Authors Note:
~So this chapter is going to be pretty emotional. Some crying, some lying, some confessions, some well… you get the picture.
~There is a poem in this chapter, I do not claim it. That goes to Elaine Mansfield. The poem is named, "the ruby came from the stone," and it is absolutely perfect for this chapter. The only disappointment is that it is too short, but the words are just right.

Lucy POV:
After, I slashed the next key, a flash of blue light appeared along with two floating figures. They both are small creatures with blue colored bodies and two antennae. They also have small, black, beady eyes with white pupils. One of the two is wearing orange shorts and a sash that crosses her torso from her right shoulder to her left waist. While the other wore black shorts and a sash that crosses over his torso from his left shoulder to his right waist. The spirit who wore black shorts had a "^" for a mouth and the other who wore orange has a "v" for a mouth. 'They're identical like twins, so they must be the spirit Gemini.'
"Pirti-Pirti," they said in unison, "Hello Lucy."
"It's nice to," the spirit wearing black greeted.
"Meet you," the other spirit finished. They both twirled and floated to the side, swapping positions. Then finished off by striking a pose.
"The feeling is mutual," I claimed with one of my constant fake smiles. It's not that I'm not pleased to see them, it's just… ever since that day... I haven't… Either way, it's only common courtesy to smile when you greet someone, if you like them or not.
"My name is Gemi," the spirit wearing black announced.
"My name is Mini," the other said.
"Together we are the Gemini twins," they announced in unison. Again, they swapped places and then both strikes another pose. After finishing their little routine, they floated towards me, Mini on my left and Gemi on my right. The twin celestial spirits tapped my shoulders in unison and transformed into… me! They wore the same outfit, had the same hairstyle and freckles in the right spots. Not that I have that many freckles, just a few. My skin is practically flawless.
"What did you just do?" I asked shocked beyond belief.
"Now we know everything you know," the other me claimed, "and everything you feel." The other me transformed back into Gemini and began to float slowly in front of me.
"What! You should have asked me for permission first!" I yelled out of frustration. They shouldn't have looked into my mind. I don't want anyone knowing how I feel. This is invasion of privacy! I won't stand for this!
"Why are you sad?" They asked in unison. I was caught by surprise and didn't have much time to react. So I looked away and could feel the worried stares they were giving me. All three of them, Mini, Gemi and Natsu. All three of their stares were cast upon the back of my neck like a beam of light is cast upon a performer on stage. My heart began to race out of nervousness.
"I-I'm not," I lied. Not just to them but to myself. No… What am I saying? I'm completely fine, physically and mentally.
"Why do you," Gemi started to ask.
"Lie to yourself?" Mini completed the sentence. They slowly drifted to different positions like before, but with one exception. They avoided the posing and twirling bit.
"I'm not lying!" I bellowed, "So shut it!" I could feel tears of anger and sadness form on the lining of my eye lids. Instead of letting them fall and run down my cheek, I simply blinked them away.
"Hey Luce, are you sure you're alright?" Natsu asked walking up to comfort me.
Before he could reach me, I backed away and said, "I'm fine! Let's get on with this, shall we." He was hesitant but he eventually nodded in agreement. "Gemini," I called their name, "What do you want on our contract?"
"How about Sunday," Gemi suggested very drowsy like.
"And Monday," Mini suggested in the same way. They both hovered over to my shoulders again and gently patted them.
"If you ever need someone to talk to," Gemi said.
"Or a shoulder to cry on," Mini continued.
"Just summon us and we'll be here for you," they claimed in unison and then vanished.
"Luce, are you sure you're okay." I looked over to see Natsu looking down at the floor while gritting his teeth.
"Yes," I said giving him a reassuring smile. Even though I feel no need to smile anymore. There's just no point.
Pushing those thoughts to the side, I pulled out the last key and slashed it in front of me. Appearing before me in a golden light is a tall humanoid goat. His body is covered in short brownish, white fur, with longer tufts covering his lower face resembling goatee. The back of his legs, resemble those of a goat, being slightly bent backwards and ending in dark hooves. He has short, thin ears sitting on top of his head, with distinctive, elongated oval form, and horns which curve downwards and jut frontwards forming his face. From his lower back sprouts a mildly long tail ending in dark tuft of fur, and his fingers sport long and dark fingernails. His attire consists of a black tail coat, a vest, and a grey tie, on his face rests a pair of black, mirror polished shades. 'A goat spirit, so this must be Capricorn.'
"Greetings Lady Lucy," the goat said with a bow.
"Hello Capricorn," I greeted and returned the bow. "What would you like on our contract?"
"If it's not too much a bother, I would like to read you a poem first," Capricorn suggested pulling out a small leather bound book.
"Oh no you don't have to," I explained, "you see, we are in a hurry."
"I wrote this poem myself," He claimed ignoring what I said, "It is titled the ruby came from the rose."
"Hold on…" I protested, but he continued without delay.
Don't run away from grief, o soul
Look for the remedy inside the pain,
Because the rose came from the thorn,
And the ruby came from a stone.
I stood in a trance because of the poem. It was a beautiful manuscript, enough to make my heart ache and feel the need to cry. This pain… It feels as if daggers have pierced through my chest and is now stinging my soul. Is it because of the poem? D-Did he read this poem to me knowing how I felt? That I am lost in this cold environment, unable to escape from my grief.
What am I saying? I already reassured myself that I am physically and mentally fine. But… I took a deep breath. Why didn't I say emotionally? I'm emotionally fine aren't I? Right? Of course I am, no need to worry, but… still… Why does my chest have a sharp pain down my core? And why do my eyes have this strange stinging sensation? I lifted my hand up to my eye and touched just below my lids. My cheeks were warm and wet with tears.
"Gemini explained to all the spirits that you are in a depressive state," Capricorn said. His voice was echoing and sounded like he was getting further and further away from me. "Also, that you would not admit that you were sad because of your mothers… passing on."
"My mother…" I practically breathed the words. My legs began to feel weak and I started to lose my balance. So, I let myself fall to the floor. I winced at the pain when my knees and hands made contact with the ground. I began to wail out like a newborn baby escaping the darkness of its mother's womb and coming into the light of the new world. Why… why does my heart hurt so much? Why me? Why did my mother have to leave me? Why did Adel leave me? I'm all alone…
"Everyone eventually leaves me," I murmured under my breath, to where no one could hear me.
"Your wrong," I heard Natsu mutter. He was standing beside me gritting his teeth and clenching his fists by his sides. This time he began to shout, "You're not alone! You have all of Fairy Tail!" He spread his arms out while slowly spinning in place and gestured to the guild. Letting his hands fall to his sides, he walked up to me and embraced me in a warm hug. This feeling brought me back to reality and I rested my face on his shoulder. It was surprising on how comfortable it was. It seemed like it was a perfect fit. It was warm, comforting and it felt like I belonged in his arms. I wanted nothing but to stay like this forever.
"Lady Lucy, the spirits asked me to relay a message to you," Capricorn said, laying his furry hand on my shoulder for comfort. "We are all on your side. If you ever need any comfort we will all be there. So, don't be sad."
"They really said that?" He nodded in response. I felt my body temperature slightly rise. This feeling… Why does it feel so different? Is this happiness? Until now I have never known the difference between the two emotions, not completely knowing what sadness felt like, but this warm feeling inside of me feels nice. Natsu released his long hug and without letting go of my shoulders he gives me a wide, toothy grin. I smiled back. Not one of the fake smiles I constantly flash at people, an actual smile. A smile full of compassion and happiness. I rested my face in his shoulder once more. As I closed my eyes to take in the feel of his body I drifted off into a drifted off into a dreamlike state.
Authors Note:
~NaaaaaLuuuuuu! Is Life! Still need to work on my romance stuff though. I need a life. * Sighs* Seriously…
~Sorry, I had a hard time rewriting the part after the poem. I think the last chapter I posted was much better rewritten. This chapter I know I put a lot more similes in it and there may have been a lot more description. So I can't say if the original chapter was better or the remade. Either way, this chapter turned out pretty well, wouldn't you say? Still… Errrrrggggg! Why did my USB have to crash on me?! Oh well.
~I hope your enjoying this story. Do you think it's slow? Well if you do hold out for about another five or maybe ten chapters it's getting really close to the Climax. The job request gets it there. And no, it's not going to be a daybreak arc.
~If you read this authors note and not the ending author's note of the last chapter, can you go back and read it please.
~Thank-you for reading this far. Arigato J
