Lauren
Lauren was on her side, Bo had her back to the Doctor. Lauren gently reached around and felt Bo's chest, and smiled when she felt her heart beating. It was a simple gesture, but also soothing. She slowly traced her hand down Bo's stomach and the Succubus slightly stirred.
Glancing back over her shoulder at the clock. It was still early, but she was already feeling late taking Bo to the castle so they could get dressed and marry. She started panting thinking about the nerves that would likely be churning in her stomach. Married. Her and Bo. Bo and her. Them.
She smiled thinking of that day back in the Light Fae compound. How she had walked Bo to her lab. Dyson had to come and take her handcuffs off, and frowned when Lauren told him to leave them alone. There were things a man shouldn't see unless a woman allows him to. But what Lauren saw after Bo started to strip, made her deliriously happy that she was a woman. A woman Doctor to be exact. She'd look at Bo and then back down at the floor, or anything that would draw her attention from the partition. She could still see Bo's physique. She was very toned, and curvy in all the right places. She smiled when thinking of how her voice cracked when she asked Bo to sit on the table.
She took a deep, and soft breath thinking of their first, and second time together. The pain of watching Bo storm out of the clubhouse and away from her. The gentle teasing of her hair followed by a kiss on the cheek, after the second time. Bo almost begging her not to go, but Lauren had to. She couldn't afford to keep the Ash waiting, or to piss him off any further than he already was. Lachlan was still very new to her. So was her growing feelings for Bo. Sure she had another. But Nadia only had her attention, and not her love. Not anymore at that point.
After years of trying to cure her and missing her touch, her heart had changed. It had become closed off to all and every suitor she found fascinating. She was on the precipice of giving up on love, when the Succubus shot into their world. A world Bo knew nothing about yet. But Lauren was willing to teach her all that she knew. And Bo would teach her how to love again. How to breathe again. How to live again. How to hope again. How to be herself again.
Any hopes of freedom flew away with every failed cure she thought up for Nadia. She knew to curtsy to the Ash and to take Dyson's constant mocking because there was nothing she could do, or say to him that wouldn't get her thrown into a dungeon.
Caged even when she walked around the lab, on her own two feet. Then came Bo to free her of all of that. She could smile again. Talk again without feeling like the wrong word, would get her slapped by the Succubus. But those things never came to pass. Bo's anger was nasty, but never physically threatening like the Fae had been before.
She wanted to tell her all of these things that first night. Then they could formulate a plan to free Nadia and keep them, them. She remembered the day she went to talk to Nadia. She was telling her about Bo and came close to telling her, that she had found love again, a few times. But couldn't do that. She couldn't do that when Nadia woke up either because, if nothing else she owed Nadia a chance to win her back. Not knowing she had lost her. When they first kissed, it almost felt like it used to, but once they stopped, the jig was up.
Nadia would touch her, and kiss her, and Lauren just wasn't into it. They weren't Bo's fingers, Bo's mouth. Bo's everything. Nadia waking up was on the brink of putting Lauren's heart back to sleep. Then the Garuda happened, and for the first time, the Doctor started to wonder if it was him she was kissing, him touching her, and the real Nadia was never there. Lauren had no way of knowing. Nadia rejected her every attempt to inject her, and she knew if she tried with the Garuda inside of her, she would be dead in an instant.
She thought about Nadia begging for death. Wanting to be free. How could Lauren deny her that, when she hadn't been free of the Fae in years?
Closing her eyes, Lauren focused on the woman in her arms. Bo had killed Nadia and they never talked about how she was dealing with it. Only Lauren. Bo hated killing and even though the Garuda was Fae, he was still in a human's body. She hoped that Bo didn't go home and do something to herself. This wasn't her fault. It was the Faes. The Fae that was in Lauren's life long before the Succubus showed up.
Bo suddenly pushed back against Lauren, and the Doctor allowed it. Biting her lips, Lauren removed her arms from around Bo. It was time for breakfast and if she was quick about it, she could cook and be done before Bo woke up.
Pulling on a robe, she crept out of the room. She let out a huge breath to calm herself. As soon as she reached the kitchen, she drank a cool glass of water. She looked around the kitchen for ideas on what to fix. She was not just feeding three, she was feeding four. She finally decided on breakfast skillets made from scratch. She would follow that up with toast and juice. She had to hurry. If she doddled, Bo would want to do something that wasn't on the Doctor's agenda today.
Bo had already huffed when Lauren left bed the night before to put their suitcases into her car. She could have called for a Royal Hummer, but wanted to let the windows down, feel the wind and have more private time with Bo. While the meat cooked, she sent a quick test to the Queen to make sure everything they needed was there. She sighed in relief when she told her the dresses, shoes, and rings had arrived. She smiled at her own ring. Perhaps this was the wrong way to go about it, but she was simply returning a surprise for another surprise.
She knew with all of her being that she wanted to marry Bo. She came back for Bo, so she didn't know why she wasn't the one that proposed first. Their talk and kiss on the Camaro was not the same. That was based on Lauren's human life, now that they had forever, she wanted forever. An hour later and everything was ready.
She smiled and pulled out a dinner bell, once she rang it a few times, there on the stairs appeared a sleepy looking Succubus.
"A bell? Really Lauren? Bo pouted.
"Aww my Succubus is hungry and grouchy. Come with me and lets have a nice breakfast in the dining room". Lauren smiled gently pulling Bo along with her.
Bo wiped her eyes and looked at the table. She had rolled over and Lauren was nowhere to be found. That dinner bell was like hearing a rooster in the morning. It got her up, out of bed, and ready to kill.
Lauren pulled a chair out for Bo, feeling bad, but not really feeling bad about how she woke her up.
"Go ahead and eat". Lauren smiled walking around to her own chair. She looked at her own spread and laughed when Bo was devouring hers like she was in an eating contest.
The women made small talk and talking about next to nothing was doing wonders for Lauren's nerves.
"Lauren is something wrong? Bo asked setting her fork down for a minute.
"No. Why do you ask? Lauren smiled.
"I don't know. Your aura is all over the place. It's hard to get an accurate read on you". Bo said picking her fork back up.
"How sweet of you to ask, but really, I'm fine Bo". Lauren said eyeing her as she sipped on her juice. She wanted coffee that wouldn't help with her nervousness.
"Lauren". Bo said softly.
"I'm fine. Really". Lauren winked.
Bo shook her head and began to eat again. Something was off with the Doctor. She was sure she wasn't seeing things. She hoped it wasn't one of those moments when she was sick or experimenting on herself again. But the latter couldn't be true because she hadn't gone into work, and her home lab door has been closed for days.
Whatever it was, the Succubus decided for once, that she would swallow her concern, and wait for Lauren to tell her what was really going on.
"So I was thinking we should go and see Aife, and Isabeau today". Lauren said before taking her next bite of food.
"Yeah we should. I have some questions about my pregnancy". Bo said quietly.
"Are you not feeling well? Lauren asked worriedly.
"No. No. I'm fine. Just wondering if what I have been feeling from the babies is normal. Because holy crap, they have been kicking the shit out of me". Bo smiled.
Lauren sighed in relief. "Yeah. They should be able to help you with that".
"Yep". Bo smiled again. She was still seeing something in Lauren's aura but still wasn't going to push the issue.
"We can leave as soon as we shower and dress". Lauren said squeezing Bo's hand. She almost felt terrible about what the kids were doing to Bo, but as a Doctor she had faith that everything would turn out just fine with them.
"That would be great". Bo said as she continued eating her food. She wanted to get every bite that she could. Lauren still had her on a ghost of a diet, so she was so touched with the burgers, and pizza the other day.
Lauren stared at Bo for a minute and went back to her own food. She smiled knowing this should keep Bo and the babies content for a good long day. Her girlfriend in the morning and her wife by night. She just hoped Bo would agree to marry her today. She didn't want to wait another day or another week. She wanted them married today.
Queen Isabeau's castle.
"This place is to be spotless, not a crumb or speck of dust better be found when I make my final inspections later. Is that understood? Queen Isabeau asked.
"Yes My Queen". The Royal Maids and Butlers answered.
"Good. Dismissed". Queen Isabeau nodded.
She watched them file out quickly and sat back on her throne.
"My Queen". Bruce bowed before her.
"Is everything else ready? Queen Isabeau asked.
"Yes my Queen. The flowers will be set out this afternoon. The tables and chairs have been covered up to keep the birds away". Bruce answered.
"And Cedric? Queen Isabeau asked.
"He will be bathed and dressed before the wedding starts". Bruce answered
"He isn't to be placed with the other guests. He may sit near me though". Queen Isabeau replied.
"Yes My Queen. I understand". Bruce said.
"How is he really doing? I haven't had a chance to check on him again". Queen Isabeau said.
"He's doing rather well. That healing Fae I found took care of the majority of his wounds". Bruce answered.
"Excellent. I suspect Lauren and Bo will be arriving soon. Make sure there are people out there to escort them in, but away from the courtyard". Queen Isabeau said.
"They have already been giving strict instructions". Bruce nodded.
"And Kenzi? Queen Isabeau asked.
"Princess Aife has been taking her around in circles". Bruce chuckled.
"Very good". Queen Isabeau laughed. When Aife played Hide and Seek as a child, she would be lost for hours, so she had no doubt she would make Kenzi think that they were lost.
"I am going to start making my rounds. If anything comes up, alert me immediately". Queen Isabeau said standing up and walking down the small staircase.
"Yes My Queen". Bruce bowed as the Succubus walked out of her throne room. Once she crossed the threshold, ten Royal Maids hurried in to clean it. There were nearly 100 on staff today, just getting the castle ready for the ceremony. The Queen left nothing to chance.
Queen Isabeau actually put on latex gloves as she walked down the long corridor, checking table after table. These tables would be taking part in the ceremony, so she wanted to check them first.
She smiled at the thought of those kids. Still so young and had always been ridiculously in love and she was going to make sure they were really ready for this because she was putting her name and reputation on the line by marrying them. She had married many in her younger days, and most of those marriages flopped.
Thousands of year old marriages turned into one sided love marriages. She didn't want that for Lauren or Bo. But by their auras, she could tell that love was there, but there was just not enough certainty yet. As Queen and more importantly as a grandmother, she wanted this to be right. Them to be right.
"Clean! Clean! Clean! Queen Isabeau screamed and heard her own echo trailing down the hall.
Aife
Aife had woken up and ran through her morning reports. Once she was done, she walked the halls of the castle. The Royal Maids and Butlers had stopped doing whatever they were doing to bow to her. She waved them off as she neared the end of the hall.
"Has she been fed? Aife asked.
"Yes Your Highness". Sterling answered.
She had taken Kenzi around to parts of the castle that Kenzi never knew existed. Aife had left Kenzi in the secret room after she started whining about being hungry. So she escorted her back and ordered breakfast for her. Then she was able to look over her reports and buy the staff a little time to get everything cleaned up. Kenzi was a nosy ass, she would likely spill everything. That is, if she knew anything.
The whole crew had been hush, hush. The Queen had threatened to cut out tongues of anyone that told about Lauren's secret, personally. Aife loved this side of her mother the most. She could be ruthless and still look like the most innocent person in the group.
"Take this into her. This should keep her entertained for hours". Aife laughed.
"Your Highness, you want her drunk before the...
"Finish that and you will be gumming the rest of your feeds". Aife said seriously.
"But she will be drunk Your Highness". Sterling said softly.
"She will be sober in time. Now stay here and don't let her out, until I come for her". Aife said turning to leave. She wasn't about to baby-sit Kenzi all day, not when her friends Jose Cuervo and Jim Beam were present.
Hours had passed and Bo and Lauren were dressed and on the road. Bo insisted on driving since Lauren or the Royal Guards had been driving her or them everywhere.
Lauren's phone beeped and she checked her messages. The latest one read "We're just waiting on you now". She smiled at the thought and the butterflies in her stomach were at it was sure that Bo didn't know the new depths of her love for her. But after today, she would have some clues. Clues that not even the most dense person could miss. She wasn't saying Bo is dense, but there was still so many holes in their relationship. Doubts. But today should put most of those to rest.
For every car she passed. For every stop and turn she took. Bo thought of nothing but the woman next to her. She thought about that awful drive home with Lauren limp in the seat. Her Succubus was dying on the inside to reach out and take someone's Chi, but Bo was too overcome to relent control to even her.
Lauren was cold in Bo's arms. Cold in the bath tub. Cold in her bed. No matter how many times she scrubbed Lauren with her blankets, she couldn't warm her up. Her lips were cold against Bo's chaste kisses. The blonde's beautiful eyes couldn't look at Bo like she was looking at her. Adoration. Love. Every definition of affection.
Then the guilt hit and she collapsed on Lauren's body. The guilt of being downstairs, when Lauren needed her upstairs. She wasn't a Doctor, but she was Hades daughter. Capable of lifting the dead. Couldn't she also prevent death too? Push Chi into Lauren before she took her last breath? She would never though because she wasn't there. Bo sobbed a bit and wiped her eyes.
"Bo are you ok? Lauren asked.
"Yes I'm fine. I was just thinking". Bo said squeezing Lauren's hand.
Lauren nodded. But she was sure Bo was thinking of them. She always had that glow on her face when she was worried about something, namely Lauren. Deciding not to push so they wouldn't fight on this day, Lauren squeezed Bo's hand back.
The women drove the rest of the way in silence. Nothing between them but squeezing each other's hands every now and then.
Finally pulling up to the castle. Bo and Lauren were greeted by several Royal Guards. One helped Bo out of the car, while Lauren was helped out of the other side. Lauren rounded the car and took Bo's hand as they walked towards the stairs and carefully climbed each one. Lauren watched every step that Bo took, and smiled when the Succubus blushed from all of the attention.
"Welcome Your Highness and Dr. Lewis". Bruce bowed once they reached the first entrance.
"Bruce, I asked you not to do that". Bo laughed.
"I'm sorry Your Highness". Bruce smiled.
"Did we come at the wrong time? Lauren asked.
"Of course not, I saw your car headed this way and stood here to greet the two of you". Bruce smiled again ushering the women inside.
Bo noticed the place smelled like all kinds of cleaning solutions. But shook it off as the Queen having them scrub the place down.
The trio walked silently until they reached the Queen's throne room.
"Isabeau. Lauren. Please come in". The Queen smiled, and held her arms out to Bo, first. Then she hugged Lauren. Briefly whispering in her ear.
"Grandmother can we talk? Bo asked.
"Is something wrong? Queen Isabeau asked.
"I just haven't been feeling all that great. The babies seem a lot more ferocious. I was just wondering if that was normal? Bo asked.
"Has this ferocious been painful? Queen Isabeau asked.
"No. Just a lot of kicking and moving". Bo replied taking a glass of water from Bruce.
"They are just growing sweetie. That is nothing to worry about". Queen Isabeau smiled gently.
"Bo I could have told you that". Lauren said gently.
"I know. I know. But I figured why not ask another Succubus. Especially the one that gave birth to mom". Bo sighed gently.
"Are my ears ringing? Aife laughed entering the room.
"Hi mom". Bo smiled with embarrassment.
"Hello yourself. And hello Lauren! Aife beamed.
"My Queen a word? Bruce called gently.
"Of course. Excuse me for a minute ladies". Queen Isabeau smiled stepping out of the room.
"The dresses are ready, and I have the ring right here". Bruce said handing the Queen a small box.
"Has everyone arrived? Queen Isabeau asked.
"Yes My Queen. They have been seated and have been thoroughly instructed to keep quiet. The courtyard is beautiful, just like you wanted it". Bruce replied. Thick candles lined the rows of chairs and the Queen's throne.
"Then we need to get them dressed and out there, and I just figured out how. I will speak with Lauren for a minute. Make sure we have plenty of maids to help Isabeau get dressed. They are not to tell her anything, but dress her". Queen Isabeau explained.
"Yes My Queen". Bruce bowed as he walked away.
"So Aife...Bo has questions about her pregnancy. Since every situation is different and you had her, perhaps you can answer some of her questions". Queen Isabeau said entering the room. She knew she had already answered Bo's main question but she needed her distracted long enough for her to have a word with Lauren.
"Oooo grandbaby questions. Do ask. Do ask! Aife beamed. She walked over to Bo and gently rubbed her stomach.
"Mom quit it. That tickles". Bo blushed and smiled.
"You can talk to Bo, while I will talk to Lauren. To tell her what she needs to watch out for". Queen Isabeau nodded. Aife smiled again, but not for the reasons Bo thought.
"Come Isabeau. Let me give you the 411 on all things regarding a Succubus baby". Aife laughed as she pulled Bo into a far corner of the room.
"Now that they are busy, I just wanted to tell you that everything is ready. The dresses are in separate rooms. I have Bo's ring right here". Queen Isabeau said patting her hand.
Lauren gasped. This was it. This was her surprise and she couldn't back down now. Not with everything and everyone the Queen had working on it and everyone of their guests sitting quietly outside. She assumed the last part because she could tell a lot of people had been there by the perfumes and colognes circling in the air.
"What...what do I do now? Lauren asked.
"Easy Lauren. I can tell you are too nervous to start it off, so I will". Queen Isabeau smiled.
The Queen turned to Aife and nodded that she was done talking to Lauren. Aife laughed and answered Bo's last question. Simple questions of when and how often the babies would kick. How often the moved around. Easy shit, Aife thought. But holy crap if Bo didn't kick the hell out of her when she was pregnant, she laughed at that thought too.
"I've ordered almost the entire colony here to make a major announcement. And since this will be a Royal announcement. I suggest we all adjourn and get dressed". Queen Isabeau said.
"What kind of announcement? Bo asked.
"One you need to put on a dress for. Now the Royal Maids will help Bo dress, while the rest of us dress". Queen Isabeau said.
"But grandmother...". Bo said.
"I will see you all in the courtyard in 50 minutes". Queen Isabeau said and left the room before Bo could object any further.
"Come with me Lauren. I can answer some of your questions, while we dress". Aife said pulling the Doctor out of the room.
"Mom! Lauren! Bo screamed.
"Right this way Your Highness. The Queen has ordered us to make sure that you look your best, even your hair must be done". A Royal Maid said stepping forward. She had never seen Bo before but knew who she was. She was dressed as a maid but was really a seamstress, brought in to make sure Bo's dress didn't need any kind of adjustments. The Succubus wasn't that big, so she doubted that she would need to do anything but stand by and watch the maids, and stylists do their thing.
Bo groaned and walked into the next room with them. This sucked. She thought they were coming to hang out with the Queen and Aife. Not to take part in a ceremony she wasn't really interested in. She found it odd that Lauren couldn't dress in the same room as her, but understood that she was bigger and she would need all kinds of help getting dressed. She could barely put her hair into a ponytail without stressing that moving he arms from one direction to the other wasn't hurting the babies.
"So what's really going on? Lauren asked.
"Simply put. We are going to make this out to be a royal gathering. Mom will get Bo to come out and stand in front of the throne. She will play it off as a big and important gathering of the Royals. That's when you will step in and convince her to marry you today". Aife explained briefly.
Lauren nodded but nearly threw up at the same time. She was much more nervous now. Her mouth was running dry and she couldn't think of a single thing that would calm her down but Bo. Then the butterflies in her stomach, fluttered again.
"Relax Lauren. You can do this. If it helps, just look at Bo and keep your eyes on her as you talk. I will handle everything else and any other distractions, should they arise, but I doubt it". Aife laughed.
"What about Kenzi? Bo would want her here". Lauren said looking around.
"That little shit is here, but trust me, she won't interrupt a damn thing". Aife laughed.
"I can do this. I can do this". Lauren whispered closing her eyes.
"You're not the only one not getting help. We have a seamstress and maids for you too. There is one for Bo, but she thinks the woman is just a maid. So we got this, and so do you". Aife smiled.
"Ok. Ok". Lauren said taking a ton of deep breaths.
"Now I have to go and get dressed. But don't worry. I won't outshine the bride". Aife beamed.
Lauren nodded and took a few more deep breaths before she was joined by the seamstress and maids.
"Don't worry Dr. Lewis. We have already seen Bo and trust us, you picked the right day for this". Susan smiled.
"Are you the seamstress? Lauren asked.
"Yes. Now let's get you dressed. We have about forty minutes left". Susan answered nodding for the maids to start.
Lauren nodded and started undressing. She took a deep breath for every movement she made on her own and the ones she was instructed to. This was it. In less than two hours, she would be marrying Bo. That is, if Bo agreed to marry her today. But she didn't believe the Succubus would say no. Yes she's still pregnant but that shouldn't stop them, just like going on their honeymoon, shouldn't stop them. Lauren's a Doctor, she knows what a pregnant woman can and cannot do. Even a pregnant Succubus.
Aife had dressed and looked herself over a few times before checking in with Cameron. His live feeds of the courtyard was up and running without any break in receptions. She smiled at the thought. That bastard was going to see his worst nightmare in pure high definition. At least that was what she had been told when she purchased the equipment days ago.
She was now ready to check on Kenzi. She didn't like feeling like a baby-sitter, but for her baby, she would do it. Especially since she had her own fun already planned.
She walked to the nearest window overlooking the courtyard and stared out at the crowd. Everyone was still seated and nobody was moving besides the occasional word to the person sitting next to them. She almost teared up. This was Bo's big day and she didn't even know it yet. But she had better not blow it because Aife had longed for this day, even if she didn't believe in love herself. She saw it in them, and that was enough for her.
Besides, she was going to be a grandmother soon. She laughed at the thought of chasing two baby Succubus around the castle or wherever they were. They were going to have the Fae world at their fingertips and the best of the best at their feet. They wouldn't be sleeping in funky dungeons. Chained to any walls. Cast out because they were avenging the death of a loved one. With Bo's blood, they would be able to save the dying or revive the already dead.
Snapping out of her thoughts, she turned to collect Kenzi. The girl better be up and dressed. She had no idea where Dagny was, but that wasn't her concern. Bo and Lauren were.
"Does it have to be a white dress? Bo asked as she was seated in a chair and a stylist was doing her hair.
"The Queen has ordered that you be dressed in white. We have to obey her requests". Tricia responded from Bo's feet. She had been making some minor adjustments to her dress as she was having her hair done. She didn't want Bo to fall as she tried to walk in the long strapless dress.
Bo bit her lip. She was ready to get out of that seat.
"I am done with you Dr. Lewis". Susan smiled.
"I am almost done with her hair too". Marcia said.
"I could have done my own hair". Lauren smiled.
"Nonsense. The Queen insisted that you were to relax while we did all of the work". Marcia smiled as she finished up.
"It's time Dr. Lewis". Bruce said knocking on the door.
Lauren nearly swallowed her tongue as her nervousness settled in again. Just look at Bo. Just look at Bo. Just look at Bo. She mumbled over and over again.
Lauren finally made it to the door and waited as Susan opened it for her.
"Bo...where is Bo? Lauren asked.
"The Queen is getting her. She also told me to tell you to relax". Bruce smiled waving for Lauren to walk ahead of him.
Both Lauren and Bo had been escorted to the courtyard. Per the Queen's instructions, Bo was to be standing in front of the Queen as she sat on her throne.
"You know the rest? Lauren asked as she turned to Bruce.
"Yes Dr. Lewis I do. See you on the other side". Bruce bowed. She was about to become royalty and they would be bowing to her as if she was Bo, or the other McCorrigans. He had seen the way Bo looked at Lauren and how Lauren looked at Bo. There was no way Bo was going to say no to being married today.
"What's going on? Kenzi asked from the back.
"Just follow me". Aife said as she walked forward. The guests stood and bowed to her as she past them. They did not however, bow to Kenzi.
Kenzi looked around. There was Fae everywhere. Some she knew, some she had never seen before. Some looked damn near scary just in the eyes. No horror flick she ever watched had so much evil in one setting.
"On your feet, for Queen Isabeau and Princess Isabeau! Bruce screamed.
"I would tell you all to sit down, but some of you don't look like you could get back up again. Which is no skin off of my ass". Queen Isabeau said.
Aife shook her head in fits of laughter.
"Stand right here Your Highness". Bruce said as he walked Bo to stand right in front of the Queen's throne.
Queen Isabeau nodded after noticing Lauren in the back of the room.
"Where is Lauren? Bo asked.
"She said she had to run to the car and get her camera". Aife answered.
"You were all summoned here before me and before my daughter and granddaughter for a special royal announcement. I will advise you to keep quiet until I have instructed you otherwise, and that won't be for awhile". Queen Isabeau said. She gently nodded towards Lauren to proceed.
"Grandmother no offense but can we get on with it? Bo asked. She was already tired of standing there. It made her self conscious standing there in front of people she didn't know. It was probably her hormones, but still it was a little embarrassing.
"And now for the announcement. Dr. Lewis, you may proceed". Queen Isabeau smiled.
"What? Lauren? What does Lauren have to do with this? What does she have to announce that couldn't just be told to us? Bo asked looking around.
"Don't move Isabeau". Aife said gently turning her daughter back around to face the throne.
"Bo. I love you. I have loved every minute since the day I met you". Lauren said walking down the aisle.
"Lauren...". Bo sobbed wiping her eyes.
"Listen to me ok? Lauren asked as she had finally reached Bo and took her hands.
"Ok". Bo sobbed again.
"That night I was in our bed dying. On one hand, I wanted you to come for me, on the other hand I didn't want you to watch me die. But then when I took my last breath, I managed to turn my head and look at our picture that was sitting on the nightstand. It was the last one we took together before that night. After I died, I felt like I had given up without giving you a chance to fight for me with me. Well I am fighting for us now with you. I want you to fight for us now. Right now. By marrying me. I want to marry you right here in front of everyone. In front of everyone that loves us. Everyone that hates us. I want the world to see that you are my world. My life. My love". Lauren explained tearfully.
"But...but Grandmother said there was an announcement to be made...". Bo said.
"This is Lauren's announcement. She planned all of this for you Isabeau". Queen Isabeau said.
Bo burst into tears, as Bruce stepped forward with a box of tissues. She had no idea Lauren was even thinking of getting married so soon after she proposed. To do it like this, in front of everyone. To have her grandmother, and mother in on it. Even Kenzi was here, knowing the shit they were going through with her. Lauren wanted her here for this. For Bo. Bo had never felt more love in her life, than she was feeling at this very moment.
"Yes. I will marry you. Right here. Right now. ". Bo whispered as she held Lauren's head in her hands. Both women's faces were flooding with tears.
"Bruce". Queen Isabeau said.
"Yes My Queen". Bruce said stepping forward with more tissues.
The guests whispered as they watched the women try compose themselves.
"Mom can you be my Maid of Honor? If it wasn't for you and grandmother, I wouldn't have the chance to marry Lauren". Bo said crying her eyes out.
"I would be honored sweetie". Aife smiled.
"I won't be needing this". Lauren said handing Aife a camera.
"Neither will I. Kenzi take the pictures". Aife said pulsing Kenzi's hand as she handed her the camera. The young girl couldn't do anything but obey. Worked for Aife because she wouldn't be causing any mischief until she removed the thrall, and that wouldn't be for hours now.
"Now I could babble on and on with the traditional royal wedding protocols. But this is not my day, it is theirs. I will let them speak their own minds, and you are all to give them your utmost attention. The Royal Guards will be taking pictures, just as Kenzi will. Other than that, there is to be absolute silence. Is that understood? Queen Isabeau asked walking down from her throne.
"Yes My Queen! The guests answered.
The women turned their attention back to each other, and looked like they were going to pass out from the butterflies in their stomachs.
"Into this Fae estate these two persons present come now to be joined. If any one can show just cause why they may not be lawfully joined together, let them speak now or forever hold their peace". Queen Isabeau said.
Both Bo and Lauren thought of Kenzi, but she was silent. Aife laughed.
"Who gives this woman to be married to Princess Isabeau?
"I do". Aife said seriously.
"Very well. You may proceed'. Queen Isabeau smiled.
"You can go first". Lauren whispered.
"No. You". Bo said tearfully.
"Ladies we're waiting". Aife laughed.
Bo took a deep breath and released it to her side. "Before I met you, I was a killer. I didn't know what she was. The minute your hand grazed my back, I knew what we both felt, tenderness and love. My eyes flashing blue, and back to brown told me that, it was time to stop running. Because we both knew then, that we had found a family. We found love. We didn't know what that really was either until our lips touched yours. My Succubus had always been taking people's life with reckless abandon. But with you, she stopped. I never understood it, I assumed it was your injections but I always felt like it was more. I was always afraid that I would kill you. But killing you would kill me and her. We would be lost in this world again. You center us. You anchor us. As I stand right here and now in front of you. In front of all them. The only time I want to run again is to run into your arms every time that I have been away from you. Run to our bed, that is like a protective shield of our love. When I'm in the deepest sleep, your love wakes me. Wakes me to another day. Another chance to try and get this right. So this is among my many vows to love you with all that we both are, and love our children just as much, because they are as big of a gift to me, as your love is". Bo finished as her face was soaked again. She choked up again as she put Lauren's wedding ring on her hand.
Lauren bit her lip and wiped Bo's tears with the pads of her thumbs. She smiled and cried at the same time. Bruce handed them both a glass of water, and stood waiting for them to hand them back.
Lauren gently sighed and waited until the water took affect long enough for her to be able to talk.
Queen Isabeau snapped her fingers when she heard someone talking.
"I will get them, My Queen". Cedric said walking to the back of the room where the disobedient talkers were sitting.
Queen Isabeau nodded and smiled. Her old friend was well back on his way to a full recovery and had been stubborn about staying in bed, once he heard Bo and Lauren were going to marry. Lauren turned back to Bo.
"When I met you, I was stuck. Stuck in a cold and protective shield that I had built to survive the long, boring days and nights, I had spent with the Light Fae. I thought there would never be a cure for Nadia. Never a cure for my cold heart. I had gone so long without another's touch, unless I was touching a patient to treat them. Then I touched you. I won't lie and say that I didn't feel a pulse coming from your back. I think that was her responding to me. Then I looked into your eyes. You looked so confident and yet so lost. But I was happy. Happy that you had found me. I never wanted to leave your side, but they had other plans. Plans that would never include a human Doctor mingling with a Succubus. But you were more than that. You were a friend. A friend that fought with me to try and cure Nadia. A friend that stood quietly and patiently by as I grieved for her. But we both knew we could never be friends. You could read Auras and they would blind you. But you blind me every time that I look at you. There is hope in your eyes. There is love in your eyes. When I took my last breath calling out your name, I never thought I would speak it again. Then Aife and Queen Isabeau showed up...I'm sorry, it kind of slipped out". Lauren said and blushed turning to the Queen.
"It is quite alright. Proceed Dr". Queen Isabeau said clearing he throat.
"Right". Lauren said clearing her own throat and turned back to Bo.
"They found me and brought me back. I had a choice to stay exactly where I was. But I didn't want to. I wanted to come back to you. To come back for us. We had so many fights and misunderstandings before, but none of that matters now. As I stand here in front of you, marrying you, I know there is nothing that will ever come between us again but air. I love you Bo. My love for you is so much that my heart can barely contain it. I will love you forever just as I did back then. This is my vow to you, and to them. I can't think of a better person to carry my children, because they get to see what I see on the inside of you. A good, loving, kind and beautiful woman. I can't wait to call you my wife when this is all over". Lauren concluded through tears. Bo shook her tears to clear her eyes, as Lauren put the ring on Bo's finger.
All four women cleared their throats as the Queen raised her hand over the Succubus and Doctor.
Queen Isabeau stepped towards them prepared to speak.
"Princess Isabeau, do you take Dr. Lauren Lewis for your lawful Fae and wedded wife, to live together under the Fae laws of matrimony? Will you love, honor, comfort, and cherish her from this day forward, forsaking all others, keeping only unto her for as long as you both shall live? The Queen asked.
"I do". Bo said tearfully as she squeezed Lauren's hands.
"Dr. Lauren Lewis, do you take Princess Isabeau McCorrigan for your lawful Fae and wedded wife, to live together under the Fae laws of matrimony? Will you love, honor, comfort, and cherish her from this day forward, forsaking all others, keeping only unto her for as long as you both shall live? The Queen asked again.
"I do". Lauren smiled as tears fell again.
Queen Isabeau smiled. "Then I shall not keep the both of you nervous any further. I Queen Isabeau McCorrigan, do by declare this marriage as binding and nobody other than me shall ever dissolve it. These two stand before you now as Princess Isabeau McCorrigan-Lewis and Princess Lauren Lewis-McCorrigan. I now pronounce them Her and Her Royal Highness of the McCorrigan clan". Queen Isabeau said.
The room laughed after Bo gasped.
"Shhhh". Queen Isabeau said raising her hand. The crowd grew quiet again.
"Dr. Lewis. You may kiss your bride". Queen Isabeau smiled again.
Bo smiled as Lauren lunged for her. The women stood there, their tongues fighting for dominance. Lauren pushed Bo backwards a bit.
"Ummm ladies". Aife laughed.
"Sorry. Sorry". Lauren blushed pulling away from Bo.
The brides jumped when the Royal Trumpets sounded and music started to play.
Lauren and Bo turned to walk down the red carpet back towards the castle. The Guests stood clapping as the Queen, Aife, Cedric and Kenzi followed behind.
Bo and Lauren stood on the steps waving to the guests. Both still looked stunning. Dark and blonde hair fell around their faces, respectively, as they wore matching white dresses.
"Bow". Bruce said standing in front of them. As he watched Two Royal Guards put their Royal Tiaras on.
"Shouldn't we have done this before? Bo asked.
"That would have given away my surprise". Lauren laughed squeezing Bo's hand.
"Well that's true. If I would have seen you in a Tiara, I would have suspected something was up". Bo giggled.
"Ladies your reception awaits". Aife said from behind them.
"Lets go eat! Bo said excitedly.
Lauren laughed at Bo as they walked down halls and halls of red carpeting. Once they entered the Royal Dining Hall. The guests clapped again.
"Soo since this is our reception, lets dance Dr. Lewis". Bo smiled.
Lauren cleared her throat.
"Ok. Ok. Dr. Lewis-McCorrigan". Bo laughed.
"Now you're talking Isabeau McCorrigan-Lewis". Lauren smiled as they immediately hit the dance floor.
"How you like this dog? Aife laughed standing in front of Bo and Lauren dancing as she looked into a camera.
Bo laughed and shook her head.
"Are you ok? Lauren asked gently.
"I'm fine my wife". Bo laughed.
"Holy crap. We're married". Lauren blushed and she buried her head in her hand and rested it on Bo's shoulder.
"That we are. Hey...are you ok with the names? Bo asked.
"Of course. This way we share each other's names". Lauren smiled as she gently spun Bo around.
"Time to cut the cake! Aife laughed as she saw the table carrying the cake being pushed into the center of the room.
"Oooo cake! Bo smiled like a kid in a candy store.
"Not too much Bo". Lauren laughed.
"Come on, it's our wedding day! Bo half pouted.
"I was kidding sweetie". Lauren laughed picking up a knife to cut it.
"Now cut yours". Bo smiled taking her piece from Lauren.
Lauren's hand shook from nerves and knowing what was coming.
"Ready? Bo asked gently.
"Go! Lauren said as that smashed their respective pieces of cake into each other's mouths. Bo's eyes flashed blue when she heard Lauren moan from the taste.
"Did you want to say anything? Aife asked.
"No this is their night. Let them run it". Queen Isabeau laughed enjoying how Lauren and Bo were catering to each other.
Aife smiled as she looked over at Kenzi. As they all walked back into the castle. She pulsed her again. It would wear off soon, but not before Bo and Lauren enjoyed their reception. The other guests took to the dance floor and the reception was in full swing hours later.
"Do you want to go on our honeymoon later tonight? Lauren asked.
"As much as I would love to have you all to myself, and do any and everything to you, I want to wait until after the babies are born. That way, mom and grandmother can watch them and know exactly what they need". Bo said softly looking into Lauren's eyes.
"We should find a way to stock up on some Chi so they can feed while we are gone". Lauren said.
"Yeah find a way to put it inside a bunch of baby bottles". Bo smiled.
"That's brilliant Bo! Lauren smiled wide.
"Hey I learned from the best". Bo smiled back.
"Speaking of which. I think they need to feed now". Laruen smiled biting her lip.
"I thought you'd never say that". Bo said as she captured Lauren's lips. Not even caring who was looking. Their lips never parted and their eyes were closed so the other guests couldn't see what they were doing.
"This is going to be a beautiful life". Lauren smiled after Bo had pulled back.
"It always was when you came back to me". Bo smiled as she pulled Lauren into her and started slowly swaying with her. They stared at each other just dancing to whatever song Aife played next.
Dyson
The wolf growled over and over again. Those bastards were playing Bo and Lauren's wedding over and over, hours after it had ended. They even showed them dancing at their reception.
It was unfair. Bo was his. Lauren never deserved to be her Queen. But he deserved to be her King. He had done everything for Bo. Even defy Trick at times. Trick! The Blood King would never stand for this foolishness. They were making a mockery of the McCorrigan name. He thought of Trick more, and more. He would fix this. He would find a way to return the McCorrigan name to it's full glory. And nothing they could do would stop him.
He growled again and this time Cameron responded with his own. The sound made Dyson shiver. He swallowed hard when realized what Cameron is. A shifter. A lion shifter. He slammed his head into the ground, hoping it would end the nightmare of this day flashing on 6 monitors that hung on the walls in the tomb.
He closed his eyes and begged sleep to take him for the rest of the night.
