Always Getting Over You:

The Rager:

Rhea POV:

"Do we have to go to History class?" Stefan asked me quietly as we walked hand in hand down the crowded school hallway and I rolled my eyes with a smile as I ignored the looks we were getting from the other students.

"You may have lived through the last century, but I was locked in a box. I want to learn what I missed out on." I told him in amusement as he wrapped his arm around my waist comfortably and he laughed at my comment as we turned into our history classroom. I paused for a second as I looked at the front of the classroom because the last time in was in here I was being tortured and watching one of my love ones getting tortured as well so it wasn't exactly a happy memory for me.

"Are you okay?" Stefan asked me softly as he squeezed my waist tightly in a show of comfort and I turned my head to smile at him reassuringly as I nodded my head at him.

"Perfect." I murmured as I leaned up to press a kiss to his lips and he smiled into the kiss as he pulled my hip closer to his body. I giggled a little as I pulled away from his mouth and his forest green eyes twinkled with mirth as he gazed down at me as he smirked. He grabbed my hand in his as he pulled me down the aisle of desks so that we could sit at two of the empty seats near the back of the classroom and I gracefully crossed my ankles as I sat down next to Stefan. I dropped my bag down at my feet as a familiar brunette vampire entering the classroom and I pursed my lips in silence as Elena made her way to the empty seat on the other side of Stefan.

"It's the first time we've been back in Alaric's classroom." Stefan murmured in realisation to Elena as I turned my head to see the doppelgänger staring at the vacant desk at the front of the classroom where the late Mr Saltzman used to sit.

"First period and I'm ready to bawl my eyes out." Elena said sadly as she sighed and turned her head to smile a little at Stefan as he nodded in understanding.

"It will get easier." I assured her with a small smile as I got my textbooks out of my bag and she looked at me with hard dark brown eyes as she nodded tersely. The door to the classroom opened as someone with high heels sauntered into the room with her shoes clicking on the floor and I looked up to see my twin sister coming into the room with a handful of flyers in her hand.

"Morning everyone." Rebekah greeted the whole room with a cheery smile on her pretty face and I grinned at her as nearly everyone in the room called out there greetings back at her.

"Just like that, I'm no longer feeling sentimental." Elena uttered to herself as she gripped the edges of her desk tightly until her knuckles turned white under the pressure and I ignored her as I rolled my eyes at her.

"So, I'm throwing a little anti-curfew party at my house. Starts at the fifth period and goes till whenever, spread the word." Rebekah announced to the classroom as she slowly made her way down the middle of the aisle and handed out a flyer to every person she passed with a smile.

"We're having a party?" I asked her in confusion when she came to a stop in front of my desk before she handed me one of the flyers and Rebekah smirked at me as she placed a hand on her cocked hip.

"Yes and you'd know that if you actually came home instead of spending every night at your boyfriend's house."

"I'll be back soon." I assured her with a small smirk as I glanced at Stefan from the corner of my eye before looking back at my sister and leaning my elbows on the desk with a sly smile. "Nik's having all the rooms soundproofed as a form of pence for lying about his death."

"Rhea…" Stefan groaned in embarrassment when Rebekah burst out laughing at my comment and Elena grimaced in disgust as she looked down at the table in front of her. I giggled at him when I noticed his blushing cheeks as he slouched down in his seat and I leaned across to press a lingering kiss to his cheek as I grabbed his hand in mine before sitting back in my seat.

"You're welcome to join the party Elena, if you'd like to bury the hatchet." Rebekah said to the doppelgänger with a smirk when she noticed the brunette sitting next to Stefan and I turned to see her glaring heatedly at me before snapping her head around to stare at my sister.

"It's a pretty enormous hatchet." Elena spat at her harshly as she narrowed her dark brown eyes and grabbed the flyer that Rebekah tried to hand her with a scowl on her face.

"Well, I'm feeling generous of spirit." Rebekah told her almost sarcastically as she smiled tightly at her and I chuckled lightly as I shook my head at them before opening the textbook on my desk.

"New house, huh? Did your brother finally kick you out?" Elena asked in a bitter tone of voice and my head snapped up in surprise at her words so I grabbed the flyer sitting on my desk to check the address on it.

"He didn't kick me out." Rebekah stated as she rolled her cerulean blue eyes at the oblivious doppelgänger and I quirked an eyebrow at her in question as I silently held up the flyer with one hand. "I had to move out for a while because the house is under construction. Didn't you hear my sister earlier? Apparently, Nik's building her and Stefan a tantric sex temple."

"Rebekah!" I scolded her in mortification as I ducked my head so that my honey coloured hair covered my blushing cheeks and I could see Elena's pretty face morph into fury at my sister's word as Stefan shifted uncomfortably in his seat.

"You know, history's my favourite class. Actually, where is Mr Saltzman...?" Rebekah asked curiously as she trailed off in mock thought and she pretended to think as she tapped her perfectly manicured finger on her chin. I scowled at her as I shook my head because I knew that she was taking this too far and I glanced at Elena to see her fuming in rage as she gripped the edge of her desk. "Oh, that's right, I killed him."

"Enough!" I ordered my sister sternly as I glared at her and Elena grabbed a wooden pencil from her desk before throwing it directly at Rebekah's face. I watched with a quirked eyebrow as Rebekah used her quick vampire reflexes to catch the pencil an inch from her face before hurling it back at the brunette and Elena gasped as the pencil stabbed her directly in the chest a few inches away from her heart. Rebekah and Elena glared at each other heatedly as the doppelgänger removed the pencil from her skin with a sickening noise and I nudged Stefan's arm to get his attention before I nodded towards Elena pointedly. He nodded in understanding as sent me a smile before standing up from his seat and grabbing the brunette's elbow before dragging her out of the classroom. I turned back to face my twin sister with a disapproving glare and she smirked at me victoriously as I sighed in exasperation.

Caroline POV:

I was sitting next to Stefan on one of the picnic tables outside the high school as we watched Elena pace back and forth in front of us.

"It was a valiant first day effort. No one will judge you if you want to go home." I assured my friend as I leaned back on my hands on the table and Stefan nodded in agreement as he rested his elbows on his knees.

"I don't want to go home. I want to take the white oak stake and kill her. That's how mad I am. She made me murderous!" Elena shrieked as she ran a hand through her long brunette hair and I turned my head to share a concerned look with Stefan because the Elena that I knew wasn't that violent.

"How about we just leave the murdering to Damon?" Stefan joked lightly as he slid off the table gracefully and went over to stand in front of his ex-girlfriend while I smirked at his comment because it was true that Damon was the more than likely murdering the vampire hunter right now.

"And – and then do what? Ignore her to death?"

"Look, she's trying to make herself feel better. She knows that everybody hates her, so she's trying to hate harder. Rhea says that Rebekah does it all the time. She tries to fit in by being nice but when it doesn't work she resorts to hatred and fear, like Klaus." Stefan explained to her calmly as he placed his hands on her shoulders to stop her from pacing and I frowned when I noticed the way Elena's face scrunched up at the mention of the honey haired Original that Stefan was now dating.

"Tell you what, just skip the rest of the day. Go have some fun. I feel like this day is severely lacking in fun." I exclaimed suddenly to distract Elena from whatever train of thought she was following because I knew that as a new vampire her emotions were all over the place and that she might act rashly. Elena glanced at me with her eyebrow raised in silent question and I smiled at her reassuringly.

"Yeah. Okay, fine." Elena conceded reluctantly as she nodded her head slightly and Stefan smiled at her encouragingly when she looked at him. "Then I'll go to her party and show her that she can't intimidate me. I just have to go home and change first."

"Sounds good." I agreed with her quickly as I sat up from my lounged position and she sent me a small wave before she walked away but I didn't miss the look she directed at Stefan as she passed him. I frowned at her retreating back until she was out of view and then turned to face Stefan with a raised eyebrow in question. "Does she seem a little off balance to you?"

"Yeah, she's channelling all her emotions into rage. It makes her feel like she has purpose. I used to do that too when I was, you know. Ripper me. She needs to come to terms with it, confront it, let it in before she can let it go." Stefan informed me with a shrug of his shoulders and I nodded in understanding as I stood up from my seat on the table.

"You're good at this, you know that? You saved my vampire life, now you're saving hers." I told him with a bright smile as we began walking towards the school together and Stefan ducked his head modestly as he shook his head a little. "You should write a book. Go on the View."

"Yeah, okay." He muttered sarcastically to my joke as I laughed out loud at his expression and we walked into the crowded courtyard. I heard my best friend's sharp intake of breath so I turned to face him in a mixture of surprise and concern and then followed his gaze to the back of a girl with long honey coloured hair wearing a red sundress.

"Hmm, come on, Romeo." I uttered to him as I grabbed his arm and pulled him towards the figure with a smirk on my lips when I was the look of complete adoration on Stefan's face. We walked towards the girl who was talking to a blonde cheerleader at the side of the courtyard and I smiled at the mere sound of her voice because it was always a reminder that someone cared about me more than Elena.

"Oh!" the figure exclaimed in surprise with a slight British lilt when Stefan wrapped his arms around her waist from behind and then rested his chin on her shoulder as I giggled at how adorable the two of them were together. "You better watch out. I have a boyfriend you know."

"I can take him." Stefan assured her confidently as he pressed a small kiss to the side of her neck and Rhea giggled at the act as she turned around in his arm to face him with a smile.

"I don't know. My guy is strong and brave and sexy." Rhea bragged with a coy smile as she ran her hands up Stefan's chest to rest on his shoulders and I grinned happily at the two of them as Stefan leaned down to kiss her passionately right in front of me. I couldn't help but compare what I was seeing in front of me to what I had witnessed of Stefan and Elena's relationship. The way Stefan acted with Rhea was much more relaxed than he ever was with Elena and I didn't know if that was because she was a vampire and not a human like Elena had been or because of the differences in their personalities.

"I love you." I heard Stefan whisper to his girlfriend and I immediately snapped my head up to look at the couple in front of me in surprise because I hadn't known that they were in love with each other.

"Hmm. I love you too." Rhea murmured back to him with a smile that was so filled with love that I found myself missing Tyler and I shifted on my feet uncomfortably because I really didn't want to intrude on such an intimate moment between the two. "Hey, petite luciole."

"Oh, hey, Rhea." I greeted her warmly as I turned my head back to the couple in front of me and I saw that Rhea had her arm around Stefan's waist but her oak brown eyes were focused solely on me.

"Are you coming to the party that I am apparently throwing tonight?"

"Apparently? Rebekah." I stated knowingly with a smirk on my lips and she nodded at me as she scrunched her nose up cutely in disgust. Stefan laughed lightly at the face she pulled as he kissed her temple and when Rhea smiled as she looked up into his green eyes I found myself wanting a love that was strong enough to last 90 years and being compelled to forget it like theirs was. I didn't know whether Tyler and I were that strong.

Rhea POV:

I walked into the house Rebekah was renting with Stefan and Elena next to me and I looked around in surprise at the number of high school students that were walking around drinking from red plastic cups filled with beer from a keg.

"Wow, we didn't have to be invited in. I wonder who used to live here." Stefan wondered out loud as we walked further into the entrance and I smirked at him as I shook my head.

"Or who died here." Elena corrected with a scowl as she crossed her arms over her chest and we all stopped walking in the middle of the parlour as I turned to look at the doppelgänger with a quirked eyebrow.

"It's rented." I assured her with a smile as Stefan slipped his hand into mine and I stepped closer to him so that my side brushed against his. Elena looked off into the distance with an expression of rage across her pretty face so I followed her gaze over to where my twin sister was standing with a bunch with girls on the cheerleading squad.

"You're fixating." Stefan accused Elena softly as he nudged her side with his elbow and she sighed loudly in defeat as she let her arms fall helplessly down to her sides.

"No, I'm just quietly hating." Elena retorted simply as she narrowed her dark brown eyes at Rebekah and I chuckled lightly in amusement as shook my head at her newbie vampire mood swings. A guy from my maths class walked pass holding a red cup full of cheap beer in his hand and as he went by me I grabbed it before looking deep into his blue eyes so that I could compel him. "This is mine now."

"You could have just flashed a smile and he would have handed it over." Stefan told me as he chuckled at me and I shrugged innocently as I handed the cup over to Elena with a smile.

"Why don't you have a drink? It'll help you let go." I told her kindly as she accepted the cup with a frown before she walked away from us without another word and I rolled my eyes at her back as she stalked out of the room. "I am going to need something a little stronger than beer."

"I stashed some Scotch in your new room." Rebekah called out to me from across the room and I turned my head to see my sister standing there looking at me with her hand on her hips as she smirked at me.

"Well, Stefan, do you wanna see my bedroom?" I asked my boyfriend in a fake high school girly-girl voice as I twirled a lock of my hair around my finger and Stefan grinned down at me in amusement as he nodded his head in agreement. I giggled slightly as began leading him up the stairs to the second floor of the house until we came to a door on the left side of the hallway with my name written on it in curvy writing. I frowned in confusion as I opened the door slowly to reveal a fully decorated room and Stefan closed the door behind me as we walked further into the room. I smiled saucily as I pulled Stefan over to the massive king size bed in the middle of the room before I pushed him down onto the edge of the bed and then straddled his lap quickly with my vampire speed.

"Hmm. Hello." Stefan whispered huskily as he tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear and I smiled slightly down at him as I placed him hands on his broad shoulders. He smiled up at me with a crooked smile as he put his hands on my hips and I leaned my head down to meld my lips to his in a passionate kiss.

"Hello." I whispered back to him throatily as I pulled my lips back an inch from his and I gazed into his lust filled forest green eyes as I tried to control my heavy breathing. I looked into his gorgeous eyes with a small smile on my lips and I saw a tinge of sadness mixed with the happiness and love that was so plain to see there. "What's the matter?"

"Nothing." He denied instantly as he shook his head slightly and I rolled my oak brown eyes at him as I moved my hands up to cup his handsome face in my hands.

"Stefan…"

"Okay, I see you without all the guilt and shame that I went through and there was a moment today where I could see the contentment you feel being what we are. When I'm with you, every bone in my body tells me to join in. To enjoy it. But, I know that if I do, even a little, I risk becoming him. The Ripper. I love you and I don't want to hold you back." Stefan told me sincerely as he gently rested his hands on my thin waist and I could see the tears that were forming in his eyes so I moved my hands up to run a soothing thumb over his cheek.

"But you don't know how to be around me and still resist that urge." I concluded knowingly with a sad smile as I leaned my forehead against his and he nodded slowly as he gripped my waist tighter slightly as though he was reassuringly himself that I was still there.

"Damon promised he'd help me stay off the edge, but he and I, we're not in a very good place right now." He admitted as he offered me a small sad smile and my lips twitched in response as I bit my lower lip in thought.

"Do you trust me?" I asked him softly as I tangled my fingers through his tousled sandy hair and he nodded immediately with a confused frown on his handsome face.

Stefan and I were leaning against the brick wall in the alley behind one of the busy dance clubs in Richmond as I watched the door to the club for a passer-by and Stefan gazed at me curiously as he waited patiently for me to explain why I had brought him here. I tilted my head to the side as I saw a girl in a short skirt with platinum blonde hair and plastered on makeup walking pass the mouth of the alley and I smirked to myself as I silently came to a decision.

"You see her?" I asked my boyfriend as I pointed at the blonde girl fumbling in her purse and she stumbled slightly because of the alcohol she had no doubt consumed at some point during the night. I turned to look at Stefan with a small smile and he nodded in answer as he watched the young woman stagger in her too high heels. "She is going to volunteer a carotid artery for us tonight."

"What? Rhea, no." Stefan protested in a hurry as he snapped his head around to stare at me with wide forest green eyes and I smirked at him as I placed a calmly hand on his chest over his heart.

"Stefan, I'm an Original. If you take it too far, I'll stop you. I know that you don't want to kill anyone and I want let you. I promise. You need to learn moderation and the best way to do that is to practice. Damon was right when he said that the animal blood diet was a cheat because you never learned to control your bloodlust and you need to."

"…Help me." he pleaded quietly as he looked deeply into my oak brown eyes and I could see the hurt, guilt and desperation in the depths of his forest green eyes. I nodded my head once in silent agreement as I grasped his hand in mine in an effort to give him some sort of comfort and he squeezed my hand back as he nodded once. Without wasting any more time, I used my vampire speed to dart out of the alley in the direction that the blonde had stumbled off in and sped in front of her when I saw her familiar silhouette in front of me on the sidewalk. The blonde girl gasped in surprise when I appeared in front of her as though out of thin air and I offered a reassuring smile as I grabbed hold of her upper arm.

"Hello. Don't scream." I compelled her in a calm voice as I looked deeply into her green eyes and her pupils dilated as she nodded numbly at my command. "Follow me. You are completely fine."

"I'm completely fine." She repeated after me in a monotone voice and I nodded once as I offered her a smile before walking around her to head back to the alley where Stefan was waiting. I heard the footsteps of the woman as she dutifully followed after me and I strolled towards the mouth of the alley.

"Stefan…" I said softly when I appeared at the end of the alley and saw my boyfriend leaning up against the brick wall with his arms crossed over his broad chest as he waited for us. Stefan head snapped around quickly as he stood up straight as me and the blonde walked deeper into the alley and his forest gaze focused solely on the blonde next to me. "She's compelled not to scream. You can do this, Stefan."

"Make sure I don't kill her, please." Stefan begged me in a helpless voice as his gaze stayed locked on the blonde next to me and I nodded my head with a small smile as I lead the girl closer to Stefan so that we weren't out in the open. I watched with a sick fascination as Stefan's mouth lowered to the woman throat and I bit my lower lip when his bloodlust took over to reveal is vampire face before his fangs sunk into her throat making her gasp in surprise. Stefan's green eyes closed tightly as he drank greedily from the young woman's neck and I felt my stomach tightening with lust as I watched my boyfriend feed from this stranger. My breathing got heavy as I listened intently to the sound of the blonde's blood rushing through her veins so that I could tell when she was close to passing out and I leaned my shoulder against the dirty brick wall as I bit deeper into my lip. The woman's blood began to slow down dramatically so I pushed myself off of the wall and walked over to side a few feet away from the two of them.

"Stefan… listen to my voice." I ordered him softly as I approached him from the side and his whole body tensed at the sound of my voice as I spoke to him. I put my hand on his muscular back as he stiffened immediately and I stepped forward so that my lips were an inch away from his ear. "Stay with me, Stefan. Listen to my voice. She's had enough."

"Hmm." The blonde murmured quietly in pain as Stefan slowly retracted his fangs from the girls' throat and his forest green eyes opened as he moved his face away from her neck. I caught sight of the scarlet red blood that was covering his mouth and my breathing quickened as lust made my stomach clench.

"Go home. Forget this happened." I compelled the blonde in a rush before I pushed her gently towards the opening of the alley and then spun around to latch my mouth onto Stefan's without a warning. I vaguely heard the sound of footsteps on the concrete as I pushed Stefan's back against the dirty brick wall behind him and I swiped my tongue over his lower lip to taste the deliciously sweet blood. Stefan groaned in the back of his throat as his hands gripped tightly onto my hips and I knotted my fingers into his tousled light brown hair as he pulled body closer to his so that they fused together. Stefan spun us around using his vampire speed so that I was the one pressed roughly against the brick wall and I gasped in surprise as pain radiated from where my head banged against the bricks. Stefan's lips melded together with mine perfectly as he cupped my cheek in his hand and grasped my hip with the other as he pushed my body into the cold brick wall behind me. I immediately raised one of my hands to tangle my fingers in his tousled sandy hair as I placed the other on his well-muscled shoulder and then moaned slightly in pleasure as he pressed me further into the wall. He took the opening to connect our tongues together in a battle for dominance as he dug his fingers deeper into my hip and I draped my arms around his neck as he ran his hands down to my thighs before lifting me up so that I could wrap my legs around his waist. My entire body felt like it was on fire as my fingers tangled them in Stefan's hair and he growled lowly into my mouth before he pulled away from my lips to place a line of wet opened mouth kisses down my jawline. I was breathing heavily as I moaned in ecstasy as he playfully nibbed the sensitive skin under my jaw and I shuddered underneath him as I titled my head back against the brick wall of the alley to give him better access to my skin. Stefan leaned anyway from me slightly from my neck to rip my shirt open and I laughed out loud in delight as some of the buttons flung wildly around the dirty alley. He smirked at me seductively before lowering his lips back down to skin and he grinned against my skin as his teeth grazed the base of my neck. I shivered in bliss as his teeth gently pressed into my skin without breaking it and I felt my whole body shutter underneath him as he sucked a little on the skin above my collarbone. One of Stefan's hands moved upwards a little too cup my breast in one hand as he kissed his way up to my lips before attacking my mouth with his and I moaned into his mouth as his tongue wrapped around mine in a fight for dominance. His thumb soothingly brushed against skin over my black lace bra as he tenderly kneaded my breast one hand while reaching up to cup my cheek with the other and continuing his attack on my lips with as much passion as he could put into one gesture. My whole body felt like it was on fire as I lowered my hands to the bottom of Stefan's t-shirt before I tore my mouth from his and ripped the shirt off over his head in one swift move so that I could run my hands over his tone abdomen. My hands greedily roamed his muscular bare back as I seductively grazed my perfectly manicured finger nails down his and he shuddered on top of me as I bit his lower lip in between my teeth. Stefan's fingers tangled into my long honey coloured hair as I moved my mouth away from his lips and left a trail of opened mouth kisses down his throat as I grazed my teeth against his skin.

"Oh, god." Stefan uttered gruffly as I bit into his neck gently and he grabbed the back of my head to moved my mouth back up to his as he roughly pushed me into the wall. I pulled back from him slightly so that there was less than an inch of space between our lips as our laboured breaths mixed together and he leaned his forehead against mine as my hands moved from his hair to his broad shoulders. "I love you."

"I love you too."
