Author's Note: One of my teachers actually did do this. When I said I want your opinions and stuff… I meant it. I want to know what you want to see happen.

An excerpt from the journal of Stefanie Wagner. High School Personal Finance teacher:

Today was the first day of class and, as always, I asked the students to write their names on a notecard. Then they wrote their parent's phone numbers, and an interesting fact about them. I know how awkward it can be if a student is put into a group with someone they don't like or maybe an ex-girlfriend or boyfriend so I said if anyone wanted to avoid being put into a group with another person to put that person's name at the bottom.

As I was going through the notecards, I noticed that 90% of them had the name "Sherlock Holmes" at the bottom. I looked through them during class and when I looked up to find Sherlock, I knew it was him because there wasn't a single person within five feet of his desk.

I had been warned about this boy by other teachers but he didn't look like the kind of kid who would try to make trouble. He looked like he needed help. He needed a friend. Someone he could talk to.

I kept going through the cards and then I found his. It had his name, the phone number, and there at the bottom he had listed every single person in the class.
