415 told him he still had plenty of time to finish at least this part of the model before he had to start getting ready for school.
