AN: I have another update! Yes, tis me back from the dead - well sort of - I'm recovering from my end of year show and I am now a YR2, yay! *cries because so much workload will be put on* It will be worth it in the end though seeing as I also apply for UCAS this year to see if I get into Uni...hopefully yes! So yes, there shall hopefully be more updates now that it is the summer hols for me...carrying on with the story!

"Katie, hey Katie? Katie? Babe, are you here? Katie, come on, where are you?!"
"Why are you looking for her exactly?"
"James, right? James Diamond? I've been searching all over the place for her and I can't find her and I really need to see her. We've as in the Warblers have five more minutes before we go on stage and then McKinley go on afterwards and we never see each other after until the next day and I don't know, I'm just really nervous and she helps a little, okay? Have you seen her?"
"Uh, dude. I suggest calming down is a big priority here so do that. Um, I think that she is -"
Thankfully the older of the two was spared any excuse he could come up with as a flash of dark green almost barreled into them. James gave a small sign of relief before hugging Katie hello and waving a sign for her to say hello to him as well. Katie hugged and kissed him before the bell rang for him to be onstage while Katie and James ran back to the green room to find her glee club.
All of the BTR boys and Gustavo were with the music teacher and his class in the room with Katie's mum holding their seats outside. Katie clasped her hands together watching on with anticipation for her boyfriend and his choir. The Warblers usually always placed somewhere in the top three but competition looked hard out there this year. Kendall sensing her nerves drew her in for a side hug before pulling her away so he could give her the same piece of helpful advice he always gave.
"You want to gather everyone round Mr Schuester?"The music teacher had just given his own spiel just then and directed his head round to the Knight family nodding as he did so. Kendall and Katie gathered into more of the circle themselves.
"Okay, I don't really know what to say or how to phrase it but from the looks of things and from what I've seen, you're all a really bright bunch and take a look around you, these people,these friendships are going to stick with you for life and you need to treasure it. Treasure this. This and now because what you have only comes -"
"Once in a lifetime" The BTR boys and Katie finished off leaving the rest of the group and Mr Schuester in awe as Kendall beamed. Yet another bell rang signalling the end of the Warblers set and for them to go on stage. Kitty grabbed her friend's hand and then Blaine's before they all set out ready to face the last part of the music.
The boys stepped out first with the seniors ready in first position while the curtains drew back to reveal them, the sound of the first music note came through and they started to perform;
"I talk a lot of sssh when I'm drinking baby
I'm known to go a little too fast

The cheers rang so loudly for them that their ears were almost ringing, the juniors then came forward ready for their moment as the others took their place behind them. Katie stepped forward searching the crowd for her family and plain as day she saw them cheering and whooping loudly...except for Gustavo who sat as usual with his arms folded and a scowl ready to judge.
He hadn't changed one iota. With that smile in mind, she also noticed come and sit down next to him...Adam. Adam wanted to hear her sing and perform. He was constantly trying to make up for what he did in the past and it was one of the best things.

As they were the final group to go on when they finished, they stepped backwards onto the side waiting for the announcer to come on with the rest of the three final choirs. Everyone clapped and cheered waiting for that final moment. Second and third place had been announced while everyone held baited breath.
The two fighting it out for the top were the Warblers and the New Directions. The nerves, tension within in the room had escalated to a point where anyone in the room was almost screaming for them to tell the result.
"And the winner of the 2014 National Glee Club Championships is...THE NEW DIRECTIONS!"
Cheers and whoops and hugs were given out extensively and Katie almost felt like crying because of it, all of her heart, soul, sweat and energy had been put into those performances and they had won. They'd won. She'd actually been an integral part in winning given she'd had a main solo for most of the competitions. Adam had snuck up behind her while celebrating to peck her on the cheek.
"Okay, who wants to go celebrate with dinner? On me" Mr Schuester yelled as he held up their trophy as the others filtered in. Gustavo had approached Katie to shake her hand but she made yet another pass to hug him.
"Ah. You did good, kid. Um. You can, er -" Katie moved off thanking him glad he had approved of their song choices and voices. Her brothers were left in the background waiting for her to decide whether she'd go out or stay with her brothers.
"Guys, I would really love to go out with all of you. But there's something I have to do first"
"Katie, what do you mean?Could be fun, and I'm sure the guys would love to have you with us" Mr Schuester asked.
"I know these are my last few days with you and I'm going to say goodbyes to you properly, have a bit longer to do so, I just...I want to spend time with my brothers. Okay?" Katie quietly mentioned.
All of the others nodded in agreement and that they'd see her at school on Monday leaving the Minnesota family with her who looked a little more than shocked that she had stayed with them. She noticed again she only had two weeks left in McKinley then realised she didn't want it to end. Dragging all of the boys outside to meet her mother along the way, she described that this choice may not have been hers or wanted by her in the first place but right now, she had been extremely thrilled to have given this a chance.
