Hey guys. ^_^'' Look it's the same excuses: Laziness and being busy. In fact I've been so busy that I just realized that my birthday is in 9 days, 9 DAYS! :DDDDDDD Hurray for me! :P Anywho enjoy Chapter 25 b(even if it's achingly short)!
As the guardians nose-dived after Pitch he turned back to see Bunny launch egg bombs at him. He zigzagged to avoid them, disappearing into cave. They landed and looked around cautiously for any sign of Pitch. Seeing no sign of him North lowered his blades.
"He's gone." He sighs.
"Ok you were right about Pitch." Bunny mutters as he sat with Sandy and North.
Jack crouched next to Tooth, who was sitting on her knees staring sadly at one of the containers of baby teeth. "I'm sorry about the fairies."
Tooth looked up, smiling softly. "You should have seen them. They put up such a fight."
Jack stared at Baby Tooth before knotting his eye brows. "Why would Pitch take the teeth?"
"It's not the teeth he wanted.' Tooth sighs sadly. 'It's the memories inside them."
"What do you mean?" Jack asks as he stares down at the container.
"That's why we collect the teeth, Jack. They hold the most important memories of childhood." Tooth says, letting her wings lift her as she moved to hover in front of the mural of her and children with teeth held between them.
Jack walked over the water, ice appearing before his foot even came close to the liquid.
"My fairies and I watch over them. And when someone needs to remember what's important, we help them.' Tooth explains softly. 'We had everyone's here. Yours too."
"I'm sorry, Jack.' Tooth whispers, eyes downcast. 'If I had known you had amnesia I would have talked to you sooner; and you wouldn't have gone though 300 years of not knowing who you were."
Jack put a hand on her feathery shoulder and gave her a smile that showed his teeth, hoping it might cheer her up slightly. "It's fine Tooth, it's not your fault. Sure if I had remembered soon it might have been nice, but then I might not have help you guys with Pitch and became a Guardian. So I think me waiting a little longer wasn't so bad."
Tooth smiled gently back, feeling a little better even if she still felt a little bad for how she and the others had treated Jack. At least she knew he forgave them, and they would be sure to make it to where they deserved it.
Jack looked at her in confusion. "M-My memories?"
"From when you were young.' Tooth agrees, not seeing the shock on Jack's face. 'Before you became Jack Frost."
Jack took a hesitant step back, eyes wide in surprise and more confusion. "But…I wasn't anyone before I was Jack Frost."
"Of course you were.' Tooth says soothingly. 'We were all someone before we were chosen."
"What?" Jack whispers in denial.
"You should have seen Bunny!" North chuckles in the back ground.
Bunny sticks a finger in the laughing Russian's face threateningly. "Hey, I told you never to mention that!"
Jack grins slyly. "Oh North after this do tell about what Bunny was like before he became the Easter Kangaroo."
"Oh no mates." Bunny growls as North's eyes lit with the same mischievous light that was in Jack's. "Don't even think about it or you'll find eggs in places you'll never want to find."
Both white haired spirits only laughed, Sandy and Tooth giggling quietly in the back of them.
"The night at the pond, I just…I assumed…Are you saying…' Jack's voice lifted from confused to excited. 'I had a life before that? With a home and family?"
Tooth looked deep into Jack's eyes, as if trying to see if he was playing with her. When she found no deceit she asked him softly. "You really don't remember?"
"All these years the answers where right here.' Jack says, eyes lighting up with his new found knowledge. 'If I find my memories then I'll know why I'm here. You have to show me!"
Jack lifted into the air and started to fly off but Tooth's words stopped him.
"I can't Jack, Pitch has them."
He turned around and landed in a crouch, staff pointed at Tooth as he spoke with determination. "Then we have to get them back!"
Tooth watched him before gasping, looking down as a few of her multicolor feathers fluttered to the ground. "Oh no!"
Jack and the others stared at her worriedly.
The mural started to decay, leaving dull cracked paint behind. "The children…we're too late."
"NO!' North shouts defiantly, swing his swords angrily. "No such thing as too late!"
Jack and the others watched as he began pacing, humming in thought to him self.
"Wait, wait wait wait!' North mutters, eyes widening as he grinned. He turned around sharply and pointed at Bunny with his sword, it stopping centimeters from touching the humanoid rabbit's nose; who went cross eyed to stare at it as he leaned back. "Idea!"
"Huh?" Bunny mutters, still looking at the blades warily.
"What is the great Bunnymund scared of some swords?" Jack teases.
Bunny snorts. "I ain't scared but I'm not dumb either mate, I know how well North can handle those sword."
North looked smug while the others rolled their eyes.
North turned to point the swords at each of them. "WE collect the teeth!"
"What?" Tooth asked, dumbfounded.
"We get teeth, children keep believing in you!' North says pointing to Tooth, acting as if it was the easies thing in the world.
"We're talking seven continents and millions of kids!" Tooth counters.
"Give me break.' North says smugly, waving his arm as if to bat away her worries. 'You know how many toys I deliver in one night?"
Bunny stepped forward, warming up to the idea. "And how many eggs I hide in one day?"
Tooth looked at them with growing hope.
North turned to Jack. "And Jack, if you help us we will get your memories back."
Jack lowers him self as he thought it over, but they could tell they already had his answer.
Tooth laughed in surprise and eagerness.
Jack looked the group over, signature crooked grin growing on his lips. "I'm in."
