Chapter 24
Dear Prince Hans Westerguard of the Southern Isles.
Princes Anna has given birth to a healthy daughter named Rosalie that seems to poses the same powers as the queen as a result of this security has been dramatically increased. I urge you to be careful if you plan to attack within the next fortnight.
Sincerely: The rat
Prince Hans smirked and crumpled up the paper
"So it's finally here and it's a monster just like her dear aunt"
He sauntered over to his balcony where he could see all of the royal guests dancing and celebrating the king's success. He figured that it was almost time for his brother to make the toast so he quickly grabbed his vials and headed downstairs. Hans knew that castle like the back of his hand ever since he was a child he loved to explore the parts that where no longer in use ,now a man he was very happy that he picked up this particular hobby to aid him in his deadly plan.
The prince slipped into an abandoned service corridor that led to the kitchen and waited until he couldn't hear any movement then he discreetly poured the poison into the fine wine that was meant for the king's consumption. Once the deed was done Hans grabbed a non-tainted cup of wine where he poured the concoction that was made for him. He quickly made his escape threw another corridor that led directly to the throne room where he would sit with his brothers as part of the family and no one would suspect anything.
He entered the room at the precise moment when the servants where handing out the cups of wine to the members of his family. He silently sat in his throne and then proceeded to listen to his brother's long dreadful speech. Hans felt pure joy when he thought about Alexander not realizing that those would be his final words.
"As your king I swear that I will protect these grate Islands as my father did before me, I propose a toast for the successful year the kingdom has had." Said the mighty king.
Hans drank at the same time as his brothers and he quickly became violently ill. He could feel his throat burning and his heart beating at an impossible speed. He fell to the floor where the last thing he saw was the king convulsing next to him.
The prince awoke in the infirmary about three days after the fatal toast. His entire body hurt and just moving to sit up was a challenge but the site of his dead brothers all laying in their cots made him feel that it was all worth it. A nurse ran in and quickly made Hans lay down again, she called the doctor in a panic and soon enough he was rushing into the room to check on the sole survivor of the poisoning.
"Prince Hans you're alive!" the doctor checked him for any signs of illness.
"What..happened?" said Hans dramatically
"You were poisoned my boy." He said with a stern expression
"What about my brothers?" he said pretending to not know
"They are all dead you are the last royal of the southern Isles." He answered
The doctor finished examining Hans and let him return to his bedroom under close supervision. As soon as the prince arrived the royal advisors and treasurer flocked into his room with an official document. They briefed Hans about his new position as King of the Southern Isles; Hans of course agreed and signed the papers. At that moment He was crowned King of the southern Isles.
The day of Rosalie's formal presentation had arrived. Gerda had outdone herself with the decorations and the little princess looked as cute as a button she wore a very elaborate teal colored dress and headband that her mommy spent hours making. Anna nervously held her daughter close the balcony curtains that concealed them. She knew that it wasn't normal to have a child out of wedlock and it was much less acceptable for a princess to do it. Kristoff kept Anna close trying to give her some reassurance with his presence.
"Everything will be ok, they will love her." Said Kristoff
"Are you sure?" Said Anna
"What's not to love?" said Elsa
The queen gave them the cue and the new royal family stepped out together.
"Ladies and gentlemen is it with grate pleasure that I announce the birth of the beautiful Princess Rosalie of Arendelle."Said Elsa
The crowed began to applaud as they craned their necks to see the infant Anna felt less worried when she saw the way that they embraced her daughter.
