Lovino felt hallow during the ride back to town in the late afternoon, the rest of the group thought it was a good idea to let Lovino have his space and cramped into the truck's seats while Lovino stayed back and let the wind blow his hair back like a harsh slap to the face. He didn't know what made it different, maybe Antonio just wasn't meant for him. An alien and a lowly human like him were never meant to stay together. Hell, the Italian didn't have to worry over the bastard anymore. He was free of the Spaniard finally able to wander freely and return to his old life, so why didn't he want to be free anymore? Cause that life was full of fear and loneliness. Damn that Antonio, Damn him to the deepest parts of hell when he gets executed. Ouch, that just hurt Lovino in general….The Italian sighed and wrapped his arms around his knees for some source of comfort. He wanted to believe Antonio didn't change him at all, but saying his name in spite and pretending he didn't exist was all for vain. From the stupid harvesting of tomatoes….
"Hey Lovi~ Look at this one!" the Spaniard yelled while waving a perfectly ripe tomato. Lovino looked back to the lush garden where the brunette was waving and narrowed his eyes in annoyance.
"Don't just wave it around! Put that damn thing in the basket and keep picking!" Lovino yelled as he returned to picking up his own basket and returning to his perfectly lavished house that stood with upmost pride. The Italian was too busy trying to get inside with a basket full of tomatoes that he didn't see Antonio glancing at his watch then to the Italian to smile before he returned to his harvesting.
"Always so careful…Lovi, even with the most lesser of items…what a foolish human you are…"
Lovino sighed and felt a chill overcome him, what an idiot the Italian was. To believe such a dream would stay forever. That he was actually going to get something in his own favor for once. He was no less that a flea…no…ironically he was lesser than a withered tomato. Wrinkled and black so no one would take it, just the plump and red ones. But Antonio was a different person; he never looked at the Italian in pity. He never abandoned Lovino for anything, or anyone….
"Ve~! Tonio, Lovi's house is way too small for the both of you to stay there. How about you stay here instead? We have extra bedrooms and everything~!" Feliciano offered one day, placing his cakes on the shelves. Antonio was tilting his head in wonder of the offer that was given to him. Lovino was off the side, beside the stairs as to not be seen. This is where it ended? Feli was going to sweep Antonio away like that? Well, who wouldn't deny such a chance? Feliciano was cuter and nicer and bubblier…much better than the older Italian. He could imagine it now, the Spaniard dropping his things and nodding his head like an ill-headed puppy. Probably running of to the sunset while skipping and singin―
"It's okay Feli, we manage with such a small house! I just sleep on the couch, it's a very comfy couch too!" he rambled while smiling. The two just shrugged off the suggestion and started talking again, but Lovino was frozen in place and running questions through his head. Antonio denied? He decided to stay with the angrier Italian no matter if he had to sleep on a couch? For some reason Lovino felt his living heart quicken in pace on its own before he felt his color rise to his cheeks…he wasn't abandoned for his little fratello…? The Italian was so deep in his pleasant daze that he didn't see Antonio glance at him before he suddenly brightened and laughed.
"Lovi looks like a tomate~!"
That pleasant daze was quickly snapped in half and replaced by embarrassment was Lovino's downfall as his cheeks burned and he started to bark.
"S-shut up bastard!"
Lovino shivered again and held himself tighter together, he was fine. The dammed idiot didn't affect him…right? The Italian was going to be fine! It was destined to happen, no matter how unfair it was….he didn't need Antonio's hugs….
Lovino sneezed as he lazed on the couch while sniffling, stupid season colds….He didn't need one at the moment. The Italian wished he could just crawl into bed and sleep forever but he had no energy….He shivered and tired to warm his body up before something soft attacked him.
"Ahh!" Lovino yelped as he sense of sight was taken and snake-like appendages coiled around him. After seconds of struggling the Italian was able to free his head to look at his offender with annoyance, "What the fuck are you doing?"
Antonio seemed to purr before he answered, "On this show on the television there was this lady that acted like you right now. Sniffles and shivers, then this man wrapped her in a blanket and hugged her~ Then she felt better!" he concludes and hugged the Italian tighter. Lovino coughed slightly and struggled.
"That means shit! Let me go!" he screeched as he struggled more, but in vain since the Spaniard refused to release him. The result of this was both men falling into a pitiful heap on the floor.
He didn't need his weird ass kisses….
Lovino was finally doing a small hobby he never thought he could do anymore. Painting. When he was completed he had the urge to toss it was it was nothing compared to his brother's skills. But sadly around that time, Antonio walked in and looked over the painting.
"So pretty~!"
"Liar."
"I'm not lying! Whatever that means….It is really pretty!" he concluded and smacked his lips on the Italian's bare shoulder. It made said Italian bristle and beat the living shit out of the Spaniard. But the kisses didn't stop. Some were on his neck, other on his arm or fingers. Hell, even his foot and ankles. But never the lips….which was weird cause Lovino never thought he wanted one of those…
Lovino stiffled a sob from escaping his lips and shook his head, he didn't NEED the alien bastard! He was fine on his own! He could handle watching three kids and having a artificially working heart. He could handle his illness that Francis and Iggy believed was something else. He could handle being alone...once again...
For once in a long while, longer than he could ever remember...
Lovino Romano Vargas cried openly to the heavens.
Elizabeta jumped as she head the loud wail from behind her, she was tempted to look but Gilbert had a vice grip on her hand.
"Let him at least keep his pride, Lizzy. That's almost all he has left..."
Elizabeta was oh so tempted to crawl to the back and comfort the Italian, but Gilbert was right in some way. So she just held the restless sleeper of the little Spanish boy tighter and swallowed thickly to go deaf to the wails. She could see Francis to the side, twiddling with his fingers as if he wanted to distract from doing the same. But who could blame him? He caused a huge dent in Lovino's scene; he was there for most of the twin's life. He watched them grow but never told of his life and what his true goal was. The doctor was a enigma that caused more harm than good. Then up front was the agents and Iggy, they seemed to have had the music turned up to ignore the wails also. Alfred was biting his lip painfully and Kiku was twiddling his thumbs as well. Iggy seemed the most relaxed, yet stressed as he merely was looking out the window. The Hungarian sighed before leaning against her fiancé and shutting her eyes to the world. Hopefully Feli can do something to make Lovino feel better….
By the time the group got to the town's limits, Lovino's cries had subsided to small hiccups and from a few blocks away Feliciano and Juan were patiently waiting outside with bitten down lips. The truck stopped in front of them and reluctantly Lovino moved out and stood at his brother's side. While everyone else flooded out Lovino conversed with his brother.
"The finches aren't singing today…" Lovino whispered while his eyes stayed downcast. The younger Italian titled his head in question and looked around.
"We have finches?" he asked. Lovino nodded and gestured to the hanging ceiling above them.
"There is a nest up there, and they sing almost all the damn time…" Feliciano only nodded his head and looked out to the setting sun.
"Maybe you should go to bed, Lovi….You guys were gone for nine hours, you must be tired." He suggested and guided his brother inside with a smile on his features, Gilbert and Elizabeta followed. Maneul ran up to Juan and looked at him in the face before the older boy suddenly grinned at him and ruffled his hair.
"You little planner, you did good." He muttered before he put his hand in his pocket and started inside. Manny grinned also and looked at the agents and Francis with shining brown eyes.
"We need to thank Tony, but thanks to you guys too." The other three smiled at the boy in return but the warm atmosphere was shattered as Iggy crossed his arms.
"I don't know what you planned but I don't like it! Frog? What did you do?" he glared at his blonde lover, the Frenchman laughed a hooked his arm around the officer's waist before he waltzed inside.
"Mon petit lopin, you'll find out in the morning~"
Alfred laughed before he bent down to ruffle the kid's hair, "You're a smart kid, don't let a town like this bring you down." He muttered, Manny was pouting before he shook his head.
"This town is my home. I'll not let it bring me down, I'll bring it up with me!" he declared. It was Kiku's turn to make a small laugh.
It was later at night when all residents of the shop were residing to bed. Feliciano sighed and curled up on the bed while looking outside the window.
"Luddy?"
"Hmm?" hummed the taller man was he was to the side of the room, packing a few of his belongings before going to bed.
"I think I want to adopt Elena..." he suddenly declared. The sound of a book dropping then the yelp of the blonde made the young Italian look up to see his German lover hopping around and holding his foot.
"N-now Feli, do you really think we should?" he asked in pain before he sat on the bed. Feliciano moved to sit behind him and started messing with the blonde's hair.
"Well, she kinda likes spending time you and me better than with her brothers and Lovi. I think it would be good if she was our kid. Then when we wnet to Italy together, she wouldn't have to stay in this town." he explained while smiling absently. Elena was too pretty to be stuck in this town, she had amazing culinary skills and a ear for music. That couldn't be wasted here...
Ludwig seemed to hum in thought, the same thought that went through the Italian. "I understand your proposal...It would be very hard to get everything.." he turned his head to look at his soon to be spouse and smiled, "But for your sake, we'll try..."
Feliciano suddely let the brightness of his smile glow, "Really?" when the German nodded the smaller Italian wrapped his arms around the muscular man and pulled him back.
"Ti amo! Ti amo!"
Alfred sighed as he landed on the bed in a heap, the smaller Japanese man that was typing on the bed jumped up a few feet from the impact.
"Must you do that?" Kiku asked while he started typing again. The American nodded while looking at the ceiling.
"Yes, I drove for eight hours! I'm sad and tired and I need a desperate way to go to sleep." He boasted while looking expectantly at the Asian. Kiku only stared back and sighed before typing on his laptop again.
"Let me do this report…then you can have happy time…"
"Awww…no fun…" Alfred pouted but then looked back up at Kiku with a serious expression, "Is it him?" he asked
Kiku seemed to swallow before nodding and typing more furiously, "The case is interesting him and the wedding isn't for another three weeks…he might show up…"
Alfred growled and narrowed his eyes, "Not if I have anything to say about it." He spat and whipped out his phone, texting furiously while his tongue stuck out. Kiku stared for only a little while and sighed as he sent the latest report in. When he put away his computer and got in more comfortable clothes did he look up to see the satisfactory face of the American, "Mattie is on the job now!" Alfred declared and held his arms out, "Do I get a reward?" he made a crude kissy face. Kiku only smiled and shook his head at his spouse's immaturity before depositing himself on the bed and getting into the brash man's embrace.
"You rely on your brother too much." The Japanese man muttered before letting his lips fall to the blonde's. Alfred, being as impatient as ever let the kiss have force before he pulled back and grinned.
"But I get my work done! Now~ for my sleeping meds!" he suggested before he started biting at the smaller male's neck.
"A-Alfred!"
The room was silent and dark except for the harsh pants and rustling sheets of the two blonde aliens in the bed, both were fully clothes at the moment but not for long.
"You stupid frog, I could have gotten in deep shit if they figure it out." he hissed harshly while pulling at the long hair of his lover. Francis winced but made the comeback of making a large bite on the Briton.
"That is why I didn't tell you. Now shut up and let the love overflow~!"
Iggy growled but relaxed anyway to feel his shirt ride up, he smiled a bittersweet smile. "I wish I was in Lovino's place..." he whispered. The doctor paused to scoff queitly,
"His place of being alone and confused? Of not knowing the next stage?" Francis quickly said, his body starting to tense. But Iggy put a reassuring hand on the Frenchman's and smiled up at him.
"Actually, his place of being loved by so many, and of not knowing the next adventure..."
Francis paused before smiling himself and ducking down again to kiss the Brit.
"I guess you sorta right..."
The gentle humming filled the lighten room as Elizabeta softly ran her fingers over the supposed Prussian's hair.
"We don't know more than we should, huh Gil?" she asked quietly. The male only nodded silently as he started dozing off. The Hun was smiling and took this as an invite to speak more.
"We're just ordinary humans, like Feliciano and Ludwig….yet we're surrounded by abnormalities." She hummed again, "Does that make us abnormalities?" she wondered.
"We've always been abnormal, Lizzy…before all this ever happened." Gilbert finally spoke, he turned his head to look up at the Hun and made a furrow of his brows, "You even look abnormal from this angle."
Elizabeta growled and made a good hit over the German's head and turned away, "Well at least I don't look albino!" she huffed. When she felt a body lean heavily on her and a breath on her ear did she shiver.
"But that's what makes me awesome."
Juan growled as the source of his annoyance blew in his face once again. To the side of the bed Elena and Manny were watching in slight amusment, they couldn't sleep since Lovino gave up his bed to them and was sleeping in the lounge tonight, so the youngest of the three started to watch their older brother try to sleep. But something always stopped him.
"This stupid curtain keeps blowing in my face! Gah!" he yelled and tried to turn away from it, but the curtain still blew over him, "Dammit!"
Elena and Maneul couldn't help but laugh lightly at Juan's anger as he tired to wrestle with the curtain in hopes to get some amount of sleep tonight.
It was extremely cold tonight to the oldest Italian, he was on a pullout from one of the couches in the lounge and he had a full view of the moon. It wasn't as glowing as other nights. Lovino didn't want to worry the kids too much about him so he decided to sleep down here. To his side was a slicing knife he was so tempted to use, he didn't care what effects it would do to him. He didn't care, because you know what? Antonio did change him, in so many ways. He was the firsts of many things; he was the shining light the Italian could look for. Hell, the moon beamed when Antonio was happy. But now, Antonio was gone, the light was gone, the moon was dull…it was like the small separation from last time. But this one was larger by comparison, cause the alien was never coming back. Ever. Lovino stifled a sob as he let the knife slide into his hand; he wanted it…so much….but when the blade was to his neck, ready to do its job…Lovino backed down. That's wasn't him anymore…he had to live, if not for the bastard, then for Juan, Manny, and the others. But dammit! It hurts so much! The Italian threw the knife across the room and curled under the covers to cry out. He couldn't stand this! Such separation from the one person he could admit to love was killing him. He was so out of it, so tired and worn and in a depressing daze, that the gentle melody of a hum didn't disturb him.
"―vamos a bailar?
Muchacha Kiss Kiss Bang ¿quién eres tú?
Extraordinaria y va, qué cool
Tus besos son como electicidad
Sólo te vero y no puedo esperar"
Lovino sobbed again as his thoughts deceived him; he was not hearing Antonio's voice sing a catchy Spanish song from the doorway. No fucking way in Satan's hell….but he listened as hums grew louder and footsteps approached his cured state.
"Imaginando, yo me enciendo
Tómalo en serio porque no es juego
Y yo sé que eres mía y yo para ti
Así es que te doy mi corazón aquí"
Lovino could help but laugh bitterly at the disillusioned voice singing such a stupid song in this situation. Only Antonio, the idiot, would sing about kissing and dancing instead of those cheap love songs. Lovino mentally hit himself, Antonio wasn't here, and it was all in his head. But he started to doubt himself as the bed dipped and he was trapped under some body.
"Muchacha Kiss Kiss Bang vengamos a bailar
Muchacha Kiss Kiss Bang vengamos a cantar
Mueve ese cuerpo lindo, no dejas de parar
Guapa Kiss Kiss Bang, vamos a bailar"
Lovino couldn't take it, this was all not real! He wanted to open his eyes and see nothing, but he was fearful of it. The voice, the warmth, the feeling of his own skin sweating, it was so much! Lovino was about to give up, let the dream take over him, but the press of lips against his temple made his eyes suddenly snap and look up in absolute surprise. There leaning over him was the man he saw from only hours ago that left the ship, his hair still curled and his eyes still shining. He swore he saw the moon beam again as he let words escape him.
"You…you…." Lovino started, the alien was grinning at him and was waiting for his little lover to speak but was sadly mistaken as a fist met with his head.
"You sing me a fucking dance number after all that I've been through? You stupid, idiotic, imbecile from another world, you are not supposed to be here….your suppose to be…." He started but was shaken in sobs, it couldn't…it shouldn't. But the Spaniard only sat up and wrapped his arms around the shaking Italian and whispered sweet nothing to him.
"Te amo…Lovi."
"You….how are you not…?"
"Tony…..he took my watch and took the form of the dead human too…he went on the ship while I was hiding in the attic."
"But…."
"Tony thought doing this was a way to repay Earth in some way for keeping him here, he sacrificed his life…for me to stay here…." He whispered sadly, "And it was all Manny who came up with this, he's a smart little human."
Lovino was shocked in a sense, his tears soaked his cheeks before he reached out to touch the alien, and his skin was still tanned and human. He didn't look any different. Then when the Italian reached to kiss the Spaniard, he was met with a wrinkled nose before he was attacked on the lips fully.
"Antonio….you bastard…leave me one more time," Lovino sniffed, "And I'm going to shoot you."
The Spanish alien made a bright and happy smile before he attacked such sweet lips again and collapsed on the bed. "Never ever will I leave you again. Te amo." The Italian lifted his head to look over the alien once again before he let his head fall and hid his giant smile.
"Ti amo, bastard."
