Chapter 25!
Visiting our Ally!

So, after a two day trip through the lands Sesshomaru and Rin owned, they finally made it to their ally. Their demon friend in whom they shared the land with was Fuyeko. He was obnoxious, rude, and a drunk. However, he was very smart when it came to battle tactics and leading an army. The married couple came out from the carriage. "It is quiet, I don't like it." Sesshomaru said, sniffing the air.
Soon after Rin came out, so did Master Jaken. "My lord, why did I have to come along?" "You will watch the carriage, our driver is only human and cannot protect himself. Stay here, that's and order." Master Jaken quivered with fear, but headed Sesshomaru's demand. "Yes me lord!" Sesshomaru nodded and walked up the ramp of Fuyeko's palace. "Rin, with your new hanyou abilities, you must smell what I smell." "Yes , I smell blood shed, and it smells fresh from last night." "Indeed, we will keep our guard up when we enter, the enemy could still be near." "Yes, I will keep all my senses on alert."
Sesshomaru nodded and moved up the ramp slowly first. He quietly opened the front doors of the palace and entered inside. Rin followed suit, keeping Sangotsu in defense mode while scoping here vision around the area. Inside the palace there was blood all over the walls, followed by dead maids and dead butlers. Even Fuyeko's pet cats were slain. "Uhh, how awful." "Whoever this person was, they were not human. It stinks of demon in here, and it is not Fuyeko's scent. This demon was also a professional, no one but a trained killer could make those cuts and slashes on their kill. "Sesshomaru said, observing the dead bodies of the help. "My youki, you don't suppose that Fuyeko is-?"
"I bet on it, I can smell his blood as well. Perhaps he may be wounded, we should keep moving."
Rin nodded in reply to the dog demon and followed his lead up the stairs. More maids and butlers lay dead with their blood shed on the walls and floors. The sight was gruesome to Rin as she tried to hide her vision with Sangotsu. Both kept moving throughout the house, trying to find Fuyeko. "Beware the assassin, beware the assassin!" "My youki, that sounds like Fuyeko!" "It's coming from the balcony!"
The married couple ran onto the balcony, they found Fuyeko on a bench. His insides were hanging out and a pool of blood was formed under the bench. Sesshomaru and Rin rushed to his side.
"Fuyeko, who did this to you?" Sesshomaru asked, holding up the demons head. Fuyeko coughed and replied. "The demon assassins of the North, they were allies with a band of thieves who called themselves Judo." Sesshomaru's eyes widened and replied. "Rin and I killed them all." Fuyeko coughed and replied. "I see, it must have been revenge. Sesshomaru, you must destroy them! Before- before—"
"Before what?!" Sesshomaru belted, frustrated with grief. Fuyeko looked up and replied before he entered death. "Before they find my- sons…." Fuyeko then died in Sesshomaru's arms.
Sesshomaru had met Fuyeko's sons, but only once. He did not remember them well any more. Sesshomaru sighed and got to his feet. "Rin, we must lay him and the others to rest." Rin nodded in agreement and replied. "Yes Sesshomaru."
Later….
After burying the dead, Sesshomaru burned down the palace. "MY LORD! WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO FUYEKO'S PALACE! ALL OF HIS POSTIONS WILL GO UP IN FLAMES!" Master Jaken exclaimed. "Yes, that is the intention Jaken." Confused, Master Jaken spoke. "My lord..?" "If they come back, they will be looking for anything that could lead to Fuyeko's sons. With that evidence burned to the ground, it could delay their search." "Genius my lord! Once again your brilliant mind has blossomed!" "Jaken, get in the carriage." "Y-yes my lord!" Master Jaken got inside the carriage, along with Rin and Lord Sesshomaru himself. What was supposed to be a visit to their ally, was now a hunt to search for the assassins of the north.
The next day….
Sesshomaru, Rin, and Master Jaken continued their journey to the north. Master Jaken did not think this was such a good idea. They were supposed to be gone for2 days, not 4. "Lord Sesshomaru, do you not think the Maids back home and the twins will be in danger if we are gone for too long?" "Relax Jaken, we are not far, I can smell those demons 2 miles ahead. They seem to be pillaging a village, I can smell human blood." Rin gasped and jumped out of the carriage with a reply while running. "Then we should get off our lazy butts and save them!" Sesshomaru rolled his eyes and said "Jaken, stay with the cart." Before taking off after Rin. "Why does he always leave me behind!? Driver, step on it!" Jaken said, ordering the coach man to make the horses go faster. "Yes Lord Jaken." The coach man sped up, following Sesshomaru and Rin into the village, where they would soon meet the assassins of the north.
