"Hey Killua, Yukiko." Gon asked as we were walking to Masadora. Both us turned our heads slightly to glance at him. "Something's been bugging me."
"Huh?" Killua went in confusion.
"Aren't there hundreds of players? Isn't it weird that we've been able to transform all our items to cards?" Gon told us.
"What do you mean?" Bisky called out from behind.
"Even B-rank restricted slot types have a thirty card limit. The players here before us should have already collected them." Gon stated.
"Well, remember Battera said there are players that have given up on the game. So they might have traded their cards for money or something." I explained.
"You can also see it this way. Fewer than thirty teams in this game are capable of making real process." Killua added in.
"Oh, I see."
"Most players aren't worried about getting restricted slot cards. They're just trying to find a way out of the game or just living a life here." Killua told the boy.
"It would suck if you got to Masadora, and there weren't any Leave cards." Gon said with a nervous smile.
"That's not surprising. It is a rare card." I chimed in and smiled along with Gon. Killua threw his arms behind his head
"Yeah, that's why..." He stopped his sentence short in realization. Killua took a few more steps before stopping to think. "I get it. If you guys got to Masadora, but there weren't any Leave cards, what would you do?"
"Well, I'd save some money until a Leave showed up." Gon and I both nodded our heads at Bisky's statement.
"Okay, then what if you got a super rare spell card while waiting." Killua added to his previous question while pointing a finger in Gon's face.
"Trade it for a Leave." The words left my mouth before I could stop them. Gon had his mouth opened to reply before turning to look at me. It took a moment for him and Bisky to process what I had said.
"See?" Killua said smugly to point out his point and placed an arm over my shoulder. I glared at him slightly for it. We made our way to Masadora and stood outside the long line up of the Spell Card Shop. A chubby man with curly brown hair stepped out of the shop with a depressed look and sighed.
"Need a Leave?" Gon piped up, catching the man's attention. "Want to go back to the real world?" With that, the four of us split up and traded with other players, wanting to leave Greed Island. Actually, this place is the real world. I thought after a bit.
"We've gotten five restricted slot cards for four Leaves." Gon exclaimed as we met up again.
"Okay, that makes a total of fifty five types." Killua added.
"Meaning forty five more to go." I stated with a grin. We all through our arms up happily.
"Score!" We yelled.
We were sitting in a field, in the middle of our small circle were a bunch of random objects and I tried to remember just how we got all of them.
"So the cards that wouldn't fit in our binders reverted back to items." Bisky stated, a little upsettingly. Killua watched my movements as I grabbed a cute cate toy that was in the pile. I placed on my lap and gently rubbed it's ear. Suddenly, the cat meowed at me and I let out a small shriek. The cat jumped away from me and off into the distance. The four of us simply watched it go. What the heck...? I thought slowly in my head. There was a moment of awkward silence before Killua spoke up
"We're running out of free pockets. Then we should organize them now." Killua told us, grinning at me for what just happened. "We four have a total of 180 free pockets. We should each leave about 5 pockets free."
"You keep the spell cards, Killua." Gon suggested and I nodded my head in agreement.
"Bisky should have a few defensive ones." Killua stated while looking across the circle at Bisky.
"Wait! I have to use spell cards? No way! I don't know how they work." Bisky whined causing Gon and I to sweat drop at the scene.
"The heck? Then learn how they work!" The white haired boy snapped at the blond.
"I can hold onto a few spell cards, I guess." I added as I examined my binder. After a few more discussion and arguments, we easily cleaned up our binders.
"We've been deliberately avoiding other players, but we'll have to take risks to obtain the rarer cards." Killua told us.
"Yeah." Gon muttered in reply.
"Well, let's get what we can ourselves, then negotiate aggressively with any players we come across. Sound good?" Bisky stated the order.
"Yup." We all replied the girl.
We had done multiple trades with players along our journey. Many times, other players tried to fool us with a Clone or Fake, but Paladin's Necklace saved us each time. We were walking down a hill, the sun setting ahead of us. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the soft breeze. Man, I can't believe this is a real place... I thought with a content sigh.
"Hey, this necklace can remove curses right?" Gon asked, making me turn my attention to him.
"Only for spell cards" Killua answered the boy.
"Oh, so it won't work." Gon stated with a disappointed look.
"What's on your mind, Gon?" I spoke with a tilted head.
"I was wondering if a curse was behind the disease that all those villagers were suffering from." The green-haired teen told us.
"Villagers?" Killua repeated. I sweat dropped at him
"You already forgot?" I asked back. He glared at me in reply.
"The ones who took all your money and clothes. But it won't work since they aren't cards." Bisky said from behind us.
"No. It's worth a shot." Killua said after some thought. I let out a grin.
"We have nothing to lose, right?" I added in.
We made our way to the forest between Antikoba and Masadora. We entered the Japanese style home, all the bandits coughing from the disease.
"Will you trust us with your lives?" Gon asked the villagers with a serious face.
"You freely gave us everything you had. We will trust you!" Right after the elder exclaimed that, it rained cards of the villagers. I glanced at the card as I picked it up to hand it over to Gon. #163 Sick Villagers. I thought in my head and passed Gon the cards. The Paladin's Necklace glowed and the cards slowly became Healthy Villagers.
"It worked!" Gon shouted happily. We quickly used Gain on them and they handed us a beautiful purple gem as the once ill boy gave me a tight hug and thanked me for taking care of him that one time. I patted the boy on the head with a gentle smile, his grin reminding me so much of the kids back home. I was almost jumping in joy as they handed me the familiar black fabric of my cloak. I suppressed my urge to cuddle it like a teddy bear. I didn't know I got so attached to it. I thought
"Thank you very much! This treasure has been passed down for generations. Please accept this token of our gratitude." The old man told us as Gon eyes sparkled in amazement.
"Awesome! Lucky Alexandrite! Score!" The oldest boy yelled out. We exited the household and Gon placed the card in it's rightful spot. Right after, my book popped out.
"Another player has used Contact to reach you." My book told me.
"Yo, this is Kazsule. I'd like to talk to you. Could we meet in person?" The man on the other side spoke.
"Why?" I asked back.
"Another team is about to complete the game. It's a team of four, led by someone named Genthru." My eyes grew wide. Four? I repeated in my head. Shoot...
We sat on some tall rocks, other groups around us. Kazsule's group in the center of us all.
"Thank's for coming, everyone. It is much appreciated." Kazsule stated. "As I mentioned via Contact, Team Genthru is close to completing the game. I just checked the ranking, and they're currently at ninety six types. We must figure a way to stop them." Killua raised up his hand.
"Can I ask something?" Killua called out
"What is it?"
"How do you check the ranking?" The boy asked in confusion.
"Well..." Kazsule was cut off.
"You don't know how to do that?" I spoke up before she finished.
"No. Of course we know, that why we're asking." I said sarcastically. The orange haired lady glared at me and I glared back.
"Well, if we answer all their questions, we'll be here till dawn!" Asta, I think exclaimed. This caused all of us to glare at her. "Just cut to the chase."
"Now, don't be so mean... We're all here to exchange information." The leader of the group below stated, making me huff and cross my arms over my chest.
"They could have information you don't, Asta." One of Kazsule's team members added.
"That's impossible." The woman sneered.
"Impossible as how stupid you are..." I muttered under my breath, causing Bisky and Killua to snicker since they heard me. God, I'm being really rude. I thought but then again, her attitude really getting on my nerves...
"Those kids are amateurs who don't even know how to use the Trade Shop."
"In the Trade Shop, theres a ranking that lists player and their total restricted slot cards. If you pay a fee, you can even learn the numbers of their cards." The man explained to Killua's question
"But getting a player's name from the ranking still won't let you use Contact or Fluoroscopy on them. Not until you actually meet them. Don't you feel smarter now, kids?" Asta teased causing the three of us to snap.
"In other words, if we know the members of a team, we can determine how many cards they have." The same member that had spoken up before said.
"And Team Genthru is only missing #0, #2, #9 and #75." Gon, Killua and I all shared a glance. "There's a solid theory that #0 appears in an event after the other ninety nine are collected, so they only need three. We propose to find one of those three types before they do and monopolize it, to prevent them from clearing the game." Kazsule told us.
"There's gotta be something else. We could deluge them with Spell Cards." Asta stated, annoyance clearly heard in her voice.
"They already have Paladin's Necklace. So Levy is the only spell that will work. And they can block Levy if certain conditions are met." The man replied with ease.
"It's safe to assume that Genthru is willing to reveal that they have ninety six types, because their pages are protected with Prison" The white haired man in Kazusle's team explained.
"That's possible..." Gon muttered.
"Genthru was collecting a bunch of spell cards with the others who tried to recruit us. It's a reasonable assumption" Killua added in. I nodded my head in agreement.
"We could always take their cards by force." The rude lady stated.
"Would you be willing to lead the attack? We don't know what kind of abilities they have." An old looking man asked from another group. Gon and Killua tensed at my sides.
"Finding a card type to monopolize is the most practical option. I assume no one has objections. Then let's get to business. We'll need everyone here to cooperate."
"I'm fine with the proposed plan. But I have a problem with these members." Asta spoke up once again.
"Hold on Asta. I followed your condition... Have over fifty types of cards. These six teams met that condition."
"I also said that they had to be people who could contribute. I don't see how these kids can contribute anything."
"If we listen to all your complaints, we'll be here till dawn!" I stated in annoyance, repeating what she had said previously. I saw Asta's eye twitch. "You're being uncooperative and whiny. Don't like it, leave." Shoot shoot shoot. Why did I say that, I might change the plot! I yelled in my head but kept a straight face.
"You've got a smart mouth. Then show me some proof that you can be useful."
"We know Team Genthru's abilities." Gon spoke up with ease
"We have one of the three cards they're missing." Killua added, anger completely heard in his voice. There was a moment of silence before my boyfriend continued. "Still dissatisfied?"
"No, that's good enough. So tell us what their abilities are." The leader demanded.
"What about you?" I asked crossing my arms over my chest.
"Eh?" The woman yelped in surprise.
"Prove to us you can be useful." I rephrased my question.
"We have seventy one types of restricted slot cards... Significantly more than you. I'll give you an A-rank card in return for information. You shouldn't have a problem with that, brat." My eyes grew wide. She did not just call me a brat.
"Nope. Sadly for you, we can collect A-rank cards with ease. Got a better deal? Like two S-rank cards or equally valuable information." I said with a smirk. I could feel Bisky, Gon and Killua's eyes drilling holes into my back. But I ignored it because I was beyond annoyed.
"Don't get cocky, brat!" She yelled.
"Is that you're only reply oh, Ms. Seventy-One-Restricted-Slot-Cards?" I insulted back, sarcasm dripping from my voice.
"Did you hear that, everyone? These kids won't be any help. They want two S-rank cards from each group, that's ten cards they'd take." The woman exclaimed angrily to the other teams that were simply watching our exchange.
"Hm, I don't recall ever saying I wanted cards from every team." I stated innocently, a mock smirk on my face although.
"Eh?!"
"I'm only taking cards from your team. I'm fine giving information to the other four. I'll let them decide what to offer in return. But I won't tell you anything until you meet my condition." I snapped at the older female.
"You stupid brat... Throwing a tantrum because I didn't baby you, huh?" I think my aura just bursted... I thought as I evilly glared in anger.
"I'll beat you down till you can't speak out of that stupid mouth..." I mumbled angrily. I made a move to stand up, not really understanding were this urge of anger and violence came from, but was glad to comply.
"Stop her Killua!" I heard Bisky yelled before arms wrapped around my waist and held me still.
"Let go!" I yelled at the boy, whacking his arms in a futile attempt to be freed. Killua just rolled his eyes at me and kept me from struggling in his grasp. Gon sweat dropped at me and let out a nervous grin as he attempted to calm me down.
"Stop this both of you... We don't have time to fight amongst ourselves!" Kazsule yelled.
"I haven't agreed to team up with them yet!" Asta and I yelled, both pointing an accusing finger at each other, making the man sweat drop at our reply.
"I don't think I've ever seen you use so much sarcasm before." Killua whispered in my ear.
"She pissed me off!" I yelled back before sinking into Killua's arms in embarrassment, my adrenaline and anger leaving with ease in the boy's embrace.
"That kid's picking a fight!" I heard Asta say causing me to snap again, a tick mark popping up on my head easily.
"What was that?! You're the one picking a fight!" I yelled back almost jumping up but Killua held me down.
"Now, now. You are throwing a tantrum..." Killua stated, a slightly amused smirk on his face. I growled at him. After a little more of tossing insults back and forth, We finally made a truce and moved on. Gon explained Genthru's abilities to the other five teams and I watched with amusement as we learned plenty of new things like how we could re-use spells. We finished things up after we made a round.
"The question now is which card we should monopolize." Kazsule, which I am now thinking is the leader of this large group we've made, asked.
"It's probably impossible to monopolize the #75 we have. Each team can only obtain one, and the limit is twenty, which is too high." Killua stated to the new leader.
"You obtained #75?" One of the people said.
"That's impressive." I grinned at the comments.
"List on! #75." The man with the purple hat recited then spell. "So five teams have one. Monopolizing this one will be impossible."
"What about the other two?" Asta and I said in sync. We looked at each other and I quickly looked away in guilt. It wasn't me to start a fight and now I felt bad. Dang.
"List on! #9!" A buff man with blond hair yelled.
"List on! #2." Another man with dark skin spoke. An eruption of mumbling came out as they read the results. "No one has #2, Patch of Shore... We can make it work!" The man exclaimed.
"Guide Post On. #2." A young teen, maybe 2 or so years older than me called out. "I know where to find it... Soufrabi."
"I've been there before!" Another person exclaimed.
"I have an Accompany card here."
"Okay, let's go... Accompany on! To Soufrabi!" And off we went in a blob of light. Our large group landed on a beach, waves gently bushing against the sand. The moon was reflected against the water making it sparkle dreamily. A city was a far distance away from us. My eyes sparkled in awe.
"Wah!" I exclaimed in fascination. Killua gave me a strange look for my reaction. "Don't look at me like that, I've never been to a beach before." I told him with a nudge. We made our way to the large city and like always, I admired everything
"Search every room, one by one. Some characters may not give you information until you visit multiple times, so pay attention." Killua lectured us.
"Okay!" Gon, Bisky and I went while shooting our fists up.
"Hey!" Someone called out for us. We all turned to look at Gorienu. "I found someone with information." I laughed at my group members reactions. We made our way to a lady, her eyes emotionless as they stared off in the distance.
"The pirates rule this city... There's a legend about an underwater cavern called the Sea God's Grotto located somewhere in this area. Patch of Shore is the entrance to it. A few years ago, having heard of the legendary cavern and its treasure, fifteen pirates arrived in this city. Razor and the fourteen devils... The city fisherman were all tortured and killed. The pirates murdered anyone who knew about Patch of Shore. If you get rid of the pirates, I'll tell you what I know." God dang it Ging. What is with your stories? I thought bewildered and slightly dazed.
"When we visited a few months earlier, we couldn't find a single clue." Someone told us as we stood at the center of the town.
"This must be information only available at certain times. Maybe an event that only occurs at this time frame." Another one said.
"Isn't it because there's more than fifteen of us?" I piped up, my mouth moving on it's own again. This caused stares.
"H-How did you know that?" One of them asked me.
"W-Well, the story was 15 pirates and there 16 of us so I just assumed..." I replied quickly, nervous with the stares.
"An event that activates with 15 or more players." Kazsule stated slowly.
"But how would a game character know that?"
"Oh, Accompany!" Killua exclaimed in realization.
"Yes, a group of fifteen or more must reach Soufrabi with Accompany. That's probably the trigger for this event." The girl in Asta's group concluded for us.
"Brutal..." Goreinu said from behind us.
"Huh?" Killua and I went and turned around to face him.
"Oh, nothing"
"Let's go to the Pirate's base!" The leader yelled.
We headed to a bar in the city, which we had found out was the base. We were met with the awful stench of beer and 4 people with weird beanies drinking. I watched them carefully as they glanced at us.
"Who are you guys? We booked this place for the night. Get lost!" The fat guy who will later challenge us yelled, his voice slurred. I twitched in disgust. I hate bars... I muttered in my mind
"We're here to talk. Would you please leave the city?" Kazsule asked politely. The "pirates" stared at us blankly before burst out laughing.
"Been a long time since I heard those words." One of the other pirates stated as they continued to howl in laughter. At one point, one of them threw a bottle at me. I was about to dodge when a hand grabbed it in front of me. I looked over at Killua who had thankfully saved me, but saw he was pretty ticked off. He easily whipped it back, it crashing into the wall and made a loud shattering noise that echoed in the room. This caused them to shut up and glare. The fattest guy stood up, made a circle around him with the alcohol and lite up a lighter.
"Then no need to talk. Use force to make us leave." He spoke with a creepy grin. He dropped it down making a circle of fire. I flinched slightly, scooted closer to Killua and looked down at the floor. The boy easily realized my movements and why and gave my hand a squeeze in reassurance. "I don't care how many of you attack at once. If you move me from this ring, I'll take you to see our boss."
"We just have to move you out of the ring? If its a brawl you want, I'm your man." The man who spoke made his body tense up and many veins popped out as his Nen started up. He ran up to the fatso and wrapped his arms around him. I narrowed my eyes at him, confused at what he was doing. The giant clamped his arms over his opponents shoulders and lifted him up as he struggled.
"You're pretty strong..." The pirate muttered and placed him over the fire, his foot burning up. The man cried out in pain. Gon suddenly disappeared from my side and kicked the fatty on the face. The guy dropped our teammate and he almost landed back in the circle. On instinct, I called out my scythe and swung it over. I hooked it around the burned man and brought him over, catching him with somewhat ease. I sat down on the floor, the man still crying out.
"Shut the heck up and calm down! I can't help you until you do that!" I snarled at him. The man bit his lip and kept his struggling to a minimum. "Book." I stated and took out a card form of a bottle of water. "Gain." The item popped out and I quickly poured it over his foot that was on fire. The fire easily became smoke and I let out a sigh as soon As I knew it was gone. "Someone get something to wrap up the wound." My voice was shaky and already exhausted. Two guys came over with a towel and took him away. I looked back up to the fight and saw Killua had grabbed a bottle of wine, breaking the top off.
"You wouldn't..." The pirate exclaimed in slight worry. Killua disappeared from my sight and then reappeared from above, pouring the drink all over his head. Killua then lit up his electricity, lighting the much older and bigger guys head on fire. The man screamed in pain and then tripped and rolled out of the circle and into the wall.
"Smart." I said simply, a small smile on my lips.
"There, I win. Next time, don't throw a bottle at my girlfriend." The ending part ended off with a threatening glare even though he wore that arrogant smile. A blush bloomed on my face and I covered my cheeks. Well, that was nice actually... I thought.
"D-Dang little brat!" Even as the fat man charged up at Killua in anger, he still wore that smug smirk. The other pirate kicked him in the face, suddenly. My mouth made an 'o' shape in surprise, along with many others. The pirate who now officially hates Killua hit the wall with a thud.
"You made up the rules... Don't get upset." I tilted my head at the pirate with brown hair. He reminds me of Phinks...
"Yeah, my bad..." The other pirate muttered.
"Come with me. I'd take you to the boss." The man said to mainly Killua and easily walked away. There was a moment of silence before we actually followed behind him. I ran up to the two boys.
"Are you two okay?" I asked Gon and Killua, Bisky trailing behind me. They nodded theirs heads slowly and we continued in silence. We walked up a path to a building connected to a light house and entered. My eyes grew wide at the room. It was basically a gym, a bunch of people with similar beanies doing all sort of sports. The School's gym is about this size... I noted in my head.
"Eh, so your boss is in here?" Killua exclaimed as he examined the room in wonder.
"Boss, we have visitors" The pirate leading us spoke. I looked at the back of a man with longish black hair, strong muscles and lifting weights.
"Who are these guys?" The boss asked, still not glancing at us.
"They want to chase us out of town" The pirate replied with ease.
"Chase us out?" Razor repeated. Gon's eyes narrowed in anticipation. The man finally turned to look at us with a smile. He dropped the weights. "Let's have a contest." Well that escalated quickly... I thought. "If you win, we'll leave the island. However, we choose the contest. How does that sound?"
"What happens if we lose?" Gorienu said from the back of the group.
"Nothing. You'll just have to leave." Razor replied. The smile on his face was a little creepy and it sent shivers down my spine.
"Okay, let's do this!" Kazsule exclaimed.
"The theme of this battle is sports. Each of these members will challenge you to a match in their best sport. One win per person. The first side to reach eight wins will be the victor." The black haired leader explained the rules.
"I'm up first... I'll go with boxing." A slim man said with a pair of red boxing gloves.
"Well? Who's up?" The GM asked, pointing to the boxing ring.
"I've got this." The man who had used the List spell card to #2 stated. Sure you do... I said in my head sarcastically. The match started up and I ignored the small talk they had about Emitters. I watched the flurry of attacks made by our side But then caught the small movement of an uppercut that was an easy solid knockout hit. I let out a sigh in disappointment as the pirate hit the ground. The team started to cheer but Suddenly, our teammate fell down and the opponent came right back up.
"What just happened?" Kazsule asked.
"He used teleportation." Killua replied with ease after giving him a look.
"Teleportation?" A blond guy repeated in confusion.
"Of only his fist, with a short uppercut. His goal was to land a knockout counterstrike. It was obvious." The white haired boy said in boredom, shoving his hands in his pocket. Razor smirked at us and I looked away quickly. The point went to the other side.
"Ok, I'm next. I'll go with juggling soccer balls." Another pirates said as he held the black and white ball on his index finger.
"Then, I'm up..." Gon stated but stopped as Killua interrupted.
"Wait. Gon." We made a small group discussion quickly. "There's no chance of winning with these members. We should purposely lose in order to gather information." Killua explained to us. Gon and I made a sour face.
"Indeed, that would be wise." Bisky agreed with the older boy and then went up. "Okay, I'm up next!" Our blond teacher yelled.
"A little girl? Now I'll have to take care not to injure you." The man stated.
"Hurt me with juggling?" Bisky said innocently.
"We're allowed to attack using Nen. Provided that you don't touch the ball with you hands."
"I understand." Right after, Bisky failed the juggling as the ball hit the floor right after it hiet her shoe. "Ah, that was harder than expected. I lose." Everyone in the room, except for Razor, Killua, Gon and me had dumbstruck faces.
"I'm up next, then. You wanna go, big guy?" Killua stated arrogantly. I rolled my eyes at him.
"You bet! Prepare yourself, brat!" I sweat dropped at that one. They got into a small rope ring and the fatso charged up at Killua as soon as it began. Of course, Killua dodged with ease and jumped out of the small hoop, landing silently. The much older man's face flushed with anger.
"Oh, sorry about that... I stepped outside of the ring." God, that guy really knows how to piss someone off.
"I guess, I'm next." I stated as I walked up. "What sport should I go up against?" I asked to myself innocently. Killua so owes me... I thought with a little bit of anger. A pirate came up to me.
"Let's do some archery." I nodded my head softly at him. We stood a far distance away from large targets. "First to get a bullseye wins." I twitched in annoyance. I could so ace this if I could actually try! I yelled in my head. I failed it of course not even trying. The man got it on his first try while my arrow didn't even land close to my target, whamming into the ground. I tried my best to hide my anger as I walked back to the group, slapping Killua in the arm as I got back.
"You owe me a week of chocolate now." I muttered angrily and he laughed it off. Five games later we had all lost them and left the base.
"When you saw we couldn't win with this lineup, you decided to lose deliberately, and gather information, huh?" Gorienu stated after a moment.
"But once a party lost, they can't make another attempt." Kazsule told us.
"But it's okay if we simply switch out one member. It was a worthwhile risk." One of Kazsule grop members said.
"You can count us out." Asta's voice rang out, causing us to turn and look. "We've accomplished our original objective, keeping the Bomber form completing the game. It will be impossible for them to assemble a team of fifteen. You should probably give up on this contest. If you end up obtaining the card, you'll just become a target." Asta said as her group walked away. Every group took that into consideration and with that, it was only Team Gon and Team Gorienu.
"They don't get it... It makes sense to obtain this card quickly." The oldest male stated.
"To avoid potential internal conflict." Killua finished
"Exactly." Gon yelped in surprise, not realizing this. Killua proceeded to explain.
"You need at least fifteen people to participate. Even if you use Clone, you can only obtain three copies of Patch of Shore. This event was designed to incite infighting." Killua explained. Bisky, Gon and I were surprised. I completely forgot... "Thats what you meant." He talking about the brutal thing right? I thought. "I had to think about that, since I didn't get it right away."
"Assuming that we five are capable of winning,we still need three more up to the task. And ideally, they's already be in a party of eleven. Do you have any leads?" The man asked.
"Book." Gon called out. "Looking at the names on my list, Chrollo's probably the strongest."
"But Kurapika said he's definitely a fake." Killua stated.
"Who is it then?" The green haired boy questioned in confusion.
"Wouldn't it only make sense that it's a member of the troupe?" I pointed out to them. The two of them nodded their heads.
"But why would a member of the Troupe be here?" Gon added to his list of questions.
"Maybe to beat the game?" Killua replied with a question than a statement.
"Or maybe a Nen Exorcist." I chimed in. I knew I was right, well partially anyway.
"But wouldn't they have used their own name?" Another question.
"That's true."
"We can use Sight Vision." Gorienu spoke, making me jump sligtly. I forgot he was here.
"Huh?" We all went.
"If this person isn't here to beat the game, they won't bother to collect cards." He explained.
"Oh that right" Gon spoke in slight surprise. We did what Gorienu suggested and looked to see his cards and he only had 6 cards in his free slots. Hisoka... I thought in my head.
"This guy's not even trying." Killua scowled at the results
"His only cards are for food and water." Gon told us.
"That makes it easier to invite them." The male said from behind us.
"But if it really is a Troupe member, we won't invite them. We'll just ask a few questions." The amber eyed boy stated determinedly.
"Then there's no point in bothering. Since it's definitely one of them" The pale boy commented, ignoring the fact Gon was glaring at him.
"Finding out who they are is important, but I'd rather learn why they're here!" Gon yelled while Killua gave him an annoyed look. I let out a sigh.
"Are you an idiot?! You're going to ask them why they're here? They aren't going to tell you!" Killua scolded the older boy. I sweat dropped.
"Yeah, I'm an idiot! I'm an idiot, so I'm still going to ask!" You don't just admit you're an idiot, Gon... I thought with a small smile.
"Then go right ahead!" Killua yelled back fiercely.
"I sure will!" Gorienu looked at me and Bisky as he sweat dropped.
"Are they always like this?" He asked and I let out a nervous laugh and rubbed the back of my head.
"Yeah..." I replied with a small grin and Bisky just smiled with a flowery aura.
"I'm off then!" Gon exclaimed, slightly angry still.
"Knock yourself out." I sighed again as Killua made his comment. They glared daggers at each other.
"Calm down guys." I told the boys who seemed like they were breathing fire at each other.
"Accompany on! Chrollo Lucifer." And off we flew. I tilted my head. I feel like I'm forgetting something important... I thought as we landed in a misty area, covered with forest. It reminded me of that Swamp from the first Phase of the Hunter Exam. We all watched intently, waiting for the person to appear from the fog. We all heard water moving from the lake in front of us and all our eyes grew wide and tensed.
"No way..." I heard Killua mutter.
"Hisoka!" Gon called out in shock as my eyes grew wide. The red haired magician turned his head to look at us with a grin.
"Well, well... I have unexpected visitors. It's been awhile." Hisoka stated as he turned to face us fully. The magician flared his Nen at us, making us do the same.
"As I thought. You've matured quite a lot. It appears that you found an excellent teacher. As I anticipated, you grow more appetizing with every growing day." My eyes grew wide as the fog slowly cleared up. HOLY COW! I cursed loudly in my head as I let out girly scream and immediately hid behind the closet thing to me, which was Killua. I buried my head into the boy's back, a depressing and disgusted aura surrounding me and I squeezed the boy tighter, promptly chocking him slightly. My eyes... I thought as I tried to force the scarring image out of my head.
"Who is this pervy freak?" Gorienu asked, disturbed as he stared.
"Are you their teacher?" Hisoka questioned before shaking his head and then turned to Bisky. I heard Bisky gasp and turn around quickly.
"Stop it!" Bisky squealed.
"Hurry up and put some clothes on, you stupid clown!" I yelled, though it was muffled With my face pressed against Killua. The joker merely chuckled and I could hear him move.
"So what do you want with me... No, with Chrollo." I wasn't sure if I could look yet so I just stayed with Killua in front of me and my arms wrapped around him."Yukiko-chan~! You can loook~!" Shivers ran down my spine but I peeped over Killua's shoulder and sighed in relief as I saw the man was dressed and moved over so he could see me.
"I have a question. Why are you here?" Gon asked simply. Hisoka gave us a strange look before brushing his bangs back from his face.
"I'm looking for Chrollo." This caused Killua and Gon to tense up. "There's actually a way to remove Kurapika's Nen from him." Hisoka explained.
"You can purge it." Gon stated with a serious tone.
"So you knew? That makes this easier. I'm looking for Chrollo, to give him that information, but I have no leads. That's when I remembered that some spiders were interested in this game. I thought maybe they would know Chrollo's whereabouts. And by choosing this name, I ensure that they will come to me." The red haired man told us.
"I get it. He was just pretending to be a member of the Troupe." Killua said in realization. Gon and I nodded our heads.
"Now, it's my turn for a question. You didn't come here just to ask that, did you?" The magician asked.
"No, I did" Gon replied simply with an innocent gaze. Killua threw his head down, I face palmed and Hisoka sweat dropped.
"Um..." Bisky's innocent voice rang out causing us to turn our attention towards her. "Actually, we're looking for people who are really strong. Won't you please join us." I froze up while Killua and Gon looked at her like she was insane, probably because how there was this strange sparkly aura around her and she looked like she put makeup on suddenly.
"A female's key point..." I muttered under my breath.
"Hm? Sure. Why are you looking for strong people." How is he so calm!? I shouted at Hisoka in my head. We all looked at Bisky for a group chat.
"Wait, h-hold on... I'm against this. It's too dangerous!" Gorienu stated and I nodded my head eagerly. Though I knew he would join us later, I was just scarred for life!
"Yeah, you don't know who this guy is, Bisky!" Killua added in.
"He's a frigging pervert!" I told the other female. "Oh? That's not true." I tensed before naturally using Gyo. "I can sense that he's a kindred spirit." He's lying... I read in my mind. In the end, we agreed with Bisky because of this notice.
"We should hed to the City of Love, Aiai. It's a great place for new meetings. Perhaps you can find strong people there." Hisoka suggested, so we went of to the City of Love, Aiai.
"What did you mean about him lying?" Killua asked as we walked.
"Technically, I should say he wasn't speaking the truth."Bisky stated with ease.
"How could you tell?" Gon questioned this time.
"I had a gut feeling." I let out a small grin. That's something Gon would say.
"Gut feeling?!" Killua hissed. Bisky gave us a mischievous look, making me sweat drop.
"After lying for fifty years, I can recognize a fellow liar." Bisky than proceeded with an evil laugh.
"Ok then..." I muttered slowly and nervously.
"Since he's hiding something, we'll keep him around to see what's up. Plus, he's really strong right?"
"Uh-huh..." Gon mumbled in reply. A shaky feeling ran through my spine and I let out a small shriek.
"You pervert!" I screamed.
"Hisoka! You walk in front!" Killua yelled to the man. The red head sadly complied and We examined him from behind.
We arrived at Aiai, and I laughed at the strange, giant, heart ballon at the top of the city. It was a pretty place, pretty vintage in my opinion. I constantly heard something saying 'Aiiii, Aiiiiii' which was kinda creepy. A girl tripped in front of us, her glasses falling and her pile of books scattered.
"Why not give it to her? You might become friends." Hisoka suggested after the female mumbled something about glasses. A blonde fell as she ran into Goreinu and yelled at him, of course making him apologize. And then we heard someone cry for help.
"This place..." I mumbled as Gon ran up to help and Killua went after him to hit him. Suddenly, Bisky grabbed my wrist, her eyes sparkling Which set off warning bells in my head.
"Look, a group of cuties!" The female squealed before dragging me. She ran up a bit before a guy started to flirt with her. I let out a sigh and took a step to go back before I slipped on something. I let out a small shriek and almost hit the floor before someone grabbed me by the hand and helped me up. A guy, maybe Kurapika's age or so with hazel brown hair that covered his right eye and the eye I could see was a beautiful emerald green which enchanted me. A small blush grew on my face. Handsome... I thought in my head.
"You should be careful, miss." The man said with a dazzling smile. My eyes grew wide and I went into a small daze.
"Oh, I, um, I'm sorry. Thanks for, uh, catching me." I stuttered slightly in shyness.
"Wow, you have beautiful blue eyes..." The red on my cheeks grew as he stared deeply into my eyes.
"Uh, Thank you...?" I mumbled slowly, glancing at the floor since I was unable to hold my gaze. His hand moved and he skimmed the side of my cheek and he was about to cup my chin before something flashed by and the man was suddenly some distance away, a look of surprise on his face.
"Keep your hands off her." I looked up to the side slightly to stare at Killua who had suddenly reappeared, his arms locked around my waist to keep me still. The teen gave a nervous smile and backed away from us and disappeared from our sight. Killua looked beyond annoyed. He turned his head to face me and glared and I gave a small shrug in reply. The boy leaned in closer slightly and I backed up a bit but Killua placed a hand at the back of my head to keep me from moving.
"You really shouldn't be letting other guys touch you..." Killua trailed off as he pressed his lips against mine, in the process making the kiss demanding and needy. My eyes grew wide in shock and my face flushed as he tilted his head and deepened the kiss and I couldn't even struggle since his grip on me was too strong. My head was whirling as my heart raced and my breath couldn't seem to catch up. I gripped the front of his shirt in order to gain some sort of ground, but that idea died quickly as he nibbled my bottom lip, which lead to my mind to become a hurricane. I'm melting... I managed to think as a few pleasuring shiver ran through my body. When he finally broke away from me, my face was probably red as a cherry and the boy merely smirked and licked his lips as I panted. He pressed his forehead against mine, his eyes giving that charming aura that made me inwardly swoon. Stupid inner fangirl! "Especially since you're mine." Killua completed. If possible, my face probably went redder and my knees almost collapsed on me. I tightened the grip I had on Killua to keep myself steady and the boys smirk widened at me. Nonetheless of how much I liked the way that sounded, I scowled at the boy.
"You pervert..." I growled, happy to feel the heat on my cheeks start to die down. "Hey, look. Gon's going to get into a story." I stated and pointed at Gon who had a female reporter talking to him with admiring eyes while Gon, being the gentlmen he was, kindly answered all her question with his contagious smile. Killua pouted at me.
"Don't ruin the moment." I raised an eyebrow at him.
"Why do you remeber every little thing I say?" I asked, remebering I had used that statement when he first kissed me.
"Maybe because all I remeber is you." Killua teased and the heat on my cheeks came right back.
"Flirt! And that's a lie." I replied and then glanced back at Gon. "Your best friend's walking away with a girl while carrying her books. Don't you think you should stop him?" I asked as another attempt to change the subject. A tick mark actually appeared on the boys forehead this time.
"There's no point in hanging around this city." Killua murmured under his breath and let me go and I sighed, placing a hand on my left cheek and gave the boy a flustered glare. "Hisoka, let's head somewhere else." Killua called out and I glanced at the red haired magician and Gorienu talking.
"Oh? But we won't be bored here." I saw something hit Killua like a brick. Oh, he realized. Gon came over to me.
"Oh, weren't you just helping someone?" I asked with a tilted head, poking my cheek slightly in hope to make sure they weren't as red as I hoped.
"Well, I already helped her so it's ok. We're leaving?" He asked me as he spotted Hisoka slowly walking to the exit. I nodded my head.
"Yeah, there's no reason to stay." I replied and we headed over the Killua who had his thoughts all cleared up by now. As we started trailing behind Hisoka, I tapped Killua's hand for attention. He gave me a look.
"I know." I whispered without glancing at the boy. I saw him tense from the corner of my eye and nodded his head.
"Hey, Killua, Yukiko... I've been thinking." Gon stated as we exited the gate and I let out a sigh of relief. "We should probably try to recruit Tsezgerra. Even if he doesn't join, we should meet with him, so he'll be on our binder list."
"The problem is we don't have him on our list currently." I told the boy simply. I turned to Hisoka. "Hisoka, can we see your binder?" I asked with ease as Gon ran up to him. Killua and I shared a look.
"We want to see if Tsezgerra is on your list." Gon added in.
"List?" Hisoka repeated curiously. Gon then explained about the list, so Hisoka showed us his book.
"There's Tsezgerra."
"Eh? Really? What a coincidence." I stated simply and ran up to look along with Gon. The other three followed the suit. Gon called out his book and handed Hisoka a Contact spell card.
"Then, Hisoka, recite this spell... We'll do the talking." Gon, you're so blunt. I thought with a small laugh.
"Contact on. Tsezgerra." Hisoka said and it took a few moment for the other side to reply. We had then asked the man on the other side if we could meet up and this followed with us using Accompany to reach them.
"Together there are six of you?" Tsezgerra asked us once we explained the situation. There was Tsezgerra and another person in font of us. And if I recall, two more in the shadows.
"Yeah, this is all of us." Gorienu replied.
"There are two others in my group. This only gives us a total of ten. Where do you plan to find the rest?" The man asked
"We need fifteen members, right? We can use stand in's then. Invite a player who wants to return to the real world but can't." Was Gorienu's reply.
"They won't be able to help, but they won't care about receiving cards either." Killua called out from my side.
"Meaning the ten of us will have to win the contest. I don't know how strong our opponents are, but can we?"
"We can. Even if we don't manage eight wins, we can switch someone out and try again." Gorienu explained to the taller man.
"So whether we can win depends on you guys. Show us your Ren. We'll decide if we want you afterwards" Killua demanded with a serious look. I sweat dropped. The tables are turned... I thought.
"I see our roles are reversed." I wanted to laugh since I was just thinking that. "Very well. Here I go!" The man squatted, Nen forming beneath his feet before he launched himself upwards.
"Wow!" Gon and I went in sync.
"Awesome!" Killua exclaimed.
"If I use my full strength, I can fly higher. My recored is sixteen meters, eighty centimeters" I felt my adrenaline pumping in my veins again. We all turned to each other with matching grins.
"Let's try!" I shouted happily, wanting to do something like this. I don't think I felt like this since the time I jumped off the cliff for the Second Phase! The three of us went into a squat postion, Nen on our feet.
"Ready, and...Go!" We exclaimed in unison before launching up. I laughed at the results after looking down at Tsezgerra a way down. I surprisingly came out the highest with me at least a head taller than Killua, which was a bit taller than Gon.
"Beat cha both!" I said, wrapping my arms around Killua's neck. They both cursed at me in defeat. Gon waved his arms up and down to fly up higher, but of course it didn't work. We all went back down.
"Okay! Let's go again!" Gon stated cheerfully.
"No way. You won't stop until you win." Killua scolded.
"And we know there's no way you can both beat me." I teased and stuck my tongue out. Killua twitched in annoyance, but didn't fight back.
"One more time... Just one more time!" Gon begged. I simply shook my head at the boy with a sigh.
"Oh, you passed. Nice jump." Killua stated towards the older Hunter as he ignored Gon for a moment before they went back to bickering.
"Once more!" Gon whined. I rolled my eyes.
"Fine." Killua and I both went. We looked at each other before going to to a competing glare.
"Bet I'll beat you again." I said with a smirk.
"Bet you won't." My glare hardened, Before the three of us went into a squat again and flew up, Bisky watching us. This came out with the same results, thought Killua was a little closer to my mark. I laughed evilly at their lose.
"Again!" They both yelled at me, making me sweat drop as we hit the ground.
"Gon, I understand but Killua? Really?" I asked. I placed my hands on my hips "Nope. I win!" I exclaimed happily as I pumped my fist up in victory and laughed while the boys groaned. A yelp drew our attention away.
"This is bad! Team Genthru is at ninety seven cards." One of Tsezgerra's teammates stated, worry laced in his voice. We all tensed at the news.
"That means, they're only missing..." I started off, slowly as a strange sense of dread overwhelming me.
"Patch of Shore and..." Gon added.
"Lucky Alexandrite." Killua finished off. We all shared a look of determination, all sense of childishness vanishing with ease.
"We have to get Patch of Shore."
