The Hidden Laboratory
BANG!
"Ugh." Moaned another zombie as dark essence shrouds it's entire body. The body dissolves, turning into a small group of Shadow Heartless.
"HYAH!" Yelled Red, slashing his keyblade, disposing of two of them.
"FIRE!" Yelled Blue, aiming her staff and nailing another zombie with a fireball. Fire encompasses it's entire body and burns until the zombie turns into ashes.
Chris and Rebecca continue to fire their handguns, shooting most of the zombies in the head, instantly dispatching or causing the Heartless possessing them to show themselves.
"HAH!" Yelled Green, slicing another Shadow Heartless effortlessly with his sword. The remaining Heartless in the area immediately disappear.
"Those Heartless don't seem to tough." Commented Chris.
"The Heartless are those types of creatures that come in different shapes and sizes, those were the most basic ones." Said Green.
"I see, well hopefully those are the only types we find here." Said Chris.
"We should leave, all the noise is bound to have attracted more monsters to this location." Said Rebecca.
They all nod and begin to walk some sort of trail, covered in leaves. They walk for a while now, and notice that water is streaming across the trail way.
"How did this get here?" Asked Rebecca.
"No idea." Said Chris. He turns his head to the left. "It seems to be flowing from that direction."
"Want to investigate?" Asked Red.
"We probably should." Said Chris. "Follow me."
Chris leads the way as the group walks up the small stream of water. The stream is shown to be getting bigger as they walk along it's trail.
"Where do you suppose this water is coming from?" Asked Blue.
"That might answer your question." Said Green. He points his finger to a fancy looking fountain.
"How can that be?" Asked Red. "The water doesn't even seem to be leaping out of the fountain at all."
Rebecca walks up to the fountain and starts to look for something suspicious. She notices a small gray spot on the otherwise white fountain. She places her thumb over it and the spot turns from gray to red.
"Woah!" Said Rebecca.
The fountain immediately stops spraying water, and what sounds like machinery grinding and working begins to encompass the area. The fountain opens up some secret holes, letting water escape to the outside, and a large staircase soon opens, and descends downward into a dark circular walkway.
"There's something you don't see everyday." Said Chris. He looks back at the other members of the group. "Come on."
The sounds of climbing downstairs is heard on the other side of a metal doorway. The knob turns and leads into a strange looking hallway.
"What is this place?" Asked Blue.
"This house." Said Chris shaking his head.
Lights immediately turn on as they walk deeper into the hallway.
"Stay alert, you don't know what freak is going to pop out next?" Said Chris.
They soon reach an elevator, Chris goes up and tries to activate it. He pushes the button, with no results to show for it.
"The elevator is broken." Said Chris.
"Guess we'll have to take the stairs." Said Red.
The group backtracks to the same hallway and try to find another stairway. The only one they find however is the one that leads back above ground.
"Is this all this place has to it?" Asked Blue. "What was the point of coming down here?"
"There has to be another way down, whoever designed this place had to of put another stairwell in case the elevator broke down." Said Rebecca.
"Hey guys, look there!" Said Red. He points to what seems to be a type of generator laying across the wall.
"You think this could be related to the broken elevator?" Asked Chris.
"Only one way to find out. Blue, would you do the honors?" Asked Green.
"My pleasure." Said Blue. "THUNDER!"
She throws a bolt of lightning towards the generator, which begins to glow a series of green and yellow as the machinery inside it begins to work again.
"Let's see if that did anything." Said Chris.
They all head back towards the elevator, Chris once again pushes the button, and it begins to glow red.
"That answers that question." Said Blue.
The elevator door opens, revealing a group of five zombies as the door opens. The zombies moan as they exit and reach their arms out towards them.
Rebecca and Chris waste no time shooting all of them in the head, the zombies proceed to fall to the ground dead.
"How long were those guys in there?" Asked Red.
"Who knows." Said Rebecca.
All five of them enter into the elevator and Chris presses yet another button. The elevator door closes and proceeds to head downward. The elevator stops and then opens to reveal yet another long hallway. The group exits the hallway, and Rebecca immediately takes notice of some strange red and white umbrella looking symbol.
"Umbrella!?" Asked Rebecca.
"Why is this here?" Asked Chris. "Was there an Umbrella facility underneath this house the entire time?"
The three Dex Holders look at each other for a moment and then turn their heads back to Chris and Rebecca.
"What's Umbrella?" Asked Red.
"You really are from another world." Said Chris.
"Umbrella is this huge company specializing in pharmaceuticals, at least that's supposed to be the case." Said Rebecca.
"Could...Could this whole situation have something to do with Umbrella?" Asked Chris.
"Let's keep going, who knows what else we might find down here." Said Rebecca.
The group then proceeds to walk down the hallway, past a dark and empty one. A pair of red eyes glows from the hallway.
The group walk down towards another doorway. Chris opens it and finds an empty room leading to another doorway. On the cieling, there appears to be an air vent.
The group approaches the doorway, Chris tries opening it but the door won't budge.
"Locked. Just our luck." Said Chris.
"There has to be a key to this door lying around somewhere." Said Rebecca.
A slight tap is heard from the air vent. Everybody looks up, and the air vent is slammed open.
"HISSSS!" Hissed the new monster, resembling that of a humanoid insect. It has two black claws on the top part of it's hands, which the monster wastes no time in using.
"FIRE!" Yelled Blue. The creature is then nailed and flung to the floor by the fireball. It jumps back up and jumps towards the cieling.
Rebecca and Chris take aim and shoot at the monster, none of the bullets hit as it crawls across the cieling.
"This thing is fast!" Said Chris.
The monster drops it's upper body down and tries slashing at both Chris and Rebecca. Red wastes no time in whacking the monster with the Keyblade.
The monster hisses in retaliation, before Blue strikes it with another Thunder spell. The monster drops down, it's body sparking with electricity.
"Sheesh, what is that thing?" Asked Blue.
"I don't know, but whatever it was ain't going to be giving us anymore trouble." Said Green.
"Come on, let's go find that key." Said Chris.
They leave the room and proceed to backtrack back to the dark and empty hallway. They walk downwards and find yet another doorway. Chris opens the door and they enter into yet another hallway, only this one seems to have a fork in the road. The group walks up to the fork and find that both sides contain a couple of zombies each.
"So there are more zombies down here." Said Chris.
"How should we approach this?" Asked Red.
"Same way we always had with these things." Said Chris.
BANG! BANG!
The zombies in the left side moan miserably as they fall face first into the ground.
"Come on." Said Chris. The group proceeds to head left and opens the door. More zombies are shown to be in the room.
"HYAH!" Yelled Red, slashing one of the zombies with his Keyblade. Another zombie manages to grab a hold of him and tries biting him straight in the neck.
"No you don't!" Said Green as he kicks the zombie off of Red. That zombie crashes into two more zombies, all of which fall backwards.
"Weird, none of the zombies down here seem to be possessed by Heartless." Said Blue.
"Don't push our luck, let's try keeping it that way." Said Green. Green immediately slashes another zombie, dispatching it.
Chris and Rebecca reload their guns and fire, dispatching two more each. Red slashes another zombie with his Keyblade, dispatching that one. All of the zombies in the room are soon disposed of.
"Hey guys, I found a key!" Said Blue, checking a desk behind all the dead zombies. "The tag on it says machine room."
"That other doorway at the other end of the hall didn't seem to have a door knob. So it's probably for that empty room where we encountered that man bug." Said Rebecca.
"Let's see if it is." Said Chris.
The group walks out of the room and disposes of the other two zombies in the hallway, and leave the immediate area.
Meanwhile, in some other part of the laboratory, Heartless are shown to be swarming some room filled to the brim with tall, glass cylindrical tubes filled with some green culture fluid.
"I see...this is very interesting. So, our little Air Force pilots aren't exactly pilots at all, just a few tikes with supernatural powers." Called out Wesker's voice. Wesker himself is shown to be standing in front of yet another glass tube. This glass tube however, contains something aside from green culture fluid.
"Hm hm hm. And the one they call Red, he is your biggest concern?" Asked Wesker.
The Shadows jump up in the air or wiggle their antennae in response.
"Well, don't you worry. I'll see to it that him and his merry band, along with the rest of my targets are disposed of, in exchange for giving both me and my masterpiece here your power!" Said Wesker, whose body immediately begins to brim with dark energy.
Back at the Dex Holders and company, they reach the room with the locked door and use the machine room key to unlock it.
"Wait a minute..." Ponders Blue. "Red."
"Huh? What is it Blue?"
"You have the legendary Keyblade don't you?" Asked Blue.
"Yeah, why do you ask?" Asked Red.
Blue immediately facepalms. "I just realized we could of used the Keyblade to unlock the doorway."
Everyone in the room takes a second to process this before comedically facevaulting to the ground.
"That would of been useful to know earlier!" Said Chris.
"Wow, we wasted all that time to unlock one door when the answer was right in front of us the entire time." Said Green, rubbing his temples.
"Oops." Said Red, scratching his head.
The group immediately opens the door leading into another dark hallway which in turn leads to another doorway. On the other side of the door, the whirring and clicking of machinery can be heard. The group enters the machine room, and Rebecca finds another bug monster crawling on the cieling.
"Chris, those man bugs are in here too." Said Rebecca.
"I'll just fry them with electricity and that will be the end of it." Said Blue.
"I think you better hold off on using your magic in here." Said Green.
"Why?" Asked Blue.
"Who knows how delicate the machinery in this room is? One bolt of lightning could cause something as catastrophic as an explosion." Said Green.
"He has a point, let's just try avoiding these things for now." Said Red.
The group walks slowly on the pathways sorrounding the large generators and other machinery behind the railings. They soon reach what seems to be a computer terminal. The group slowly walks towards the computer and Chris immediately hijacks and begins to click on different icons the screen.
"Alright, let's see what we can do about that one door." Said Chris.
Chris begins to type what seems to be random keys on the keyboard of the computer, multiple screens begin to pop up, and an additional screen asking for a username and password pops up as well.
"Damn!" Said Chris.
"What is it?" Asked Rebecca.
"This thing requires a password to gain entry, we're stuck!" Said Chris.
"Now what?" Asked Red.
Immediately after Red says that, two bug monsters drop down from the ceiling and ambush them.
"Well, so much for not trying to fight these things." Said Green.
"This will get em! HYAH!" Yelled Red, who then proceeds to slash one of the insect monsters. The insect monster is sliced in half and melts into shadowy essence, being replaced by a group of Shadow Heartless.
"These things are being controlled by Heartless too!" Said Blue.
"Perfect." Said Green, who proceeds to slash the other insect monster in half. The insect monster melts, and more Shadow Heartless pop up.
"HAH!" Yelled Red, slashing three Shadow Heartless, dispatching them. Green proceeds to dispatch the rest of them with some sort of spin attack.
"Phew, that was a close call there." Said Red.
Chris tries typing on the computer again, only for the computer to tell him he's having no luck.
"It's no good. I can't get anywhere in here without some sort of password!" Said Chris.
"Perhaps we won't need a password." Said Blue.
"What do you mean?" Asked Chris.
"Let's go back to that electronic door and I'll show you." Said Blue.
At the Electronic Door
BOOM!
The electronic door is shown to be blown off it's hinges as it flies to the other side of the room.
The one shown to have done the damage is shown to be a tall, pink Pokemon with a vaguely star shaped body. It has long, pointed ears with dark brown tips and black oval eyes with wrinkles on either side. A curled lock of fur hangs over its forehead, much like its large, upward-curling tail. It has dark pink three-pointed wings on its back. Its hands have three fingers each, and its feet have two clawed toes and dark pink soles. It has a long, tightly curled tail.
"Nice work Clefy! Return!" Said Blue.
Green and Red are just shown to be facepalming the entire time.
"What was…" Began both Chris and Rebecca.
"Don't ask." Said both Red and Green.
"Whose there!?" Cried out a female voice.
"Huh? JILL!" Yelled Chris. Chris runs over to the doorway and sees Jill's face trough a small opening.
"Chris! It's you." Said Jill with a hint of relief in her voice.
"How long have you been in there?" Asked Chris. "Who did this to you!?"
"Chris, Wesker is a traitor, he set this entire thing up just so he could have us killed!" Said Jill.
"What!? Wesker!?" Asked Chris.
"He's been an agent for Umbrella this entire time. Umbrella as a pharmaceutical company is only a cover up, what they really do is kidnap and experiment on people, as well as create biological weapons!"
"Clefy, come back…." Began Blue.
"Your not blowing that door open with a Hyper Beam, are you crazy!" Yelled Red.
"You could seriously hurt Jill if you blow the prison door open!" Said Green.
"Than I'll just have Blasty break it down." Said Blue simply. She calls him out.
"Blastoise!" Roared Blasty as he's released from his Pokeball.
"Use Strength on the door to tear it down!" Said Blue.
Blasty grabs hold of the small hole as Jill steps back, and proceeds to rip the door out of the wall.
"We got to use our Pokemon more often." Commented Red.
"Is that what they're called?" Asked Rebecca.
"Chris, what's going on, who are these people?" Asked Jill.
"Short version, we're Red, Blue, and Green." Said Red.
"It's a long story, and we'll try to explain it as best as we can later, right now, we need to know where Wesker is." Said Chris.
"He went through that door, last I checked." Said Jill.
"Is it unlocked?" Asked Chris.
"It should be." Said Jill.
Chris then proceeds to kick the door down, leading to yet another hallway. All 6 of them are shown walking down the hallway, and the path leads them to an elevator door. Chris pushes a button and the door opens.
"This probably leads deeper underground." Said Rebecca.
"And right to Wesker, hopefully. I'm going to get to the bottom of this, and I'm going to do it now!" Said Chris.
Chris, Jill, Rebecca and the Dex Holders walk into the elevator and the door closes, the elevator proceeds to move downwards. After a few moments pass, the elevator stops and it's door opens. The group leaves and walks down a small hallway and turn left to find Wesker standing in front of a double doorway.
"Wesker…." Said Chris.
"Ah, Chris, Jill, Rebecca, you made it." Said Wesker, with a slight smirk on his face. "And the Air Force officers as well."
"Wesker, what is the meaning of this!" Asked Chris. "Why are you trying to eliminate S.T.A.R.S.!?"
"I'm surprised Jill didn't tell you, I'm only following the orders given to me by Umbrella." Said Wesker.
"You've been a double agent all this time, and we were all none the wiser." Said Rebecca.
"Shocking, isn't it?" Asked Wesker. "Yes, all of the monsters here, in this mansion, all of them are Umbrella's creations. My intention was to see how well S.T.A.R.S. would handle our B.O.W.s, and by the looks of it, the three of you did perfectly."
"Something tells me there's more to it than that." Said Green. "You're hiding something, aren't you?"
"Smart pilot, aren't we." Said Wesker. "Of course, I assume intelligence is a crucial thing to have when in the Air Force, am I correct?"
Wesker loses the smirk.
"Of course, the three of you were never really Air Force pilots, were you?" Asked Wesker.
"No use in hiding it now, how did you find out?" Asked Red.
"I'm sure you've seen them running around here too, Keyblade Master." Said Wesker. "It's funny what comes to light when one steps into the dark."
"What!?" Asked Chris.
Wesker's body is then shrouded with an aura of dark energy, and his eyes glow red.
"It's amazing how powerful such simple creatures can be, allow me to demonstrate." Said Wesker. He draws his pistol at blinding speed and aims it towards Red. "Die!"
BANG!
Comments: Hoo boy, this chapter turned out to be a doozy. So. Many. Hallways! Hopefully that won't be much of a problem in future chapters. Anyway, Wesker has apparently gained the powers of Darkness, either that or just an aura of dark energy for show, and he just pulled a gun out and….well, maybe not shot Red, who knows, you'll just have to keep reading and find out.
