Before I get into the FINAL chapter of this story...I would just like to thank whoever left the guest review on the penultimate chapter because it was absolutely amazing to read. I was doubting my ability to write as of late and after reading that review, I felt so much better. Thank you so much! :)

One year later...

"Seriously," Emma stated with a groan, "I hate you so much right now."

Paige rolled her eyes at her friend and shook her head. "I don't know how you could. You're on top of the whole damn world."

The blonde grinned. "I know!"

Many things had changed since Paige and Seth called it quits officially. Something about the way things ended gave her enough closure to feel light again, like she did before they ever began sleeping together. She felt young and new, like nothing could tear her down. The duo even tagged together on RAW and in house shows a few times when she was still in the Authority. Eventually, they dissolved and she found a new partner when her friend Becky Lynch debuted on the main roster.

She also managed to patch things up with Emma, and just in time before arrogance filled every ounce of her body when she defeated Nikki Bella to win the Divas' Championship in a record-setting match. It served as payback for both Emma and Paige after everything that went down between those three.

"Can you stop flooding my timeline with selfies of you and that belt?"

Emma looked up from the mirror where she was doing her makeup and glared in the woman's direction. "Do you hear yourself right now? It took me years to get this championship so if you think I'm going to put it down long enough to forget to take a picture, you're dead wrong."

Paige giggled and stood up. "I need some air."

"What you need is to find a boyfriend."

"Okay," Paige stated, clearly uncomfortable. "That was unnecessary, especially coming from you."

"What does that mean? I'm coming up on one month of being engaged to the man of my dreams while you're still stuck on planet single."

Just the sound of Emma repeating her engagement paralyzed Paige's body. Not only had she heard her friend re-announce her newfound inspiration for wedding planning over and over again, but she'd also heard the excruciatingly awkward story of how the gigantic ring found its way onto her finger.

If finding the ring in your mouth after eating the sandwich your boyfriend made for you with it hidden in between the lettuce and the ham was romantic then Paige never wanted to get engaged. Ever.

"For the record," she began, "I actually am seeing someone."

"Liking someone's post online doesn't count as seeing someone."

Paige opened her mouth to say something insulting, but she changed her mind. "Like I said...air."

"Whatever," Emma said before looking back down at her phone, ignoring the sass in Paige's tone. She could care less what people had to say about her and Dean's engagement because she was full of happiness.

It had been a long road for the couple. To begin by sleeping together as revenge on their friends to being broken apart by infidelity - surprisingly parallel to Seth and Paige's break-up - all the way to becoming each other's soul mates was unbelievable. Not exactly fairytale material, but Emma could take it.

Behind her, Emma heard the door swing open and the shut before two hands clasped around her eyes.

"Let me guess," Emma said with a smile. "Donald Trump?"

"Ew, what? You've been in America for like five years and that's the only celebrity you can name?"

The blonde turned her head to see, of course, Dean towering over her with a foolish expression on his face. "What are you doing here? Don't you have a match, or something?"

"Or something, to be honest, would be much more entertaining," he said as he leaned in and wrapped his lips around hers. They were slathered in gloss, but he didn't mind.

He still wasn't used to the idea of spending the rest of his life with that woman, but the thought was entertaining in the least. She made life interesting for him. The amount of times he had to pronounce different American-sounding words was sad, but he did it anyways. He loved hearing her mimic his accent and fake amusement when he told her a boring story. They shared their love for wrestling passionately, amongst other sweaty activities they enjoyed.

After his brawl with Seth on that steamy summer night, they settled their differences with the understanding that it wouldn't happen again. Besides, being brothers was way more fun than being rivals. Even if their matches against one another scored big points by critics.

"I can't right now," Emma said as she pulled away. "I have to get ready for my match too."

"Can't you just live a little? We're getting married - that's way out of my comfort zone. The least you could do is show me a good time."

Although she would punish him for his words later, she did want to enjoy her last few minutes of being the reigning champion before she had to go out and defend her title. She wouldn't drop it to her opponent, but she liked the thought that she was living in the moment, on edge.

She needed something to alter her perceptions sometimes.

Paige, on the other hand, didn't have a match to prepare for that night and also was fiancé-less so her perceptions didn't need to be altered. Or at least, when they did, she didn't pretend to live life on the edge since that was how she lived regardless of circumstances.

She did seem to have a slight pep in her step as she skipped down the hallway of the chilly arena, however. Her feet danced across the tiled floor each time she took a step. Her freedom was liberating not only in the sense that she had nothing physically holding her down any longer, but because her mind was clear of all tense thoughts. Her mind was empty of fear and anxiety.

As she walked down the arena aimlessly, she occasionally bumped into someone she knew before giving them a sweet smile and friendly wave. She would then return to her random search for something to strike an interest in her, which she didn't find.

At least, not until she turned the corner into a buff bicep.

"Ouch!" Reaching her hand to her face and cupping her nose, Paige twisted her face in pain. "That hurt," she stated. Finally looking up, her cheeks were set on fire. "Oh, Seth. Sorry about that."

"Don't be," he said with an embarrassed smile.

Neither of them knew what to say, so Paige cleared her throat. "It's great, seeing you. Have you been lifting more?"

"Oh, yeah, Yeah...thank you."

"I'll see you around?"

Seth nodded and smiled a bit brighter. "We do work in the same buildings."

A cheerful smile of her own formed on her lips. "Yes. It's just, we rarely see each other when we're working."

"We've been busy," he commented and she nodded. "It was great seeing you."

"It really was," she replied. She didn't know whether or not to hug him or slip around the corner and disappear into the real world with other normal people. Normal people who didn't have maladroit conversations with their former friend with benefits.

Rather than keeping things friendly and...well, normal, she gave him a military salute before turning the corner and walking past him. Another smile, this time accompanied by a corny chuckle, came from Seth's pleased face.

Despite all they'd been through, she could still light up his life.

Later that night...

The only thing she could hear was the sound of heavy breathing mixed with slight pleasure-filled sighs before he fell to his side of the bed and they focused solely on not passing out from excitement.

Her hand rested on her forehead and her mind was blank. So much had transpired that she hadn't fully come to terms with it just yet. It wasn't the first time it had happened, and although they continuously agreed to end it, it wouldn't be the last.

Releasing another deep breath, Paige turned her head to the man next to her. "You okay?"

With a relaxed smile, he turned his head just to look at the sensation that was written all over her eyes. Seth reached across the sheets and caressed her cheek with his forefinger, enjoying the feeling of his skin on hers.

They tried to stay away, they really did. And it worked for nine months. And then they found themselves in a similar predicament to their first sexual encounter. Because despite how far they'd drifted apart in the past, they always ended up drifting right back together.

And they were better at keep their little secret this time. Much, much better.

After all, secret relationships are way sexier.

Seth rolled over until they were close enough to feel each other's hair as it stood on their ends. "I'm amazing," he replied, his smile gleaming. "You're amazing."

She giggled. "Yes...I am freaking amazing. Next time you should just roll over and bow down to me."

"Maybe I will." With a smirk worked up on his cheek, Seth arched an eyebrow in her direction. "Or, maybe I'll kneel down on one knee."

Paige's eyes lit up, but she maintained her cool by refusing to squeal like a ten-year-old girl. Marrying him? It wouldn't be the worst thing she could imagine happen to her, especially since she liked the idea of eloping without telling a soul. Even if it would scare the living daylights out of her parents. She couldn't find the words to respond with, so she kissed him.

Fate really does work in mysterious ways sometimes.

The End

Author's Note: Plot twists are friends. Plot twists are life. I don't know if I'm going to write a spin-off or not. It took me a year to get whip this one into shape and it would probably take me twice as long to make an equally exciting (if not more) sequel. And quite frankly, I don't know if I have that in me. But, an ENORMOUS thank you to every single person who has ever clicked on this story. And an even bigger (if you can get bigger than enormous) thank you to the people who followed or favorite this story - even if you didn't leave a review, your support was dually noted. And, of course, a gigantic thank you to the people who took the extra time to leave a review, letting me know what your thoughts were, even if it was only on a single chapter. This has been my most successful story to-date and I couldn't be more grateful for everyone who was a part of this journey. This is one of my favorite couples despite the fact that they aren't a real couple, and to know that there's thousands of people out there with the same fantasy of seeing these two together is absolute insanity to me. And it's even more hilarious that most people clicked on this story with the intention of reading smut, which I don't write...I'm glad that those of you who had that intention and continued reading never gave up on this little story, even if there wasn't enough sex for you. That is such a strange thing to say.

Goodness, what a note. With all of that being said, I'm signing off this story for the last time. Once again, for those in the back, THANK YOU!
