I've had future chapters stuck in my head so bad, so I was like let me post so I can hurry up and get to those chapters. And this popped out. So here you guys go. Remember if there are mistakes, please tell me. I am human I make mistakes but I'm willing to fix them. Also I know nothing about gymnastics so this is all my understanding from watching Olympic gymnastics.

[Chapter 25]

He sat there waiting for her to finish getting dressed. Gymnastics ended ten minutes ago and his patience were wearing thin. He hated coming. He hated watching her walk around in her leotard, completely oblivious to the fact that it showed every curve on her body. He hated watching her do the splits, knowing the no one should ever see her legs open like that except him. He hated everyone in the room that sat there just to watch. But the one thing he hated the most was the fact that he hated the one thing that ever made her happy.

Gymnastics was the one thing she had to herself that she didn't have to share. She didn't do it for someone else, she did it for herself. It made her happy. It made her free and he wouldn't take that away from her. He wanted her to be happy, to have something that she could run to when things got tough.

"It's strange to see you so deep in thought, Xanxus."

"Hn"

Standing up, they headed towards the door that would lead them outside. Vinci smiled seeing that Xanxus was in a good mood. Not that one could really tell. Reaching forward, she intertwined the fingers of her right and with his left. Instantly she felt him tense up, almost unsure what to do. She might have been too straight forward but sooner or later they were going to hold hands. Besides there was nothing wrong with her making the first move.

"What would you like for dinner tonight? I'm thinking something with cheese." Vinci asked trying to lessen the tension.

"Is it just the two of us?" He asked looking straight ahead.

"Yeah. Squalo is hanging out with the heir to the Cavallone family. Piero's been dating this new girl for about three days, so I think he plans on having sex with her tonight, and mother said she won't be back until the weekend." Vinci explained taking her keys out as they walked up the porch.

"Make whatever"

"What is this?" Vinci teased turning around, smiling up at the boy. "When did the almighty Xanxus not care what is served to him. Strange…" reaching up she pressed her hand to his forehead. "...you aren't sick are you?"

"Woman" Xanxus warned.

Vinci just laughed and walked into the house. "Fine, I'll find something for us to eat."

Xanxus sat at the table watching her walk back and forth from cooking their dinner, to making Squalo's, to making Piero's and her mothers. She grabbed the strainer and flipped the noodles of Squalo's dinner into it. Huffing she left to stir the contents of one of the pots before returning to the noodles.

Looking down at the paper he was given today, he decided to ask about it. "Vinci"

"Yes" She said looking at him over her shoulder.

Lifting the paper up, she walked over and looked at it. "Oh it's just about the testing tomorrow."

"What the hell is going on?" He asks as she went back to the food.

Vinci just laughed and dumped the noodles into a bowl before slowly pouring the sauce on. "The whole school goes through it. The testing is just a ranking system that the school uses, so when a mafia family is interested in a student they can ask for their scores. Not that you have to worry about it since you're already in Vongola."

"What family has looked at you?"

At his question, Vinci couldn't help but laugh. Sliding Squalo's dinner into the fridge, she turned off certain knobs on the stove so Piero's and her mother's dinner could cool off to put it into a container. "Trust me, I have no interest in the mafia, and even if I was I wouldn't be able to get into one. My score are pretty low."

Xanxus leaned back into his chair, narrowing his eyes on the girl. "What the fuck do you plan on doing after you get out of school?"

Vinci walked over and sat down in his lap. His arms wrapped around her waist to keep her in place. "I'll get a job, save some money and hopefully get into college. Then maybe someday I can become a nurse."

"Why the fuck do you want to be a nurse?"

Vinci just smiled. "I think I'd be rather good at it. I mean with all my hospital visits and saving Squalo's life after he cut his hand off, I don't see how I could really fail." Leaning forward, she kissed his cheek. "Besides maybe after I get my degree, I can take care of you. Seeing as no one else can."

Xanxus grunted not seeing a problem with her idea. She's be by his side at the end. He'd be there for her and he wouldn't have to worry over her every second of the day. "Now let's see what you're scheduled for." Vinci said grabbing the piece of paper. "Besides fighting, which everyone has to go through, you have to test in marksmanship. I didn't think you'd be the gun type."

"What the hell is a gun type?"

"Nothing, it's just I see you being more of a person to do things with your fist. Then again that would mean you have to actually get up to do something. You are lazy, so maybe you are a gun type." Vinci mumbled.

Xanxus quickly shoved her off his lap. "Xanxus!"

Ignoring her, he lifted his leg and pulled his ankle up to rest against his knee. "I'm hungry"

Muttering something underneath her breath, she got up and walked over to finish their dinner. Xanxus looked at the paper wondering what she was testing. "What test are you taking?"

"I'll take fighting, and the obstacle course." She said placing his food in front of him. "Xanxus, tomorrow, be careful. There are some people who refuse to lose."

She watched as he swiped the last of his opponent's feet from under them. He was flawless. Everything he did was done precisely. He was perfect. Vinci smiled as the testing ended allowing him to leave the floor. "He actually wasn't too bad." Livia stated pressing the ice pack against her cheekbone.

"I would say so. He came out unscratched." Vinci said standing up as Xanxus made his way to her. "Look who came out on top." She teased wrapping her arms around his waist.

"They were fucking weak. Waste of my time." Xanxus snorted.

"Well at least you'll get high scores. I'm sure your father would be proud." Vinci said.

"Alright you two, stop with this lovey stuff." Livia said pulled Vinci away from Xanxus but was stopped by Xanxus grabbed onto Vinci.

"Fuck off"

"Vinci you better handle your toy because I'm about to break him." Livia snapped.

Sighing at her friend, she looked up at Xanxus. "Be nice, or at least until I get back. Okay?" She asked.

"Team Seven!" The announcer called.

Turning on her heel she walked down the stairs and towards the meeting spot. Several other girls where there. Some looking scared, others looking reading to kill her. Pulling her shorts down a bit, she gave her name to the announcer. Given her designated spot, she walked over and tried to remain clam until it started.

"She looks like she's ready to faint." Livia said watching the floor action.

Xanxus sat next to her and looked at his girl. He wouldn't say she's look ready to faint, she looked ready to throw up her breakfast more than anything. Looking at her outfit, he growled. She was wearing her favorite spandex shorts, and white tank top.

"They look to be starting the obstacle course first. Livia stated.

"Hn"

Livia turned and glared. "Shouldn't you care? Vinci might get the highest scores in the obstacle course but she still has to fight, and we both know how that's going to end."

"Shut up, it's starting."

"Alright, girl. You have thirty seconds to look at the course from where you stand. At the end of the thirty seconds I will blow the whistle. At the sound of the whistle you may go. The goal is to reach the flag. Do not take the flag. All you need to do is touch it."

Vinci ignored everything the announcer said. Her eyes traveled up and down the course. It was in layers this year. She'll have to find a way to reach the top without falling to her doom. Biting her thumb, she saw the balance beams, and the trapeze. Vinci hoped speed was on her side. Looking around she saw they only had ten seconds left. Taking a deep breath, she quickly untied her shoes, and pulled them off.

The whistle sounded and Vinci rushed over to the balance beam. Pulling herself up, she ran across and hopped onto the next one. When she got to the end she saw a rope. Grabbing it, she looked up to see where it went. The rope reached about thirty feet up, tied to a platform. Knowing she wouldn't be able to pull her body weight that far, she looked around. Seeing some steppers she jumped down from the balance beam and ran over. The first one was only about two and a half feet tall while the second one was at least eleven. If she could get to the top of that one, she'd be able to reach the railing of the ramp that led to the platform.

"It's just like vaulting, Vinci. Just instead of pushing off with your hands, you'll push off with your feet." She said to herself. Giving herself about twenty feet, she runs off. Leaning forward, she presses her hands against the ground, flips over allowing her feet to touch the short step and push off into the air. Pulling her arms in to her body, she feels the steps underneath her feet. Bending her knees, she feels the weight of the landing. Taking a deep breath, she balances not wanting to fall off. "Oh my god. I did it."

Knowing she couldn't celebrate, she turned, grabbed the railing and heaved herself over. Heading towards the platform, she grabbed onto the trapeze. "Alright I did the vault pretty well. How hard could this be?" She laughed. "Just swing myself over. That's it just…" looking down she saw the height, "…don't fall."

Laughing nervously, she jumped up pulling her knees to her chest. Swinging through the air, the other side quickly came. Not wanting to, Vinci let go of the bar and fell onto the solid ground. Her hip bone smashed into the surface, and she was sure it was going to leave a bruise. Pushing herself up, Vinci walked over to the flag and touched it.

"Congratulations, Miss. Vinci. First as always." An adult said standing a few feet away.

"Thank you"
