A/N: Okay guys I really didn't want to leave you guys on that cliffhanger for too long so I wrote this small little chapter to ease your minds. :) And when I say small, I mean small so sorry it's so short but at least you get something. Thank you guys so much for reviewing, you guys make me so happy! Oh and just a warning I am not a doctor nor do I have any real medical knowledge, besides stuff involving psychology so I'm sure that this chapter wont be completely accurate but just pretend that it is. ;) Okay, that's all I got. Hope you guys enjoy!
Disclaimer: I do not own glee.
Dani's POV:
I ran into the house without a second thought. When I got to the room that the scream came from, my heart stopped. Jayden was being held at gunpoint, but she had Santana in her arms with a knife at her throat.
"Santana!" I screamed, police officers holding me back as I tried to lunge for her. She looked terrified and all I wanted to do was take her pain away.
"Oh how nice of you to join us Dani," Jayden spat and I narrowed my eyes, angrier than I have ever been in my life.
"Fuck you! I swear to god I'm going to kill you," I growled and her lips curled up into a sinister smile.
"Try me Dani and you'll lose us both," she said pressing the knife harder against Santana's skin, eliciting a whimper from the latina.
"Jayden, just put down the knife. You have no place to go, it's over Jayden," Detective Pearson said quickly before I could respond.
"You're going to have to take me down before I ever give in," she spat and by now I had tears streaming down my cheeks seeing how broken Santana was.
"Why Jayden? What the hell could you possibly get out of this?" I asked and she switched her gaze back over to me.
"Because I can. And once Santana's out of the picture, you and I can finally be together again," she said and I shook my head.
"Don't you see that you and I were never good for each other? Even if I wasn't with Santana, I would never go back to you," I choked out.
"That's because you don't know what its like to be without her right now, but once she's gone it will all make sense to you I promise," she said and I noticed one of the police officers slowly making his way behind Jayden, who was completely oblivious as she was only focused on me.
"Jayden, if you kill Santana, I will never ever forgive you. I already can't forgive you for what you did to me let alone what you did to Santana," I said, trying to remain calm and keep her engaged long enough for the officer to get close enough to her.
"But Dani, I love you!" she shouted her grip loosening slightly around Santana. "And I know you love me too," she said and I shook my head.
"No, I don't. And I didn't realize it until I met Santana, but I never truly loved you. I didn't know what love was until I met Santana," I said and I saw both Jayden and Santana with tears falling down their cheeks.
I held my breath, waiting for the officer to make his move and then everything started to move in slow motion. I saw the officer grab Jayden's armed hand and pull it away from Santana's neck. I saw Jayden pull Santana down with her as the officer dragged her down to the ground. I saw the other officers rush over next to them all, blocking my view. I heard the struggle and I saw Jayden handcuffed and dragged away. And then I saw the blood. The thick crimson liquid started to pour out of Santana as she lay on her back, clutching her stomach. I screamed at the sight and ran to her side.
"Santana, oh my god baby. Your going to be okay, just stay with me," I breathed out, tears pouring down my face. She grumbled in response as her eyes started to close and her hand started to ease up on her wound. I moved her hand and replaced it with my own, applying as much pressure as I could. Santana groaned at the pain of the pressure, but I kept my hands where they were, knowing that it was the only thing keeping Santana alive. A few minutes later an ambulance had come and we immediately headed for the hospital. When we got to the hospital, I was forced to wait in the waiting room as she was immediately being rushed off to surgery. I watched her get wheeled away, my heart breaking and my mind fearing the worst as I started to collapse, losing the strength I had before. Strong arms caught me before I could fall and Alex dragged me over to a chair before I sobbed uncontrollably into her arms, my body shaking.
"Shh, Dani. Everything is going to be okay," she said trying to comfort me, but it was hopeless. We waited for eight hours, my body still shaking from my uncontrollable sobs, before a doctor came out and made their way over to where I was sitting.
"Ms. Rhodes?" she asked and I nodded before she continued, bracing myself for the worst.
"Santana is still in surgery, but she is still alive," she started and I breathed a small sigh of relief. "But we still have a little ways to go. The stab wound wasn't too serious. Luckily it didn't hit any major organs. I'll give you updates as frequently as I can," she said and I grabbed her in a hug upon hearing the news.
"Thank you," I breathed out and she gave me a small smile before making her way back to the operating room. By now, everybody was here with us. Kurt, Rachel, Blaine, Carter, and of course Alex were all around me, relieved by the update. I sat back down next to Alex who wrapped her arm back around me and layed my head on her shoulder.
"You should get some rest Dani, you look exhausted," she whispered and I shook my head.
"Not until I know she's okay," I replied.
"Dani, you've barely slept in days, you need to get some rest. I promise I'll wake you up when the doctor comes out with the next update," she said and I was going to argue, but I knew I wasn't going to be able to fight off my drowsiness for much longer. After a few minutes, my eyes became heavy, and I drifted off to sleep.
"Dani wake up," Alex said shaking me awake. When I opened my eyes, I saw the doctor from before standing in front of us. I quickly sat up, praying that she had good news.
"Santana's surgery was successful. There were no complications and luckily she only has minor injuries from the stab wound. However, from all of the abuse from before, she does have a large amount of bruises and lacerations covering her body as well as fractured ribs and a broken nose," she said and I felt the relief wash over me upon hearing that she was still alive.
"When can I see her?" I asked, not wanting to be apart from my beautiful fiancée any longer.
"She can't have any visitors until we are sure she is completely stable. But you should be able to see her early tomorrow morning," she said and I nodded my head before thanking her again before she walked away. I looked over at Alex with a huge smile spread across my lips and crushed her in a hug.
"I told you everything would be okay," she said before we broke away and everybody else came over to give me a hug.
"Thank you Alex. You've been such a good friend to me, I don't think I will ever be able to repay you," I said and she gave me a small smile before shrugging.
"Don't sweat it Dani, just knowing that I've helped you is enough for me," she said and I immediately crushed her in another hug.
"So I'm sure you aren't leaving here until you see her, are you?" she asked with a light laugh and I shook my head.
"No, I'm not leaving here until I'm walking out with Santana by my side," I said and she smiled before leading me back over to the chairs and taking a seat.
"Well then, let the wait begin," she said patting the chair next to her and I smiled before taking a seat next to her and laying my head on her shoulder.
And there's chapter 25. Sorry it was so short, but at least I didn't kill off Santana. Lol as if I would ever do that. Thank you everybody for reading and reviewing. Unfortunately this story is quickly coming to an end. Probably only two, maybe three chapters left. :( You guys have truly made this whole experience amazing and I just want to say thank you for giving me a chance and for all of the support. I love you guys!
